Woman Pleads Guilty to Selling Illegal Abortion-Inducing Drugs Online

A woman pretending to sell jewelry pleaded guilty this week for instead supplying illegal abortion-inducing drugs to Wisconsin residents.

The New York City woman, Ursula Wing, used a jewelry store as a front for the prescription pills, according to the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dan Graber explained that Wing imported the drugs, Mifepristone and Misoprostol, from India and sold them in kits for $85. The drugs are intended to induce early-term abortions.

Though the FDA permits licensed physicians to prescribe the drugs, Wing was not qualified to sell or ship them. The U.S. Postal Service also considers the drugs poisons, which Wing was not authorized to send.

One of her customers, Jeffrey Smith, was recently arrested in Wisconsin for allegedly attempting to use the drugs on his pregnant girlfriend in 2018 by slipping them into her water bottle when she wasn’t looking. However, she noticed a residue in the water and handed it over to authorities who discovered the water contained Mifepristone.

Smith had ordered the pills through Wing’s blog, The Macrobiotic Stoner. The blog pretended to sell jewelry, then offered a portal to another website where customers would order the pills. He is currently awaiting trial on charges of attempted intentional homicide of an unborn child.

Wing’s purpose in selling the drugs was to assist women in procuring abortions at a lower…

US Fights Back Against COVID-19 as Health Expert Testifies Virus '10 Times Deadlier Than the Flu'

The US is fighting back against COVID-19 following emergency declarations in 18 states and the state of New York orders the nation’s first containment zone.

“It is a dramatic action,” said  Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) “This is literally a matter of life and death.”

In Europe, countries announced on Wednesday increased government spending to stop the spread of the virus.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes that around 60 – 70 percent of the German population will contract the coronavirus.

US Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar says this is just the beginning of the disease’s escalation.

“This is a virus. This will spread,” said Azar. “We need to take steps to slow that, buy ourselves time.”

That time will be used to ship millions of test kits and setting up testing locations to try and minimize the spread.

“When people need a test, they can get a test. when the professionals need a test, they can get the test,” said President Trump

The president is also proposing to suspend the payroll tax to boost the economy, but lawmakers say they prefer targeted measures to assist hourly workers and the travel industry.

Other examples of the impact, include the cancellation of the New York City Half Marathon. The popular music festival Coachella has also been postponed.

Major companies like Apple and Google have encouraged their employees to work from home.

Some universities have even canceled classes. Harvard has told students to move out of the dorms and take online classes instead.

Testifying on Capitol Hill, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, warned that the outbreak in the U.S. is going to get worse.

“I can say we will see more cases, and things will get worse than they are right now,” Fauci told the House Oversight and Reform Committee. Facing questions from lawmakers, Fauci explained, “It is 10 times more lethal than the seasonal flu.”

PODCAST: Thriftiness, Part 1 (The Man in the Mirror #71 with Daniel Whyte III)

I’m Daniel Whyte III and you’re listening to The Man in the Mirror, Episode 71

This podcast is directed to all young people, but primarily to young black men, young black women, and their parents. We are thankful for all the people who are standing up for justice and racial equality. But this podcast is about the man in the mirror. What are you doing for the glory of God, to make life better for others, for your family, and for yourself? This podcast is about living life in such a way that it cuts back on the chance of being harassed or killed by the authorities or anyone else and helps you to live the good life of peace and joy.

Psalm 119:9 says, “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.”

Jim Rohn said, “You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself.”

Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”

In keeping with our theme of dealing with the man (or woman) in the mirror, we are going to continue discussing the building of important biblical character traits in your life. Today, we are looking at the quality of Thriftiness, Part 1 from the Institute in Basic Life Principles.

Thriftiness is multiplying my resources through wise investments so I have more to give back to God.

Thriftiness is the basis for wise stewardship. Therefore, Jesus’ teaching on stewardship provides an understanding of thriftiness.

The Greek word for stewardship is oikonomia; it identifies a steward’s management of the property of his master. His faithfulness is determined by how successful he is in wisely using and increasing the resources under his care.

When we meet the Lord at the end of our lives, He will give us an evaluation of our thriftiness. His highest commendation will be, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord” (Matthew 25:21).

Entrance into Heaven is not a reward for our good works. It is the gift of God to those who cry out to Him for salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. However, when a believer enters Heaven, he will be commended on the basis of his stewardship. Therefore, the account of three stewards that Jesus presented provides significant insights about thriftiness.

“For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

“Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

“After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

“He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

“Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

“His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury” (Matthew 25:14–27).

It appears that the first two servants understood and practiced the principles of thriftiness. They used as few funds as possible for consumable items, and as much of their resources as possible on that which would bring greater returns.

Let’s Pray

Now, in closing, in order to be saved — in order to get right with God — you cannot look at the man in the mirror, but the Man Christ Jesus. First Timothy 2:5 says, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, here is how.

John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that -whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can have a home in Heaven. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

God bless you.

PODCAST: The Ministry and Prayer, Part 1 (Prayer Motivator Devotional #770 with Daniel Whyte III)

Welcome to the Prayer Motivator Devotional Broadcast #770. This is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International. The simple purpose of this podcast is to encourage you, exhort you, and motivate you to Just Pray. This podcast is not necessarily for people who already know the secret and power of prayer and who actually practice genuine prayer on a regular basis, rather it is for those who may find it difficult to pray or for people who claim they do not have time to pray. I am convinced that most Christian people do not need to learn how to pray; they need to Just Pray! If I can get you to just pray, all sorts of wonderful things will begin to happen for you, your family, and whatever God has called you to do. We do not pray based upon our subjective feelings, we pray based upon objective facts in the Word of God.

Our prayer motivator passage from the Word of God today is Matthew 6:13 which reads: “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

Allow me to share with you some important points regarding this passage from Matthew Henry’s Commentary:

6. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. This petition is expressed, (1.) Negatively: Lead us not into temptation. Having prayed that the guilt of sin may be removed, we pray, as it is fit, that we may never return again to folly, that we may not be tempted to it. It is not as if God tempted any to sin; but, “Lord, do not let Satan loose upon us; chain up that roaring lion, for he is subtle and spiteful; Lord, do not leave us to ourselves (Ps. 19:13 ), for we are very weak; Lord, do not lay stumbling-blocks and snares before us, nor put us into circumstances that may be an occasion of falling.’’ Temptations are to be prayed against, both because of the discomfort and trouble of them, and because of the danger we are in of being overcome by them, and the guilt and grief that then follow. (2.) Positively: But deliver us from evil; apo tou ponerou— from the evil one, the devil, the tempter; “keep us, that either we may not be assaulted by him, or we may not be overcome by those assaults:’’ Or from the evil thing, sin, the worst of evils; an evil, an only evil; that evil thing which God hates, and which Satan tempts men to and destroys them by. “Lord, deliver us from the evil of the world, the corruption that is in the world through lust; from the evil of every condition in the world; from the evil of death; from the sting of death, which is sin: deliver us from ourselves, from our own evil hearts: deliver us from evil men, that they may not be a snare to us, nor we a prey to them.’’

Our featured prayer motivator quote is from Charles Spurgeon. He said, “The man who is really forgiven is anxious not to offend again; the possession of justification leads to an anxious desire for sanctification. ‘Forgive us our debts,’ that is justification; ‘Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,’ that is sanctification in its negative and positive forms. Now, it would not be the course of nature to begin a life of prayer with the supplication of this morning. This is a petition for men already pardoned, for those who know their adoption, for those who love the Lord and desire to see his kingdom come. Taught of the Spirit to know their pardon, adoption, and union to Jesus, they can cry, and they alone— ‘Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.’”

My personal encouragement for you today is this: With all of the calamities and disasters that are happening in the world today, I am quite sure that you will agree that we are living in praying times. And the best way to combat crime, violence, immorality, family breakdown, natural disasters, pandemics, wars, and Satan’s efforts to lead millions astray is prayer.

Our prayer motivator devotional today is titled “THE MINISTRY AND PRAYER” part 1 from the book, “The Weapon of Prayer” by E.M. Bounds.

E.M. Bounds goes on to say:

“Of course the preacher is above all others distinguished as a man of prayer. He prays as an ordinary Christian, else he were a hypocrite. He prays more than ordinary Christians else he were disqualified for the office he has undertaken. If you as ministers are not very prayerful you are to be pitied. If you become lax in sacred devotion, not only will you need to be pitied but your people also, and the day cometh in which you will be ashamed and confounded. Our seasons of fastings and prayer at the Tabernacle have been high days indeed; never has heaven’s gate stood wider; never have our hearts been nearer the central glory.”—Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

Preachers are God’s leaders. They are divinely called to their holy office and high purpose and, primarily, are responsible for the condition of the Church. Just as Moses was called of God to lead Israel out of Egypt through the wilderness into the Promised Land, so, also, does God call His ministers to lead His spiritual Israel through this world unto the heavenly land. They are divinely commissioned to leadership, and are by precept and example to teach God’s people what God would have them be. Paul’s counsel to the young preacher Timothy is in point: “Let no man despise thy youth,” he says, “but be thou an example of the believers, in word, conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

God’s ministers shape the Church’s character, and give tone and direction to its life. The prefacing sentence of the letter to each of the seven churches in Asia reads, “To the angel of the Church,” seeming to indicate that the angel—the minister—was in the same state of mind and condition of life as the membership and that these “angels” or ministers were largely responsible for the spiritual condition of things existing in each Church. The “angel” in each case was the preacher, teacher, or leader. The first Christians knew full well and felt this responsibility. In their helplessness, consciously felt, they cried out, “And who is sufficient for things?” as the tremendous responsibility pressed upon their hearts and heads. The only reply to such a question was, “God only.” So they were necessarily compelled to look beyond themselves for help and throw themselves on prayer to secure God. More and more as they prayed, did they feel their responsibility, and more and more by prayer did they get God’s help. They realized that their sufficiency was of God.

Prayer belongs in a very high and important sense to the ministry. It takes vigour and elevation of character to administer the prayer-office. Praying prophets have frequently been at a premium in the history of God’s people. In every age the demand has been for leaders in Israel who pray. God’s watchmen must always and everywhere be men of prayer.

Now, friend, it is time for us to pray…

Remember, the announcer will provide the information for you to send in your prayer request at the end of this broadcast.

Please join me in prayer……..

We pray collectively and individually for the following:
> 3 million people to come to know you as Saviour
> the revival of the church
> the healing of families
> the healing of this nation
> blessings and guidance for all pastors, church leaders, and missionaries
> Salvation, leadership, and wisdom for the president and for all governmental officials who run this country and all other countries.

Now, Lord, we pray for three people who have sent in prayer requests:

Nancy
Bitutu
Ezra

Now, Lord we pray for the following people who have been saved for a while but who have recommitted their lives to You. We rejoice with them in this decision and pray that they will keep their commitments to you and be strengthened in the faith. We pray specifically for —-

Inder
Dessoursces
Jerry

***

Now, if you are listening today, and you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, allow me to show you how.

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”

Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now this is bad news, but here’s the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Until next time,

Remember, friend, Pray, Think, Do! God Bless You!

WATCH: SAT-7’s Interactive TV Program “Signal” Gives Iran’s ‘Secret’ Christians a Platform to Share Their Testimonies

An interactive satellite television program is giving a platform to Iran’s “secret” Christians to share their stories of hope with the outside world as the underground church in the Islamic Republic continues to grow.

For the last year-and-a-half, the global Christian satellite network SAT-7, which operates in 25 countries across the Middle East and North Africa, has aired the weekly interactive news talk show “Signal” on its Farsi-speaking channel, SAT-7 PARS.

“Signal” is the first interactive program of its kind giving a voice to Iran’s “secret church” at a time when many Christian converts in the country live under the constant threat of arrest and persecution. The show has been viewed in homes across Iran and the rest of the Middle East.

“For quite some time before we started producing and broadcasting the program, we were always trying to find a unique approach for the Christians, especially those residing inside the country, for being their voice,” the show’s host, Reza Jafari, told The Christian Post.

“Most of the Christian TV programs [available on Satellite TV in Iran] are either teaching programs or theological programs that are sort of like a monologue.”

Normally, Jafari said that viewers in countries like Iran or other places where Christians are persecuted don’t have an outlet to share their stories.

“So we thought we can produce a program that would not be like a monologue only but would be a platform that echoes and shares the voice and stories of people’s testimonies and journeys to other believers living across the globe,” he said.

Jafari himself converted to Christianity before he left Iran for Cyprus in 2003.

Since the Iranian Revolution of 1979, life has become much more difficult for minorities, especially Muslim converts, to live in Iran due to the ideological Shia regime that sees the growing underground Christian church in Iran as a threat to its power.

“Throughout the past decade, Iran became the fastest and biggest growing home church in the world,” he said. “And that’s also brought a bigger alarm for the government to monitor the Christians and especially converts even more than before.”

Senator Implores Department of Justice to Investigate Porn Site for Hosting Videos of Exploited Women, Children

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) is asking the Department of Justice to open an investigation into the website Pornhub and its parent company MindGeek.

Sasse is calling for the investigation after complaints surfaced that Pornhub has streamed “video of raped and exploited women and children.”

“This is pretty obvious: any company that profits from rape, trafficking, and exploitation must be held accountable,” Sasse said in a statement to Faithwire. “The reporting on Pornhub has been gut-wrenching. Pornhub and its parent company MindGeek must not escape scrutiny. The Department of Justice needs to take the first step of opening an investigation.

“In several notable incidents over the past year,” the senator said in a letter released Tuesday morning, “Pornhub made content available worldwide showing women and girls that were victims of trafficking being raped and exploited.”

According to FaithWire, Sasse’s request also followed a protest earlier this week at one of MindGeek’s headquarters in Montreal, Canada. The protest was held on International Women’s Day and attendees said they were concerned the company is profiting from “actual, real sex trafficking and rape.”

“I think it’s frankly horrifying and shocking for people, and it’s very motivating to take action,” Laila Mickelwait, one of the protestors, said.

Thrift store find turns out to be original Salvador Dali woodcarving: Finding your true worth

Salvador Dali was one of the best-known artists of the twentieth century. One of his paintings sold for $22.4 million. The last place you’d expect to find one of his works was in a back room of a thrift store on a table along with other donated art.

But that’s exactly where a volunteer at a thrift shop in North Carolina found a piece of art making headlines today.

She was going through donations when she spotted something that looked “special.” She asked for the opinion of an appraiser, who notified the shop that the art in question was a wood engraving from Dali’s series called “The Divine Comedy.” It was even signed by the artist.

Most of the art donated to the shop sells for about $10 to $50. The Dali woodcarving sold for $1,200. The shop will use the proceeds to help pay for their shelter for survivors of domestic violence and abuse, anti-bullying efforts, and other programs.

From this remarkable story, we learn an important fact: our value is determined by whose we are more than who we are.

Finding your true worth

While I can make no claim to expertise in art valuation,
I’ve seen the piece of art online and wouldn’t consider it anything special.
It’s not surprising to me that the previous owner donated the piece or that
volunteers who first saw it weren’t impressed.

But when a true expert determined its origin, everything
changed.

Our culture measures us by the three “P”s:
popularity, possessions, and performance. None of them has anything to do with
the fact that we are created by the God who created the universe.

His Son chose to die for us before he made us (Revelation
13:8). In fact, the Lord made the human race knowing that our sins would cost
him the death of his Son. Jesus knows every sin we’ve forgotten we committed
and every sin we don’t yet know we will commit. But he would die all over
again, just for us.

The best advice I’ve ever received came from my youth
minister…

15 Saved during Church Service Hours before Large Gatherings Are Restricted over Coronavirus

15 Saved during Church Service Hours before Large Gatherings Are Restricted over Coronavirus

Fifteen people were saved during a church service in France this Sunday, just hours before the French government restricted large gatherings due to an outbreak of the Coronavirus.

In a CBN News video report, Senior Pastor Dorotheé Rajiah of Paris Centre Chrétien – the Paris Christian Center – shared, “Many churches have decided to close their service. So we were wondering what to do. So we decided to stay open and to preach the word and to preach faith.”

The congregation did, however, take additional precautions that meant forgoing long-held cultural and social traditions at the church.

“We told the people,” Raijah said in the video, “they should not shake hands or give [a] kiss. And we told the people that we can wave at people and greet the people with their hands and tell them, ‘I love you from the heart.’”

“And today 15 people got saved. So we are so excited about it,” Rajiah said.

According to CBN News reporter Chuck Holton, there are few protestant churches in France that have more than a thousand members. The Paris Christian Center is one of them.

Holton explained that the Paris Christian Center “doesn’t look much like a church because non-Catholic congregations have been denied building permits for over a hundred years in this country. So the congregation of the Paris Christian Center meets in a renovated parking garage. But that…
