Christian Post Report – The results are in, and “American Idol” has chosen its Top 12 contestants.

On Wednesday, the top 12 had to perform their audition songs all over again, and the first slot went to Sarina-Joi Crowe of Columbia, Tennessee who sang the One Republic song “Til the Love Runs Out.”

The second spot went to Rayvon Owen of Richmond, Virginia who impressed the judges with his rendition of Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake.”

The third slot went to 15-year old Daniel Seavey of Vancouver, Washington, whose rendition of Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up” had judge Harry Connick Jr. comment on Seavey’s inexperience, but all of the judges agreed that with the right song, Seavey would “shine.”

Maddie Walker of Ankeny, Iowa got the fourth spot, touted as the resident country girl of the season. Walker sang Gwen Sebastian’s “Suitcase”.

Tyanna Jones of Jacksonville, Florida got the fifth spot and performed Little Mix’s “Wings”, and her stage presence impressed the judges.

The sixth spot went to Nick Fradiani of Guilford, Connecticut who sang Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes”. Fradiani previously competed with his band Beach Avenue on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”

Jax Cole of East Brunswick, New Jersey got the seventh spot, and she sang a stripped down version of the Beatle’s “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” before increasing the tempo for the last half of the song.

Qaasim Middleton of Brooklyn, New York got the eight spot and he took on Stevie Wonder’s “Sir Duke” complete with some fancy footwork.

Clark Beckham from White House, Tennessee had the ninth spot, and he sang James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World”. Jennifer Lopez declared his performance to be the “vocal of the night.” Beckham is an experienced street performer who taught himself how to play the guitar at age 12 and the piano at age 15.

Spot number 10 went to Joey Cook of Woodbridge, Virginia, who, with her unconventional style, is the most original contestant of the season. Her performance of “King of Spain” by Tallest Man on Earth led the judges to say that she’ll be around for a long time.

The judges wild card pick was Quentin Alexander from New Orleans, Louisiana who sang Lorde’s “Royals”.

The last spot in the top 12 went to Adanna Duru from Diamond Bar, California who sang “You and I” by Lady Gaga. Duru was a previous contestant on NBC’s “The Voice.”

“American Idol” airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.

New York Rangers vs Florida Panthers Live Stream Free: Watch NHL Hockey Online (Start Time, Preview)

The Florida Panthers try to end the New York Rangers’ home undefeated streak as they meet at Madison Square Garden in the National Hockey League on Sunday. The game will start at 5 p.m. ET and can be watched online through live stream (details below).

Christian Post Report – Rick Nash of the New York Rangers

The Rangers have won four straight in the Garden, including a 4-1 win against the Nashville Predators.

In that contest between two of the top teams in the league, New York got off to an early lead after Marc Staal scored in the first seven minutes of the contest. Chris Kreider then doubled the lead in the second period before Matt Cullen cut the deficit in half with a wrister.

However, the Rangers proved to be too much as Dominic Moore ad Rick Nash netted in the last period to eventually win 4-1.

Kevin Klein will not be available for New York after suffering an arm injury early in the week. He has joined goalie Henrik Lundqvist in the list of injuries with the shot-stopper out indefinitely after a neck injury.

For the Panthers, they are still trying to climb the rankings as they find themselves in the lower half of the Eastern Conference.

Nick Bjugstad and Jonathan Huberdeau lead the team statistically but they will need to get help from veterans like Jussi Jokinen as they try to make a late push in the season.

Like the Rangers, Florida are missing top goalie Roberto Luongo who has been out since the first week of the month due to a shoulder injury. Unfortunately, Al Montoya also suffered a groin injury leaving the Panthers short-handed when it comes to the goalie position.

New York have won their first two meetings of the season, first a 5-2 victory in Florida, followed by another dazzling 6-3 win in New York.

In the home win, the score was tied 3-3 coming into the final period before three straight goals within a 10-minute span gave New York a much-deserved victory.

This will be their final meeting of the regular season.

A screen grab from the teaser trailer of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Christian Post Report – “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” which is the latest installment in Naughty Dog’s popular action adventure game series, has been pushed back from its original 2015 release date to spring 2016.

In a joint statement posted on the PlayStation blog on March 11, Naughty Dog Creative Director Neil Druckman and Bruce Straley revealed to fans that the game was much more ambitious than what they have originally envisioned.

“After spending so many years with Nathan Drake, he means a lot to the team, and telling the climactic chapter of his adventures is a task we don’t take lightly,” Druckman wrote. “This game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for. So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date. Giving us the few extra months will make certain that ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ not only meets the team’s high standards, but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from Naughty Dog.”

The game was first announced in 2013 via a short teaser trailer on the same month as the PlayStation 4’s release, with Naughty Dog saying that it will be coming exclusively on the new gaming console. The game will be set three years after the events of “Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception,” with the game’s protagonist, Nathan Drake, now settled into a normal life. Nathan’s world is rocked when his brother Sam, believed to be dead, suddenly appears, and enlists Nathan’s help as they go all over the world to look for a long lost pirate colony and treasure.

Straley and Druckmann assure fans that together with Nathan, they are “in for one thrilling, emotional ride,” once the game is released in Spring 2016.

“We know the extra wait will be excruciating, but you’ll see it will be worth it as we reveal more about Uncharted 4 over the next year,” they promised.

Christian Post Report – BBC renewed the third season run of the psychological crime drama television series “The Fall”, according to reports. The series stars Gillian Anderson as a senior police detective who pursues a serial killer, played by Jamie Dornan.

Gillian Anderson is known for her role in the “X-files” TV series and more recently as Hannibal Lecter’s psychotherapist in the series “Hannibal.” Jamie Dornan comes back to the series fresh from his role as Christian Grey in the box-office hit “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

The series is set in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Variety reported. Gillian Anderson’s character is Metropolitan Police Superintendent Stella Gibson, who gets seconded to the Police Service of Northern Ireland in order to take over the investigation of a murder which has gone unsolved for more than 28 days.

When the case turns out to be the doings of a serial killer, Gibson needs to work with the local police help hunt down the criminal who victimizes young professional women in Belfast.

Dornan on the other hand, plays the role of the serial killer Paul Spector. Spector is shown as a working family man and counselor who has a dark secret: he is a sadist who assaults women. Seasons 1 and 2 showed Gibson’s pursuit of Spector, even after Spector moved his family to Scotland at the end of Season 1. The final episode of Season 2 shows the confrontation of Gibson and Spector.

Season 3 will have five more episodes of “the cat-and-mouse game between the two adversaries, further exploring the deeper themes exposed by the intimate story line,” according to a report in Digital Trends.

The series was initially shown on the RTE network of Ireland and on BBC Two in 2013. International broadcast followed in the United States and other countries after Endemol Shine International sold the show to over 200 countries through different distribution channels such as Netflix. In the U.K., the series is said to be one of the more popular series in the BBC network.

No date has been set for the series premiere. The series is written and directed by Allan Cubitt.

San Francisco’s Largest Evangelical Megachurch to Allow Non-Celibate Homosexuals to Be Members

city church san francisco (Photo: City Church Facebook)

The Elder Board of San Francisco’s largest evangelical church, City Church, has announced that the megachurch will end its practice of preventing LGBT people from becoming members if they are unwilling or unable to practice lifelong celibacy.

“Our pastoral practice of demanding life-long ‘celibacy,’ by which we meant that for the rest of your life you would not engage your sexual orientation in any way, was causing obvious harm and has not led to human flourishing,” Sr. Pastor Fred Harrell writes in a letter “on behalf of the Board and for the Gospel.”

The pastor cites social science research, saying it points to “skyrocketing rates of depression, suicide and addiction” among the LGBT people. “The generally unintended consequence has been to leave many people feeling deeply damaged, distorted, unlovable, unacceptable, and perverted,” he says.

Harrell adds that the Board has been asking the central question “What does the gospel require?”

He says the questions at the heart of the gospel are: “Who belongs to Christ’s body? And how do they belong?”

“We believe the thrust and focus of the gospel is the breaking down of former boundaries of exclusion and the expanding of the welcome of Jesus to all,” he goes on to say.

On the church’s website, it shares that Senior Pastor Fred Harrell was inspired by Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, led by Tim Keller, to start City Church (San Francisco) in 1997. The church is also active in church planting and development within the Bay Area and across America. Harrell says that City Church’s Board has followed the Reformed Tradition of going directly to Scripture to find counsel.

“For so long this has been a ‘case closed’ kind of issue for evangelicals,” he comments. “Scholars and leaders who have previously been united in their interpretations are coming to different conclusions. This does not mean that your view must change, but it does counsel humility with how we each hold our views. Given the status and variety of these opinions, what has become clear to us is that there is no longer clear consensus on this issue within the evangelical community.”

Before making the decision, the Board read Ken Wilson’s book, A Letter to My Congregation, Harrell says, and describes the book as showing “great empathy and maturity to model unity and patience with those who are in different places on this conversation, all the while dealing honestly with Scripture.”

“If Jesus were the pastor of City Church, what would he say to the people who are asking if they can belong?” the pastor asks. “As we consider the life of Christ, his example of love, his call to embrace the outsider and cast down, and his patience with those earnestly seeking him, what is a Christ-like response?”

Ending the requirement for celibacy for gays “aligns with our existing core vision: the doors of this church are as wide as the arms of the Savior it proclaims,” he adds.

“We will no longer discriminate based on sexual orientation and demand lifelong celibacy as a precondition for joining. For all members, regardless of sexual orientation, we will continue to expect chastity in singleness until marriage,” Harrell concludes.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 11: Episode 15 Recap ‘I Feel the Earth Move’

Grey's Anatomy Facebook/ Grey’s Anatomy

Meredith contemplates whether she’s better off without Derek, on Grey’s Anatomy.

Christian Post Report – On this week’s episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” an earthquake rocks Gray-Sloane Memorial Hospital, Dr. Hunt instructs an 11-year-old girl how to help her mother over the phone, while Meredith decides whether or not she wants to stay with Derek.

The episode starts with Stephanie and Jo finding out that Meredith has been doing surgeries and rounds in the middle of the night, and she hasn’t lost a patient in months. They call it her “streak.” They share the news with Alex, and soon after, an earthquake rocks the hospital.

The earthquake stops, and no one in the hospital is hurt. However, the emergency room starts filling up as patients are brought in. Then, Owen gets a phone call in the emergency room line. An 11-year-old girl named Ruby says that her mother has been pinned down because of the earthquake and is in serious danger. She says she can’t get through 911 that’s why she thought of calling the hospital.

Ruby holds the phone close to her mom, and her breathing lets Owen know that she has an obstructed airway. Owen and Amelia decide that a hole must be punctured in Ruby’s mother’s chest to relieve the pressure. Because they can’t trace the call and have no idea where they are, the doctors tell Ruby that she has to do it herself.

Guided by Owen, Ruby uses a skewer to puncture a hole in her mother’s chest. But later, her mother stops breathing and Owen teaches Ruby how to do CPR. Owen enlists his fellow doctors to join him and they sing “Staying Alive” so that Ruby can have a beat to perform CPR to.

Later, April comes in and tells them that they have traced Ruby’s location, so Owen and the rest of the team waits for the helicopter to arrive. A moment later, they’re all on the roof when it lands and Ruby runs to Owen and gives him a hug.

Owen discovers that Ruby’s mom has a blood clot in her brain from the fall she took during the earthquake, but Amelia was able to save her life and tell the good news to Ruby.

Meanwhile, Jo mentions Meredith’s streak and she tells Meredith, in front of Alex and Stephanie, that she hasn’t lost a patient since November 14. Meredith storms out of the operating room.

Meredith explains that she’s not upset by the streak, but by the date when it started, which is the same date when Derek moved to Washington D.C. She thinks that Alex has been right all along, that she’s better off without him.

She decides to call Derek to tell him this, and a woman answers the phone. Meredith demands to know who she is. The woman remains silent.

“Grey’s Anatomy” airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Christian Post Report – Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend, Patrick Schwarzenegger, are often seen and photographed going on dates or partying with their friends. But on Wednesday March 11, the couple was seen in the company of Patrick’s mother, Maria Shriver, as they all went out to dinner in Los Angeles.

Patrick, Miley, and Maria were accompanied by Patrick’s brother Christopher at Palm Restaurant, According to Daily Mail. For the family dinner, Miley was dressed in a black dress paired with sheer black tights and black shoes. Meanwhile, Patrick was clad in jeans and grey sweater.

It appears as though Maria has officially given her blessings to the couple, who has been dating for five months. Back in December, it was claimed that she had concerns over her son dating the “Wrecking Ball” singer.

A source told Us Weekly that “there is friction” between Maria and the couple.

“Maria told Patrick the more she hears about Miley the more she’s concerned,” said the source.

Another report back at the end of last year claimed that Maria allegedly banned Miley from attending the annual Kennedy Christmas party.

But now that it appears that Maria has approved of Miley, the couple is reportedly thinking of taking the next step in their relationship.

According to TMZ, Miley and Patrick have reportedly been telling their friends that they will get married someday.

Another source from Hollywood Life says that the couple has talked about tying the knot and having children together.

“They have talked about it, but they are going to continue being a couple without the engagement or marriage for a while … Miley is ready for a kid, Patrick not so much,” said the source.
