Christian Post Report – Popular Christian entertainer Carman Licciardello, mononymously known as Carman, recently overcame an intense battle with cancer but his fight is not over yet. The singer is currently in the hospital and is asking fans to pray for him as his body is under attack yet again.

The artist was rushed to the hospital Sunday after a concert because he was suffering from chronic chest pain. It is not the first time he ended up in the hospital because of chest pain, but on Memorial Day of 2015, the New Jersey native spent some time in the hospital after suffering multiple heart attacks. In a detailed Facebook message Carman revealed this time around he landed in the ER because of stress.

“SO GLAD TO SEE YOUR FACE: Two hours sleep, no food since Sunday and 10 needles later I can say, Yes the rumor is true. I was taken to the ER on the last day of tour in Belton TX. It’s been a very stressful tour with lots of technical difficulties and frustrations. Not to mention an 18 city string of one nighters. Put it all together and it’s doesn’t turn out well for Uncle Carm. I try really hard to make things great for my supporters and fans. Everyone continues to give so generously to our gofundme.com/carman that I really really want the show to be better each time I walk out and the most anointed visual spectacle you’ve ever seen. Ok, Ok, I know I overdid it. I’ve been having bad chest pains for the past 2 weeks. Finally the last couple days it got really severe and the guy who picked me up at the hotel was a medic and wanted to go straight to the hospital. I wanted to do the last show. People have bought tickets and waited in line. No way was I going to not show up. So when the concert was over I walked off the stage into a car zooming straight for the ER. So far the doctors are saying it’s all stress related but I’m just starting the tests now. I’ve only gotten 2 hours of sleep and no food since Sunday so I’m dying to get a meatball sandwich. Please keep me in your prayers. Yes, we are adjusting the tech issues and dialing down the number of dates in a row. But it’s good to be alive, cancer free and have all these places to minister. I’ll keep you informed as I know more. I’m sure you all have some good advice comments so I guess I’m just gonna have to sit here and read them all : )”

In September of last year, Carman launched a Go Fund Me campaign for a New CD and Tour called, “The History Of Worship PT. 1”. His vision behind the upcoming album is to combine classic hymns mixed with innovative worship songs and produce an album for the passionate music fan of 2016.

Carman, now cancer-free, maintains that what he does is music ministry and plainly told fans that if there’s no new music, there’s no new ministry. With a goal to “win souls,” he has raised $148,008 so far out of the $400,000 campaign.

A bear bone discovered in Ireland has changed the way archaeologists view human history in the region, experts say.

Radiocarbon dating performed on a bear’s knee bone discovered in 1903 at the Alice and Gwendoline Cave in County Clare, on the country’s western coast, has found that humans were present in the region 2,500 years before previously thought.

Cuts and marks on the bone indicate the bear had been inexpertly butchered by humans, archaeologists say.

While humans were originally believed to be present in Ireland in 8,000 B.C., this evidence dates them back to 10,500 B.C.

Marion Dowd, an archaeologist overseeing the testing of County Clare artifacts, told The Guardian that the discovery “adds a new chapter to the human history of Ireland.”

“Archaeologists have been searching for the Irish Palaeolithic since the 19th century, and now, finally, the first piece of the jigsaw has been revealed,” Dowd added.

Dowd, along with research associate Ruth Carden, told The Irish Times that the discovery is a “starting point” for finding more evidence of humans living in the Palaeolithic period in the European country.

“[It] is very likely that the date of human existence in Ireland will be pushed back even further,” the researcher said.

According to the Smithsonian, Dowd, who is an archaeologist at the Institute of Technology Sligo, added that the find also provides insight to the tactics of hunters and scavengers at the time.

“[T]he location of the marks spoke of someone trying to cut through the tough knee joint, perhaps someone who was inexperienced,” Dowd said in a statement reported by the Smithsonian, adding “in their repeated attempts, they left seven marks on the bone surface. The implement used would probably have been something like a long flint blade.”

 Dowd added that the dating results of the bone came as “quite a shock.”

“Here we had evidence of someone butchering a brown bear carcass and cutting through the knee probably to extract the tendons. Yes, we expected a prehistoric date, but the Paleolithic result took us completely by surprise,” she added.

According to the Irish Times, the bear’s meat was likely used for food, while its fur could have been used as a garment. Additionally, its tendons might have been used to make thread.

It remains unclear if the bear had been actively hunted or found dead, although it is evident that the slash marks on its knee were made shortly after its death.

A recent discovery in Denmark has also changed how archaeologists view history in the region.

Earlier this month, an amateur archaeologist discovered a small cross pendant in a bog in the town of Anslev, Østfyn.

The pendant, according to experts, dates the beginning of Christianity in the region back to 950 B.C., 15 years prior to what was originally believed.

Malene Refshauge Beck, an archaeologist at Østfyn’s museum, said in a statement that the discovery could “change history” and researchers’ perception of Christianity in Europe.

 “In recent years there has been more and more signs that Christianity was widespread earlier than previously thought — and here the clearest evidence so far,” Beck said, as reported by The Christian Post.

Christian Post Report – Minnesota man leaves about 30,000 toy cars to church he attended.

A Minnesota church found approximately 30,000 toy cars, and a few classic real ones, in a house donated to it in the will of a recently deceased member.

Celebration Church of Lakeville inherited the home of a church usher named Dennis Erickson who died last December. Inside the home were legions of toy cars.

Lisa Lundstrom, director of finances and human resources at Celebration Church, told The Christian Post about how they came upon the discovery.

“The middle of December I received a phone call from an attorney in Eagan telling me that Dennis had died and left almost his entire estate to the ministry and church,” explained Lundstrom. “I met with the attorney and then entered the house to realize just what that gift represented.”

Lundstrom described the collection as “too vast to describe” and that Erickson “had just about every size die-cast car.”

Man leaves behind about 30,000 cars, most of them toys but some classics, to a Minnesota church.

An Assemblies of God congregation founded in 1996, Celebration Church’s automobile discovery has recently caught the attention of local media.

“Shelves filled with scale model cars filled the foyer — then kept going. Kitchen, living room, bedrooms, family room — every available space was covered with cars,” reported KARE Channel 11 earlier this week.

“Meticulously displayed in Erickson’s house and two garages are more than 30,000 cars, including a full size Model T Ford, a ’59 Edsel and a ’66 Rambler.”

Celebration Church believes that the total financial amount of the collection may go into the six figures, with plans still under way on how to deal with the estate.

“We are making slow decisions to maximize the tremendous gift to further the ministry here and around the world through our missions support. We want to do his estate and wishes the right way, not just a fast way,” explained Lundstrom to CP.

Leading Southern Baptist ethicist Russell Moore is calling on Christians to stop “bashing” the millennial generation as lazy, entitled and self-obsessed, arguing that millennials are actually “far more committed” to sharing the Gospel with people outside of Christian subcultures.

Moore, who is the president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, wrote an op-ed titled “Are Millennials Selfish and Entitled?” that was posted to his blog last week and to the Baptist Press Monday.

The piece argues that although the millennial generation gets a bad rap from older generations, millennials are not lazier or more selfish than previous generations.

Moore’s inspiration for the piece came after a woman in her 20s wrote a blog “An Open Letter To My CEO” criticizing her employer, Yelp, because she wasn’t being paid enough in order for her to live comfortably in San Francisco.

“The post … caused many to point out that millennials are, as a generation, lazy, self-obsessed and entitled,” Moore wrote. “The controversy caught my attention because I tend to hear similar things within the Church directed toward millennial Christians.”

“I don’t feel qualified to speak to the general group psychology of the entire generation of millennials, but I have spent most of my time for the past decade or so around millennial Christians, and I think the nasty caricatures of them are just not true,” Moore continued.

Moore stated that over the course of “church history,” each generation tends to see the upcoming generation as “carnal, unorthodox, unevangelized and uncommitted.” However, Moore claims the notion is not true.

“Are there lazy, entitled, narcissistic Christian millennials? Of course there are,” Moore admits. “But I see no evidence that there are any more of them than there are lazy, entitled, narcissistic Baby Boomers or Gen-Xers or any other age cohort. In many ways, I see just the opposite.”

Moore explained that most Christian millennials are “far more theologically rooted” than their parents and they are “far more committed to reaching outside of Christian subcultures to share the Gospel with people not like them.”

“On the whole, though, I find the millennial generation’s grasp of Gospel Christianity far better than what we’ve seen in a long time,” he wrote. “They tend to be better at articulating a Christian vision of life, because they’ve had to do so all their lives, never able to count on a pseudo-Christian culture to do pre-evangelism for them.”

Although many are quick to criticize the millennial generation for not taking advice from their elders, Moore contends that he has rarely seen millennials ignoring advice from their elders.

“As a matter of fact, I see them begging for such guidance,” Moore wrote.

Drawing on his own interactions with students at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Moore explained that most students rely on well-known preachers that they listen to on the Internet for guidance instead of local preachers they know.

“When I talked to the students, I found that their reliance on these faraway voices was not because they had rejected flesh-and-blood mentoring but because they’d never found it, and didn’t know how to,” Moore asserted. “As a matter of fact, the No. 1 question I get from millennial Christians is how they can find mentors.

We cannot refuse to put the hard work in of mentoring younger men and women, and then lambaste them because we don’t like the way they carry out their ministries. That’s not only counter-productive, it’s also, well, lazy, entitled and self-obsessed.”

Even though their is a temptation for younger people to ignore the advice of their elders, Moore stated that there is also a temptation among the older generations to react to the younger generation with “envy.”

“It is much easier, like Saul, to throw spears at the next generation than it is, like Paul, to pour one’s life into the next generation,” Moore added. “Let’s stop the millennial bashing, in public and in private. Let’s thank God that he has given us a vibrant, Gospel-focused, Christ-following next generation. We can have lots of differing opinions on the finer details of eschatology, but, when it comes to the more immediate future, we should all be pro-millennial.”

The television ratings for Tyler Perry’s “The Passion,” a semi-live musical that put a contemporary spin on the centuries-old story of Christ’s last days on Earth, were modest compared to another musical that aired on Fox earlier this year.

With a star-studded cast that included Trisha Yearwood as the Virgin Mary, Chris Daughtry as Judas, and Seal portraying Pontius Pilate, the Palm Sunday broadcast held the attention of 6.6 million viewers — a modest showing that was nearly half the audience of Fox’s other musical, “Grease: Live,” which netted 12.2 million viewers in late January, according to TVLine. “The Passion” earned a 1.6 demo rating among viewers ages 18 to 49.

All things considered, Perry’s musical was up against stiff competition with a new episode of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and the new NBC variety show “Little Big Shots.”

As the show’s host and narrator, Perry guided audiences through Jesus’ trial, The Last Supper, Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection using a mix of live stage performances and pre-recorded scenes as crowds followed a 20-foot illuminated cross that advanced through the streets of New Orleans’ French Quarter throughout the broadcast, arriving to the stage at the appointed time.

“What I love about this show is that the death and resurrection is being told in modern day times so a lot of people can understand it, and understand that this really happened,” Perry told The Christian Post just days ahead of the live broadcast.

“There’s so many young people, kids and millennials, who have no faith. They don’t believe in anything, and I feel that a lot of them are getting away from the God of our mothers and fathers and grandfathers and grandmothers.”

The musical’s contemporary score may have captured the interest of some younger viewers. Songs like Phillip Phillips’ “Home,” Whitney Houston’s “Your Love is My Love,” “Mad World” by Tears for Fears and Tina Turner’s “We Don’t Need Another Hero” — to name a few — gave the show a modern twist and context.

Its diverse cast, which included “Telanovela” actor Jencarlos Canela as Jesus, likely drew a cross-section of viewers. The musical was also Seal’s first acting gig. The British singer/songwriter rendered a touching live performance of “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” with his signature tenor voice. The music is what attracted him to the role.

“It was the songs that actually drew me to take on the part, because I love that song ‘Mad World,'” he recently told NPR. “And so they kind of lulled me into a false sense of security by saying, ‘Oh, you’ll sing this song. By the way, there’s a little bit of acting involved, too.'”

Manny Pacquiao has lost more than just a Nike contract and supporters after speaking out about his stance on homosexuality. Now the Christian Filipino boxer has been banned from the popular oudoor retail and entertainment complex in Los Angeles, California, known as The Grove.

Pacquiao and his entourage caught a movie at The Grove recently, but the mall’s owner Rick Caruso said Pacquiao would be banned from the resort-like mall that plays host to many celebrities and Hollywood events.

“Manny Pacquiao is no longer welcome,” The Grove owner Rick Caruso told TMZ. “These are statements of hatred. A lot of people from the gay community come to The Grove and they have a right not to feel uncomfortable.”

The statement from the mall owner comes one month after Pacquiao made international headlines for saying in a TV interview in his home country that he is opposed to homosexuality and referencing animals in his explanation.

“It’s common sense. Do you see animals mating with the same sex? Animals are better because they can distinguish male from female,” Pacquiao told Filipino television station TV5. “If men mate with men and women mate with women, they are worse than animals.”

The pugilist and Filipino politician vying for a senatorial position in his home country was previously banned from the mall four years ago for using the Bible to support his stance on homosexuality.

“Based on news reports of statements made by Mr. Pacquiao, we have made it be known that he is not welcome at The Grove and will not be interviewed here now or in the future,” a previous tweet from The Grove account read in 2012, according to LA Times. “The Grove is a gathering place for all Angelenos and not a place for intolerance.”

Although the ban was eventually lifted, Pacquiao has angered the mall’s officials once again. After his initial comments concerning the LGBT community last month, the eight-division world champion boxer has apologized for offending people.

“I’m sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I’ve hurt,” Pacquiao wrote as a caption for an Instagram video last month. “I still stand on my belief that I’m against same sex marriage because of what the Bible says, but I’m not condemning LGBT. I love you all with the love of the Lord. God Bless you all and I’m praying for you.

Now the pugilist is focusing on his next fight against Timothy Bradley on April 9. After that, he may be headed to the Olympics.

“It would be my honour to represent the country in the Olympics,” he told AFP earlier this month. “If I would be asked to represent boxing, why not. I would do everything for my country.”

Christian Post Report –  If you had asked me three months ago what the greatest threat to evangelicalism is, I might have said the evangelical Left. For the past decade, I have been dismayed as more and more professed evangelicals have abandoned biblical orthodoxy and have embraced gay marriage, socialism and recently — the notion that Muslims and Christians worship the same God.

These pose very real threats, undermining the integrity of the church and its witness to a lost and dying world. But now, evangelicalism has an equally pernicious foe — the Trumpian, evangelical Right.

At first, I couldn’t believe the news reports. Donald Trump could not possibly be the choice of the Religious Right. How could a man who flaunts his moral indiscretions, uses foul language, insults the handicapped, and praises Planned Parenthood become the darling of evangelical voters? Add to this the fact that Trump openly advocated murdering the family members of terrorists. And, when challenged on whether the military would follow his murderous and illegal order, Trump responded: “They won’t refuse. They’re not gonna refuse me.”

Marilyn Manson’s face is plastered on fellow musician Justin Bieber’s tour apparel that reads “bigger than satan.” Now the shock rocker and self-proclaimed satanist is firing back with a shirt of his own.

Manson took to Instagram Friday to post a picture of himself wearing a Bieber t-shirt. While the image on the black t-shirt is cut off, Bieber’s name is in the camera’s focus.

The rock-and-roller captioned his photograph “bigger than Bieber.”

Two days later, the pair bumped into one another during a night out on the town in Los Angeles after Bieber’s Staples Center performance.

“Night out in la with the boys,” Bieber simply captioned the image of him and Manson taking a picture.

Jerry Lorenzo designed Bieber’s Manson shirt that he wears before countless fans on his “Purpose” tour. Lorenzo is the founder of the clothing line called Fear Of God, which Bieber tapped for some of his tour attire.

“Man, my tour is coming up. I really want you to do it,” Lorenzo recalled Bieber telling him in a WWD report.

Justin Bieber tapped clothing designer Jerry Lorenzo of Fear Of God to create his outfits for his Purpose Tour 2016. One shirt has the phrase “Bigger Than Satan” on the back and the face of rock singer and satanist Marilyn Manson on the front.

Bieber is willing to literally wear his faith on his sleeve and has never shied away from speaking up about his Christian faith.

The 22-year-old singer opened up about his relationship with God keeping him from being a bad person.

“I feel like that’s why I have a relationship with Him, because I need it. I suck by myself,” he said in a GQ magazine interview last month. “Like, when I’m by myself and I feel like I have nothing to lean on? Terrible. Terrible person.”

Although he admits to doing “stupid” things, the “Sorry” singer said his actions would be worse without God.

“If I was doing this on my own, I would constantly be doing things that are, I mean, I still am doing things that are stupid, but…It just gives me some sort of hope and something to grasp onto,” Bieber said. “…a feeling of security, and a feeling of being wanted, and a feeling of being desired, and I feel like we can only get so much of that from a human.”

Bieber came into the public eye as a global phenomenon at only 13-years-old, and despite a few years of being bashed by media for his bad behaviors, he recently is striving to be more like Jesus.

“I just wanna honestly live like Jesus. Not be Jesus… I don’t want that to come across weird. He created a pretty awesome template of how to love people and how to be gracious and kind,” Bieber told Complex magazine last year. “If you believe it, he died for our sins. Sometimes when I don’t feel like doing something, but I know it’s right, I remember, I’m pretty sure Jesus didn’t feel like going to the cross and dying so that we don’t have to feel what we should have to feel.”

When fans of Fantasia Barrino ask the mainstream R&B singer to make a full-fledged gospel music album, she has a reason for turning them down.

“I’ve released four gospel albums and working on the fifth one,” the 31-year-old Christian singer tweeted in response to a fan.

Barrino’s tweet came after one fan wrote, “Please say you have plans to do a Gospel cd,”

Last year, the singer addressed similar questions and comments concerning her making a less secular record.

“I get a lot of questions about doing a gospel album.. what I do is gospel,” Barrino revealed. “I take God with me everywhere I go.”

Still, she has dipped into the genre and officially wrote her first gospel music song last year. She took to her Instagram page to give fans a glimpse of it.

“I just wrote my first Gospel Song. All by Myself,” Barrino captioned the image on her Instagram page. “Not sure what’s happening but all I can say is the enemy has really been testing ME. Thanks @von_cocapt for this track.”

In the video, Barrino makes it clear that she wrote the song, which can be heard playing in the background.

“I was able to release everything I was carrying,” Barrino said in the video. “I hope you like it.”

Barrino has been vocal about her Christian faith for some time and previously spoke about God having a plan for her life.

“God put me here for a reason,” Barrino previously told “Access Hollywood” in 2013. “When you look on TV or turn on the radio or all the newspapers and the magazines, it was always something negative, and no matter how many things I did that were positive that never came out, so that was the hardest for me at that time. Now I really don’t care anymore.”

With her faith, she has found an inner peace and focuses on how to serve as an inspiration to people.

“I had to just find peace,” she told “Access Hollywood.” “The people who go through things every day, normal things, we’re all human. So for me, if I can just help 10 people and five don’t like it, as long as I have those 10, I’m good to go.”
