Rev. Mark H. Creech on Courageous Preachers Are the Nation’s Conscience

More than thirty years ago, Christian author, W. Phillip Keller, in his book, Predators in our Pulpits, wrote an indictment of most preachers today. He declared:

“Pastors, ministers, evangelists, and teachers are so eager to be liked by their congregation, so keen to be popular with their parishioners, so determined to be accepted by their society that they refuse to cry out against its evils as did the prophets of old. They live in abject fear of being despised or rejected of men as was the Master. They will go instead to great lengths to insinuate themselves into society in order to be ‘one of the good old boys,’ hail, well-met, and having achieved a rapport with the world around them.”

Then there are those faithful few who understand their calling, who know as Vance Havner said, “A true servant of God is best measured not by how many bouquets have been pinned on him, but how many bricks have been hurled at him.” These clergies are keenly aware that when they appear before the Almighty, he’ll not look for medals but scars.

Just such a preacher stood before the Kansas State Senate in 1996 and gave the opening prayer – a prayer that caused a furor – a prayer that departed from the usual spiritual pleasantries – a prayer that caused several legislators to walk out in protest. On that fateful day, Pastor Joe Wright, filled with the Spirit of God, courageously stood before those who governed and prayed:

“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We confess:

“We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it pluralism.

“We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.

“We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle.

“We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

“We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

“We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

“We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

“We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.

“We have abused power and called it politics.

“We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition.

“We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

“We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

“Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.

“Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of your will. I ask it in the name of your Son, the living Savior, Jesus Christ.

“Amen.”

Wright’s prayer wasn’t heard merely in the Kansas Senate Chamber that day, but around the country. And it’s been more than thirty years since we’ve heard anything quite like it since.

That is, until a couple of weeks ago, when another good soldier of the Cross stood before the Virginia legislature, and like his predecessor, Joe Wright, better still like the prophets of old, called out that body.

With the very unction of God, Rev. Robert M. Grant, Jr, prayed:

“I pray that both sides [Democrat and Republican] will put down their own selfish ambitions and need for importance and do their job and stand for what is right in the sight of God… These are crucial times that we are living in.  The average citizen of our great state wants our elected officials to look beyond their personal ambitions and create bills and laws that are sensible, equitable, and sustainable. Real common-sense laws.

Joe Biden Wins Big in South Carolina; Buttigieg and Steyer Drop Out

Joe Biden Wins Big in South Carolina; Buttigieg and Steyer Drop Out

Former Vice President Joe Biden took a commanding lead in the Democratic primaries this weekend, earning nearly half of South Carolina’s votes, according to the AP.

“We are very much alive,” Biden said in a post-election rally. “For all of you who have been knocked down, counted out, left behind—this is your campaign.”

Biden had been struggling to gain traction in the primaries. With a lack of funding and staffers, the 77-year-old candidate limped through Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada’s votes. But South Carolina’s win surges him forward and earned him an endorsement from former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe.

The black vote carried Biden largely to victory. He won 63 percent of their votes. Older voters, women, moderates, conservatives, and regular churchgoers also cast a vote for him.

AP VoteCast polled several South Carolina voters and found that 45 percent of them want to “return to the politics of the past.” And half of African American voters hope a Democratic president would model the Obama presidency.

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders took second place in the state with 19 percent of voters and 14 percent of African American voters.

“That will not be the only defeat,” Sanders said while campaigning in Virginia. “A lot of states in this country. Nobody wins them all. Now we enter Super Tuesday.”

The defeat, however, marked the end for two candidates. Billionaire…

At National Religious Broadcasters Convention, AG William Barr Says Christian Media is Essential to Preservation of Christianity in the Public Square Amid ‘Steady Erosion of Religion’ in the U.S.

Attorney General William Barr said Christian media is essential to the preservation of Christianity in the public square as the United States continues to experience a “steady erosion of religion and its benevolent influence.”

“We live at a time when religion – long an essential pillar of our society – is being driven from the public square,” Barr told those gathered at the National Religious Broadcasters Christian Media Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, last week. “Thank God we have the National Religious Broadcasters to counter that effort.”

“Your members courageously affirm that entertainment and moral education are not mutually exclusive,” he continued. “You have boldly shown that media can serve higher ends: the safeguarding of faith as well as the cultivation of the classical virtues of the mind and heart that maintain our republican experiment in self-governance. As such, NRB’s members offer an alternative and essential platform for believers and nonbelievers alike.”

The reason politics is “omnipresent” today, Barr said, is partly because progressives are moving away from the liberal democracy envisioned by the founding fathers.

“That has played a major role in our politics becoming less like a disagreement within a family, and more like a blood feud between two different clans,” he explained. “They want able-bodied citizens to become more dependent.”

“The tacit goal of this project is to convert all of us into 25-year-olds living in the government’s basement, focusing our energies on obtaining the larger allowance, rather than getting a job and moving out and taking responsibility for ourselves.”

The attorney general stressed that historically, the U.S. has relied on religion, a decentralization of power and the freedom of the press to help prevent a slide toward tyranny.

Barr quoted founding father John Adams, who wrote, “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.”

“How does religion protect against majoritarian tyranny? In the first place, it allows us to limit the role of government by cultivating internal moral values in the people that are powerful enough to restrain individual rapacity without resort to the state’s coercive power,” Barr contended.

“Experience teaches that to be strong enough to control willful human beings, moral values must be based on authority independent of man’s will. In other words, they must flow from a transcendent Supreme Being. Men are far likelier to obey rules that come from God than to abide by the abstract outcome of an ad hoc utilitarian calculus.”

Al-Shabaab Orders All Christians to Leave Northeastern Kenya

The Somalia-based al-Qaeda-linked group al-Shabaab has “ordered” Christians to leave three counties in northeastern Kenya to allow local Muslims to get all local jobs, according to the U.S.-based persecution watchdog International Christian Concern.

“Muslim teachers, doctors, engineers, and young graduates from the northeastern province are unemployed. Isn’t it better to give them a chance? There is no need for the presence of disbelievers,” al-Shabaab’s spokesman, Sheikh Ali Dhere, said in an audio clip posted online, referring to the counties of Garissa, Wajir and Mandera.

In the 20-minute clip, the spokesman urged Somali-Kenyans to drive all non-Muslims out if they do not leave on their own.

The majority of the people living in the three counties are Somalis, who fled to Kenya due to war and violence in Somalia.

“This is not news at all because the conduct of the local people here has always suggested that they want us to leave,” the Rev. Cosmas Mwinzi of the Assemblies of God in Garissa was quoted as saying. “This region has been unstable for years due to war in Somalia and hatred against non-locals who are mostly Christians. The levels of education and infrastructure in the three counties are low and it is only through the expertise and hard work of the non-locals that the living standard of the Somali people in Kenya can improve. We have non-locals in all sectors, from health to education.”

In January, three Christian teachers were murdered in the town of Kamuthe in Garissa County during an attack on a primary school believed to have been carried out by al-Shabaab. As a result, many non-local teachers were already being transferred to other schools outside northeastern Kenya, or teachers themselves were requesting transfers.

“This release is terrible news for Christians living and working in eastern Kenya,” Nathan Johnson, ICC’s regional manager for Africa, said. “They already live with increased fear and anxiety, as many have had to travel to find work. Now with this threat, it is clear that al-Shabaab will be increasing attacks on Christians who are simply trying to provide for their families.”

Man breaks hip mowing lawn, EMTs finish his yard work: The joy of anonymous service

Harold Storelee, age eighty-eight, was cutting his grass one
morning last week when he fell. He was unable to get up.

Three boys walking by his home in Rochester, Washington,
heard his cries for help and flagged down a car to call 911.

An ambulance rushed to the scene and three emergency
responders took Storelee to a nearby hospital. He had broken a hip.

The three firefighter EMTs spent the rest of the day racing to car accidents and other calamities. At around 5 p.m., one of them asked his two co-workers if they would be up for going back to Storelee’s house to finish his lawn.

They agreed, so the trio went to the house, where they spent
an hour mowing, sweeping, and tidying up. “We knew he’d be down for a
while,” one of them said. “We figured the least we could do was go back
and help out.”

They didn’t do this for the acclaim. A neighbor saw them at work and took their picture. Storelee’s grandson posted the photo on Twitter with a statement explaining their service.

The joy of anonymous service

When we do more than we have to do without seeking credit
for our altruism, more people benefit than we might imagine.

There are the people whom we serve directly. There are the
people who inevitably find out about our service and emulate our actions and/or
our humility. For Christians, there is the eternal reward we receive for caring
for others in Jesus’ name (cf. Matthew 25:21). And there is the glory we bring
to God by emulating his Son’s servant heart (cf. Luke 19:10).

In a consumeristic culture that measures us by performance
and popularity, anonymous acts of service are not always recognized on earth,
but they are in heaven. In fact, Jesus promised that “your Father who sees
in secret will reward you” (Matthew 6:4).

Such reward, however, is not the best motive for anonymous
service.

The better motive is transformational, not transactional. It
is serving others out of gratitude for all…

Two Confirmed Coronavirus Deaths in U.S., Adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Dies Too

Two Confirmed Coronavirus Deaths in U.S., Adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Dies Too

Officials have confirmed that two people in the U.S. have died from the coronavirus, according to ABC News. An adviser to the Iranian Supreme Leader has also died.

Both of the US residents lived in Washington state’s King County and had underlying health conditions. To date, 74 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the US.

“It is a sad day in our state as we learn that a Washingtonian has died from COVID-19. Our hearts go out to their family and friends. We will continue to work toward a day where no one dies from this virus,” said Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee.

The coronavirus, which started in China, has plagued nearly 90,000 people and killed nearly 3,000. Over 90% of these cases have been centered in China; however, the virus is spreading across the globe with South Korea, Italy and Iran suffering the greatest hit.

An adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also died over the weekend. Mohammad Mirmohammadi was 71 years old, according to CNN, and the latest in several Iranian officials to die from the virus. COVID-19 began spreading in Iran last week, eventually killing 66 people by Monday. Over 1500 other cases have been confirmed, but nearly 300 people have recovered.

New York has also received word of its first confirmed case. A 39-year-old health worker who recently traveled to Iran has contracted the virus. She is isolated in her…

Daniel Whyte III Preaches and Adapts Part 3 of an Article Written for a Magazine That He Owns Called the Torch (Now Called the Torch Leader) by His Deceased Younger Brother Mark Anthony White on the Day of His Homegoing Service Perfectly Titled “The Next Level”

TEXT: Hebrews 11:6

6 For he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

TEXT: Romans 5:1-5

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

———-

My Younger Brother Mark Anthony White Has Gone to ‘the Next Level’ and was Laid to Rest on Saturday, February 29. Please Pray for His Family. Today I am continuing to preach an Article That He Wrote for One of Our Other Publications ‘The Torch’ (Now Called ‘The Torch Leader’) Some Years Ago Titled ‘The Next Level.’ Out of my immediate family, Outside of My Father Bishop Daniel White Jr., the Mark Anthony White That I Remember, Who We Called Tony, Was the Most Sincere About His Christian Faith, and He is Now in That Most Beautiful Place Called Heaven and His Days of Pain, Heartache, and Sickness Are All Gone. Please Pray for His five Children That He Left Behind, Tsciena White, Danari White, Talia White, Salomé White, and Mark White Jr.

In the first part of this message, we saw that “without faith it is impossible to please God”. We must know in our heart that our heavenly Father is all that Scripture says He is. And further, by knowing these things, we rest in the assurance that our Lord always has our best interest at heart.

In the second part of this message we looked at the trials and tribulations that God allows us to go through so that we reach maturity in our Christian life. We reach this maturity by depending on God. “God uses each tribulation to enhance our knowledge base so that when the next challenge comes along we have a genuine confidence, not based on some pretense of clairvoyance, but one solely based on our Father’s impeccable track record.”

EXPECTING GOD’S BEST

The Lord preserves us as we face painful ordeals, as we faithfully reside in Him. This preservation plants within us an earnest expectation that all shall be well for us because we and our world are in His hands. Because He said that He would be with us, because He’s never let us down, we honour Him for His faithfulness by steadily anticipating His conclusion to the matters of our lives. Romans 5:5a states that, if we persevere, our Lord will not “leave us hanging.” We will not be fools for having trusted Him. After all, He will be to us what He is: faithful and true. As a result, we learn to look for the good that God has for us in the midst of a desperate situation. We look for His good, and in His time, we obtain it.

THE PURPOSE OF THE PROCESS

Certainly, God walks (or carries) us through this process to develop us into what He created us to be for His glory. But there’s an additional purpose to all of this, and it typifies His loving heart. You see, God uses our refined selves to further impact this world with His love. Indeed, He uses our tribulation to give us a divinely-inspired compassion for others. Second Corinthians 1:4 describes God as the One “Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” Our Lord creates within us the ability to lovingly empathize with others. This type of caring is not limited to the “There, but for the grace of God, go I” school of thought. But it is based on unselfish motivations that incline us to seek to relieve others of burdens that we may very well never have.

Romans 12:15 says, “Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.”

It is true that God is steadily molding our natural selfish selves into more perfect servants. You may recall that after all Job had suffered, it was after he displayed a servant’s attitude and prayed for his fickle friends, when God greatly blessed him with more than he ever had. Despite his humanity, Job trusted God. This is the enduring trust that takes us to a higher level and closer to His likeness.

——-

My Brother Mark Anthony White and My Father Bishop Daniel White Jr. Are Now in Heaven and Would Like for Me to Tell You How to Get There.

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”

Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 18:8: “Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now that is bad news, but here’s the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9 & 13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead, and you want to trust Him for your Salvation today, please pray with me this simple prayer: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. I am sorry for my sins, and today I choose to turn from my sins. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. I trust Jesus Christ as my Savior and I choose to follow Him as Lord from this day forward. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour! For more information to help you grow in your newfound faith in Christ, go to Gospel Light Society.com and read “What To Do After You Enter Through the Door”. Jesus Christ said in John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

If you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior today, please email me at [email protected] and let us know. There is some free material that we want to send you. If you have a prayer request, please e-mail that to us as well, and we will pray for you until you tell us to stop.

God loves you. We love you. And may God bless you.

Terrorist Group Demands Christians Leave Northeastern Kenya

Terrorist Group Demands Christians Leave Northeastern Kenya

Christians in northeastern Kenya face continual persecution by Al Qaeda affiliate Al-Shabaab. The Somalian based terrorist group advised Christians to leave three counties – Garissa, Wajir and Mandera for “local Muslims to get all local jobs.”

Al-Shabaab spokesperson, Sheikh Ali Dhere shared that, “Muslim teachers, doctors, engineers, and young graduates from the northeastern province are unemployed. Isn’t it better to give them a chance? There is no need for the presence of disbelievers”, in a 20-minute audio clip posted online. Additionally, Somali-Kenyans were implored by Sheikh Ali Dhere, “to drive all non-Muslims out if they do not leave on their own.”

The Christian Post reports that the three counties are mainly comprised of people who have retreated from Somalia to Kenya due to violent conflict in Somalia. Al-Shabaab has long desired to overthrow the Somalian government and has attacked Kenya for dispatching troops against them.

Assemblies of God Rev. Cosmas Mwinz addresses the “hatred against non-locals who are mostly Christians.” However, he stresses the necessity of non-locals whose “expertise and hard work” contributes to the improvement of the low levels of education and infrastructure in the three counties. Yet the local people’s conduct shows their anti-Christian intolerance.

Additional cases of persecution include the murders of three Christian teachers…

Christians Call for Global Day of Pray to End Coronavirus

Christians Call for Global Day of Pray to End Coronavirus

A global day of prayer is being called for on Tuesday, March 3, to ask God to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

CBN News reported on March 1 that the day of prayer will bring together – via the Internet and by phone – “a coalition of Christians across denominational lines … to pray for an end to the coronavirus.”

The event, CBN reported, was initiated by Christian author Cindy Jacobs of Generals International, who said she “received word from God” calling for prayer, and a subsequent message from the Holy Spirit directing that the effort be “a global gathering.”

The report says that Jacobs told CBN, “After seeking wisdom and prophetic counsel from prophets across the nation and world, we believe strongly that since this is a worldwide issue, it’s going to take the whole Church to cry out together for the mercy and healing power of God to contain it.”

A global conference call and webcast are scheduled to begin Tuesday, March 3, at 11 a.m. Eastern Time U.S. You can connect via phone or online:

  • Call (712)-775-7430 or (712) 775-7431 and use access code 2452#.
  • To join the webcast on YouTube click here.

The effort’s inter-denominational leaders have adopted 2 Chronicles 7:14 as a verse to center on for the day:

“If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive…

Number of Babies Aborted with Cleft Lip, Palate Rose 150% in England & Wales

Abortions performed on unborn babies with a cleft lip and palate has significantly increased in England and Wales since 2011.

The United Kingdom’s Parliament released data showing the latest figures with a 150 percent increase.

The annual number of abortions increased from 10 in 2011 to 25 in 2018, however terminations are not always reported and those numbers are likely to be higher.

Eurocat tracks congenital irregularities across 23 countries and discovered that 157 unborn babies with cleft lip and palate were aborted in England and Wales from 2006 to 2010, according to Right to Life UK.

In a 2014 report, the Department of Health recorded 14 abortions during that time – then admitted that some disability terminations had been incorrectly recorded.

Eurocat National Coordinator Joan Morris, determined the number of babies aborted in 2010 with Down Syndrome doubled from 482 to 886.

Morris said, “Babies are aborted for Down’s and they still don’t put that on the abortion form, so if they can’t do it for Down’s, why would they put cleft lip?”

Women are able to have an abortion up to birth in England, Wales and Scotland if the baby has a disability. This includes Down Syndrome, cleft lip and club foot.

Mothers of children born with a cleft lip and palate are speaking out in horror over the extreme abortion measures that the government is considering in Northern Ireland that will allow babies with these conditions to be terminated up to birth.

Terri Thomas told Right To Life UK that “To read that some people in Northern Ireland may now consider a termination simply because of a cleft lip or palate is so upsetting.”

The United Nations’ Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities’ of the United Kingdom, Great Britain and Northern Ireland suggested an amendment to the abortion law on “disability” so it does not single out babies with disabilities.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission said that this element of the Abortion Act “is offensive to many people; it reinforces negative stereotypes of disability and is incompatible with valuing disability and non-disability equally”.
