Gospel singer adds clarity to suicidal comments

Gospel singer Michelle Williams has declared that she was not suicidal while a member of the group.

In an exclusive interview with online blog, the Jasmine Brand quotes her as stating: “I never said that I was suicidal while in the group!!

“I was depressed….that’s factual. Had been depressed BEFORE, DURING and AFTER the group. The suicidal thoughts came years after the group disbanded.”

Earlier, Michelle had been interviewed on US talk show, The Talk, and was quoted as saying: “I didn’t know until I was in my 30s what was going on.

“I just thought it was growing pains. I just thought, ‘I’m turning into a woman.’ I’ve been suffering since the ages of between 13 and 15. At that age, I didn’t know what to call it.”

While being managed in the group by Beyonce’s father, Matthew Knowles, she had said that he did not understand what she was going through, saying: “I’m in one of the top-selling female groups of all time, suffering with depression.

“When I disclosed it to our manager at the time, bless his heart, he was like, ‘Y’all just signed a multi-million dollar deal and you’re about to go on tour. What do you have to be depressed about?’ So I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I’m just tired.’”

Williams was a member of the group between 2000 and 2005, alongside Beyonce and Kelly Rowland.

Evangelist Says 400,000 People Gave Their Lives to Christ at Event in Ukraine

Evangelist Says 400,000 People Gave Their Lives to Christ at Event in Ukraine

Evangelist Nick Vujicic often speaks to massive crowds of people. Recently, he and his team reported that 400,000 people gave their lives to Christ at an event in Ukraine.

Vujicic was born without arms or legs, but that hasn’t stopped him from being involved in an influential ministry, which is called Life Without Limbs.

According to The Christian Post, Vujicic recently held an event in Ukraine and afterward posted a message on Facebook about its abundant success:

“The biggest event that our team at Life Without Limbs has seen and maybe the largest event ever in Europe – 800,000 people in the streets of Kyiv Ukraine! Thank you God,” he posted.

“400,000 repented of their sins and began their spiritual journey with Jesus – Now LWL celebrates the witness of 1 million decisions to walk with and trust God in everything face to face,” he added.

Vujicic also shared that he was in Russia for part of his European evangelism tour. “In Russia for 40 hours. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to meet the President this trip but we continue to plant seeds of love and hope across this country until some unique doors open to share – thank you for your support!”

some Brit IS fighters should reintegrate

His comments come after Rory Stewart, the International Development Secretary, has said British people who convert to IS should be killed in Syria.

He was interviewed on Radio 5-Live where he suggested that British people who join IS are putting themselves at risk from UK and US missiles because they have joined the opposition – therefore they should be killed in Syria.

Lord Richard Dannatt si the formed head of the army and former Vice President of the Armed Forces Christian Union. He gave his perspective: “What Rory Stewart is saying is that those who have chosen to turn their back on our society here and have gone to Syria or Iraq have made a conscious choice to join to the opposition to our society.”

But he said that where he differs if over the fact that not all British IS fighters will die abroad: “Given that so-called Islamic State is now very much on the back foot in Iraq and Syria – the strong hold in Raqqa has pretty much fallen and there are very few safe havens for them – a lot of these people are returning to the United Kingdom. And that’s where we have to have a sensible and reasonable and just response to them.”

Elaborating on this he said: “My own feeling is that…they should be stopped, they should be questioned and interrogated but unless we’ve got clear evidence that they’ve done wrong-doing,  involving  killings,…I think it’s more generous of our society to welcome them back and to re-integrate them into…

Christian Magistrate Fired for Views on Gay Adoption Loses Appeal Case

Christian Magistrate Fired for Views on Gay Adoption Loses Appeal Case

A Christian magistrate in the UK who was fired from his position due to his views on gay adoption has lost his appeals court case.

The Christian Post reports that Richard Page, a magistrate for the Kent and Medway National Health Service Trust, was fired after he stated his opinion on national TV that children are better off when they are placed in a family with a mother and a father rather than in a family comprised of a same-sex couple.

After making this statement, Page was accused of being “biased and prejudiced against single sex adopters.”

Page has defended his beliefs by stating, “My responsibility as a magistrate, as I saw it, was to do what I considered best for the child, and my feeling was therefore that it would be better if it was a man and woman who were the adopted parents.”

The Croydon Employment Tribunal, which denied Page’s appeal, maintained that he was fired not for his views on gay adoption, but because he participated in television media appearances to discuss his views on parenting.

Page remains committed to continuing his legal fight despite this recent setback. He is being backed by the Christian Legal Centre. Andrea Williams of the Centre said that the tribunal’s ruling “makes a mockery of the freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and the rule of law.”

“There is no real difference between suppressing dissent and…

There Are ‘Worse Risks’ Than Death

(Photo: The Gospel Coalition via The Christian Post)Pastor John Piper addresses thousands of women at The Gospel Coalition’s National Women’s Conference in Orlando, Fla., June 23, 2012.

Christian parents should indeed consider taking their children on dangerous mission trips to save unreached people, said evangelical theologian John Piper, who argued that the “eternal impact” is worth the risk of death.

Piper was responding to the question, “should a Christian couple take their children into danger as part of their mission to take the gospel to the unreached peoples of the world?” His answer was “yes.”

“Why? Because the cause is worth the risk, and the children are more likely to become Christ-exalting, comfort-renouncing, misery-lessening exiles and sojourners in this way than by being protected from risk in the safety of this world,” the Reformed pastor wrote on desiringGod.com.

While it is important for parents to provide for their household, they also need to practice self-denial and risk, as instructed in the Bible, he noted.

“After all, doesn’t Proverbs say, ‘Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6)? Perhaps we lose too many of our children because they weren’t trained as soldiers. Maybe we trained…

Bibles denied entry to Sudan for 2 years

A representative of The Bible Society in Sudan told the news website that two containers of Bibles were initially seized but one was released after an appeal to the authorities.

The shipments were destined for Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.

The source, who wished to remain anonymous, said the Bible Society in Sudan does not have a single copy of an Arabic Bible available there.

Other shipments of Bibles at Port Sudan, which is located on the Red Sea, have also been detained over the past two years, he added.

The Bible Society in Sudan representative said a port official in the past week has been more willing to consider releasing the shipment.

Sudan are suspicious of Christianity and associate it with the West.

But Christian leaders have speculated that Sudan may be open to releasing the shipment after the US administration lifted sanctions on 12th October.

The sanctions had been in place since 1997, in response to Sudan’s terrorist ties and human rights violations.

The President Omar al-Bashir, who came to power in 2011, has expressed a wish to adopt a stricter version of Sharia law, and recognise only Islamic culture and the Arabic language.

Church leaders said Sudanese authorities have demolished or confiscated churches and limited Christian literature.

They claim that most Christians have left the country, following South Sudan’s secession in 2011.

From April 2013, the Sudanese Minister of Guidance and Endowments announced that no new licenses would be…

Tim Tebow Will be a Guest on Final Season of ‘Fixer Upper’

Tim Tebow Will be a Guest on Final Season of ‘Fixer Upper’

Tim Tebow, as well as former First Lady Laura Bush, will make appearances on the final season of the popular HGTV show “Fixer Upper.”

According to The Christian Post, while it has not yet been revealed what the special guests will be doing on the show, it is certainly another reason fans are eagerly awaiting the show’s final season.

Tebow, like “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines, is known for his Christian faith, and Laura Bush has a connection with the Gaineses since the Bush family ranch in Crawford, Texas is only about a half hour from Waco, where Chip and Joanna own property and operate their business.

The couple announced that this season–Season 5–would be the show’s last in a blog post last month.

“This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment,” the couple wrote, as previously reported by ChristianHeadlines.com. “Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our business.”

Although the Gaineses are taking a break from TV, they are sure to remain busy with their business, as well as the upcoming release of a cookbook and a new line of products coming to Target stores.

The final season will premiere on Nov. 21 at 9 p.m.
