The number 666 is known by Christians as the mark of the beast and is used to identify the antichrist in the Book of Revelation.
Rev. 3:18 says:”Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six,”
Gemma Hunter, 37, of Bradford, fears her special day with fiance Matthew Hewitt, 38, which has been booked at St Paul’s Chapel in Rhodes for August 2018, may have been scuppered by the “obscene” actions of another couple.
Matthew and Carly Lunn’s photo, appearing to perform a sex act at the sacred Greek monastery, went viral and now there is a suggestion of a ban on all foreign marriages on the island. The photo was said to be a joke.
Hunter, a healthcare assistant, said the wedding was booked in May during a specially-arranged family trip where they fell for the chapel which was a “lovely place and just perfect”.
Hunter, who is waiting for more information from her wedding planner, said: “Now it is all a bit of a shock.
“You imagine how it is all going to be and then to find out that it could all fall apart. We are in limbo.”

Estimating that her wedding party have spent around £20,000, she said: “It is all added stress. We thought we could get married abroad and there would be a wedding planner and it would be straightforward.
“We do not know really what is going on. We have not been told that it has been officially cancelled.”
It has been reported that the mayor of Rhodes is due to make a final decision on the ban in the next couple of weeks.
Hunter and Hewitt have four children between them aged from eight to 11 years old, who were “really excited” about being part of the wedding.
She said: “I have not even told them to be honest that all this is going on and I cannot even show them the picture about why we might not be able to have the wedding there because it is obscene.”
She described the controversial image as “disrespectful”, adding “why would you think to do that in a religious setting?”
Giorgos Eleftheriou, president of Lindos community in Rhodes, told The Times: “I have hundreds of soon-to-be brides from Britain and all over the world calling me today in tears because of this decision. It’s a huge damper on our society here.
“We are one of the most famous wedding destinations in the world and we are booked solid through to 2021.”
According to religious freedom charity Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW), his release follows a review of stringent bail terms which were set on 20th July 2017 and which provoked public outcry.
Initially, Mr Binniyat’s release on bail was dependent on two guarantors posting bonds of 10 million Naira each (approx. USD 31720.00), which they would have had to renew every six months, in addition to surrendering their international passports for the duration of the trial.
According to sources close to Binniyat, although these stringent terms were eventually met, Justice Bashir Sukola refused to release Binniyat, insisting that the bank bonds had to be performance bonds from contractors handling government contracts.
However, during a hearing on 9th October, it was then decided that bail would be granted once three guarantors presented bank statements with at least N10 million in credit. Bail was eventually posted and Binniyat was released.
Binniyat had been detained since 12th July, charged with ‘breach of the peace’ and ‘injurious falsehood,’ in connection with a story he wrote about an attack by armed Fulani herdsmen in southern Kaduna in January 2017 that later proved incorrect.
CSW said he tried to pull the story prior to publication, and issued a public apology for it.
The charity said Binniyat’s case highlights eroding press freedom and persecution of religious minorities.
The Kaduna State governor has been accused of trying to restrict press freedom and silence voices that draw attention to violence in southern Kaduna, where for over a year Fulani herder militia have attacked communities, killing over 800 people and seizing land and property with relative impunity.
Mervyn Thomas, the charity’s Chief Executive said the situation is “deeply concerning”.
He added: “The charges against Mr Binniyat are clearly unwarranted, and we reiterate our call for them to be dropped, and for an end to political prosecutions aimed at suppressing press freedom and restricting freedom of expression.
“We also continue to urge the state government to focus on arresting the real instigators and perpetrators of violence, and on protecting the lives of all citizens, regardless of their creed or ethnicity.”
The Christian charity said the film brings to life the everyday indicators of modern slavery and takes the viewer through common encounters people have.
It also shows where to go for information or to report suspicious activity, and how to link people to The Salvation Army’s support.
The film builds on The Salvation Army’s film last year, which featured Princess Eugenie of York calling on the public to ask businesses who make goods and services people use to review their supply chain for slave labour through social media using the hashtags, #askthquestion and #slavefree.
Princess Eugenie continued her encouragement to survivors and those working in the field earlier this year when she met with women who are recovering from exploitation as modern day slaves at a Salvation Army safe house in Yorkshire.
She said: “For me these amazing women are such an inspiration in the courage they show in overcoming what has happened to them and their desire to help others.
“It is important that everyone understands the reality of the horrendous experiences these women have had to face and that this kind of exploitation is happening every day in every community in our country.”
The Salvation Army’s Director of Anti Trafficking and Modern Slavery, Major Anne Read said: “We now need everyone in the UK to recognise the uncomfortable truth that modern slavery is taking place all around us.
“Everyone should make it their business to understand what to look for and who to tell and we’d urge anyone who wants to join our fight against modern slavery to watch the animation we’ve made, to help them know what the signs are to look out for, that anyone could come across in everyday life.”
The Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights is set to rule on an inheritance case concerning the application of sharia law to a dispute between Greek citizens who are Muslims.
The ruling will determine whether sharia law can have supremacy over a member state’s domestic law.
The court granted Christian Concern permission to intervene in the case of Molla Sali v. Greece.
According to Christian Concern, Ms Molla Sali inherited the entire estate of her husband when he died under the terms of a will that he had drawn up in accordance with Greek law.
Two sisters of her husband are claiming that since her husband was a Muslim, the inheritance should be allocated according to sharia law, adjudicated by the mufti.
There are provisions for sharia law to be applied to Greek nationals who are Muslims.
The charity said the case is important because “a ruling at this level… could have dire effects on the Council of Europe’s 47 member states, including the United Kingdom.” Also, rulings of the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights cannot be appealed.
Christian Concern said it will highlight in court that Sharia law is out of line with European law.
It said in a statement: “A network of sharia courts is operating across the country, creating a de facto parallel legal system which undermines the fundamental principle of one law for all.
“[The intervention] also highlights the discriminatory nature of sharia law which means, for example, that non-Muslims cannot inherit from Muslims, and females only inherit half of what is due to males.”
It added: “Sharia law is fundamentally incompatible with human rights, and our intervention explains that the Universal Islamic Declaration of Human Rights restricts freedom of speech and freedom of religion, as does the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights.
Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali, whose expertise was used in the intervention, commented: “Sharia law is based on the inequality of certain kinds of persons whereas western public law is based on the equality of all persons.
“Muslims, like people of any other faith, are free to practise their faith, but because sharia is incompatible with western public law, it should not be given supremacy over the domestic law of western states.
“The specific case in this part of Greece is based on an historic agreement that should not be applied to the rest of Europe or taken as a precedent for the rest of Europe.”
The case is set to be heard in the Grand Chamber on 6 December 2017.
Like an artist dropping a new album without any warning, Darren Wilson and his company, WP Films, just launched an exciting new online channel called WP TV, that they’ve been secretly working on for months. We caught up with Darren to ask him about this new endeavor, as well as to find out what’s coming up for him and his company.
Let’s start with the obvious first. What is WP TV?
Put simply, it’s an online channel that’s fully dedicated to kingdom content like what we’ve been doing for 10 years with our films. But unlike your typical network style channel, where you simply have to watch whatever the programmers say you have to watch at that particular moment, the online platform allows for more of a choose-your-own-adventure experience. It’s kind of like YouTube or Netflix but with a laser focus on the kinds of things we do in the realm of the miraculous, Holy Spirit, and God’s kingdom becoming more of a reality in people’s lives around the world.
Why now?
It’s funny, but when I was making my first film, Finger of God, over 10 years ago now, the very first prophetic word I ever received from someone was that I would have my own channel that would play my stuff 24/7 around the world. At the time I thought that was absurd because I wasn’t even finished with my first movie that I was convinced no one would watch anyway, so why would I have a channel? I mean, the concept of online streaming was just barely in its infancy at the time, so this was way off the radar. And over the years, I had many, many different people give me the same word, almost verbatim, but of course, I always thought that was just crazy. But while making all these new TV shows in this past season, I suddenly had an enormous amount of new content and as I sought the Lord on what to do next, He started to reveal this vision of WP TV and what it could be, and the whole thing just kind of finally clicked for me. It was only after we started developing it that the Lord reminded me of all those words from the past that I thought were so stupid at the time!
What can people expect from this, especially those who have maybe been with you on this journey for a while and have purchased some of your films in the past? What is different here, and how will people benefit from this new channel?
It was important to me to create something that was really fresh for people who’ve been with us for a long time, but also that had that aroma of the familiar. All our content is on there, and putting this together I was reminded of just how much content we’ve amassed over the years! But beyond just the films and specials and TV shows, I’ve been able to go back and chop everything up and organize it in a really easy-to-use way. For instance, for all my films, we have Deluxe Editions, that just have loads of extras on them. In the past, you’d have to sit through huge chunks of extra content to see everything, and you were never quite sure what was included or what was coming up. With WP TV, all of that content has been separated and organized, so now you can see all your options and just choose whatever you’re in the mood for. And as the channel grows, so will our organizational structure. It’s really exciting. Add to that the new exclusive content I’m creating for this channel, and the future is wide open for this thing.
Over the past year, you’ve dipped your toe into the world of television and shorter form series like Adventures With God and Questions With God. Will those be included here, and can we expect more things like that in the future?
First of all, yes, everything we’ve ever created or will create will be on WP TV. But yes, even though I’ll be heading back into making feature films next year, I’ve discovered the joys of shorter-form stuff while making these shows. That’s actually always been one of my biggest frustrations in the past—I’d hear about God doing something awesome, or I’d be hanging out with someone amazing with tons of wisdom or great stories, but if I wasn’t making a movie at the time, and that thing didn’t fit the theme of the film I was working on at the moment, I’d just be out of luck. I had no outlet for these smaller, independent stories. But with WP TV, I finally have the outlet I’ve always dreamed of. If something is happening, I just have to get myself there and film it. Then within a matter of days, we can get it up for people. The same goes for my interviews with amazing people. Now I can focus on all kinds of topics, current events, whatever. I’m no longer beholden to just the focus of a film topic. I can jump all over the place.
I’ll be starting off with a brand-new web series made exclusively for WP TV, called Conversations. I realized that one of the coolest assets God has given me is access to some pretty amazing people around the world. Ministers, evangelists, athletes, rock stars—I have a fairly eclectic friend set! So I wanted to create something with the people I come in contact with that is unique, fresh and fun but also reveals things that the public may not be aware of. We’ll talk about all kinds of things, and I want to shoot it in a cool way, again, to take it beyond the normal sit-down interview, which has just grown so old and stale. With a web series, I can push the creative boundaries a bit. And eventually, I hope to be able to bring in content from other voices than just mine—there are a lot of really talented people around the world who don’t have an outlet for their stories like I do. I’d love to be able to highlight other voices and styles as well.
How will people be able to watch?
They can go to wpfilm.tv to sign up. It’s going to be a monthly subscription, in the same vein as Netflix. I hope people can catch the vision for this thing, because it can really grow into something cool. But people have to come alongside us for that to happen. Right now, the most precious commodity in the world is your attention—there’s just so much vying for it—and we’re just a small, little blip for most people. But our fan base is one of the most amazing groups I’ve ever seen. The loyalty they have to what we create is second to none. And I really want to take care of those who have come with us for this entire journey, and offer them something we can all grow with together.
The cool thing about WP TV is the platform we’re using. We’ve been working with a company called VHX, which is owned by Vimeo, and it’s a super solid, slick and simple platform. And since they have an app that works on just about everything (iPhones, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, etc.), people can have WP TV pretty much at their fingertips no matter where they are. They’re not stuck to a computer anymore.
Why start your own service instead of having your content on a platform that already exists?
Well, we’ve kind of gotten to a point where we simply have too much content for any of the existing platforms. Places like Netflix, if they even want to license your content, will only want certain pieces of it. We had toyed with putting this on YouTube, but then they did away with their paid subscription service. But we also really like the control having our own service gives us, not just in how things are presented, but especially for the future. If enough people come on board with us, it opens up the possibility for us to feature other artists as well.
What kind of content will be featured on WP TV? You mention other voices. What would that look like?
Initially it will feature our content exclusively, but I’m not sure even our most ardent fans have a true idea how much content that actually is. I mean, at launch alone we’re going to give you over 300 separate things to watch. And that is going to grow exponentially as I head into this new season of creating. But I would love to be a place for new voices to emerge, new styles and stories to be told by people around the world. Obviously we need to prove ourselves as a viable outlet for artists first, but for launch we know we’re giving you a ton of stuff to watch right out of the gate.
I also think it’s important for people to realize that we’re not trying to be Netflix or Pureflix or YouTube. That’s not the vision for this thing. We’ve always been a fairly niche company, and WP TV is finally owning up to it and embracing that niche. Some people may balk that the monthly subscription costs more than Netflix does and we don’t offer as much as they do. I totally get it. But again, this is as much about people who love what we do coming alongside us in support for what we do, so that we can keep doing it and keep creating the kind of media no one else in the world is creating on this level. So where other services are totally geared towards a simple transaction, we realize that we’ll never have as much content as Netflix or Pureflix, nor do we want to. On the one hand, we fill a major void in Christian media, and on the other people treat us as missionaries in a way, and this is a simple way for them to support us as such while also getting something pretty cool out of their support.
What’s next for WP?
Making 80 TV episodes in a year-and-a-half has obviously taken up all my time, and we’re nearing the end of that season thankfully. Besides launching WP TV and the new web series, in 2018 we’ll be releasing Finger of God 2, which was directed by my good friend Will Hacker, and I’ll start making the final chapter in these God-umentaries, The God Man, which will focus on Jesus. We’re in the process of trying to raise money for that one, which is going to be one heck of a finale, let me tell you. I’ll shoot that throughout 2018, with a release set for sometime in 2019. I’ve learned to not look too far beyond a year or two out at this point, because stuff always changes it feels like! But that’s what we know for sure, anyway.

God is more interested in the attitude with which you give than in what you give. He knows to what extent He has blessed you, and He expects your acts of giving to reflect this. Each time we sow, God allows our seed to multiply. Since I have been giving to God, I have never known a better yesterday, because God is always doing something new in my life l always pity those who do not give to God. This is foolishness, because there is nothing you have today that you have not received from God. At the table of the Almighty set before you, you are permitted to take what you want and as much as you want (Psalm 23:5). There is no scarcity in Heaven, and this is why God has promised to open the windows of heaven to pour out a blessing on those who obey His commandments concerning tithes, offerings, and sowing to kingdom assignments and charities. Your acts of giving must be done cheerfully and not grudgingly.

He brought his offering with an upright heart, and he also offered a sacrifice that was well pleasing to God. When people are not sincere with God, it doesn’t matter how many sermons they have listened to, or how many hours they have spent in the place of prayer, things will still always go wrong with them. God was not pleased with Cain’s sacrifice because his heart was not right before Him. Cain was envious of his brother’s blessings and he failed to focus on his own heart. May your sacrifice not be rejected before God in Jesus Name. Cain was a wicked man, operating under the influence of the flesh; therefore, his sacrifice was an abomination before God. Proverbs 15:8 says,
“The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.”
If a tree is good, its fruits will be good. God is interested in the fruits we bear. Abel was careful in the choice of his sacrifice. He intentionally used the best of his flock because he understood that if you give your best to God, He will in turn give His best to you. Endeavour to always give the best of your life to God, and see how He will respond.

Here’s the story behind the jack-o’-lanterns people carve for Halloween. (Public Domain Pictures)
The upcoming Halloween celebration dates back to the Druids, who used the holiday for various pagan religious practices including human sacrifice. There is nothing Christian about it.
Yet there is one interesting story about the Halloween celebration, which illustrates how the pagans tried to appropriate the stars into their religions. It is the story of the jack-o’-lantern, that pumpkin with a face carved out and a candle inside. This seemingly benign decoration represents a much more gruesome picture from the rituals of past ages: A frightful severed head. And the picture comes straight from the Star Bible, even though the real meaning is very different.
The “jack-o’-lantern” in the sky is the star Algol (“evil spirit”). It is part of the constellation Perseus, (the breaker) which is a picture of Christ, who breaks open a way for us (Mic. 2:13) and breaks open the seals in Revelation 5. Algol pictures the severed evil head of the nations, the Antichrist, whose head is cut off from the nations when Christ returns (Rev. 19:20). So the frightful jack-o’-lantern is really a picture of the return and triumph of Christ.
The Star Algol would have been near the zenith point on Halloween after midnight in Druid times 3,000 years ago. Now it can be seen closer to 11:00 p.m. It is also an interesting object, because it is a variable star decreasing in brightness about every 69 hours, with the nearest visible minimum at about 2:00 a.m. on Oct. 13.
This year a small comet, ASASSN 1, adds to the picture as it runs through Perseus on its way toward the North Pole. The comet reaches its maximum brightness on Oct. 14, but will be a faint magnitude 6 or 7 object best viewed through binoculars or a small telescope. On that date, it passes near the bright star Capella (the goat) in the constellation Auriga (the shepherd), which reminds us that Christ is our Good Shepherd who will keep us safe in the day of judgment shown by Perseus (2 Pet. 2:9).
So tonight, find the Halloween star, Algol, and tell someone about how Christ our Good Shepherd will protect us from the judgment to come.
