The deputy leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah terror group has vowed to strike back against Israel.

According to CBN News, Hezbollah does not want war with Israel but has promised to attack the country.

Hezbollah’s deputy leader warned Israel to expect a “calculated strike”

“I rule out that the atmosphere is one of war, it is one of a response to an attack,” Hezbollah deputy leader Sheikh Naim Qassem said in a TV interview this week Reuters reports. “Everything will be decided at its time.

“We want the strike to be a surprise… and so there is no interest in diving into the details. The coming days will reveal this,” he said.

According to CBN News, Qassem’s comments come after two Israeli drones reportedly crashed near Beirut. One drone exploded and damaged Hezbollah’s media center. No injuries were reported, but the drones were reportedly targeting an industrial mixing machine in Beirut that makes solid-fuel as part of the development of long-range missiles.

According to the Times of Israel, the explosions could set the missile plans back at least one year.

Israel has not claimed the drones, but Lebanon says two more Israeli drones flew into Lebanese airspace Wednesday. The Lebanese army opened fire on the drones.

Qassem says the drones that crashed were rigged with explosives.

Episcopal priest Reverend Katherine Ragsdale, with her organization National Abortion Federation, will hand out pre-paid gas cards for women seeking abortions, according to FaithWire.

“Since there are a limited number of providers and states continue to impose additional restrictions, many women have to travel long distances to reach the closest provider who can help them,” NAF said in a statement. “And this situation will only worsen as the political environment continues to become more hostile toward abortion rights.”

Ragsdale, who is the Interim President and CEO of NAF, believes the initiative will provide more support for women “so that they can make, and act on, the best decisions for themselves and their families.”

The pilot program will run for three months and start in states that have waiting periods or other abortion restrictions, LifeNews reports.

The response comes in light of several states furthering restrictive abortion limits. States such as Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana have nearly abolished terminations and several other states are poised to do the same.

As the first lesbian to become a leader of an Episcopal seminary, Ragsdale has been no stranger to controversy.

A confessed murderer has revealed that he only chose to admit his crime after listening to a famous worship song and being convicted by the Holy Spirit.

Danny Dashay Holmes shocked a Tennessee court when he revealed that he’d experienced a change of heart after listening to the Big Daddy Weave song, “Redeemed.” Holmes was in prison and charged with robbery and murder when the spirit awakened his conscience.

“I’m 30 years old, and I’ve been fighting for nothing all my life,” he told Circuit Judge David Bragg, according to the Daily News Journal. “I’ve been fighting for gangs. … I ain’t never fought for anything that made sense. But I knew the Lord was telling me to fight for him this time. I just knew he was stirring on my spirit.”

Holmes insisted that the song had spoken straight to his heart, compelling him to speak the truth about what happened. “I knew the Lord was just on me, weighing on me over and over,” he declared.

Mike Weaver, the lead singer of the band, told Christianity Today that he was “blown away” by the impact his song had on the convict.

“Over the last handful of years, so many stories have come from God using that song,” he explained.  “It is a message that is so dear to [God’s] heart.”

NEW DELHI, August 29, 2019 (Morning Star News) – When Bijaya Kumar Sanaseth went to jail for a murder in India that he did not commit more than 10 and a half years ago, his mother was still alive and his oldest child was 9 years old.

“I have not seen my children grow,” Sanaseth, the second Christian to be released on bail of the seven wrongly convicted of killing a Hindu extremist leader, told Morning Star News between sobs.  “My six children were very young, with my youngest child, a girl, being 1-year-old, and my oldest, a boy, was 9 years old. Today the youngest is 12 and my oldest is 20. Nobody can give me back the years that I have lost.” 

Sanaseth and the six other Christians were convicted in September 2013 of the murder of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, whose death on Aug. 23, 2008 touched off anti-Christian attacks that killed 120 people, destroyed nearly 6,000 homes and displaced 55,000 Christians. Now 47, Sanaseth was released on bail on July 27, two months and six days after fellow convict Gornath Chalanseth was bailed out on May 21.

“I faced a lot of hardships in jail – I thank God for this freedom,” Sanaseth said. “I trusted God would bring me out one day.”

The Trump administration’s Department of Health and Human Services issued a formal notice Wednesday against a government-funded Vermont hospital, alleging it violated federal law by forcing a Catholic nurse to assist with an abortion.

The department’s Notice of Violation against the University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) threatens the loss of federal funding if the hospital fails to conform its policies with the so-called Church Amendments, which were enacted in the 1970s and protect the conscience rights of individuals and entities that object to abortion. 

The UVMMC nurse filed a complaint on May 9, 2018. An investigation by the department’s Office for Civil Rights found that the medical center “forced the nurse complainant to assist in an abortion against the nurse’s religious or moral objection,” according to an HHS news release.

“The nurse had expressed an objection for many years and was included in a list of objectors, but UVMMC knowingly assigned the nurse to an abortion procedure,” HHS said. “The nurse was not told the procedure was an abortion until the nurse walked into the room, when the doctor – knowing the nurse objected to assisting in abortions – told the nurse, ‘Don’t hate me.’ The nurse again objected, and other staff were present who could have taken the nurse’s place, but the nurse was required to assist with…
