On March 9, Apple finally announced its newest ultraportable laptop.

Christian Post Report – Several days ago, Apple launched its brand new ultraportable laptop, the MacBook 2015. No it isn’t the MacBook Air, or a slimmer MacBook Pro – it is an entirely new lineup for the Cupertino manufacturer.

The new laptop’s main selling point is portability and power, highlighted by the new Intel Core M chipsets that are running the show for the MacBook. These chips enable the device to be much thinner than the already thin MacBook Air.

However, in spite all the bells and whistles the new MacBook is getting from critics and consumers, some PC brands are not impressed at all.

According to a report by BGR, several PC manufacturers have launched attacks at Apple on social media.

Asus flaunted its ZenBook UX305 that boasts an even slimmer 12.3mm thickness compared to the new MacBook’s 13.1mm, which is unbelievably thin in its own right as well.

In the same fashion, Dell boasted the “infinity display” of its new XPS 13 that houses 5.7 million pixels. In its tweet, it claims that number is almost 2 million pixels better than the MacBook’s 12-inch Retina display.

Last on the list is Lenovo, who bashed Apple for placing only a single port on either side of the new MacBook. In contrast, its Yoga 3 Pro which was announced last year, is not only slightly thinner, it also boasts two USB ports and a touch screen display.

However, no matter what these PC makers say, most Apple fans are still happy that their beloved manufacturer has finally heard their cries in launching a newly designed and improved laptop.

Some of the changes that will come with the new Apple laptop is its USB C port that serves both as a USB port and a charging socket as well. There is also a headphone jack on the other side of the device.

Meanwhile, the glowing Apple logo is no more, and in its place is a metallic logo that resembles that of the iPad. It will also come in a number of colors like gray, silver and gold – just like other Apple devices.

Christian Post Report – The Church of England is set to invest £700,000 in a new program that aims to promote greater engagement between Christian leaders and the scientific community.

The creation of the initiative, which will be part of a three-year Durham University program, was announced during British Science Week, a 10-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and math that concludes on March 22.

The program will offer trainee priests and others access to resources on contemporary science, and will also research attitudes toward science from church leaders. Durham University professor Rev. David Wilkinson spoke out about the divide between faith and science during a recent interview with The Christian Post.

“Our personal motivation was to ask: how do we give confidence to Christian leaders in a world where there are many questions which impact theology,” Wilkinson told CP on Friday.

“Our hunch, brought out by an initial pilot project, was that many Christian leaders at a senior level leading churches would often see science as a threat, and not see it as an opportunity to engage people with their interest in the really big questions: [such as], where the universe comes from, what does it mean to be human, are we unique, are we alone, and what’s the future for technology.”

The program is aimed at giving confidence and resources to clergy that will allow them to engage with these questions at a respectable level, according to Wilkinson.

Within the program research will be conducted analyzing the attitudes toward science amongst 1,000 church leaders in the U.K. There will also be a series of conferences for leaders — such as bishops and others — that will focus around questions such as origins of existence, cosmology, neuroscience, and the complexity of how God works in the world. The leaders will be exposed to leading scientists in these fields, including Christians and non-Christians.

“We’ll actually take the science seriously,” said Wilkinson. “And reflect on what it means for theology.”

Other initiatives in the program include equipping people training to be church leaders and the replicating of a successful U.S. program that supports scientists in local congregations who want to use their gifts to enable Christians to think about some of these topics.

The Church of England hopes to change Christians’ attitudes toward science with the program and give them the resources to engage those asking the tough questions.

Several leading names in science, such as atheist Richard Dawkins, view science as incompatible with religion and faith, and even label those who are religious as delusional in works such as his book The God Delusion.

“The rise of new atheism, as exemplified in Richard Dawkins and other thinkers, is probably very complex and has to do with a whole number of movements within our culture. But certainly, there is a fear and aggressiveness in some parts of the church, which has bought into the conflict model that science and religion are constantly in battle,” said Wilkinson.

“Actually, you’ve got to be on one side of the conflict or the other. That’s something the new atheism has talked about in general. The triumph of science over religion. But it’s all based on this conflict model.”

Wilkinson believes the church does not need to buy into this “conflict model.” By looking back at history he explained how science and faith were viewed at one time as compatible by most.

He also works as an astrophysicist and talked about how science has tough questions that only God can provide the answers to, such as where the laws of physics come from and why they seem intelligent to humans.

“These are questions that lie beyond sciences ability to answer, but are raised by the very discoveries of the origin of the universe that a number of us have been involved in,” he continued.

Ultimately, Wilkinson hopes this program will help to put the conflict model to rest, which he believes fuels new atheism and a form of Christianity that rejects valid scientific discoveries.

Christian Post Report – Tens of thousands of rock fans have signed a petition requesting organizers to remove Kanye West, who is scheduled to perform at the Glastonbury Music Festival in three months.

Nearly 60,000 music fans have petitioned to have Kanye West removed from the roster of performers who will headline the Glastonbury Music Festival in Somerset, England from June 24 to 28.

While the American hip hop artist is not known to endear himself to fans, he has apparently earned the ire of rock enthusiasts from “across the pond” after they lobbied for festival organizers to replace West’s act from the lineup.

“Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world,” Neil Lonsdale, who spearheaded the petition has said. “This egotistical, maniacal, disgrace was a clear oversight. There is still time to correct this.”

The petition, which began earlier in the week, was initially thought to be a joke. However, it snowballed into thousands of petitioners complaining West’s hip hop repertoire did not represent the rock music typically played at the popular annual festival.

Other protesters pointed out West did not have a big enough act to headline Glastonbury, an event considered a rock performance institution in the UK. Another recalled how West disrespected fellow American singer Beck when the latter won the Album of the Year at last month’s 57th Grammy Awards.

A majority of the petition signers were more upset at the rapper’s attitude rather than the genre of music he played. West is the first rap artist signed on to headline Glastonbury since Jay-Z’s 2008 performance in the festival.

The sold-out festival will feature West performing together with other contemporary artists like Lionel Richie and the Foo Fighters.

Christian Post Report – New rumors surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe have emerged that one of the Avengers characters won’t survive “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

A possible spoiler has come to light involving “Avengers: Age of Ultron” that’s hitting theaters on the first of May. According to rumors, one character will be killed off in the film and won’t be joining the rest of the recurring cast in “Captain America: Civil War.”

Two new Avengers, the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are introduced in the upcoming film. A new report published on Bleed Cool says one of the twins won’t survive the end of the movie, and this theory is based on the announcement of the cast of characters – the “Avengers 2.5” — for “Captain America: Civil War” in 2016.

The next film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will feature Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, the Black Widow, Hulk, Hawkeye, and the Scarlet Witch. It will also be introducing a 14-year-old Peter Parker as Spiderman, the Black Panther, War Machine, and Wasp. However, it does not include Quicksilver, leading to speculations his character is killed off in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

The omission of Quicksilver may change in the future, given that “Captain America: Civil War” is still a year off. However, the mention of new characters casually linked to the film points out the glaring absence of the Scarlet Witch’s twin.

Whether Quicksilver does survive “Age of Ultron” remains to be seen. Meanwhile, the latest trailer of the May 1 Avengers film has recently been released giving hints of the build up towards the “civil war” between Ironman and Captain America.

Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., responds with what may be construed as a wisecrack to Colby Smulders’ character calling him “boss.” Film insiders say Stark’s joke seems to mask the resentment he feels towards the Avengers’ leader, leading to the next movie, “Civil War.”

Christian Post Report – Formula One champion Michael Schumacher’s son Mick was involved in a high speed racecar accident in Germany last weekend.

Mick Schumacher got into a 100mph crash during a practice run at the Lausitzring track in Brandenburg, Germany the previous weekend. The younger Schumacher, 15, had started earlier joined the Van Amersfoort F4 Racing when the accident occurred a few days after. The racecar he was test driving skidded out of control while on the track, causing it to tailspin into the gravel alongside the road.

German publication, Die Welt reported Schumacher was uninjured after the crash.

The previous season, the teen placed second in the world at the 2014 European and German karting championships, prompting an offer from the Netherlands-based Van Amersfoort racing team.

The young Schumacher embarked on his carting career at the age of eight, rising through the ranks until qualifying for the German Formula 4, a category considered a stepping stone for junior drivers to qualify for Formula One.

He has been following the same path his father took at the beginning of his career, progressing from kart races to Formula Four. He has also been vocal about his goal of matching the elder Schumacher’s success at Formula One.

Meanwhile, his father is currently paralyzed and in wheelchair-bound recovery at his home in Lake Geneva, Switzerland, following his December 2013 ski crash in the French Alps where the Formula One champion suffered critical head injuries.

Schumacher has not made a public appearance since his accident, having recently emerged from a six-month medically induced coma. According to press reports, Mr. Schumacher still cannot speak and is suffering from memory issues.

Meredith contemplates whether Derek is cheating on her or not, on Grey’s Anatomy

Christian Post Report – This week on Grey’s Anatomy, Meredith is still on her streak and she wonders if Derek is cheating on her, and the doctors of Grey-Sloane Memorial deal with some major trauma which was the result of a very unfortunate accident.

Last week, Meredith called Derek in D.C. only to hear the voice of another woman answering his phone. This week, Meredith keeps on calling Derek, but now instead of someone picking up, her calls are all going to voice mail.

Meredith goes into the break room and wakes up Alex. She tells him what happened, and while they’re talking, her half-sister, Dr. Pierce, lets them know that she’s on the top bunk and listening. Meredith asks them if they think Derek is cheating on her, and they both say he’s not.

At the ER, several patients are being brought in. It turns out that a car crashed into a home and injured the young couple living there. One of the patients is a pregnant woman, who appears to be ok, but her husband seems to be in very bad shape.

The driver of the car is an older man named Martin. His wife, Sally, arrives, and she tells the doctors that he has Alzheimers and that he wasn’t supposed to drive. Martin starts getting flustered and knocks down Dr. Pierce. Once she’s awake, she assures everyone that she’s fine. Martin goes into surgery.

After his surgery, Martin wakes up and he’s completely lucid. He’s reciting poems to his wife and he’s catching up on the past five years. Dr. Webber is stunned as he couldn’t have cured this man of Alzheimers. It turns out that Martin had a fluid build-up inside his brain and that his condition is treatable.

Meanwhile, the pregnant woman, who appeared to be fine, stops in the middle of a sentence and falls into a seizure. Arizona tries to save her life, but the woman dies. Now it’s up to her to deliver the baby before it’s too late.

The baby’s father has survived the surgery and Meredith tells Dr. Webber that as long as he pulls through the night then he’ll be ok.

Later, Arizona and Bailey get the baby out. At first the baby is not breathing, but Alex gets him to breathe and he’s fine.

Upon learning that he killed the pregnant woman, Martin refuses the treatment and says that he’d rather forget that he killed someone. He tells Sally to let him go and put him in a home.

At Meredith’s home, she’s sitting on the couch when someone starts jiggling the handle of her front door. She opens the door, and finds Derek standing there.

“Grey’s Anatomy” airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC.

Christian Post Report – After a two-month reconciliation, Katy Perry and John Mayer have apparently called it quits again.

According to a source from Radar Online, it appears Mayer cannot handle the “lack of attention” when Perry gets busy with work, which is the same reason why they broke up the first time around. This marks the third time that the singers have split.

“Katy and John reconnected once she had a break in her Prismatic World Tour. So, for those few months they had a great time, pretending that it would last—and of course it didn’t,” said the source to Radar Online.

“The reason they have split in the past is because Katy gets busy. John can’t handle the lack of attention, and she can’t handle the trust issues she has when she’s so far away. So they’ve learned that it’s better to just take a break when they can’t be in the same place.”

The source also adds that Perry’s success is starting to affect her relationship with the 37-year-old singer.

“The fact that he doesn’t have anything major going on with his career is really starting to take a toll on their relationship,” the source added. “Katy is at an all-time high. She is starting to give in to what everyone around her is saying, that maybe she is too good for him.”

The pair last parted ways in February last year. Then, in January of this year, Perry and Mayer were spotted leaving a house in Los Angeles together before a dinner date. They were also seen at Super Bowl earlier this year.

Reps for Mayer and Perry have yet to comment on the breakup rumors.

Christian Post Report – Is a new romance forming on the “Dancing With The Stars” dance floor?

“Shark Tank” boss Robert Herjavec is reportedly dating his pro partner, Kym Johnson. According to a source from Us Weekly, the pair was spotted getting cozy at an intimate viewing party for the show on Monday evening at L.A.’s Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails, and they were reportedly seen holding hands and dancing closely. The pair even allegedly kissed several times.

The magazine also reported that after placing fourth in Monday night’s episode, the pair left the studio lot together, speeding off to a party in Herjavec’s Rolls-Royce.

“Kym and Robert were definitely attracted to each other from the get-go,” said the source to Us Weekly. “They are constantly all over each other. She can’t stop talking about what a good, nice guy he is. They have insane chemistry and are actually a good match.”

Herjavec’s 24-year marriage to Diane Plese ended in July last year, and the 52-year old tycoon revealed that he hit rock bottom soon after when he contemplated suicide. He told People Magazine, “I just wanted to end it. It’s been a terribly difficult year. We were great parents and a great team, but over time we drifted apart.”

Apparently, competing in the latest season of the hit ABC show proved to be the perfect project where he could dive in head first as he told ETCanada, “This couldn’t have come at a better time in my life for me. I’m just trying to stay positive and Kym’s yelling at me a lot and that’s a little negative but I’m getting used to it.”

Johnson has never been married. She was previously engaged to cricket player Shane Watson, but the two split after three years together.

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, the 38-year old dancer said, “I’ve never been opposed to dating someone famous. I’m looking for a good person I connect with…I can’t imagine myself without kids…I really want to be a mum. Hopefully, I can find the right man.”

Christian Post Report – Tech titans Sony and Samsung have recently revealed new phones in their respective lineups at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona early this month. Among those that were launched are Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S6, and Sony’s waterproof new device, the M4 Xperia Aqua.

The Galaxy S6 was one of the most anticipated phones of the event, and the device did not disappoint tech watchers due to its new and improved design and impressive specs. Meanwhile, though the M4 Aqua is not the follow up to Sony’s top seller, the Xperia Z3, the handset’s sleek design and waterproof construction was a hit, and its low price proved to be an attractive bonus as well.

Here, we compare the two phones.

Design:
The M4 Aqua has taken its design cues from the Xperia Z3, with its rounded edges and glass front and back. It measures 5.73 x 2.86 x 0.29 inches and weighs 4.94 ounces. The phone is IP 68 rated, so it can survive a spilled drink, a dip in the pool, or an accidental dunking in the bathroom. The phone is available in a range of colors which include pink, black, and white.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S6 has rounded tops and bottoms and straight sides. The handset is made out of glass and metal and has a more premium feel than the Galaxy S5. The phone measures 5.6.x 2.8 x 0.27 inches and weighs 4.9 ounces. The metal body means that the phone is not waterproof. The phone is available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Blue Topaz.

Features:
The M4 Aqua has a 5-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and pixel density of 294ppi. The results are clear images, but not as crisp or as vivid as those seen on the Galaxy S6’s 5.1-inch Super AMOLED screen which has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and astounding pixel density of 577ppi.

The S6 is powered by an Exynos 7 octa-core chipset, while the Sony phone has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor. Both phones run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The M4 Aqua comes with 16GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card. Samsung has done away with the microSD card slot for the S6, but the phone is available in different storage options—32GB, 64GB and 128GB.

Both phones have a 5MP front facing camera, but the S6 has a 16MP rear camera, while the M4 Aqua has a 13MP rear-facing camera.

Price:
The M4 Aqua is expected to cost $340 off contract. Meanwhile, The Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to go on sale by April 2015 and cost $855 for the 32GB model, $970 for the 64GB variant, and $1,085 for the 128GB model.

Christian Post Report – Speculations have emerged Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are dating after an online tabloid released a photo showing them holding hands.

Oscar winner Jamie Foxx and “Dawson’s Creek” alum, Katie Holmes may be seeing each other in a romantic capacity. A buzz arose over a photograph showing them hand in hand in what is said to be a date, sparking rumors of an alleged relationship.

The photograph, published in US Weekly, shows the two actors sitting on chairs opposite one another in front of a bank of monitors. Holmes texts on her phone, while Foxx sits and gazes at her while they hold hands and their feet overlap.

According to reports “The Giver” actress and “Annie” star have been dating in secret for quite some time, and are only just now exposing their relationship. Holmes’ ex-husband, Tom Cruise is Foxx’s friend from when they previously co-starred in the 2004 film, “Collateral.”

While no hard evidence suggests Holmes, 36 and Fox, 47 have a romantic relationship, they have been seen together at the same events, having become friends when Holmes was still married to Cruise.

Holmes and Foxx have also been photographed dancing arm in arm during a charity event at the Hamptons in 2013, initially giving rise to speculations the two were dating. Foxx later debunked those rumors, saying there were a lot of celebrities at the Hamptons event who danced with everyone else.
