Thought For The Day: To believe is to see the goodness of the Lord.

Some time ago, one of our church members went to the bank to withdraw some money. The amount of money she requested for was given to her but when she got home, she discovered that instead of the cashier giving her the money in same denominations per bundle, she found higher denominations sandwiched between the denominations given to her. So, the amount of money was multiplied many times. But for integrity sake, she went to the bank and narrated her experience thinking the cashier who paid her made a mistake. After diligent check, they said to her, ‘No! We paid you what we were meant to pay you.’

We serve a God who is committed to supplying limitless resources to His covenant people even in critical times.

Now, how can we access supernatural supplies?

One of the ways we can access supernatural supplies is through faith in God. There is a connection between faith and supernatural supplies. Psalm 27:13 says, I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord….

So, to believe is to see the goodness of the Lord.

Beloved, if you want to access supernatural supplies even when there is scarcity in the world, believe God’s Word concerning your prosperity and act in line with His Word.

Remember this: To believe is to see the goodness of the Lord.

1. Determine to be committed in your tithing.

2. Ask God to open your eyes to see where your wealth is.

3. Believe everything God has spoken concerning your prosperity.

Eating too much sugar basically bombards your taste buds and eventually this excessive sugar intake causes your taste bud sugar tolerance to build up and increase, as a result you need more and more sugar to satisfy your sweet craving. This is bad and you should at this point cut back (regardless of how tough it might be at first), so that you can lower your tolerance and once again be content and satisfied with minimal sugar.

Topic: A Troubled Night [13/04/2017]

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:44. Read: Mk 14:32-36

It was a night different from other nights. Other nights, He separated Himself to commune with His Father in prayer. But the eve before His crucifixion was an agonizing one. A night in which His soul was sorrowful unto death. A night in which He bore the sin of the whole world upon His shoulder. A night His human side surfaced and wished the Lord took away the cup of death from Him, not His Will but God’s will be done. A night He knew that His Father will leave Him not permanently but momentarily, but that moment came with excruciating pain. A night He was between the options of either going to the cross or denying it. But for our Salvation, He endured the humiliation from sinners whom He came to die for. They spat on Him, mocked Him and ridiculed Him. Oh, what a night!

He knew His Father would leave Him at the moment He bore my sin and yours upon Himself because God cannot behold iniquity (not even upon His only begotten Son) Hab 1:13, He took along His intimate human friends, but they disappointed Him when they could not watch with Him for an hour. What a troubled night for my Saviour!

A song writer wrote a song and said, in heaven, God called a meeting that comprises of both the angels and the Son and asked, who shall go to the earth and die for the sin of humanity? He called angel Michael, he told God that humanity is not qualified for him to die for. Angel Gabriel said the same thing. Then Jesus stood up and said to His Father, I will go and die for them because of my love for them. I must save them from the impending judgment.

Jesus left the splendour of His throne to the earth to bear upon Himself your sin, my sin and that of the whole world. Jesus didn’t come to the earth to die for Himself, His Father or the angels but humanity. He felt the pains we feel, He ate what we eat and walked the earth just like you and I. Topic: High Praises of God [Wednesday April 12, 2017]

Let the saints be joyful in the glory and beauty [which God confers upon them]; let them sing for joy upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their throats and a two-edged sword in their hands. — Psalm 149:5-6

We should form a habit of thanking and praising God as soon as we wake up each morning. While we are still lying in bed, let’s give thanks and fill our minds with Scripture.

Praise defeats the devil quicker than any other battle plan. Praise is an invisible garment that we put on and it protects us from defeat and negativity in our minds. But it must be genuine, heartfelt praise, not just lip service or a method being tried to see if it works. We praise God for the promises in His Word and for His goodness.

Worship is a battle position! As we worship God for Who He is and for His attributes, for His ability and might, we draw closer to Him and the enemy is defeated.

We can never be too thankful! Thank God all day long and remember the many things He has done for you.

God never loses a battle. He has a definite battle plan, and when we follow Him, we will always win.

Topic: Divine Visitation II [Wednesday 12, April 2017]

10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Bible in One Year: Leviticus 23-24, Jeremiah 12

MESSAGE:

14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. 15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother. 16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. – Luke 7:14-16

The account of events in the above passage of Scripture is indicative of what a divine visitation looks like. Divine visitation with its attendant supernatural occurrences brings joy to the heart of those visited. I pray that God will visit you today and your joy shall be full in Jesus’ Name. In our Bible text today, Prophet Jeremiah gave a revelation concerning the future deliverance of Israel from bondage. He prophesied that this would be realised by the power of divine visitation. When God comes visiting, He comes with deliverance from bondage and servitude like He did when He visited the children of Israel in Egypt (Exodus 4:31). When the children of Israel, because of their spiritual decadence found themselves in Babylonian bondage again, His love for His friend, Abraham their father, compelled Him to promise another divine visitation. In Jeremiah 29:10, He sent His word to them in Babylon saying:

“For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.”

Also, Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, prophesied under the influence of the Holy Spirit about the coming of redemption of Israel through yet another divine visitation (Luke 1:68). Divine visitation brought salvation to mankind, when God personally came in the form of man to dwell among us, suffered, died and rose again so that we may obtain salvation (1 Timothy 3:16). Beloved, do you want a divine visitation of salvation? Jesus Christ says this to you today:

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” – Revelations 3:20

Open the door of your heart to him today, accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour, and He will come in right away and give you the gift of salvation.

Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, please visit me today, make Your abode in my life and give me Your gift of salvation.

Topic: Folly Of Earthly Pleasures [Wednesday April 12, 2017]

Text: Isaiah 5:11-17

Key Verse: “And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands” (Isaiah 5:12).

Underneath every scramble for success and achievement in the things of this life is the quest for pleasure and easy life. The ultimate ambition of the average man is to so amass material goods that he can tell himself “…Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry” (Luke 12:19).

There came a time when the Jews were working hard to gain worldly goods, to the detriment of their souls. They were prepared to perpetrate any kind of heinous acts to excel in their ventures. To them, the end justified the means. With sweet music from such delicate instruments as the harp, violin, tambourine and flute, the men and women would settle down to dance and drink, revelling all day long. Sensuality reigned in their midst.

Expectedly, while they were pandering to the desires of the flesh, they had no time for God. The Jews clearly paint a picture of materialism and sensuality in today’s world. Men who turn their back on worldly pleasures and do God’s will are deemed to be strange. The worldly do not mind God or His goodness. They erroneously believe that gain is godliness. Their actions promote corruption and all kinds of crimes. The careless are easily swept away by this swift-moving tide that leads to pain, misery and destruction. As the materially-minded have no time for the Lord, they eventually fall into the clutches of the devil. Their riches are soon frittered away.

Then, God steps in to claim their souls, which rightly belong to Him. He will say to them exactly what He said to the rich fool (Luke 12:20). But those who refuse to be tainted by the sweeping wind of compromise and conformity to the world have manifold blessings in this life, “…and in the world to come, life everlasting” (Luke 18:30). The question is, where do you stand?

Thought for the day: Better to possess godliness than be obsessed with vanities.
