Our Daily Manna November 28, 2017: ODM devotional – Oh Nepa! Up Nepa!

Our Daily Manna November 28, 2017: ODM devotional – Oh Nepa! Up Nepa!

Topic: Oh Nepa! Up Nepa! [Tuesday, November 28, 2017]

Basic Scriptures: Isaiah 61: 1-3; Psalm 126

The Word f God is light! The entrance of light brings joy! Let us illustrate this with a common occurrence in Nigeria (the most populous black Country in the world).

Years ago and even currently, whenever there is power failure, people will scream, “Oh NEPA.” “NEPA” means the National Electric Power Authority. Some even curse the Electric Power Authority. In extreme cases, there have been cases of community boys marching to the NEPA office to beat up its workmen (e.g. during a crucial football match). However, as soon as power supply is restored, you hear shout of jubilation, “UP NEPA!!”The emphasis in today’s devotional is that as a child of God, you have been delivered form the kingdom of darkness. Light has come into your life and whatever is the work or the trace of the works of darkness around your life must not be tolerated or allowed to stay beyond this devotional hour.

Know and enjoy your right! You have mourned before while in the world (darkness). This is your season to rejoice, no matter the trials. WHATEVER YOUR FATHER GOD HAS NOT PLANNED IN YOUR LIFE, FAMILY AND MINISTRY IS FROM THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS! Reject m,,it and reject frustration, sinful habits, stagnation, sickness, hopelessness, poverty, depression, confusion, prayerlessness, etc. They do not belong to you at all and they do not from your Father God. You must rejoice again and shout, “UP JESUS! JEHOVAH OVER-DO!

I have just been told to tell you: You will laugh again! – Ps. 126:2. Yes, will celebrate again! Your stolen joy is been restored now! Psalm 30:5 screams out loud: “ … weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” This is your season of light and joy! Hope is to hear the melody of the future. Faith is to dance to it! As 2017 ends, hold on and hold out!

PLAN TO ATTEND THE LAGOS MOUNTAIN LAST ANOINTING SERVICE OF 2017 ON December 9th; TIME: 8an-11.30am. VENUE IS OGUDU MOUNTAIN!

Prayer Points: Take this song: Because He Lives…

1. In your own words, pray about today’s word as led.

2. Sin, weakness and financial shame are from the kingdom of darkness. Therefore, I command their influence over my life and ministry to be uprooted now in Jesus name (pray it seriously). Declare Colossians 1:12-13.

3. Whether the devil likes it or not, I must walk in joy and light in Jesus name.

4. My portion is light; I have been delivered from darkness. Whatever my Father God has not planted is FADING from my destiny NOW! Pray today as led now.

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily November 28, 2017 Devotional: Imitate the Faithful

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily November 28, 2017 Devotional: Imitate the Faithful

Topic: Imitate the Faithful [Tuesday November 28, 2017]

Remember your leaders and superiors in authority, [for it was they] who brought to you the Word of God. Observe attentively and consider their manner of living…and imitate their faith. – Hebrews 13:7, The Amplified Bible

Apart from the Word of God itself and prayer, nothing can do more for you than watching and imitating a real man of faith. I found that out in a big way many years ago when I was a student at Oral Roberts University. As co-pilot on the airplane that transported him and his staff to his healing meetings, I had the opportunity to study Oral Roberts up close. I followed him around. I heard him preach. I watched him lay hands on the sick.

I’ll never forget the day I had the opportunity to put some of what I’d learned from him into action. I’d just been to a few of his meetings. Spiritually, I was still as green as a gourd. But I’d been assigned to help the people in the “invalid room” get ready for Brother Roberts to lay hands on them. I was standing there for the first time surrounded by every kind of sickness and disease you can imagine. And when Brother Roberts came in, instead of laying hands on the people himself, he caught me by the coat sleeve and said, “You’re going to do the praying. You’re going to lay hands on them.”

I know all the blood must have drained out of my face because I’d never prayed for anything like that in my life. I might have considered praying for a headache or maybe a serious hangnail, but that’s it!

The first lady we came to had cancer of the stomach. She weighed less than 80 pounds. She was just the picture of death. I walked over toward her and before I could open my mouth, I heard a voice from behind me say, “In the Name of Jesus, take up your bed and walk.” She instantly spit that cancer out on the floor. Then she jumped off that bed and screamed, “I’m healed,” and started running around the room.

Let me tell you, that moment changed me. When I stepped up to the next person and raised my hands, I could see the healing coming. I’d seen Jesus heal through Brother Roberts, so in my mind’s eye, I could see Him healing through me.

You can do the same thing. Find someone who’s operating in more faith and power than you are and learn from him. Watch Jesus in him and then copy him. Sooner or later, others will start seeing Jesus in you.

Read: Amos 4:12–13, Bible in a Year: Ezekiel 33–34; 1 Peter 5

[He] who creates the wind, . . . the Lord God Almighty is his name. Amos 4:13

One day by the seaside, I delighted in watching some kite surfers as they bounced along the water, moved by the force of the wind. When one came to shore, I asked him if the experience was as difficult as it looked. “No,” he said, “It’s actually easier than regular surfing because you harness the power of the wind.”

Afterward as I walked by the sea, thinking about the wind’s ability not only to propel the surfers but also to whip my hair into my face, I paused to wonder at our God the Creator. As we see in the Old Testament book of Amos, He who “forms the mountains” and “creates the wind” can turn “dawn to darkness” (v. 13).

Through this prophet, the Lord reminded His people of His power as He called them back to Himself. Because they had not obeyed Him, He said He would reveal Himself to them (v. 13). Although we see His judgment here, we know from elsewhere in the Bible of His sacrificial love in sending His Son to save us (see John 3:16).

The power of the wind on this breezy day in the South of England reminded me of the sheer immensity of the Lord. If you feel the wind today, why not stop and ponder our all-powerful God?

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your power and love. Help us to daily rely on You.

God through His love created the world. Praise Him!

Insight:

The Bible uses many metaphors to describe God and His work in our lives: For example, God is a “shepherd” (Ps. 23:1; Isa. 40:11), a “rock” (Gen. 49:24), a “consuming fire” (Deut. 4:24), and a “spring of living water” (Jer. 2:13). But at the dawn of creation, God was likened to a powerful wind. Genesis 1:2 says “the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” The Hebrew word rendered “Spirit” in this verse means “wind.” We can’t see the wind, but we can feel the coolness of a gentle breeze and witness the raw power of a violent tornado uprooting trees and destroying everything in its path. The wind pictures for us God’s invisible presence, His sovereign will, His awesome power, and His mysterious ways. Jesus spoke of this same power of the Spirit of God at work in transforming our lives: “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit” (John 3:8).

Disney Channel Show Features Male Character Who Dresses up as a Princess

Disney Channel Show Features Male Character Who Dresses up as a Princess

The Disney show “Star vs. The Forces of Evil” recently featured a male character who disguised himself as a female princess character.

While many LGBT advocates praised Disney’s decision to feature the character, many conservatives were concerned.

According to The Christian Post, this is the same Disney XD channel show which previously featured a same-sex kiss. The show continues to be controversial with its featuring of the character Marco Diaz, who disguised himself as the princess Turdina.

EW.com describes how the scenario plays out: “Marco is about to reveal his truth to the students when Ms. Heinous storms in and outs him herself, pulling down his shirt to reveal a strand of chest hair. But the other princesses stand by Marco’s side.”

“That doesn’t prove anything. Princesses can be hairy,” one princess shouts.

“Why does it matter if he’s a boy? Nothing he said was wrong,” another adds.

Others state “Turdina is a state of mind” and “He can be a princess if he wants to!”

The Huffington Post’s Queer Voices section praised the episode, calling it a “beautiful moment and one that could be incredibly influential for kids who are soaking up social cues about what it means to be a boy or a girl ― or any gender in between ― and what supposedly is or isn’t possible because of how they identify.”

But this is precisely why many conservatives and…

“At RZIM it has come to our attention that a number of false assertions regarding the character, actions, and accomplishments of Ravi Zacharias have been circulating online in recent days. It grieves our team to see how the egregious claims and destructive slander of a few individuals have been amplified by wider networks, particularly on social media,” a Monday statement posted at 5:24 p.m. on the RZIM Facebook page read.

“As Ravi Zacharias is currently traveling and many of our team members are still to return from the Thanksgiving holiday, we will respond in greater detail to the false accusations as soon as possible. Andrew Wommack’s Daily 28 November 2017 Devotional: What Is A Miracle?

Topic: What Is A Miracle? [Tuesday November 28, 2017]

Luke 23:8 “And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.”

Herod desired to see Jesus perform some kind of miracle, and some of the questions he asked Jesus made this desire obvious. However, Jesus did not use His faith to do any miracles for Herod.

Miracles are God’s way of meeting the needs of those who seek Him in faith. Miracles will sometimes be used to demonstrate God’s ability so that people may believe (Mk. 2:10-11), but they will not happen to skeptics who are tempting God (Lk. 4:9-12).

A miracle is a supernatural intervention of God’s power over natural law.

Healings occur within the boundaries of natural law while miracles are not limited to natural law. A person with a high fever who receives prayer and then begins to recover is experiencing a healing. The Lord intervened but in natural ways. The virus, infection, or whatever was rebuked left the body (Lk. 4:39) and then the natural healing process that the Lord built into all of us took over. When something totally supernatural happens, that’s a miracle. When Jesus reattached the servant’s ear and it was instantly whole after Peter cut it off (Lk. 22:51), demonstrated a miracle. It was also a healing, but it was a miraculous healing.

Feeding the five thousand (Mt. 14:19-20), walking on the water (Mt. 14:25), translating a ship and all aboard to the other side of the sea (Jn. 6:21) – all these are miracles. Miracles are usually instantaneous whereas healings are sometimes gradual.

The Lord has never had anyone who was qualified working for Him. It’s by God’s grace that He uses any of us. Anyone who claims to be used of God because of his great holiness is either deceived or a deceiver. It’s our faith in the grace of God that allows miracles to flow through us.

Billy Graham’s Daily 28 November 2017 Devotional: The Sufficiency of God

Billy Graham’s Daily 28 November 2017 Devotional: The Sufficiency of God

Topic: The Sufficiency of God [Tuesday November 28, 2017]

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. — John 10:10

In God’s economy, you must go down into the valley of grief before you can scale the heights of spiritual glory. You must become tired and weary of living alone before you seek and find the fellowship of Christ. You must come to the end of “self” before you can begin to live. The happiest day of my life was when I realized that my own ability, my own goodness, and my own morality were insufficient in the sight of God. I am not exaggerating when I say that my mourning was turned to joy, and my sighing into singing. Happy are they that mourn for the inadequacy of self, for they shall be comforted with the sufficiency of God.

Prayer for the day: Almighty God, You have given me real life through Jesus Christ. My soul praises You.

U.K. Raises Awareness of Persecuted Christians by Lighting Buildings up Red

U.K. Raises Awareness of Persecuted Christians by Lighting Buildings up Red

On Nov. 22, the British Houses of Parliament and more than 30 churches and schools, mostly in the U.K., bathed their buildings in red light to bring attention to the worsening problem of Christian persecution around the world.

The initiative was part of Red Wednesday—the second annual centerpiece of Aid to the Church in Need’s efforts to remember the most persecuted religious group in the world. Special services and vigils also were held throughout the week. Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) urged people to wear red, the color of martyrdom, and post photos on social media using the hashtag #RedWednesday.

Speakers of the House of Commons and House of Lords agreed to participate in Red Wednesday after constituent pressure, according to ACN.

“We all need to get behind #RedWednesday—we need to stand together against violence carried out in the name of religion—we need to speak up about regimes which persecute people of faith,” one citizen who lobbied his lawmaker told ACN.

ACN’s Patricia Hatton told me that Red Wednesday is designed “to wake up the Christian community to the nature and scale of Christian persecution today, especially in the Middle East, and to call for prayer and practical support for all who need our help.”
