Trump Announces Non-Essential Travel Ban to Mexico, Canada as Illinois Follows CA with 'Stay Home' Order
WASHINGTON – On Friday, President Trump announced a ban on non-essential travel with Mexico and Canada.
Health experts say travel bans have been effective in delaying the spread of the virus.
“Providing an update on what we are doing to minimize the impact of the Chinese virus,” Trump told reporters in a news briefing at the White House.
It’s the President’s latest effort to contain the outbreak includes restricting border travel.
“To prevent the transmission of the virus coming through both the northern and southern border, we are treating the borders equally,” he said.
This news comes as residents of the states of California and Illinois are ordered to stay home
New York is doing something similar with non-essential workers.
“I’ve watched what’s been happening in California with Governor Newsom and Governor Cuomo. I applaud them they are taking very strong bold steps,” Trump said.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) also canceled all state-wide non-critical elective surgeries in an effort to free up beds for COVID-19 patients.
Officials anticipate close to 30% of the state residents will have the virus in the next 8 weeks, which adds up to more than 10 million people.
To prepare for demand and likely shortages, Cuomo is asking retired doctors and nurses to come back to work.
“PPE, gloves, gown, masks, suppliers I am now asking all product providers all companies who are in this business,” Cuomo said. “We will pay a premium for these products.”
Trump says he will invoke the Defense Production Act to direct private companies to speed up medical equipment production.
As a result of the stay-at-home orders, more people are getting delivery and take out food. But amid worldwide calls to social distance not everyone is listening.
“I don’t think the young people are taking seriously the virus,” said Massimo Barracca, a Miami Beach, Fla. resident. They have less risk than us. I’m 64 and my wife she’s in her 50’s.”
Popular beaches in Florida are now closed after crowds were seen gathering during spring break.
“I realize that all the orders can overwhelm people, but they are necessary,” said Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez.
President Trump says he doesn’t think he will find it necessary to have a nationwide lockdown.
The White House also announced Tax Day is pushed back from April 15 to July 15. People expecting a refund can file now.
Lawmakers plan to work through the weekend on the phase 3 relief package.
CBN News is hearing it could include an option for people to withdraw 10% of their 401k without penalties in an effort to help people during the outbreak.

Governor warns that 56% of California could get coronavirus: Why you don’t need to fear the future
California is projecting that 56 percent of its population could become infected with coronavirus over the next eight weeks. Governor Gavin Newsom made this statement as a warning that we must take drastic steps now to slow the spread of the virus.
As a result, the governor issued a statewide order today mandating that all Californians must stay at home except for essential things such as food, prescriptions, health care, and commuting to jobs considered crucial. These restrictions will remain in place until further notice.
As we deal with a crisis unprecedented in my lifetime, we
face a future none of us can see. In this context, something I noticed just now
in reading John 12 may be encouraging.
Why you don’t need to fear the future
Jesus had raised Lazarus from the dead, which understandably caught the attention of many.
Then our Lord came to Bethany, “where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead” (John 12:1). John tells us that “when the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead” (v. 9).
This was a problem for the religious authorities, who were
terrified that Jesus and his followers would stage an uprising that would cost
them their jobs and perhaps their lives at the hand of Rome. As a result,
“the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well, because on
account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus”
(vv. 10–11).
Here was my thought: I doubt that this threat worried
Lazarus very much.
Think about it: he had already been through death and had seen
God’s glory on the other side. Then Jesus brought him back to his earthly body,
though he would die again one day. Now that he had seen what happens when we
die, he knew that death is only a promotion from this fallen world to God’s

‘Give Us Peace for Our Children and Elders’: Actor Jon Voight Prays God Ends the COVID-19 Pandemic
Actor Jon Voight prayed in a YouTube video this week, asking God to eliminate the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to CBN News, Voight posted the video to YouTube. Voight, 81, is a vocal Christian and supporter of President Donald Trump.
“This nation is under God, with liberty,” Voight says in the video. “Joshua has lifted his ark and will show his kingdom that this virus will not wipe out his men. He will battle to the end and he will show Jesus the prayer.
“Oh mighty, oh Lord. Bring us to our feet to love you more,” he says. “Oh Lord, oh our Savior, teach us more, but lift this veil over our heads and wipe away this curse that has taken us down with fear. Oh Lord, give us peace on our holy land, give us peace for our children and elders. Oh Lord, give us light to shine on our souls so we may be strong to fight. Oh Lord, we are all one with You.
“My fellow Americans, we will rid this virus. We will be strong because we are the greatest gift to mankind. We are all God’s children. God bless this nation and the entire creation. And may God protect our president and his family. Love to you,” Voight said.
In an interview this week with a celebrity news site, Voight said Trump is doing a “wonderful job” fighting the pandemic.

Most White Evangelicals Approve of Trump’s COVID-19 Response, Survey Finds
Most white evangelical Protestants – one of President Donald Trump’s most important electoral blocs – have a positive assessment of his administration’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic so far, Pew Research Center reports.
Pew said its findings are based on research conducted between March 10-16. This was after the nation’s first coronavirus death, but during which Trump declared a national state of emergency on March 13. The period preceded his initial proposal for an unprecedented economic relief package, which has ballooned to $1 trillion, and which Congress is working on to finalize and approve.
More than three-quarters (77 percent) of white evangelicals say they “are at least somewhat confident” in Trump’s response to the outbreak. The World Health Organization declared the crisis a pandemic on March 11.
Almost half (49 percent) of those white evangelicals say they are “very confident,” and majorities of that group say Trump has “assessed the risks of the situation correctly (64 percent), and that “the crisis has been blown out of proportion by the media (76 percent).”
Pew’s findings reveal gaps in the opinions of white evangelicals as compared to Americans overall.
For instance, less than a quarter (24 percent) of white evangelicals say the president hasn’t taken “seriously enough” the risks associated with the coronavirus. But more than half…

Father of Transformation Movement Leads LIVE Event – 'ACTS 19 – God's Response to COVID-19', TONIGHT at 10:00 Eastern
An Argentinian revivalist turned Father of the Transformation movement around the world is calling the church to a live internet broadcast Friday night to share hope about the coronavirus situation. He has rallied some extremely impactful friends to join him and they together believe that God has a remedy for the nations and that it is linked to faith and prayer.
Dr. Ed Silvoso is most notable for his impact in mentoring Christian leaders to bring transformation to the world around them with the Gospel into every sphere of society. Not only are people in his ministry involved with the intense immigration issues in the US, but they are mentoring government leaders in the local school curriculum, training people in the entertainment industry and doing mentoring programs with CEOs and chairmen in some of the most respected companies in the world.
It’s no wonder that Silvoso has the faith to lead leaders and mentor trainers. A native of Argentina, he was involved in the 1984 revival in his country. At the time, the nation was declared to be the hardest in which to preach the gospel, with the lowest number of evangelicals in Latin America. The economy had crashed and the level of poverty was at an all-time high.
Then through a move of God, between 200,000 to 300,000 people became Christians, including many people in influential positions and it created a transformation of the metrics in the nation. It touched every facet from the prison system to the president’s family. Silvoso believes this is going to happen again here in the US.
Silvoso had already initiated a team of prophets and apostles for the state of California, lead by Pastor’s Bill Johnson and Kris Vallotton of the Bethel Church in Redding, Pastor Che Ahn of HIM network, and myself, amongst others. Together, we rallied leaders from across the state on Oct. 18, 2019, to give vision and hope in their last Transformation Now broadcast. He proposed another such broadcast now, saying that he had heard the Holy Spirit tell him, “We need to do this to prepare people.”
When I asked Silvoso what was behind it he shared, “COVID-19 has the world crippled and staggering in fear and uncertainty. However, the Scriptures declare that it has been defeated by the Lord Jesus at the cross and that by His stripes we have been healed. It is done. Now it has to be proclaimed and appropriated.”
“Three days ago, Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton, Shawn Bolz, Ché Ahn and I were led by God to meet in His presence and He instructed us to activate His Church, which is also called the Ekklesia in Greek, to claim His promises to turn the tide of destruction engulfing our nation and the world,” Silvoso continued.
To that effect, we are inviting everyone to join us this Friday at 10:00 pm Eastern/7:00 pm Pacific for an all-important LiveCast titled “ACTS 19 – God’s Response to COVID-19.”
Each of the leaders involved with the LiveCast has prepared a specific message to strengthen Christians to believe for God’s plan and story for this epidemic.
When Bolz asked Silvoso what made him choose Acts 19, he explained.
“Because in that passage we see the Church operating as the Ekklesia, the name of the early church called themselves, outside of the religious buildings with such power and favor in the eyes of the unbelievers that “all who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord…and God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul” (Acts 19:10-11),” Silvoso said.
“We firmly believe that this current crisis is an opportunity for us, the Ekklesia, to operate in new arenas for God to perform extraordinary miracles, for deliverance from fear and depression, for financial provision and, most important yet, for massive salvations so that large numbers of people will be saved through the manifestation of the children of God. This is not unlike the persecution reported in Acts 11:19-21 that resulted in the Gospel breaking out into the Gentile world,” he continued.
“In listening to what Bill Johnson is going to present, I could see that God has given this team some of the most empowering prophetic words regarding the pandemic, and inspiring Scriptural promises to be claimed in unison with you and myriad of believers all over the world during this LiveCast,” Silvoso concluded.
Pastor Che Ahn shared how he’ s convinced that the world has never been so ripe for revival and how this is the time for the church to evangelize.

Despite Coronavirus, Chinese Government Continues to Destroy Churches, Steal Crosses
With the Chinese forced to devote huge resources to containing the spread of COVID-19, you would think that the communist government might temporarily lay off persecuting the nation’s hard-pressed Christian community.
Sadly not.
Instead, the shuttering of churches to stem coronavirus infections has presented the state with a key opportunity to ransack sanctuaries and strip worship centers of their Christian symbolism.

The evidence is shocking. On March 13, and with residents in self-isolation, a church in Guoyang County, Anhui Province, had its cross removed in broad daylight. Video of the incident showed a crane winching a large red cross out of the church premises:

Though the church usually has around 40 people attending Sunday service, authorities reportedly exploited the nationwide shutdown by heading into the church and removing the cross while it was empty.
The state-mandated persecution hasn’t stopped there. Earlier this week, China Aid’s Bob Fu shared shocking footage of a church in Yixing city, Jiangsu, being razed to the ground. “Religious persecution continues even in the midst of #WuhanVirus,” he wrote.

According to International Christian Concern, most of the country’s churches — underground or state-approved — have been meeting online since the shutdown began. There is a worry, however, that the government will roll out a brutal crackdown on these virtual gatherings as soon as the virus response begins to settle down.
