Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight: Mayweather Wants Gordon Ramsay to Cook Him Dinner in Exchange for Ringside Seats

Christian Post Report – It’s no surprise that a ticket for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight is one of the most sought-after items by boxing fans this year. With the match barely two months away, many have been surfing the Internet for information on how to get tickets to see the two boxers live at the MGM Grand, where the fight is scheduled to take place on May 2.

Both everyday citizens and even celebrities are reported to have a hard time securing the tickets for the much awaited fight. According to Forbes, online seller SeatGeek has 422 seats for sale via ticket brokers who have relationships with the venue or other sources where they know they will have access to said tickets. The cheapest seat listed is $4,116, while floor seats start at $22,441.

Celebrities like Jack Nicholson, Will Smith, and Leonardo DiCaprio are used to getting comped tickets when they attend a big fight, but Top Rank boss Bob Arum said to Forbes that for the Mayweather-Pacquiao bout, “nobody is going to get these tickets without paying for them.” However, if you’re world renowned chef Gordon Ramsay, the price of a ringside ticket may only cost a single meal cooked for Mayweather.

According to Yahoo!, Mayweather wants Ramsay to cook him a lavish dinner in return for ringside tickets for the match. What the boxer reportedly wants in exchange, after winning the fight, is to have Ramsay himself cook him a feast of chicken wings, a burger, and cheesecake.

Meanwhile, Arum says that ringside tickets will be harder to come by.

“Because of the price of tickets, MGM, for example, will only give ringside tickets to its customers who have $250,000 line of credit,” he said.

No doubt about it, people will be flocking to Las Vegas on May 2 to watch this epic fight that has been six years in the making. Those who can’t make the trip — or part with the cash required to purchase a ticket — will be able to watch it on pay per view, which will reportedly cost $100.

Through Times of Trial

Genesis 39:19-23

    Dr. Charles F. Stanley (File).

Christian Post Report – When the problems of life seem overwhelming, we need someone to come alongside and help us to see our difficulties through the eyes of our sovereign God. Joseph is just such a person. Although he lived thousands of years ago, his story still speaks to us with great insight into the Lord’s purposes.

Joseph experienced a wide variety of trials—hatred, rejection, and betrayal by his brothers; loss of home, family, and freedom; false accusation and imprisonment; and the loneliness and disappointment of being forgotten. His life was a series of difficult and unfair situations, yet Scripture never records any bitterness or revenge in Joseph’s responses to all these circumstances.

Though outwardly it may have seemed as if God had abandoned the young man, He was doing some awesome work in Joseph’s heart. The Lord had big plans for him, and He knew that these trials would be the most effective tools in preparing His servant for the work that lay ahead.

As Joseph responded to each situation with faith in God and diligence in every task assigned to him, one fact became obvious to all who knew him: The Lord was with Joseph (Gen. 39:2, 21, 23).

We need to remember this when we are going through hard times: The Lord is with us even when our circumstances seem to shout that He has deserted us. We may have little control over the difficulties we face, but we each have a choice of how to respond. Joseph calls to us from out of the past, urging us to trust God.

Xiaomi Redmi 2 Release Date: New Android Midranger Hits Singapore, Only Costs $122

Xiaomi Note Youtube/ScreenGrab

Xiaomi is slowly taking over the entire Southeast Asian region with its super affordable but high quality smartphones. The latest member of its arsenal that will hit the market is the Redmi 2.

Christian Post Report – According to a report by GSM Arena, the Android-powered smartphone has just arrived in Singapore and costs just S$169 or about $122.

So what does this handset do?

In case you missed its unveiling a couple of months ago, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 packs a 4.3-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, 1GB of RAM and an 8GB built-in memory.

In the report, while the 720p resolution may not be high-end, the Redmi 2 managed to do a great job in GSM Arena’s sunlight legibility test.

Other specs include an 8MP primary camera that boasts an LED flash, and a 2MP front shooter that can record 720p clips. Powering the device is a 2,200mAh battery that should be enough for everyday computing, calls and connectivity.

In the connectivity department, the device supports Cat.4 LTE networks, which enable the Redmi 2 to reach download speeds of up to 150mbps.

Meanwhile, there are also two SIM slots for the device, both of which can be activated simultaneously, or otherwise known as “dual-standby.”

In the report, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 will be available for orders beginning noontime on March 17, although the only option is the white edition.

In addition, the 2GB RAM and 16GB storage combo will not be available yet in Singapore.

Xiaomi has not had the habit of releasing its smartphones internationally outside of Asia, so U.S. and EU consumers may not have access to them.

HTC vs. Samsung: Taiwan-Based Company’s Exec Throws Shots at Korean Brand for ‘Only Being Interested in Money’

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs HTC One M9 Youtube Screenshot/ file

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs HTC One M9

Christian Post Report – HTC and Samsung are among the first to adopt the Android platform by Google. In fact, it was HTC that developed the very first Android-powered device.

The Taiwanese brand’s dominance in the industry was at its peak in 2011, when it unveiled its Desire midrange lineup, and the Sensation flagship.

Unfortunately, HTC’s story to glory was cut short when Samsung launched its first Galaxy S flagship.

Since then, the Korean manufacturer has been at the top of the Android and mobile markets, while the Taiwan-based company is sharing the market cellar with other brands, most of which offer their devices at very affordable rates.

In a recent interview with an HTC exec, the bitter rivalry is clearly shown. In a report by Android Authority, HTC Chief Marketing Officer Idris Mootee has some choice words for the Korean tech giant.

After praising Apple for taking care of its consumers and connecting them to “something that’s bigger than just an electronic company,” the executive then criticizes Samsung and describes it as “a massive brand and enterprise, doesn’t stand for anything except for profit.”

In addition to criticizing Samsung, Mootee also shared his thoughts regarding emerging mobile giant Xiaomi.

Here’s what he has to say against the current top Chinese mobile manufacturer:

“Lot of people talk about Xiaomi. It’s not really our competitor. I don’t think they’ll ever make it to the U.S., for a million reasons we all know. And I think their business model has a very short lifespan.”

LG G4 Rumors, Specs, Release Date: New Leaked Images Showcase Slightly Curved Frame, High Resolution Camera

LG G4 Facebook

There isn’t a shortage of LG G4 rumors and alleged specs these past few days, which is probably a sign that the Korean manufacturer is increasing the pace to finally release it to the market.

Christian Post Report –  However, this new leak could be our first look at the Android-powered handset.

According to a report by Phone Arena, French insider Nowhereelse has done it again and revealed a couple of images showing the upcoming LG flagship.

In the report, the leaked images confirm previous rumors that the Android smartphone will be slightly curved. Similar to the LG G3, the G4 could pack the same 5.5-inch display and QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution.

While the LG G4 will not be as curved as the company’s LG G Flex 2, its display and the back cover are slightly curved to provide a better grip for consumers.

Aside from the build and frame, the leaked images also show a glimpse of the phone’s design. The phone’s front features the screen and super slim side bezels.

There is also a bigger front camera sensor that is rumored to be 5 megapixels. Other rumored specs of the LG G4 include a 20MP primary camera similar to that of the HTC One M9, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset with eight CPU cores, and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

Based on previous reports, the LG G4 may be announced in April or May. Availability could initially hit South Korea, followed by major markets in the following weeks.

Motorola Droid Turbo Release Date: Phone Maker’s Best Phone to Date Hitting India Soon

Droid Turbo

Last year, Motorola made some big surprises to keep the competition in the Android realm interesting.

Christian Post Report – Not only was the phone maker chosen to develop Google’s latest phone, the Nexus 6, it also released arguably the best smartphone last year.

When the Motorola Droid Turbo began hitting the rumor mill late last year, no one thought it would be a high-end device. However, the actual announcement of the device captured U.S. interest, especially because its features were rumored to be on par or even superior to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4.

Unfortunately, there was one major problem in that it was developed solely for Verizon Wireless.

But in a recent report by Phone Arena, the device will soon be hitting its first Asian market: India. the Android-powered smartphone appeared in a listing for India’s biggest retailer website, Flipkart.

Listed as the Moto Maxx, the device features a 5.2-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 805 chipset from Qualcomm.

Other specs include a 21MP Sony-made camera with an aperture of f/2.0, and there is a 2MP front shooter to handle selfies and video calls.

Powering up the device is a 3,900mAh battery, as well as Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

While the Moto Maxx would not be as cheap as some of the more popular handsets in India such as the OnePlus One ($306) and the Xiaomi Mi4 ($322) in the same website, the Motorola smartphone does have additional features and higher-end specs to offer.

ISIS Orders Assyrian Christian Hostages to Convert to Islam, but All Boldly Refuse to Deny Jesus Christ

Assyrians hold banners as they march in solidarity with the Assyrians abducted by Islamic State fighters in Syria earlier this week, in Beirut, Labanon, February 28, 2015. Militants in northeast Syria are now estimated to have abducted at least 220 Assyrian Christians this week, a group monitoring the war reported.

Christian Post Report – Two of the 200-plus Assyrian hostages kidnapped by the Islamic State during an assault on Christian villages along Syria’s Khabur River in February have provided insight into their abduction in recent interviews where one revealed that the ISIS militants tried to force the Christian hostages to convert to Islam, but the captives boldly refused.

On Feb. 23, the terrorist group raided approximately 35 different Christian villages in the Hasakah province and abducted somewhere between 263 to 373 men, women and children, according to the Assyrian International News Agency. But about a week after the raids, ISIS released a handful of hostages on March 1.

A released hostage going by the name of “Robert” told AINA that he was abducted from his village of Tel Goran, which is on the south bank of the Khabur River, along with 16 other men and four women. He recalls the militants storming into his village at around 5 a.m., knocking on all the doors and waking everybody up.

He explained that the terrorists corralled everybody who was left in the village and placed them all into a small room, where they waited until the fighting subsided between the ISIS fighters and the Kurdish forces, who were stationed on the north side of the river.

Robert further explained that the fighting subsided about three hours after being placed in the room, and said the militants got upset when the local church’s bell rang in the quiet of the night. Then, the Assyrian captives were transported to the Abdul Aziz Mountain, where they were placed into two rooms and spent the night.

Iraqi Christians attend mass at Mar George Chaldean Church in Baghdad, March 1, 2015. Iraqi Christians say they have no intention of leaving the country despite the recent abduction of over 100 Assyrian Christians by the Islamic State. Picture taken March 1, 2015.

While staying at the mountain, Robert recalls that the first thing the militants did was demand that the hostages convert to Islam.

“They asked us to convert to Islam. … Yes, that was their [first] idea that we should convert to Islam,” Robert said. “Many bearded people spoke to us, and everyone asked us to convert to Islam.”

When asked about how many militants had spoken to them about conversion, Robert replied, “very many, everyone spoke to us who saw us.”

After spending the night in the house at Abdul Aziz Mountain, Robert said he and the rest of the hostages were driven about four hours north in the mountains. When they arrived, the hostages were placed into two different homes where they remained for five days until they were released.

Although they were in a new location, the militants’ goal was still to get the hostages to convert to Islam.

“They kept pressuring us to convert to Islam. It was their constant focus. But we were not mistreated.” Robert continued. “We said we would not convert. They said you must then pay the jizya [a Christian poll tax] or leave the country. That was the option given to us. We said we would pay the jizya but we would not convert.”

Although the hostages were told they would have to pay, Robert said the militants uncharacteristically released them without forcing them to pay the tax.

“They said this time they would not collect the jizya because we had not fought against them. They said that they would release use on one condition — that we not return to our village,” Robert added. “They said if we returned and they captured us again they would kill us without any other option; they would behead the men and enslave the women.”

Even though the ISIS fighters continuously tried to get the Christians to convert, Robert said he and the rest of the hostages were not roughed up or cruelly treated and were even given everything they needed.

“We were provided with all necessities — food, water, bathing facilities. They brought us everything,” Robert asserted.

Another released hostage from Tel Goran, going by the name “Peter,” told The Times he and the other hostages were tried in Shariah court, but it was ruled that they were non-combatants. The Times reports that a Sunni tribal leader helped negotiate their release.

Graeme Wood, a writer with The Atlantic who covers the Islamic State, told CNN that ISIS’ willingness to release the hostages by order of Shariah courts is an attempt to build more religious credibility.

“ISIS has claimed for a long time to follow rules, and it claims that these Shariah courts will impose limits,” Wood said. “They can attempt to get credibility by showing that they follow rules and that they have some kind of transparent process that follows their particular implementation of Shariah law.”

Robert added that upon release, ISIS hired a car to take the hostages to the town of Hasakah, where other Christians from the region have taken refuge in a church.

As ISIS has seized many of the region’s villages, Robert said he and many other Assyrians in the region are planning to flee to Lebanon.

ISIS’ control of the region gives the group access to a key bridge that crosses the Khabur River.

Even though Robert, Peter and the rest of the hostages they were with from Tel Goran were released, over 200 Assyrians remain in ISIS captivity after more than two weeks. Other reports have indicated that ISIS may have executed 15 other Christian hostages.

MacBook Air Retina Display Release Date: 12-Inch Portable Apple Laptop Announced With Even Thinner Design

12" MacBook with Retina Display Apple

On March 9, Apple finally announced its newest ultraportable laptop.

Christian Post Report – After more than a year without any new MacBook Air designs, Apple has now officially launched the 12-inch MacBook with Retina Display.

Compared to the Cupertino manufacturer’s other laptops, this will be the first time that it has used a 12-inch screen.

According to the report by GSM Arena, the ultraportable laptop packs a Retina display (2304 x 1440) resolution, as well as a much thinner frame. The device is 13.1mm thin at its thinnest point.

In the report, Apple has taken out most of the ports of the 11-inch MacBook Air and retained a single USB-C port that can now be used to charge the entire device. The 3.5mm headphone jack has also been retained to cover audiophile consumers.

In the design department, there are no huge changes aside from the all metal design and much thinner build caused by the new Intel M Broadwell chipset. The new chip does not have any fans, which enables Apple to develop a thinner and lighter laptop.

The new 12-inch MacBook with Retina Display only weighs 907 grams or just 2 lbs. The company’s well-loved keyboard has also been changed to a more precise design.

There are a number of possible pricing and specs options for the new MacBook. The 1.1GHZ/8GB RAM/256GB configuration costs $1299, while the higher end model (1.2GHz/8GB RAM/512GB) will be priced at $1599.

According to the report, the device will arrive in Apple’s usual color options: silver, space gray, and gold.

The new 12-inch MacBook with Retina Display will officially hit stores on April 10.

During Apple’s event today, the Cupertino manufacturer formally launched its Apple Watch as well.

Vaio Phone 2015: Once A Laptop Brand, Soon A Smartphone Label?

Sony Vaio Pro 13 anandtech/Image

Several years ago, Sony owned and managed its own line of laptops that aimed to rival other brands in the industry.

Christian Post Report – The Vaio brand became popular not just because of the unique logo it has, but with the premium build, quality and performance it offers to consumers.

Unfortunately, Sony has decided to leave the Vaio brand last year in order to focus on more consumer devices.

As a result, the Japanese maker owns only five percent of the brand, while it is primarily run by Japanese Industrial Partners (JIP).

Based on a report by GSM Arena, JIP will finally launch its pioneer smartphone and is bound not only for Asian markets, but countries in Europe as well.

In the report, the Vaio smartphone will boast decent midrange specs that include a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 chipset, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

The phone will also feature a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, including a 13MP primary camera, and a 5MP front shooter.

According to the report, the device will showcase the same stylish but simplistic Vaio branding, although this may still delight the fans of the label.

The absence of Sony in this year’s Mobile World Congress could be seen as a first step to slowly exit from the mobile market.

While the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 smartphones were high-end devices when they launched last year, they were outplayed by Samsung and other cheaper brands, especially in the Asian market.

If the Xperia brand plug will be pulled, Vaio mobile phones may be the the one to take its place.

Kurt Busch May Face Multiple Hurdles to Be Reinstated by NASCAR

Kurt Busch reuters.com

Kurt Busch has been suspended by NASCAR

Christian Post Report – The saga of Kurt Bush continued this weekend when team car owner started raising questions about his return to the no. 41 car. Busch faces a long road to return, while he has signed a terms and conditions for consideration of reinstatement with NASCAR, it is not known what those terms and conditions are.

NASCAR has said the facing of criminal charges was one of these factors but since Busch will not be charged so he has cleared that hurdle. The next hurdle he may have to clear is whether or not his race team will remain eligible for the chase once he is reinstated by NASCAR.

It sounds like that will be a huge factor for Stewart-Haas Racing once Busch is reinstated. Under NASCAR rules, a driver must attempt all the races, Busch has missed three races now and would need an exception from NASCAR to remain eligible for the racing series playoff system. Currently the no. 41 is not chase eligible because of missed races by Busch and the fact that replacement driver Regan Smith declared he was running 2015 for Xfinity Series points. Under NASCAR rules, a driver may only run for points in one national touring series.

“Some of our concerns are, obviously, if he does come back, could we get in the Chase. So, those issues now kind of really reside with NASCAR,” Stewart-Haas Racing co owner Gene Haas told Jayski.com.

NASCAR has given Chase eligibility exemptions to drivers in the past for time missed for medical reasons. They also gave Tony Stewart an exemption last fall when he missed three races over the death of Kevin Ward Jr. This is a huge concern for Haas as he is not only the co-owner but his company, Haas-CNC, serves as the primary sponsor for the no. 41 team.
