For the first time in Super Bowl history, Adams and the Chorus’ performance was made available for download shortly after it aired on TV in the NFL’s new visual album, Super Bowl LIV Live. Demi Lovato’s rendition of the national anthem and Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s halftime show performances at the game will also be available on the album.

Adams and the Children’s Chorus join the ranks of Chloe x Halle, Leslie Odom Jr., Renée Elise Goldsberry, Phillipa Soo, Jasmine Cephas Jones and Alicia Keys, who have all sung “America the Beautiful” before at previous Super Bowls.

WATCH: Emotional Oprah Winfrey Defends Gayle King, Says Best Friend Is “Not Doing Well” After Getting Death Threats Over her Interview About Kobe Bryant with WNBA Star Lisa Leslie

Oprah Winfrey got teary-eyed Friday, saying her best friend Gayle King is “not well” and getting death threats after a CBS promo clip focused solely on questions she asked WNBA star Lisa Leslie about Kobe Bryant’s rape case.

“She is not doing well. May I say? She is not,” Winfrey told NBC’s “Today with Hoda & Jenna” Friday morning, her voice cracking with emotion.

“She is Not. Doing. Well. Because she has now death threats and has to now travel with security. And she’s feeling very much attacked. You know, Bill Cosby is texting, is tweeting from jail.”

.@Oprah emotionally responds to backlash her friend Gayle King received over King’s recent interview about Kobe Bryant with WNBA legend Lisa Leslie: “She is not doing well because she has now death threats.” pic.twitter.com/M8HrCp8vTr

— TODAY with Hoda & Jenna (@HodaAndJenna) February 7, 2020

Winfrey said her friend feels it was wrong of CBS News to promote the clip in a way that isolated it from an otherwise positive and lengthy chat with WNBA star Lisa Leslie about Bryant’s legacy.

King also believes she was put in a “really terrible position” because the promo clip was circulated after the interview aired, Winfrey said.

“In the context of the interview, everyone seemed fine, including Lisa Leslie. And it was only because somebody at the network put up that clip,” Winfrey said.

King expressed her own fury over the “salacious” clip in a self-recorded video shared on Instagram Thursday morning, 11 days after Bryant died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, Calif., along with his 13-year-old daughter and seven others.

“I am mortified. I am embarrassed and I am very angry,” she said. “Unbeknownst to me, my network put up a clip from a very wide-ranging interview, um, totally taken out of context. And when you see it that way, it’s very jarring. It’s jarring to me.”

She said the interview with Leslie mostly focused on Bryant’s career, his passion, his sense of humor and his mentoring of other people.

“Yes, we talked about that court case, because that court case has also come up. And I wanted to get Lisa’s take on it as a friend who knew him well. What she thought, where that should stand,” she said.

“It was very powerful when she looked me in the eye as a member of the media to say it’s time for the media to leave it alone and to back off,” King said.

CBS News said it was taking action Thursday to address King’s concerns.

“Gayle conducted a thoughtful, wide-ranging interview with Lisa Leslie about the legacy of Kobe Bryant. An excerpt was posted that did not reflect the nature and tone of the full interview. We are addressing the internal process that led to this and changes have already been made,” the statement said.

Mormons Remove Missionaries from Hong Kong and Macau Over Coronavirus Concerns

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that they’re removing their missionaries from Hong Kong and Macau due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak.

A flu-like illness, the coronavirus was first detected in China and as of Thursday evening has killed over 600 people and infected more than 31,000, the vast majority in mainland China, according to CBS News.

The largest Mormon denomination in the United States announced earlier this week that it was removing all 125 missionaries from the two Chinese cities, doing so after Hong Kong announced its first confirmed coronavirus-related death.

The LDS Church’s Missionary Department has temporarily reassigned 113 of the missionaries to other missions and released from service the other 12, according to Deseret News.

In a statement, the LDS Church explained that the missionaries had taken precautions even before leaving the cities, such as limiting their time outdoors.

“Therefore, the likelihood of any of these missionaries having contracted the coronavirus is very low,” the LDS Church added, according to Deseret News. “Additionally, each missionary is required to show no symptoms before leaving Hong Kong.”

The LDS Church does not have any missionaries working in mainland China, according to a statement released last month when the coronavirus first started getting headlines.

Hailey Bieber Says ‘Bond of Faith and Spirituality’ is ‘Everything’ in Relationship With Justin Bieber

Supermodel Hailey Baldwin, known now as Hailey Bieber is gracing the cover of Elle’s 2020 March issue and in the issue she openly discussed her Christian faith and its influence in her marriage to pop star Justin Bieber.

Hailey and Justin first met as children after Hailey’s father, Stephen Baldwin, introduced the two. They tried dating when the model was 19, but their lives were “going in very different directions,” she told Elle. The stars would later reconnect while attending a church conference.

“We ended up being at this church conference together in Miami, and it was the first time we’d seen each other in a while. I remember we were hanging out and I was like, ‘Listen, I’m really, really happy for us to be friends again. I want us to always be cool and be friends.’ He was like, ‘Yeah, here’s the thing: We’re not going to be friends.’ And I was like, ‘Oh. Is that so?’ ” she explained.

Justin and Hailey had changed since the last time they dated and she credited their mutual belief in God as to what solidified their reunion and eventual fate as husband and wife.

“Being able to share that with each other—to have that bond of faith and spirituality—is so [critical] for us. It’s the most important part of our relationship, following Jesus together, being a part of the church community together. It’s everything,” Hailey said.

In the interview, the 23-year-old said she grew up attending a nondenominational church near Nyack but wasn’t really interested in her parents’ faith until she moved to New York.

“As I got older, it got harder to follow church and the Bible because it felt very adult. I don’t want to sound wrong, but it was boring. I didn’t care about it anymore, until I found a church I felt was geared toward young people,” she explained.  “And for me, that was the Hillsong Church in New York City.”

Cory Asbury on How God’s Reckless Love Helped My Wife Overcome Postpartum Depression

After both pregnancies with our first two children, my wife, Anna, dealt with severe postpartum depression. With Gabriel, our firstborn, it lasted about nine months. With Lily, our second, almost a year passed before she started to feel like herself again. There were many mornings when it felt as if we’d never find our way to the other side. Anna often woke up with what I can only describe as a cloud of blackness over her mind.

Usually, instead of settling into the hopelessness, she chose to sing, pray or call a friend. I always knew my wife was a fighter, but these moments of unwavering devotion to God and her family convinced me I’d married a warrior. She would often ask me to tell her things that didn’t make sense to me at the moment, such as “You’re not alone” and “You won’t always feel like this.” While I always thought it was silly that she wanted to hear things she already knew, I told her anyway. Any glimmer of hope in the dark hole she felt lost in was welcome, no matter how it came. If there were ever a time in our lives we dealt with the lie of abandonment, it was then.

Our daughter Lily went through some major life-threatening health issues. Unfortunately, these two circumstances coincided. We were in what felt like the perfect storm from hell, with Anna battling debilitating postpartum depression and our daughter fighting for her life.

Right around this time, Sarah and John Mark McMillan released their song, “King of My Heart.” The truths in the lyrics were anchors for our hearts. The declarations, “You are good!” and “You’re never going to let me down!” gave us the language of faith we needed to declare a greater reality than the one we were living.

Anna sang and prophesied this song until she believed with resilient conviction that God had not left her on her own. Even when we weren’t entirely convinced that the words were true, we sang, and the more we sang, the louder we heard His love roaring above the lies.

In Deuteronomy 31:6 the Father made the everlasting promise that He will never leave us or forsake us. What the Father promises in this Scripture is His undivided, uncompromising devotion to us. His heart will ever be leaning in toward us. He will never give up on us, never turn His back on us and never leave us. Even in the midst of great trials, when we felt as if God were a million miles away, He was still good, and His plans for us were full of hope, life and deep joy.

Iranian Christians Dabrina Bet Tamraz Recalls How Islamic Republic Shut Down Her Family’s Church and Imprisoned Her Parents and Brother

Persecuted Iranian Christian Dabrina Bet Tamraz vividly remembers the day that her family’s church was shut down.

The day was Monday, March 30, 2009, when her family home received a phone call from the government demanding that her father, Victor Bet Tamraz — the pastor of an Assyrian Pentecostal congregation in Tehran — meet at his church.

The family arrived at the church and were greeted by lots of cars and big men. The pastor was given the choice by a government official to either “give up the keys” to the church or ensure that the church only allows Assyrian speaking members.

Speaking at a Family Research Council panel discussion on religious freedom in Iran Wednesday afternoon, Tamraz explained that the family and church members asked to be given a few hours to pray about what their decision will be.

After a couple of hours, Tamraz said her father walked out of the church and handed the keys to an official from the intelligence service.

“[My father] said, ‘Thank you very much. You have done us a great favor. We don’t know how to thank you. Please close down the church,’” Tamraz recalled. “He looks at my dad and said, ‘Are you crazy? Why are you saying thank you?’”

Tamraz said that during the prayer time in the church, the congregation heard from God that if they allow the authorities to close down the church, He will “open the gates of Heaven.”

“My father said, ‘Thank you, because I can’t wait for God to open the gates of Heaven for people to shout Hallelujah on the streets,’” Tamraz said.

Today, Tamraz’s father, mother, and brother are among dozens of Christians facing jail time, abuse and torture in the Islamic Republic of Iran simply because of their faith in Jesus Christ.

Tamraz’s father is in the process of appealing a 10-year prison sentence he received in 2017. He was arrested in 2014 during a Christmas gathering and was held for 65 days in solitary confinement. Tamraz’s father was accused of acting against national security by conducting house church meetings and evangelizing.
