Christian Post Report – Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch portrayal in the most recent trailer for “Avengers: Age of Ultron” broke records with millions of views in just 24 hours.

Olsen, who plays the Scarlet Witch Wanda Maximoff in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” recently appeared in the movie’s third official trailer, where her sinister presence gained 35 million views on YouTube in the space of 24 hours.

The eleventh installment in Marvel’s cinematic universe, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will premiere in theaters on May 1. The film features the Scarlet Witch, a mutant with the powers of hypnosis and telekinesis who, together with her twin brother, Quicksilver, initially allies herself with antagonist, Ultron.

The trailer features her working disturbing magic on the Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson, and throwing a car through the air using only the power of her mind.

Marvel has also recently released movie posters featuring the characters in the movie, with the Scarlet Witch seen manipulating whirls of power between her palms and gazing at the viewer with a hypnotic stare.

Olsen, 26, portrays a character possessed with much knowledge but no one to train her to control her power and her connection with parallel worlds. She frequently becomes over stimulated and loses control, often appearing to be mentally insane.

To prepare for her role, Olsen undertook rigorous training in dance after the film’s director Josh Whedon pointed out he took inspiration from dancers to recreate a visual representation of the Scarlet Witch’s graceful movements.

Olsen, who is the younger sister to fashion designer twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, caught moviegoers’ attention with her role as a paranoid and delusional victim of cult abuse in the critically acclaimed 2011 drama thriller, “Martha Marcy May Marlene” for which she won several awards.

‘Bloodborne’ Out Starting March 24

Christian Post Report – Sony Computer Entertainment and From Software is getting ready to release “Bloodborne,” an action role-playing video game exclusively developed for Sony’s PlayStation 4 console, starting March 24. Game development was declared to have been finished by March 13 and it is now at a stage where the game is being written onto physical discs.

The game will be released in the US on March 24. Gamers in Europe will get it one day after on March 25. Japanese gamers have to wait until March 26, and UK players will get it on March 27, according to a report in International Business Times.

One of the features that the game’s developers are working hard to prepare for is its online play component. Much like its predecessors “Demon’s Souls” and “Dark Souls,” “Bloodborne” will have a persistent online component inextricably intertwined with the single player component. Gamers will be able to use in-game items to engage in “jolly co-operation” or to invade others’ worlds. This interaction between “Bloodborne” players forms the backbone of the gameplay experience.”

The game emphasizes offensive gameplay. Players need to plan offenses in order to battle “dense hordes of enemies.” The game also makes use of old-school weapons such a cleaver coupled with a shotgun. Weapons can be used in “alternate states” depending on what kind of attack is needed.

The game is set in a fictional city of Yharnam which is left in ruins and said to “house a potent medical remedy” to different types of ills. The city and its inhabitants however were affected by some form of plague which is said to have transformed its citizens into beasts. Players must survive by battling monsters and beasts as they go through the city.

Hidetaka Miyazaki directed the game. He is also known for leading the development of the “Souls” games. Sony announced the game’s development during the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2014. The game’s trailer was also shown during the announcement.

Willis said she has always wanted to dance and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to receive expert instruction from a professional and dance to some of her favorite tunes in front of her friends and an appreciative audience.

“It really changes how people look at you,” she admitted to Fox.

‘Tom Clancy’s The Division’ Game News: Release Date and Gameplay Footage Leaked

Tom Clancy’s The Division

Christian Post Report – Ubisoft’s upcoming open third-person shooter role playing video game “Tom Clancy’s The Division” for the Xbox One is rumored to be released this October 2015, according to reports. The rumors were also accompanied with leaked photos and footage of the game.

According to Master Herald, the footage and photos were said to be below expectations of what they were expecting to see of the game.

When Ubisoft showed off a preview of the game during the E3 2013, it was “a very beautiful, expansive title with a vast world.” What fans saw in the leaked footage and photos showed low quality of graphics which are leading some fans to conclude that the final game may have been downgraded.

The game’s developers however came out with an official statement about the leaks. In a report in Gamezone, Ubisoft said that the footage and photos indeed came from the game but were taken during the pre-alpha testing phase thus the low graphics quality.

“These low resolution images and video originate from a pre-alpha test currently organized by the development team to evaluate the server infrastructure in a real world setting. A large portion of the game features have been removed in this build and therefore is not representative of the game’s current quality. The team is focusing on providing the best experience for players, and we can’t wait to show you more,” the statement read.

Ubisoft did not make any comment about the release date of the game. In 2014, the developers announced that the game will be delayed until sometime in 2015.

The game is currently being developed for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It was originally being developed for handheld and home consoles only but the developer announced in August 2013 that a PC version will be released as well.

In the game, players will be members of the Strategic Homeland Division or The Division, “a classified unit of self-supported tactical agents” whose mission is to “do whatever it takes to prevent the fall of society and piece the city back together in a massive multiplayer online situation.” The city is in chaos after a disease spreads all over the world, causing the collapse of the government in a matter of five days.

Syria: Over 220,000 Killed in 5 Years of Civil War; Human Rights Agency Says Atrocities Are ‘Stain on International Community’

An Assyrian woman attends a mass in solidarity with the Assyrians abducted by Islamic State fighters in Syria earlier this week, inside Ibrahim al-Khalil church in Jaramana, eastern damascus March 1, 2015. Militants in northeast Syria are now estimated to have abducted at least 220 Assyrian Christians this week, a group monitoring the war reported.

Christian Post Report – As the ongoing civil war in Syria has entered it’s fifth year, with over 220,000 people dead, humanitarian agencies like Oxfam International have said that the collective failure of world leaders to bring the devastation to an end is a “stain on the conscience of the international community.”

“This spiralling catastrophe is a stain on the conscience of the international community,” Oxfam wrote in a report, assessing the civil war.

It added that despite several U.N. Security Council resolutions to protect civilians, the violence in the country has continued to intensify, while the humanitarian response has been underfunded.

“While the UNSC has the legal authority to demand these changes, its members and their allies have the political, diplomatic and financial influence, and the ability, to ensure these changes actually happen. Without action by individual governments, the demands within these resolutions remain little more than words on a page. They can no longer be ignored,” Oxfam noted.

The Syrian civil war, which began in 2011, has revolved around several different Islamic rebel groups attempting to take down the government of President Bashar al-Assad. The Syrian leader has been accused by the U.S. government of grave human rights violations, such as using chemical weapons on his own people, though Assad has denied the charges.

The U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has said that at least 100,000 of the victims are civilians, among them close to 10,000 children.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has said that efforts for peace are ongoing, and recently revealed that he’s willing to hold talks with Assad again in order to broker an agreement.

“We have to negotiate in the end,” Kerry said. “What we’re pushing for is to get him to come and do that, and it may require that there be increased pressure on him of various kinds.”

The Syrian crisis has also been complicated by the rise of terror group ISIS, which is waging war both on Assad and the other Islamic groups who stand in its way. ISIS has captured a number of cities across Iraq and Syria in a mission to establish an Islamic caliphate in the region.

The civil war has also given rise to the persecution of Christians, International Christian Concern noted.

While Christians have often been caught in the crossfire between government forces and rebel groups, with the rise of ISIS they’ve also increasingly been specifically targeted, most recently with the abduction of close to 250 Assyrian Christians at the hands of the terror group.

“It is heart-breaking to witness the continuing devastation as a result of the war in Syria. Entire religious communities are being wiped out. In single attacks, Christian villages and centuries of their history has been destroyed,” said Todd Daniels, ICC regional manager for the Middle East.

“It is not just the past that is being lost, but the future as well as an entire generation is growing up displaced by this conflict. We strongly support the call for an end to the hostilities in such a way that creates a Syria where all of its citizens — including Christians — are able to freely live and carry out their faith. We urge world leaders to act quickly, and decisively to make this a reality.”

Beside the human death toll, the civil war has destroyed almost the entire infrastructure of the country, with 83 percent of the lights going out across the country since 2011, as satellite images have shown. Close to 4 million Syrians have fled the border as refugees, while another 7.6 million are internally displaced and facing harsh living conditions.

In its report, Oxfam highlights several key steps it says must be taken urgently.

“Deliberate obstruction of aid must halt immediately, as must the use of indiscriminate weapons in built-up areas, the targeting of civilians, and their arbitrary detention, kidnapping and torture,” the report states.

“The impunity which characterizes the conflict must be brought to an end,” it continues.

“Real backing for the U.N. peace envoy’s plans must be matched by a push to reconvene talks in line with the 2012 Geneva Communiqué, and redoubled efforts to end the violence engulfing the country and region.”

Disney Greenlights ‘Frozen 2’

Disney's Frozen Reuters/File

Disney’s ‘Frozen’ surpassed the box-office success of ‘Toy Story 3’ with 640.063 billion tops and has joined the Top 10 list of the highest-grossing movies of all time.

Christian Post Report – Disney Studios has officially announced that it is developing a sequel to the successful animated movie “Frozen.” The announcement was made during a recent shareholders meeting by John Lasseter, Disney and Pixar’s chief creative officer, Disney Chairman Bob Iger and Josh Gad, who voiced the lovable character of Olaf in the movie.

According to Variety, the announcement was very much expected after the first movie became one of the highest-grossing animated films in history, earning $1.3 billion in the box office in 2013 and said to have “helped reinvigorate” Walt Disney Animation Studios. The merchandise developed after the movie continues to earn millions for Disney to this day.

“Frozen 2” will see the directors of the first film, Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, coming back to direct. Disney Producer Peter Del Vecho is working with the duo to develop the project.

Although Disney has not confirmed casting except for Josh Gad, who made the announcement with Disney’s big bosses, some reports are saying that both Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel will surely reprise their roles as Anna and Elsa respectively. Both actresses returned in the short sequel of sorts, “Frozen Fever.”

A report in Telegraph also says that Elsa and Anna will likely sport new dresses, which will be a good thing for merchandise sales. When “Frozen” came out, what followed was a frenzy for “Frozen” dolls and other retail merchandise.

No plot details have been revealed, but the Telegraph report bravely made some predictions about the sequel. One of these is that Disney needs to outdo itself if it wants the sequel to be as successful as or more successful than the first.

The first film produced a musical success with the song “Let It Go.” It is unclear whether the sequel will involve Robert and Kristen Lopez, the composers from the first film. Another prediction is about Olaf’s love life. The report says that the sequel may have Olaf finding a “snow soulmate.”

The announcement about the sequel comes after the recent release of “Frozen Fever,” which is being shown with the live-action adaptation of “Cinderella,” which opened in theaters this past weekend.

‘Game of Thrones’ News: HBO Renews Up to Season 6, Movie in the Works?

Game of Thrones FACEBOOK/ Game of Thrones

HBO’s “Game of Thrones”

Christian Post Report – “Game of Thrones” Season 5 has yet to come back on air but news are already circulating that HBO has renewed the show up to Season 6 and that a feature film is in the works.

The show’s writer, George R.R. Martin, intimated in his live blog that a “Game of Thrones” movie is also being discussed, according to a Variety report.

“I see that this new crop of stories also raises, once again, the notion of concluding the series with one or more feature films. And in some of these stories, once again, this idea is wrongly attributed to me. Let me state, yet again, that while I love this idea, it did NOT originate with me. It was a notion suggested to me, which I have enthusiastically endorsed,” he wrote on his blog.

Apparently, HBO’s big boss Michael Lombardo is not as enthusiastic about the movie idea. In another report in IGN, he put the rumors of a feature film in the horizon to rest. His primary reason is that he thinks it is unfair to HBO subscribers to expect them to pay extra for a movie in order for them to see how the series ends when in fact their HBO fee is already a commitment that they will see the series at the very end.

Lombardo, however, confirmed HBO’s desire to go beyond Season 6 with the series. If it were up to them, they wanted the series to last until Season 10. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have previously said that they are looking at the series up until Season 7.

“We started this journey with David and Dan. It’s their vision. Would I love the show to go 10 years as both a fan and a network executive? Absolutely,” Lombardo told Entertainment Weekly. But he still deferred the decision to the show’s creators.

Season 5 of “Game of Thrones” starts on April 12. So far, HBO has released two trailers as part of its promotional campaign for the upcoming season.

You have helped raise me into the person I am today & I thank you so much for telling me (sic) everyday to be a good leader & example. That has always stuck with me & always will. Thank you for leading by example. Ps: you are the hottest grandma I have ever seen. Keep on rocking. I love you.”

Christian Post Report – Teen pregnancy spokesperson, best-selling author and reality TV personality Bristol Palin has just announced her engagement to former U.S. Marine Dakota Meyer, over the weekend.

Bristol Palin, the eldest daughter of 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin has posted news of her engagement to former U.S. Marine and decorated Afghanistan war veteran Dakota Meyer, on Facebook Saturday.

Palin, 24, who gained nation-wide notoriety for her teenage pregnancy in 2009 at the age of 18 during the height of her mother’s popularity as the ninth Governor of Alaska and a vice presidential candidate, met Meyer, 26 the previous year when he visited Alaska to film “Amazing America” with Sarah Palin.

Meyer was a recipient of the Medal of Honor in 2011 for saving 36 members of his team from enemy fire in Afghanistan. He proposed to Palin during a Rascal Flatts concert in the middle of a song dedicated to them by lead singer Gary LeVox, Palin wrote on her Facebook feed.

Palin has previously been engaged to her high school boyfriend, Levi Johnston, who fathered her 7-year-old son, Tripp, but broke off the engagement in late 2009.

Palin also had a stint on the 2010 fall season of “Dancing With The Stars,” emerging third place during the summer of the following year, and starred in a reality show based on her single motherhood on the Lifetime Channel’s “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp.” Her memoir, “Not Afraid of Life: My Journey so Far” became a New York Times bestseller in 2011.

LG G4 Note News: Phablet to Be Revealed in Late 2015

LG G4 Note phablet Droid Life/Twitter

LG G4 Note phablet leaked photo. Droid Life Twitter. March 10, 2015.

Christian Post Report – LG has announced a new high end device, the LG G4 Note phablet. It will come in the latter half of the year to rival the iPhone 6 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

While Apple and Samsung are currently dominating the phablet market, LG may soon be joining in the competition with its own high-end version soon. The South Korean electronics manufacturer has said it will be revealing its new premium handset, the LG G4 Note phablet, that is speculated to be on the level of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus, by the second half of 2015.

While LG G4 Note may not be the final name choice for the new device, the company has reportedly filed a patent for the name in South Korea last month. Rumors are rampant the upcoming phablet may sport a curved 5.5-inch 3K display with a resolution of 600 ppi, the highest pixel density of any phablet or smartphone in the market today.

Specs run from a 16 megapixel front-facing camera to a 5-megapixel rear camera, switching the usual shooter specifications compared to what is currently the norm for most handheld electronic devices, giving rise to the idea that LG may be planning to heavily market the LG G4 Note phablet’s selfie capabilities.

This isn’t the first time LG has brought phablets into the market. They have previously introduced the Optimus G Pro in 2013 and the G Pro 2 a year later, but dropped the phablet lines when it was apparent the devices were eating up on its main flagship phone sales.

This year, LG looks to be mimicking Samsung’s business model by introducing a device in the first half of the year, then following it with an upgraded version during the second half.
