‘Hundreds’ of Young Transgender Adults Are Seeking to ‘Detransition,’ Advocacy Network Founder Says

‘Hundreds’ of Young Transgender Adults Are Seeking to ‘Detransition,’ Advocacy Network Founder Says

A woman is launching a charity that will help hundreds of young transgender people return to their original sex.

According to Sky News, Charlie Evans, who was born female, but transitioned to male, transitioned back to female.

“I’m in communication with 19 and 20-year-olds who have had full gender reassignment surgery who wish they hadn’t, and their dysphoria hasn’t been relieved, they don’t feel better for it,” she says.

“They don’t know what their options are now.”

She said “hundreds” of people have contacted her for help.

“I think some of the common characteristics are that they tend to be around their mid-20s, they’re mostly female and mostly same-sex attracted, and often autistic as well,” she said.

Charlie says that a young woman who had transitioned to a man and then back to female asked Charlie for help and that led to the idea of her charity, The Detransition Advocacy Network.

“She said she felt shunned by the LGBT community for being a traitor. So I felt I had to do something.”

A detransitioned woman, “Ruby,” told Sky News that she began identifying as a male when she was 13. She took testosterone to deepen her voice and grow facial hair. She was even planning surgery to remove her breasts.

However, in May, Ruby decided to detransition to female.

“I didn’t think any change was going to be enough in…

Second Trump Whistleblower Allegedly Speaks to Inspector General

Second Trump Whistleblower Allegedly Speaks to Inspector General

As the effort to impeach President Trump ramps up, a second whistleblower has reportedly spoken to the inspector general and retained legal counsel.

The secondary individual is being represented by Mark Zaid, the same attorney who is acting on behalf of the original whistleblower who triggered a presidential impeachment inquiry after revealing questionable details of a conversation between President Trump and the leader of Ukraine.

Experts have warned that a second, corroborating whistleblower could be devastating for the President, as it may debunk his claims that the whole thing has been made up. Trump is accused of using his position to enact a “quid pro quo” with the Ukrainian leader after requesting he help investigate his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, over Ukrainian business deals made by his son, Hunter.

Despite a redacted version of the phone call transcript being released by the White House, the original whistleblower insisted that senior government officials had attempted to bury the records on Trump’s orders. “This set of actions underscored to me that White House officials understood the gravity of what had transpired in the call,” the first whistleblower said in their statement, according to ABC News.

“There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son,” Trump told Zelenskiy at one point during the call. “A lot of people want to find out about that so whatever…

Christians urged to pray for political solutions in Syria as US withdraw troops

On Monday night President Donald Trump announced his decision to abandon Syrian Kurdish fighters ahead of an expected Turkish incursion into the region.

The president declared that US troops will step aside for an expected attack on the Syrian Kurds, long-time US allies against the Islamic State group.

Rev Andrew Ashdown, who has done extensive research on Christian and Muslim relations in the country said: “there are very big questions about what will happen to the thousands of ISIS fighters.”

“I think that we really should be seeking a political solution,” he said.

“There are multiple political reasons why multiple players were involved. There are great threats from Turkey and great threats from other areas.”

“Remember that there are many Christian communities in northeast Syria that have been suffering. Actually, there have been reports of oppression from Kurdish groups of local Christians on the ground as well. So it’s highly complex, multi layered. We need to be paying for a political solution where all parties can actually talk and come to pragmatic solutions.”

Fears over a revived so-called Islamic State – also referred to as Daesh – have been aired by a former defence minister.

Conservative Tobias Ellwood raised concerns over the US’s decision to remove troops from north-eastern Syria and warned it will leave the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) “exposed” to…

5-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Celebrates His Birthday by Delivering Thousands of Toys to Children’s Hospital

5-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Celebrates His Birthday by Delivering Thousands of Toys to Children’s Hospital

5-year-old Weston Newsanger had a lot to celebrate last month, he was turning 5-years-old and also celebrating two years of being cancer-free. When his mom asked him what he wanted for his birthday, however, he decided not to ask for anything for himself, instead, he asked his mom to get toys for the kids at a local children’s hospital.

“I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and his response was, ‘I don’t need anything. I want playdough and dinosaurs to give to the children at the hospital,’ his mom, Amy Newsanger, posted on Facebook on Aug. 16, adding, “Weston has such a big heart and I want to make this a moment he won’t forget.”

The hospital was Penn State Children’s Hospital in Hershey, where he was treated for a soft tissue cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma, beginning in 2016.

In that initial post, Newsanger, acknowledged the nexus of Weston’s birthday, the two-year anniversary of his completion of treatment and childhood cancer awareness month.

Within the week, Weston was well on his way of making it a moment he won’t likely forget.

“Weston is so excited when he gets a package to add to his pile,” Mom wrote in an Aug. 22 post. “So far we have 134 packs of Play-Doh, 2 monster trucks, over 60 dinosaurs and 1 Spiderman. We have also been given monetary donations for him to go pick things out…

Two Popes director cut down sex abuse scandal scenes to avoid over-powering film

The Brazilian filmmaker, who is responsible for films such as City Of God and The Constant Gardener, said an earlier cut of The Two Popes originally contained more scenes about the topic.

Arriving at the movie’s premiere at the BFI London Film Festival, he told the PA news agency: “Of course we tackle these issues, because we couldn’t make a film on the church without tackling it, but we had more scenes on child abuse that we cut from the film because we had too much.

“That is what we felt when we first cut the film, if we talked too much about it, it becomes the film, because it’s such a topic.

“And that was not the film, this film was really about tolerance, tradition and a spiritual issue, a political issue, and we don’t want it to all become about sexual abuse.

“So we tackle it but we don’t go thick because it would steal the whole film, it would be a film about it.”

Meirelles added he had little interest in the Catholic Church before he made the film, which stars Sir Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce, saying: “I knew nothing about what was happening and I had no interest at all about the relationship but I like Pope Francis very much, that is what dragged me to the story.

“For the film I think the relationship between both of them is the most interesting part of the film because they don’t agree on anything, they really think in opposite ways but they have to…

Supreme Court to Hear Oral Arguments that Could Redefine ‘Sex’ as ‘Gender Identity’

Supreme Court to Hear Oral Arguments that Could Redefine ‘Sex’ as ‘Gender Identity’

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments to redefine “sex” in federal law.

As Christian Headlines previously reported, the case centers on a Michigan Christian funeral home that fired a biological male employee who wished to wear a female uniform during a funeral and thus violating the business’ sex-specific dress code. When the employee sued, a lower court decided that the funeral home must allow their employee to dress as a woman based on the employee’s gender identity.

An appellate court later ruled that it’s “analytically impossible to fire an employee based on that employee’s status as a transgender person without being motivated, at least in part, by the employee’s sex.”

The ACLU believes, according to Buzzfeed News, that the funeral home violated a precedent set in 1989’s Price Waterhouse v. Hopkins hearing, in which a woman was denied partnership at her firm because she did not “act like a woman.” The discrimination, the court ruled, was based on gender stereotypes.

The Alliance Defending Freedom, who will argue the case on behalf of the funeral home, believes that redefining “sex” as “gender identity” would be dangerous.

“Americans should be able to rely on what the law says. Redefining ‘sex’ to mean ‘gender identity’ creates chaos, is unfair to women and girls, and puts employers in…

The specialist insurer for faith, heritage, charity and education markets topped the list of 49 insurers for the tenth time, including such companies as John Lewis, NatWest, Co-operative Insurance and Aviva.

Ecclesiastical has remained top of the table for the past five years and gained an overall customer experience score that is 11 per cent higher than its closest rival Nationwide, at 81 per cent.

The firm was also rated the most trusted insurer by its customers, achieving a rating of 82 per cent.

Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive, said: “I am delighted that Ecclesiastical has remained at the top of the Fairer Finance league table for home insurance, and that we continue to be the UK’s most trusted home insurance provider.

Six Girls, Two Staff Members Kidnapped from Christian-Run High School in Nigeria

Six Girls, Two Staff Members Kidnapped from Christian-Run High School in Nigeria

JOSNigeria, October 7, 2019 (Morning Star News) – A day before the Kaduna governor said kidnappers terrorizing the state are working with Boko Haram, Muslim Fulani herdsmen on Thursday (Oct. 3) kidnapped six teenage girls and two staff members from a Christian-run high school in north-central Nigeria, sources said.

Suspected to be herdsmen who have carried out numerous kidnappings and attacks in southern Kaduna state, the armed Fulani at 12:20 a.m. invaded Engravers’ College in Kakau Daji village, in Chikun County Local Government Area near Kaduna city, as students and staff members fled into the bushes, the sources said. The eight victims were taken away at gunpoint.

Kaduna Gov. Nasir el-Rufai told media on Friday (Oct. 4) that “bandits,” the term used by officials and Nigerian media wary of connecting the kidnappings to their fellow tribal Fulani, are working alongside elements of Islamic extremist group Boko Haram.

“We have been receiving intelligence some three months ago that the bandits have connected with some elements of Boko Haram, and they will be targeting schools to kidnap children because they know that that is what makes the news,” El-Rufai said.

Shunom Giwa, vice principal of Engravers’ College, said that five armed herdsmen appeared at the door of his house and spoke with each other in the Fulani language.

“They asked…

Tennessee Gov. Declares Day of Prayer and Fasting: ‘Give Thanks to God Almighty’

Tennessee Gov. Declares Day of Prayer and Fasting: ‘Give Thanks to God Almighty’

Tennessee’s new governor has issued an official proclamation naming Oct. 10 a “Day of Prayer, Humility, and Fasting” and is urging the state’s citizens to join him and his wife in asking for “God’s favor and blessing.”

Gov. Bill Lee, a Republican who took office in January, posted the 230-word proclamation on his Twitter profile. In a separate video, he had thanked people across the state for praying for him.

“We know that prayer accomplishes much,” he said. “Prayer strengthens our families and it strengthens our communities. It strengthens our relationship with our neighbors. It strengthens our relationship with God himself.”

Lee and his wife Maria, he said, are inviting the people of Tennessee to pray for the state on Oct. 10 to request “God’s favor and blessing on the people of Tennessee.”

The proclamation thanks God for the many blessings in the state – the Smoky Mountains, the Mississippi River and its people – and requests forgiveness for “transgressions,” including for “acts of discrimination, oppression and injustice.” The proclamation further asks God for wisdom for “challenges”…
