Apple iOS 11.0.3 Continue To Anger Users Two Weeks Later

Apple official websitePromotional picture for iOS 11.

While Apple users continue to wait patiently for the salvation that is iOS 11.1, they still have to contend with iOS 11.0.3 as it continues to cause a lot of headaches. The problem has gotten so bad that even the tech giant’s most passionate fans can no longer deny it.

Longtime Apple news and rumor site Apple Insider recently penned an article on the topic writing that the problems with battery life and instability don’t seem to have a common cause, or are easily rectifiable. This basically says that the current iteration of the iOS as the source of the problem not the wide array of devices it’s currently on.

The article also highlighted several posts in forums as well as Reddit that has since garnered massive following mainly due to users having the same problems. One such post on Apple’s Official Support Communities forum a post reporting multiple problems within iOS 11.0.3 particularly its battery life now has over 1200 endorsements confirming to Apple that “I have this question too.”

Another post, this time in Reddit, describing how the this particular user’s iPhone has taken a “nosedive” following the iOS 11 update has garnered over 400 comments, almost all of which empathize with author. Another thread decrying a slew of performance and stability problems now has 2000 comments, also in support of the author.

Even worse, it appears that users are now slowly getting fed up with updates that only address small number of issues at a time. Affected users are often arguing that this is the end of Apple while unaffected ones…

Christians fleeing ISIS are discriminated against

Of the 8,136 Syrians given shelter in the UK in 2015-16, 75 were Christians and only 33 Shi’ite Muslims. Sunni Muslims were given the majority of places.

In September 2015-October 2016, only 56 Christians were resettled by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees out of 10,801.

The Barnabus Fund, who help persecuted Christians, said he figures show the Government and the UN are prioritizing other faith groups.

They say Christians made up 10% of Syria’s population but only 1.5% of Syrian refugees resettled in countries such as the US, New Zealand and the UK last year were Christians.

This is despite several national parliaments and the US State department declaring that Christians have been specifically targeted and possibly subject to genocide.

Augustinian monk Martin Luther “gave us back the Gospel” when he began the Protestant Reformation, according to a Ligonier Ministries scholar.

Derek W.H. Thomas, senior minister at the First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina, and professor at Reformed Theological Seminary, told those gathered at an event celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation on Monday evening that Luther was crucial to rediscovering the Gospel.

In a lecture titled “The Importance of Luther,” Thomas referenced Protestant theologian John Calvin, noting that the influential figure said of Luther that “he gave us back the Gospel.”

Christian says 31st October has been ‘hijacked’

Damian Stayne started Night of Light around 15 years ago.

He told Premier 31st October should really be about the eve All Saints’ Day.

He said: “All Saints Feast is the celebration of the success of the work of the cross.

“The devil seems to have hidden that message by disguising Halloween into something about darkness and death and witches.

“It’s become a celebration of darkness and things that are very unhealthy.”

Night of Light has received a stamp of approval by the Vatican and celebrations have taken place in small chapels and cathedrals in parish churches, monasteries, schools and homes in several countries.

Stayne said: “The kids who come to our Night of Light parties have got to have a better time than all their friends who are doing trick or treating.

“We invite them to come and dress up as Saints their heroes of faith, and we do some kind of teaching, a little tiny short thing, that gives them an aspiration for living in God.”

To set itself apart from traditional Halloween celebrations, the event is decorated with pumpkins that have happy faces carved into them.

Night of Light also encourages people to place a light in their window along with a picture of Jesus as a sign to passers-by that it’s a Christian household and Christ is “their light”.

Ezekiel Elliott, Martin Luther, and your soul

Halloween came early for Dallas Cowboys fans last night as a New York court upheld the suspension of their star running back, Ezekiel Elliott. Tonight, more than 179 million Americans will participate in Halloween celebrations, spending $9.1 billion on the holiday.

Meanwhile, nine hundred million Protestants the world over are remembering an event that was far more obscure at the time but soon changed the world.

On October 31, 1517, an unknown monk in a small village nailed a document to the door of the town church. I’ve seen stories on Martin Luther, the Catholic Church, and the Protestant Reformation. But I haven’t seen much coverage of the document that made history.

Luther’s Ninety-five Theses are a set of theological statements regarding the church of his day. Their central concern remains an issue of enormous significance to our culture and our souls today.

    The promise of religion

The subject Luther wanted to address was the selling of “indulgences.” Church historian Michael Whiting explains:

“Indulgences had been available in the church since the Middle Ages. In exchange for the giving of alms towards a religious cause, penitent sinners could be remitted part or all of the acts of penance, or temporal discipline, required for their sins. . . . Now, following a papal bull promulgated in 1476, indulgences could even be purchased on behalf of loved ones suffering in purgatory.”

The slogan of the day was, “When a coin in the coffer clings, a soul from Purgatory springs.”

Luther became convinced that indulgences could not save a person’s soul. To the contrary, he noted, “Christians are to be taught that he who gives to the poor or lends to the needy does a better deed than he who buys indulgences” (Thesis #43). He added: “Christians are to be taught that he who sees a needy man and passes him by, yet gives his money for indulgences, does not buy papal indulgences but God’s wrath” (Thesis #45).

    Luther meant to begin a…
