Christian Post Report – Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” is one of the reasons to look forward to this summer. Set to reprise MCU’s all-time favorite characters like Thor (Chris Helmsworth), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans), and many others, talks about the upcoming film are currently focused on its primary antagonist, Ultron.

Director Joss Whedon shed some details about the villain saying that the character, along with its powers, will have a different origin as opposed to the comic book canon.

“They reinvented him in Ultimates and stuff. At one point he was a beautiful woman … I’m not doing that one!” he told SFX magazine. “I loved him when I read the comics as a kid, because of the scope and the sci-fi and what the team was going through, but I never looked to Ultron himself in the comics for why I love Ultron.”

The character Ultron, voice-acted by “The Blacklist” star James Spader, is also being compared with the first Avenger’s enemy Loki (Tom Hiddleston).

“The thing that worked about Loki was that he was able to get inside everybody’s head a little bit, and Ultron, he’s got the same thing. He knows pretty much everything there is to know about these guys. The only way you can attack Earth’s mightiest heroes is from within,” Whedon explained.

Speaking about Spader, Whedon commended how the actor hit all the notes for the role.

“Everything I’ve ever given to Spader he’s just knocked out of the park,” the 50-year-old director said.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” premieres May 1, 2015.

Christian Post Report – The saga of Kurt Bush continued this weekend when team car owner started raising questions about his return to the no. 41 car. Busch faces a long road to return, while he has signed a terms and conditions for consideration of reinstatement with NASCAR, it is not known what those terms and conditions are.

NASCAR has said the facing of criminal charges was one of these factors but since Busch will not be charged so he has cleared that hurdle. The next hurdle he may have to clear is whether or not his race team will remain eligible for the chase once he is reinstated by NASCAR.

It sounds like that will be a huge factor for Stewart-Haas Racing once Busch is reinstated. Under NASCAR rules, a driver must attempt all the races, Busch has missed three races now and would need an exception from NASCAR to remain eligible for the racing series playoff system. Currently the no. 41 is not chase eligible because of missed races by Busch and the fact that replacement driver Regan Smith declared he was running 2015 for Xfinity Series points. Under NASCAR rules, a driver may only run for points in one national touring series.

“Some of our concerns are, obviously, if he does come back, could we get in the Chase. So, those issues now kind of really reside with NASCAR,” Stewart-Haas Racing co owner Gene Haas told Jayski.com.

NASCAR has given Chase eligibility exemptions to drivers in the past for time missed for medical reasons. They also gave Tony Stewart an exemption last fall when he missed three races over the death of Kevin Ward Jr. This is a huge concern for Haas as he is not only the co-owner but his company, Haas-CNC, serves as the primary sponsor for the no. 41 team.

HBO’s True Blood, starring Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin, is entering its sixth season.

Christian Post Report – “True Blood” alum Anna Paquin is in talks with HBO to produce in and star in a miniseries called “Madame X.”

Oscar winner and “True Blood” actress Anna Pacquin is currently negotiating with HBO on a miniseries, Madame X,” that she and husband Stephen Moyer are developing. Pacquin is set to star in the series, and will serve as the show’s executive producer together with Moyer and “Kung Fu Panda” star Jack Black.

“Madame X” is a period drama based on “My Notorious Life,” a novel written by Kate Manning. It’s the true-to-life story of a Victorian-era second generation Irish woman, midwife Axie Muldoon, who spent her life helping pregnant women keep their babies, or get rid of unwanted ones amidst the squalor of 19th century New York. The book also detailed how she avoided attention from a politician deadset on implementing Victorian morality on society.

The miniseries is both a family saga and a love story about an impoverished and controversial woman who changed the lives of countless other women around her to become one of the wealthiest and infamous females of her time.

“Madame X” marks Pacquin’s first foray into television since “True Blood” ended in 2014 after a six-year run. Pacquin and her husband, “True Blood” co-star, Moyer, are raising their two-and-a-half-year-old fraternal twins while Moyer is currently filming indie thriller “Detour.”

The new miniseries is slated as a starring vehicle for the actress, produced by the couple’s production company, Casm Films, together with Jack Black’s own production outfit.

Lynn Shelton, who helmed “Laggies” and “Your Sister’s Sister,” has signed on to direct the miniseries, with Julia Hart of “The Keeping Room” writing the screenplay.

HBO has yet to release information on when the show is set to premiere.

Christian Post Report – Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra recently signed with ABC to join the cast of the network new terrorist drama series “Quantico.” She will play a female lead role opposite Jake McLaughlin. This is her first assignment in the US and it is also the first time a Bollywood star joins a pilot on ABC, according to reports.

“I took a leap of faith when (ABC head of casting) Keli Lee asked me to join the ABC family, and I’m so excited to be a part of the pilot for ‘Quantico’ alongside an incredibly talented cast and production team,” she told Variety.

Priyanka will play Jake MacLaughlin’s love interest. According to The Daily Mail, the two will meet on a flight where MacLaughlin’s character will charm Priyanka. He will eventually be discovered as pretending to someone he is not.

Other confirmed cast members include Aunjanue Ellis of “The Mentalist,” Dougray Scott of “Taken 3,” Tate Ellington, Graham Rogers, Johanna Braddy and Yasmine Al Massri.

The series will be centered on the story of a group of young FBI recruits as they are going through rigid training in the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Each of the recruits have their own dark backstories and reasons for joining the FBI and this will be explored in the series. One of the recruits will turn out to be a “sleeper terrorist” who took part in the 9/11 terrorist attack in the U.S. The show will toggle between present-day and flashbacks, according to Variety.

The series is penned and executive produced by “Gossip Girl’s” Josh Safran. The network has yet to announce when the series will be shown, but it is among ABC’s line up of pilots for TV season 2015-2016.

Priyanka has more than 20 films under her belt and also won the Miss Universe crown in 2000. She will continue to work in Bollywood while working with ABC.

The Dallas Mavericks will try to complete a season sweep as they face the Cleveland Cavaliers at the American Airlines Center in the NBA.

Christian Post Report – Only meeting twice in the regular season, the Mavs hold the advantage after beating the Cavs 109-90 at Quicken Loans Arena.

Balanced scoring helped the Western Conference squad secure the win, with six players scoring in double figures – led by 20 points from guard Monta Ellis. Dirk Nowitzki was efficient and productive, with 15 points and shooting 58 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc.

In the losing effort, Kevin Love was the only productive player for the Cavs, scoring 30 points while shooting 11-of-21 from the field. He also pulled down 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Kyrie Irving struggled as he shot 2-of-9 from the field for six points, as the Cavs showed they are clearly a different team when LeBron James isn’t playing on the floor as he sat out due to knee and back soreness.

However, with James back healthy, the Cavs have slowly climbed the Eastern conference rankings. They hold a 40-25 record which is good for second in the East, and have won three of their last four matches.

James has also reinserted himself in the MVP conversation, as he averages 26 points, 7.3 assists and 5.7 rebounds per contest.

Meanwhile, the Mavs have struggled recently and have only won two of their last six matches. Their most recent result was a 100-93 win over the struggling Los Angeles Lakers which helped them improve their record to 41-24 – good enough for sixth in the Western conference.

Five players average double figures in scoring, led by Ellis with 19.2, Nowitzki with 17.3 and Chandler Parsons with 15.3.

Amar’e Stoudemire has given great production coming off the bench, scoring 11.8 points a game while playing under 23 minutes every night.

Jeremy Macklin signs with the Kansas City Chiefs to be reunited with Head Coach Andy Reid

Philadelphia Eagles Wide receiver Jeremy Macklin has reportedly agreed to a new contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. The move will reunite Macklin with Head Coach Andy Reid, who was a big part of the decision for the Eagles to draft Macklin in the 2009 NFL draft.

The Eagles and Macklin have been headed for a split ever since the two failed to get a multi-year extension done two off seasons ago. While an injury wiped out his contract year, Macklin wanted to bet on himself on a one year deal. Making him a free agent this off season. After racking up over 1300 receiving yards in 2014 he cashed in on a deal with the Chiefs that is reportedly worth $11 million per year.

The market is different this off season and the Eagles, who were looking for a bigger receiver, can sign Andre Johnson for much less that it would have cost them to resign Macklin. In Kansas City, Macklin becomes the legit number one receiver and the team will likely look to get out of the $56 million deal for Dwayne Bowe.

Macklin becomes the latest Eagle to leave the team under Chip Kelly’s tenure. Last off season the team released DeSean Jackson. This year they traded away LeSean McCoy, let Macklin walk, and released long time starting offensive lineman Tom Herrremans.

In a front office shake up earlier this off season, Kelly was placed in charge of all personnel decisions for the Eagles. Even though the team has won 10 games in each of the last two season Kelly continues to reshape the roster in his own image. He is unafraid to make unpopular decisions believes in his system.

Bungie, the creator of the first-person shooter game “Destiny,” announced during the San Francisco Game Development Conference that the game now has over 17 million registered users. According to the user research study that was presented, the average playing time of each user is pegged at three hours per day, which is higher than what Bungie initially expected when they developed the game.

When the game was launched in September 2014, the game’s creators promised that it will continuously provide new content for the game within a 10 year period, which for them meant “building on” and enhancing the existing universe of the game rather than “restarting periodically.” During its launch, Bungie confirmed that there will be two expansion packs of downloadable content: “The Dark Below” and “The House of Wolves.” “The Dark Below,” the first expansion pack, was released in December 2014. “The House of Wolves,” on the other hand did not get a definite release date, with an estimated release date sometime during the second quarter of 2015.

In early February, rumors about a March release date for “The House of Wolves” started circulating, which were not confirmed. Come early March, several reports also came out that the second expansion pack will be ready by May 19. According to an IGN report, a Reddit user claimed that the pack will be unlocked by that time.

“The Queen’s Fallen have purchased their freedom with Awoken blood. Hunt down the traitors and your debt to the Queen will be paid.” It will include “new story missions and a new raid, along with three fresh multiplayer maps and a new strike,” a description about “The House of Wolves” expansion pack says.

All of these reports and leaks have been shared in an official forum for “Destiny.” The community manager of Bungie’s official forum, however, warned users that until Bungie makes official announcements about the game, none of what has been shared online is final.

Christian Post Report – Following the trends set up by big mobile manufacturers like Apple, with their iPhone 5s, and recently with Samsung on their Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, rumors indicate that LG might be integrating the fingerprint scanner technology on its next purported flagship, the LG G4.

A report from website Korea Herald cited several sources saying that the South Korean tech giant is currently on the lookout to introduce a fingerprint sensor on the G4.

“LG Electronics has recently decided to deploy a fingerprint sensor on its next flagship smartphone and the scanner will be placed at the back of the device,” an informer said.

As indicated by the person with the knowledge of the issue, the sensor will likely be positioned in the power button on the back.

The site noted that LG officials have denied the said plans of a fingerprint sensor-embedded LG G4.

As time goes by, fingerprint scanning has slowly becoming a staple in mobile manufacturing. Just recently, Qualcomm announced its new type of fingerprint readers which greatly relies on 3D scanning – a feature which could surpass the already popular Touch ID technology from Apple in terms of speed and security.

With the upsurge of this particular technology trend, it seems about right for LG to join the bandwagon.

“LG has been left behind in the race for fintech (portmanteau of finance and technology) as it has continued to postpone the adoption of fingerprint technology,” another source said. “With more global smartphone-makers incorporating a fingerprint reader, which is a security measure for mobile payments, LG may have had few options left but to deploy the authentication sensor for its next marquee smartphone.”

The purported LG G4 will be brought to open “within the second quarter” of 2015 and will be followed after with another “premium handset” in the later part of the year.

Christian Post Report – Deitrick Haddon is partnering with eOne Music for an epoch-making partnership with the introduction of his DHVisions record label.

Haddon, the 41-year-old minister, gospel singer and producer who appeared on the Oxygen docu-series “Preachers of L.A.,” was signed to eOne Nashville recently where he will release new music for his DHVisions record label.

Haddon said his goal is to elevate gospel music to new heights and explained why he decided to partner with eOne Music for his latest venture to create new music on DHVisions.

“As I sat down with Phil and the entire eOne team, I realized we have the same goal, and that’s to unapologetically push Gospel music to new heights,” Haddon said in a statement obtained by The Christian Post. “It’s rare to find a label that’s on the same page as the artist. I feel that my music and my vision are in good hands with eOne! Let’s Go.”

Haddon took to Instagram to thank his business partner Dr. Holly Carter, CEO and founder of Relevé Entertainment, for reminding him that he was not solely a television star after his success on “Preachers of L.A.” He went on to thank his family, before vowing to deliver new music to his fans.

“I spoke with a lot of companies but it was something special about EOne’s passion for entertainment & the Gospel from the entire staff that moved me,” Haddon wrote in the Instagram message. “First order of business is to get my supporters the music they’ve always loved and wanted from me!”

Haddon has recently been vocal about wanting to focus more on his music ambitions rather than television with the announcement of his new record label.

“I officially started on my new solo record this week. I’m taking a break from t.v. for a minute to put my heart & soul in this record,” Haddon wrote on Instagram. “I’m in a very solemn yet creative place and I feel my good songs coming!! #newalbum2015 #Official #creativity #Art #gospel #Soulful #Dhvisions.”

Christian Post Report – During the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, Blackberry CEO John Chen showcased a brand new Blackberry device to the press.

According to reports, the device is a slider similar to the Torch, which was announced a couple of years ago.

Reports also mentioned that aside from the slider technology, the mysterious smartphone also had curved display similar to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. The Galaxy S6 Edge just took home the MWC crown this year.

Based on the reports of the unknown Blackberry slider phone, artist Dylan Habkirk decided to make a concept design for the smartphone.

In the report by TechnoBuffalo, the device imagined by Habkirk boasts a dual-edged screen with QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, a 16MP primary camera at the back, and a slide-out QWERTY keypad that has 35 keys.

In the concept art, the Blackberry device is described having a huge 3,560mAh battery.

The past few months, Blackberry has been reaping the rewards of its biggest risk in recent years – the Blackberry Passport.

The Passport combined the touchscreen experience with the company’s well-loved QWERTY keypad like never seen before.

Moreover, it featured the current high-end specs, so people who want to get the latest in technology made sure not to miss it.

Given the success of the Passport, the Canada-based manufacturer could use the same risk in developing this unnamed slider phone.
