Coronavirus and Your Church – ThomRainer.com

By Thom S. Rainer

At the time of this article, we really have no idea if coronavirus will become a pandemic or if we have it under control. Though I tend to be optimistic about it, there are certainly perspectives on both sides of this issue.

You who are leaders in churches, though, need to begin thinking about how your church should respond right now rather than later. By the way, I am grateful to the community of Church Answers. Many in our community are having very helpful conversations about this issue even as I write this article.

Though my suggestions are not comprehensive, I do think they provide solid guidelines to follow at this very moment.

  • Focus on prayer instead of panic. Remind your congregation that God is in control. Encourage them to pray for the cessation of the disease. Ask them to pray for the victims and their families. Encourage them to pray for the gospel to go forth boldly in the midst of this trial.
  • Develop a communication plan. For example, if someone in your church or community is stricken with coronavirus, be prepared to respond. Will you have services or not? If you do not have services, how long will this period be? How can people remain connected to your church?
  • Be prepared to offer digital worship services and Bible studies. If your church does not offer the streaming of services on the church website, Facebook live, or some other means, now is the time to move in that direction. Make certain you can have digital services even if you can’t gather for a…

Evangelical Christians in Brazil Resolve to ‘Save Souls’ and ‘Bring Jesus’ to Carnival Revelers

With drummers pounding out samba rhythms through the rain, this might almost have been just another one of the hundreds of street parties of Rio’s world-famous carnival.

But nobody at the I’m Full of Love Samba Street Party on Copacabana beach was drunk or in costume, few bystanders were dancing – and the group on the sound truck was singing about Jesus.

Evangelical Christians, a large and increasingly assertive demographic in Brazil, played a key role in the election of the far-right president, Jair Bolsonaro, whose wife Michelle is the most famous congregation member at Rio’s Attitude Baptist church, the organizers of the party.

And, where once they would leave town during carnival, they are increasingly visible during the annual celebrations, said Attitude’s pastor, Josué Valandro Jr.

“The city was delivered up to immorality, drinking sprees, crimes, bad things,” he said. “The carnival revelry lasts four days but Jesus’s happiness is eternal.”

His congregation was here to save souls – and sign up new members. “It’s evangelism. The aim is to bring Jesus to people who are enjoying carnival,” said Larissa Rocha, 23, an educational assistant who plays in the church’s drum corps.

One recent survey found around a third of Brazilians are evangelicals – up from 9% in 1991 – compared to around half who are Catholic.

Valandro called the first lady “a woman of God” for her work with deaf people and blamed leftist governments for a moral and economic decline now being reversed under Bolsonaro.

“The president is a man of strong character, with strong convictions,” he said.

Although Catholic, Bolsonaro was baptised by an evangelical preacher in the River Jordan in 2016. Many evangelicals voted for him, unconcerned by his history of homophobic remarks, racist descriptions of indigenous people and praise for Brazil’s military dictatorship.

Muslim Landowner Chains and Tortures Young Christian Man to Death in Pakistan

A young Christian man has died after a Muslim landowner on Tuesday (Feb. 25) chained and tortured him, accusing him of “polluting” his tube-well water by rinsing in it, sources said.

Saleem Masih, 22, had finished unloading chaff in fields in Baguyana village, Karsur District, some 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Lahore, and was rinsing himself off in the tube-well when property owner Sher Dogar and other men rushed over, yanked him out of the water and began beating him, according to the Christian’s father, Ghafoor Masih.

“They cursed and abused Saleem for ‘polluting’ the water, calling him a ‘filthy Christian,’” the elder Masih told Morning Star News. “They then dragged him to their cattle farm, where they chained his hands and feet and continued to torture him with sticks and rods. They also rolled a thick iron rod over his entire body, causing multiple fractures in his left arm and ribs. Saleem couldn’t bear the pain and fell unconscious.”

The father of eight, a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Church USA, said police officers informed the family at about 9 a.m., telling them to come to Dogar’s cattle farm.

“When we reached there, we found Saleem lying unconscious on the ground, his face and body bloodied due to the torture,” he said. “Dogar had apparently summoned the cops himself, and it was evident that he had also bribed them, because they tried to coerce us into ‘settling the matter’ amicably.”

Dogar and his colleagues said that Saleem had “committed a crime by dirtying” their well water, and that his punishment was “justified,” the elder Masih said.

The Masih family pleaded with the landowner to free Saleem Masih so they could take him to a hospital to keep him from dying.

“After much pleading, they allowed us to take Saleem while the police acted like spectators,” he said.

They took him to a district hospital where he received initial treatment, and then doctors told them to take him to Lahore’s General Hospital due to the severity of his internal injuries, Masih said. He succumbed to his injuries today (Feb. 28), sources said

“After seeing the police’s indifference to our ordeal, I do not have much hope that my son’s attackers will be brought to justice,” the deceased’s father said.

Meet the Real People Who Inspired the Northuldra in “Frozen 2” and Learn About Their Bible Translation Needs

When you hear the word “frozen,” what’s the first thing that comes to mind? For me, it isn’t temperature. I think of two royal sisters, a talking snowman and reindeer. Lots and lots of reindeer. (Some say they’re even better than people.)

But now when I hear “frozen,” I also think of the Sámi people.

The Northuldra, a fictional indigenous group depicted in Disney’s “Frozen 2”, are actually based on the real-life Sámi. (Which is not short for Samantha, much to a talking snowman’s chagrin.)

There are over 75,000 Sámi (or Saami) people scattered across parts of Russia, Sweden, Finland and, of course, Norway. Located in northern Europe, Norway is surrounded by water and is covered with mountains, glaciers and fjords. The breathtaking scenery and unique terrain form the backdrop to the Sámi’s way of life, a culture that dates back thousands of years.

Some things never change for the Sámi people, including their traditional livelihoods of fishing, selling handmade crafts and hunting. Reindeer herding remains one of the most important aspects of the Sámi’s culture; it provides transportation and materials for clothing, traditional crafts and food.

Of the approximately 7,300 languages in use around the world today, there are 10 languages that are unique to the Sámi. They share similarities, but each language has its own writing system. For example, if you want to call for your favorite reindeer in Northern Sámi, you would say, “boazu!” But if you found yourself in a region that spoke Inari Sámi, then “puásui” would be the correct choice. Thanks to organizations like the Norwegian, Finnish and Swedish Bible societies working together, Bible translation work is well underway for some Sámi languages.

Almost 75% of Sámi speak Northern Sámi, which makes it the largest language group in this population. Northern Sámi has a complete Bible in their language, and a new version was published in 2019. Lule Sámi has a complete New Testament. Inari Sámi and Skolt Sámi both have portions of the New Testament. Other Sámi languages are in various stages of Scripture translation, and some like South Sámi and Kildin Sámi don’t have any Scripture.

Coronavirus Outbreak in Italy Challenges Lenten Celebrations

VATICAN CITY (RNS) — As parts of northern Italy are under curfew and quarantined amid growing coronavirus concerns, Catholic priests in the region look for new and creative ways to administer Mass in the days leading up to Lent.

Catholic dioceses from the Italian cities of Milan and Venice have asked their priests not to say Mass and congregate large crowds, as the country became home to the largest coronavirus outbreak in Europe with over 400 people infected and 11 dead.

The Italian bishops have complied with the Italian state by requiring some diocese not to perform the sign of peace and to avoid the use of the holy water font in order to prevent contagion.

Fears of the virus have led priests to consider alternative ways to say Mass, through streaming and personal visits, and to ensure faithful had the opportunity to receive ashes on Wednesday (Feb. 26), an essential element of the celebrations preceding the roughly 40 days of Lent before Easter.

Don Alessio Albertini, from the Diocese of Milan, found himself tasked with convincing the elderly crowd of his usual Sunday Mass that instead of shaking hands and kissing cheeks for the sign of peace they should offer each other a big smile.

“For Christians this is an opportunity for us, who have the chance to go to Mass freely and without fear of terrorists or prohibitions, to reflect on how this is not possible and why we need the Eucharist,” Albertini told Religion News Service in an interview Thursday.

“Now that I cannot go as I always have, then the Mass is no longer just a Sunday habit but something that is fundamental,” he added. “I think this is a strong reflection for Christians this Sunday who for the first time will not be able to live out the Eucharist the way they are used to.”

In the Ambrosian rite of Milan, ashes are administered on Sunday instead of on Ash Wednesday, and Archbishop Mario Delpini will be streaming the Mass online.

Albertini said he has been caught in the race to the supermarkets that has left aisles empty of food and supplies in Milan. He encouraged people not to give in to fear and hysteria and to remember the importance of being together.

International Mission Board Forms Coronavirus Task Force as Global Threat Rises

RICHMOND, Va. (BP) — As the global coronavirus crisis nears pandemic status, the International Mission Board announced Friday (Feb. 28) a coronavirus task force to address implications for IMB personnel and partners, including church volunteer mission teams.

“We recognize the concern that coronavirus is causing, and we are grateful for individuals and churches who are praying for IMB personnel and for people around the world directly affected by the virus,” IMB President Paul Chitwood said in a press release. “We are continually monitoring the global situation and remain in frequent contact with our missionaries to take the best precautions possible related to their health and safety.”

Updates and recommendations are available to IMB personnel, partners and mission teams at the newly launched website imb.org/COVID-19.

The virus has killed at least 2,858 people and sickened more than 83,000 globally, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported in a Friday press briefing.

Coronavirus has met two of the three criteria for pandemic status, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said Thursday, and WHO issued Friday a global “very high” alert for coronavirus transmission, raising the alert from “high.”

“The task force recommends that personnel and church partners monitor the CDC guidelines and follow the latest recommendations regarding travel and virus prevention,” IMB said in its press release. “IMB suggests churches frequently monitor travel advisories in order to make wise and prayerful decisions about mission trips planned in the near future.”

The new website also offers a portal to financially support ministry efforts in specific areas impacted by the virus.

“Local partners and personnel urgently need supplies to continue responding to those affected,” IMB said on the site. “Your gift will supply critically needed face mask packs, hand sanitizer, medical supplies, and other resources that will be distributed to individuals and families across the country.”

Southern Baptists ministering in certain high risk areas have reported a rising receptivity to the Gospel, Chitwood said Thursday during a luncheon address at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

“The reality of death sets in on us in a way that is so undeniable,” SWBTS quoted Chitwood. “So we’re praying for a great movement of the Holy Spirit; for more and more people to be saved.”

As the rate of new cases slows in China, at least five countries reported their first cases Thursday, and the U.S. documented its first case in a person who hasn’t travelled abroad, according to WHO and widespread media reports. The virus has variously affected international economic and social sectors, including Gospel outreaches and discipleship efforts.

IMB has repositioned some missionaries to areas where interaction and ministry are more feasible, SWBTS reported, as other missionaries have elected to remain in high risk locations.

Willow Creek Community Church, a non-Southern Baptist congregation based in Chicago, ended an evangelistic outreach in Karlsruhe, Germany, because of coronavirus concerns, the church tweeted Friday.

“This was done for security reasons,” the church tweeted. “According to health authorities, there was never any danger to the participants.”

Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee President Ronnie Floyd, along with Peter Yanes, SBC EC executive director of Asian American relations and mobilization, have urged prayer for a global community increasingly affected by the virus.

PODCAST: Grief and Mourning, Part 12: No Road Map (Preparing for the Inevitable #60 with Daniel Whyte III)

Welcome to Episode #60 of Preparing for the Inevitable – A Podcast on How to Handle Trouble, Suffering, Pain, and Death.

I am your host, Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International. This podcast will help you get ready to face the inevitable unpleasant things that will happen in your life — things like trouble, suffering, sickness, and death — the death of people you love and your own death. Trouble, suffering, and death are common threads that run throughout all of humanity. They are inescapable. You will never meet a person who has not, is not, or will not experience these terrible things in life. Yet, we attempt to hide from these inevitabilities, to pretend they don’t exist or that they won’t happen to us. Our world is filled with news of people dying, children suffering, entire government systems and organizations enduring trouble and turmoil, but we tend to see these as things that only happen to “other people” and never to us. Trouble, suffering, and death come equally to all people, of all races, from every socio-economic status, of every religion, in every country of the world. It makes us all equal. This podcast will show you how to accept these realities of life, and not just cope, but face trouble, suffering, and death in your own life and in the world with confidence, courage, class, and most of all, with faith, hope, and charity.

The Bible says in Lamentations 3:31-33: “For the Lord will not cast off for ever: But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.”

The featured quote for this episode is from Earl Grollman. He said, “Grief is not a disorder, a disease or a sign of weakness. It is an emotional, physical and spiritual necessity, the price you pay for love. The only cure for grief is to grieve.”

Our topic for today is titled “Grief and Mourning, Part 12: No Road Map” from the book, “The Art of Dying: Living Fully into the Life to Come” by Rob Moll.

Though her death was horrible, tumors grew all over her upper body inside and outside her skin, Carol died well. “My wife was amazing during this,” Bugh says, “because she never complained, and she was always very positive. Now was she scared? Was she worried? Yeah, but she had a firm conviction in the sovereignty of God. She was a deeply spiritual woman. We didn’t like it, but we were willing to accept this as God’s assignment for our life. Carol never lasted in self-pity.”

Not only did Carol bravely face her trial, but she thought of what she wanted to say to her family, before her death. She had prepared letters to be given after her death to every member of her family. In the chaos of hospital visits and treatments, Carol found time to write down her last words to those she loved. “She wrote me an amazing letter,” Rob says. “She was profound. She said three things. She said, ‘You have no regrets in our marriage. You’ve been a great husband. You’ve been faithful.’ The second thing she said was, ‘You will make it.’ And the third thing was, ‘I want you to remarry.’ ”

Carol’s striking foresight recalls the Christian tradition of last words. And Carol’s words were so insightful, Bugh said, that she gave him the room necessary to launch the family into a new life without her. This also gave Bugh the opportunity to grieve. He had no regrets, no concerns plaguing him beyond the devastating loss of his wife.

As pastor of one of the largest churches in the area, Bugh also had the responsibility of grieving publicly. The advantage was that his family had an enormous amount of support. “The community rallied,” Bugh says. “The downside is there are moments where you just want to run into a cave and hide and just sob. Just sob.”

“If I stand up and just talk about God’s sovereignty, there are going to be people in the pews that think, Oh man, he feels so good, and I feel so crummy. What’s the matter with me?” Instead, Bugh told his congregation, “This is terrible, and I’ve had moments where I have just felt utter despair. But yet I do believe God is sovereign, and I have this contentment.”

Bugh still misses his wife terribly. “We had an extraordinary marriage,” he says, “And it’s gone. This woman that I did life with is gone. But yet I’m okay. That’s God’s grace.”

The loss was “more brutal than I could have imagined. Yet God’s grace is much richer, much deeper, much more profound, much more real than I would have ever thought.”

If the Lord tarries His Coming and we live, we will begin looking at “A Culture of Resurrection” in our next podcast.

Let’s Pray —

Dear friend, please understand that after you die, you will be ushered into one of two places to spend eternity, Heaven or Hell. Here’s how you can be sure that you will not go to hell and suffer eternal damnation forever and rather have a home in Heaven when you die. The Bible says, ”Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” Here’s how you can be saved from sin and hell and have a home in Heaven when you die in more detail.

1. Accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:20: “For there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good, and sinneth not.” Romans 3:23 reads: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” In fact, I am the chief of sinners, so don’t think that you’re alone.

2. Accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”

3. Accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” The Bible says in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

4. Accept the fact that you cannot do anything to save yourself! The Bible states in Ephesians 2: 8, 9: “For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

5. Accept the fact that God loves you more than you love yourself, and that He wants to save you from hell. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

6. With these facts in mind, please repent of your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and pray and ask Him to come into your heart and save you this very moment. The Bible states in the book of Romans 10:9, 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour! For more information to help you grow in your newfound faith in Christ, go to Gospel Light Society.com and read “What To Do After You Enter Through the Door”. Jesus Christ said in John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

Daniel Whyte III Preaches and Adapts Part 2 of an Article Written for a Magazine That He Owns Called the Torch (Now Called the Torch Leader) by His Deceased Younger Brother Mark Anthony White on the Day of His Homegoing Service Perfectly Titled “The Next Level”

TEXT: Hebrews 11:6

6 For he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

TEXT: Romans 5:1-5

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

———-

My Younger Brother Mark Anthony White Has Gone to ‘the Next Level’ and was Laid to Rest yesterday, Saturday, February 29. Please Pray for His Family. Today I am continuing to preach an Article That He Wrote for One of Our Other Publications ‘The Torch’ (Now Called ‘The Torch Leader’) Some Years Ago Titled ‘The Next Level.’ Out of my immediate family, Outside of My Father Bishop Daniel White Jr., the Mark Anthony White That I Remember, Who We Called Tony, Was the Most Sincere About His Christian Faith, and He is Now in That Most Beautiful Place Called Heaven and His Days of Pain, Heartache, and Sickness Are All Gone. Please Pray for His five Children That He Left Behind, Tsciena White, Danari White, Talia White, Salomé White, and Mark White Jr.

In the first part of this message, we saw that “without faith it is impossible to please God”. We must know in our heart that our heavenly Father is all that Scripture says He is. And further, by knowing these things, we rest in the assurance that our Lord always has our best interest at heart.

But what about those seemingly “crazy” detours that we’re forced to take? You know, those times when we are confident that we’re heading in the right direction when, out of the blue, something happens to hinder our stride. It is these times when we hold fast to that which we don’t see and wait for that which has yet to be manifested.

A look back at Hebrews 11:1 makes it clear to us that, among other things, possessing faith is essential for us to be able to walk honorably with the true, invisible God who has made us His own. This well-known verse asserts that our conviction consists of our confidence in the Lord, and that this same assurance is the proof of what we know to be true, all-be-it unseen.

But how can this be? How can we reach a point where we cease to have doubt about our ultimate well-being in any circumstance?

Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

A good starting place would be to accept from God’s Word that, by His Spirit, He has given us faith with which to believe in Him.

Romans 12:3 says, “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

I Corinthians 12:7 says, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.”

Once we have accepted this truth, we’ll need to submit ourselves to God’s “maturity plan” for believers which consists of inconvenient and oftentimes, painful trials. The reason for this method has nothing to do with sadism, but a lot to do with the fact that our Lord, sadly, doesn’t get our undivided attention until our personal agendas are interrupted. This can sometimes mean grave disappointment which, in turn, can mean emotional hurt. But what we, as believers, can hold fast to is that all people undergo some type of hardship in their lives, but we have the benefit of these experiences resulting in wonderful blessings at key points in our lives.

So, there is a point to this after all. God communicates the stages of His process in His Word:

Romans 5:1-5 says“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us”.

These truths clearly steer believers from accepting the humanistic notion that events that occur in our lives are often happenstance. Indeed, occurrences in the Christian’s life, even some of those which strike us as insignificant, have meaning. These occurrences serve as both minor and major contributions to our respective developments as productive servants of the most High.

THE GAIN OF PAIN

Verse 3 of the above text alludes to the tribulations or trials that inevitably enter our lives from time to time. They appear for a myriad of reasons such as: (1) tests of our faith, (2) adversarial attacks, and (3) sin. Nevertheless, our God is able to turn these adverse situations into great advantage for His children, if we trust Him. Such trials often bring with them difficulty and heartache, In fact, the Lord consistently impacts our sensitivities just enough to make us stop and, if we are wise, become introspective and examine ourselves for such things as priority (i.e., Who’s really number one in our lives?); purity (i.e., Are we ignoring some habitual sin in our lives?); purpose (i.e., Are we carrying out the duties that the Holy Spirit has convicted us to?).

WAITING ON THE LORD

Tribulation triggers the exercising of our patience. A new trial not only requires the endurance capacity that we presently possess but also that which only God, and not we, know that we have. This waiting can be the hardest part, and sometimes spiritually dangerous, as we tend to steer toward carnal comforts (eg.: unhealthy relationships, compulsive self-abuse, withdrawal from fellowship). Again, there is a fruitful purpose to this. James 1:3-4 states that “the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect (complete) and entire, wanting nothing.” We see here that the trials that God allows to impact our lives, force us to begin to rely on that which is not temporary and that which we cannot lose—the Lord Himself. We become complete by attaching the placentas of our souls directly to Him by feeding on His Word and by consistently praying. Our Lord wants us to tap into a direct feed as oppose to relying on indirect and occasional transmissions of His nourishment. It is good for us to remember that God’s schedule, no doubt, is very different from our own timetable. He contemplates the entire season, while we’re entranced with but a moment of a day.

Psalm 27:13 says “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”.

Romans 5:4a informs us of the result of patience. And it is that time which we can look back in our lives and be reminded of God’s faithful deliverances. It is the proof of the fact that, in Christ, we are overcomers; indeed, solid proof, as we are the ones who have been made victorious. In order for us to obtain this knowledge of both crutches, He disallows our spouses or other close friends from meeting our needs, no matter how well-intentioned they may be. Our favorite pastimes and hobbies often lack appeal during these times. Career goals strike us as meaningless. At the cost of our discomfort, our loving God is greatly blessing us to see what we should always see—at all times, sunshine or rain. He’s all we have. With each trial we see more and more clearly that our Lord can always be trusted.

God uses each tribulation to enhance our knowledge base so that when the next challenge comes along we have a genuine confidence, not based on some pretense of clairvoyance, but one solely based on our Father’s impeccable track record. In a nutshell, we take the sentiment expressed in a very popular spiritual, I Don’t Feel Noways Tired:
I don’t believe, He brought me this far to leave me

——-

My Brother Mark Anthony White and My Father Bishop Daniel White Jr. Are Now in Heaven and Would Like for Me to Tell You How to Get There.

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”

Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 18:8: “Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now that is bad news, but here’s the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9 & 13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead, and you want to trust Him for your Salvation today, please pray with me this simple prayer: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. I am sorry for my sins, and today I choose to turn from my sins. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. I trust Jesus Christ as my Savior and I choose to follow Him as Lord from this day forward.

If you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior today, please email me at [email protected] and let us know. There is some free material that we want to send you. If you have a prayer request, please e-mail that to us as well, and we will pray for you until you tell us to stop.

God loves you. We love you. And may God bless you.

Christians Call For Global Day of Prayer to End Coronavirus

A coalition of Christians across denominational lines are uniting to pray for an end to the coronavirus.

Cindy Jacobs of Generals International says she received word from God to call for a global day of prayer – ceasing the spread of the coronavirus. Jacobs adds The Holy Spirit spoke again to her, granting the authority, but only as a global gathering.

“After seeking wisdom and prophetic counsel from prophets across the nation and world, we believe strongly that since this is a worldwide issue, it’s going to take the whole Church to cry out together for the mercy and healing power of God to contain it.”

Plans are now under way for leaders to stand united on March 3rd and petition the Sovereign Lord for His mercy.

The passage in 2 Chronicle 7:14 reveals that if God’s people pray, seek His face, and turn from wicked ways then He will heal our lands.

“If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Leaders are asking for the nationwide gathering to be this Tuesday. It will consist of fasting and prayer in order to stop the spread of the virus and heal the people affected by it.

What should we do during this time of prayer?

1. Pray Psalm 91 over your families and nations. “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”

2. Pray against fear, knowing that God has not given us a spirit of fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

3. Pray for wisdom for our leaders and protection for the emergency responders while protecting their people and preventing the spread of the virus.

4. Pray for Christians to have courage and share the Word effectively through this time of crisis.

5. Prophetic voices around the world have predicted the coming of the next great awakening on a worldwide scale. Pray that the forces of evil don’t use this to disrupt the coming awakenings.

John 10:10 tells us, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”

6. Pray that God will cease the coronavirus worldwide, and that He will heal everyone who is currently affected by it.

7. Devote yourselves, your families, and your nation to God through the taking of communion and remember Passover.

1 Corinthians 10: 14-17 explains, “Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to wise men; you judge what I say. Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ? Since there is one bread, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one bread.”

WATCH: Churchgoers Turn Their Backs on Michael Bloomberg as He Gives Speech at Black Church in Selma, Alabama

Joe Biden, fresh off a victory in South Carolina propelled by black voters, on Sunday commemorated a landmark civil rights march in Alabama, where some worshippers at an African-American church turned their backs on his rival Michael Bloomberg.

Biden and the others competing for the Democratic nomination to challenge Republican President Donald Trump in November hit the campaign trail before Super Tuesday nominating contests in 14 states including Alabama. Biden, whose win in Saturday’s South Carolina primary galvanized his campaign, and the current front-runner, Bernie Sanders, traded jabs on Sunday news shows.

Bloomberg, a former New York mayor, received a chilly reception at the historic Brown Chapel AME Church in Selma after pastor Reverend Leodis Strong told the gathering the billionaire businessman initially had turned down the invitation to speak.

“I was hurt, I was disappointed,” Strong said as Bloomberg looked on stonily. “I think it’s important that he came, and it shows a willingness on his part to change.”

About 10 people stood up and turned their backs on Bloomberg as he spoke about racial inequality. Black voters are a key constituency of the Democratic Party.

“I think it’s just an insult for him to come here. It’s the disrespect for the legacy of this place,” Lisa Brown, who traveled to Selma from Los Angeles, told Reuters later. She said the idea to protest Bloomberg’s remarks had circulated but she stood as an individual, not an organized group.

The quiet protest suggests Bloomberg may have an uphill climb with some African-American voters, who have supported Biden in large numbers and carried him to a resounding victory in South Carolina.

Biden and Bloomberg are trying to present themselves as the party’s best choice to take on Trump, arguing that Sanders is too far to the left to win the general election.

At church in Selma, the vice president to the country’s first African American president, Barack Obama, was clearly the favorite. Biden was seated in a place of honor with the pastor, facing the pews where Bloomberg sat, and got a glowing introduction from U.S. Representative Terri Sewell, a black Alabama lawmaker who supports him.

“Most importantly, he has earned the right to be in this pulpit and to address you now,” Sewell said.

Democratic contenders Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar sat on folding chairs at the margins of the church audience. The pastor yelled at Tom Steyer, who dropped out of the race after finishing third in South Carolina, to sit down. “This is a house of God, this is not a political rally,” he chided.

The candidates were in Selma to mark the 55th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday,” when civil rights marchers were beaten by state troopers and local police while crossing a bridge in Selma.

Bloomberg skipped the first four state nominating contests including South Carolina but has blanketed the nation with about $500 million in advertising and will be on the ballot for the first time on Tuesday, when the biggest prizes are California and Texas.

He has made a concerted effort to reach out to black voters, including apologies for overseeing an increase in the use of a police practice called “stop and frisk” in New York City that disproportionately affected black and other racial minority residents. A federal judge found the practice was an unconstitutional form of racial profiling.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll of registered Democrats and independents, conducted Feb. 19-25, showed Bloomberg garnering the support of 20% of black voters, third among the Democratic candidates behind Sanders (26%) and Biden (23%).

At least five Super Tuesday states – Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas and Virginia – have big blocs of African-American voters.

Biden won overwhelmingly in South Carolina, drawing 48% of the votes cast compared to 20% for Sanders. Edison Research exit polls showed Biden with 61% of African-American support there to Sanders’ 17%.

The victory led the former vice president to assert himself as a viable moderate alternative to Sanders, an independent U.S. senator from Vermont and self-described democratic socialist.

Sanders’ calls for a political revolution have rattled a Democratic Party establishment worried he is too far to the left to beat Trump.

“I think the Democratic Party is looking for a Democrat – not a socialist, not a former Republican, a Democrat – to be their nominee,” Biden told “Fox News Sunday.”

Biden’s reference to a former Republican appears to have been aimed at Bloomberg, who switched parties.

Sanders attacked Biden for taking contributions from political organizations called Super PACs and billionaires, courting wealthy donors at what he said was the expense of working-class, middle-class and low-income people.

“I don’t go to rich people’s homes like Joe Biden,” Sanders said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

Biden lags Sanders in fundraising and organization in Super Tuesday states and beyond.

Sanders planned to campaign on Sunday in heavily Democratic California, where he leads opinion polls.

The Sanders campaign announced overnight it had raised $46.5 million from more than 2.2 million donations in February, a huge sum dwarfing what any other Democratic candidate had raised last year in any three-month period.

Biden reported his February haul was $18 million. Warren’s campaign said she raised more than $29 million last month.

Bloomberg, meanwhile, continues to spend. He purchased three minutes of commercial air time during on broadcast networks CBS and NBC on Sunday evening to address the coronavirus outbreak.
