Topic: Increase Your Self-Acceptance [Saturday October 21, 2017]

[In as much as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), — 2 Corinthians 10:5

As Christians, we don’t have to accept every thought that comes into our heads. Instead, we should measure each thought against the standard of Scripture, like the verse above tells us to do.

Here’s a practical example: If someone hurts your feelings, make the decision right then and there that you won’t be upset with them for days on end. That only gives Satan the opportunity to plant seeds of bitterness.

Instead, you can reject negative thinking and refuse to let it drain you of your peace and joy.

Turn to God and say, “Father, I need Your strength. By faith I choose to receive Your grace to forgive those who mistreated or wronged me. I ask You to bless them and help me go on with my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

As our minds are renewed with God’s Word, our thinking will change and line up with Scripture. Then, day by day, godly boundaries around our thoughts will be established and reinforced. These limits will not only keep out the deception of the enemy, but help you live a more enjoyable, godly life.

Prayer Starter: Lord, I only want to accept right thought that line up with Your way of thinking and speaking. Alert me when the enemy brings a bad thought my way so I can do what Your Word says and take it captive into obedience to You.

Topic: Serve God Only — Saturday October 21, 2017.

Text: Exodus 20:18-26

Key Verse: “Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold” (Exodus 20:23).

God hates anything that competes with Him for pre-eminence in our hearts. Whatever else we do, we must accord Him the rightful place in our lives. Otherwise, He will leave us to our own whims. This was what He did to the Israelites, who rebelled repeatedly in the wilderness and died without entering the Promised Land.

Their offspring were then expected to serve only the living God through obedience to His statutes. But they continued to rebel now and again. They created other gods in total disobedience to the expressed law of God. They began to keep the laws of these gods in order to justify themselves before the idols. They offered their children in sacrifice to their idols.

Instead of trusting in the grace of the Almighty who brought them out of Egypt as a nation, they sought to appease their own guilt by obedience to laws they made for themselves. Despite the punishment that was meted out to their fathers and how the older generation perished in the wilderness, the children of Israel continued in rebellion. This shows the hard-heartedness of the natural man.

When they should appreciate God for what He did for them – the innumerable miracles wrought in their lives – they allowed Satan to continue his dangerous hold on them. We are being challenged to show gratitude to God for all His great works in our lives by being obedient to His word. When you disobey Him or continue in sin, you court His displeasure. But you are then treading the same dangerous and destructive path the children of Israel trod. You can receive grace today to walk in the right path if you allow God have His way.

Thought for the day: The redeemed is made different to make a difference.

Topic — The Calling Of God; The Making Of Man [Saturday October 21, 2017]

Scripture: And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him. Mark 1:17-18

Thought For The Day: God does not call us to mock us; He calls us to make us. When God calls you, He colours you.

One of the greatest privileges on earth is the privilege of being called by God and serving in His vineyard. The calling of God is a calling unto honour (Hebrews 5:4). Being present in the vineyard of God for service is an implication for honour.

The calling of God is for the making of man. God does not call us to mock us; He calls us to make us. When God calls you, He colours you. And no devil can mock whom God has made (Exodus 23:25).

The calling of God has a positive implication for destiny fulfilment. It is worthy of note that the service of God is a deliverance therapy. The service of God imparts man with honour, dignity and respect.

An honourable man is not permitted to experience any trace of misery, reproach or shame because the honour of the calling swallows it up. It is not possible to work for God and people of the world do not see you as an enviable personality.

Beloved, if you are not found wanting in service, God shall not be wanting in blessing you.

Today, I prophesy to you, whatever is contrary to the calling of God for your life is cursed to its roots, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: God does not call us to mock us; He calls us to make us. When God calls you, He colours you.

1. Always put God first before anything else in life.

2. Ensure to involve yourself in a Department or Service Unit in Church and serve faithfully.

Topic: You Are In Charge — Saturday October 21, 2017.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder:…” (Isaiah 9:6 KJV)

The world was in turmoil and in confusion, but God opened Isaiah’s eyes to see a revelation of the birth of His Son. The prophecy of the birth of Jesus was fulfilled when the angel of the Lord came to the shepherds and announced to them; For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:10-11) The gulf of division and separation was created by the fall of man, but with the birth of Jesus, God decided to tabernacle with us, staying in our midst. Anger is over and we have a relationship with God.

So what should you expect? You must expect only good. Only good is permitted to come to your house. The bible says we have a hope that does not make us ashamed nor disappoint because the love of God is shed abroad in our heart. (Romans 5:5) God’s love is unconditional and irrevocable. The beautiful thing about the love of God is that it comes with blessing. He will just not love you; He favours you and ensures that wherever a lack exists in your life, the need is met. He deals with anything harassing you.

Jesus is the Head of the church. And the government is upon His shoulder. The bible also says that we have received the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness to reign in life by Jesus Christ. So whatever is trying to move you off your position of authority is coming down. You are a ruler! Rule in the midst of your enemies. You are in charge. Isaiah gave us a revelation: the government shall be upon his shoulder. It will not be in the government house, the White house, or the Kremlin in Russia. The government will not be with occult people, nor with magicians or with idol worshippers. As believers His government is on our shoulders. Know it therefore, that when you appear they should run. You are in charge. Praise God!

The age-old issue, “Can man save himself, or does he need God?” is still raging across the world as furiously as ever. As long as the world goes on, people will build towers of Babel, fashion their graven images, and invent their own ideologies. Now, as in every period of history, people think they can manage without God.

Economically, they may manage; intellectually, they may manage; socially, they may get by. But down underneath the surface of rational man is a vacuum-a void that can be met only through Jesus Christ. The most astounding fact of all history is that the great and almighty God of heaven can live in your heart. It makes no difference who you are.

Prayer for the day: You fill the emptiness and longing of my soul. I need the presence of Your Spirit, dear Lord.

Topic: Covenant Prosperity [Saturday October 21, 2017]

But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant. – Deuteronomy 8:18

What is God’s reason for prospering His people? Is it so we can watch bigger TVs? So we can buy finer houses and more luxurious cars?

Establishing God’s covenant on the earth and giving to those in need: Those are God’s purposes for prosperity!

I’ve had some people tell me, “Well, Brother Copeland, Jesus’ ministry was poor and He got along just fine.” That’s ridiculous. All the way through the Old Testament God promised material blessings to anyone who would walk perfectly and uprightly before Him. If God had failed to bless Jesus financially, He would have been breaking His own Word.

Jesus never built a worldly empire for Himself. But that doesn’t mean He was poor. It means He was the greatest giver who ever walked the face of this earth—and it’s about time we started following in His footsteps.

If we’ll start giving, if we’ll start taking care of the needs in people’s pocketbooks, we’ll be far more likely to win their hearts.

What do you think will happen to the heart of a starving nation when you bring in a 747 full of food, clothes and medical supplies to them in the Name of Jesus and His love? The hearts of those people are going to soften! They’re going to be willing to listen to what we have to say about Jesus.

Don’t you ever let anyone tell you it’s wrong to want to prosper. It’s wrong for you not to want to prosper when that prosperity can mean the difference between heaven and hell for millions of people.

Forget about your own little needs. Raise your vision and set your mind on giving to meet someone else’s, on establishing God’s covenant in the earth. Then stand fast in faith and get ready to enjoy the greatest prosperity you’ve ever known.
