MESSAGE:
A major milestone for excellence is that you must be ready to go the extra mile and pay the greatest price. To come out with excellent grades as a student, you must be prepared to do all that is required of you and then exceed it. You may have to reduce watching television, going on social media and visits to friends. You may have to burn the midnight oil while others are sleeping. Your friends may call you names such as “bookworm” and point out to you that you are missing out on life, but goal of excellence should make you ignore them. Their goals are not the same as yours, so don’t let them distract you.
To attain the greater level that God is taking you to, you must be willing to pay the price; your level of achievement will always be a function of the level of sacrifice you can make. Sit down and think of what you want to achieve in life, write that down then map out what you will need to do to achieve it. Remember, if you want to be above your peers, you have to put in more effort than them.

God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins so we can live for Him (John 3:15; 2 Corinthians 5:15). Life is not worth living if it is not lived for Christ (Philippians 1:21).
Unfortunately, many people have deviated from this original plan of God for His children by living for themselves. They live for many other things on Earth instead of living for God.
Now, let me give you the categories of things people live for:
i. Money (1Timothy 6:10).
There are people who live for money. The quest for money is the centre of their existence. They can hurt, maim, kill, lose sleep, avoid going to church, etc. because of money. The most important thing in their lives is money.
ii. Pleasure (1 Timothy 5:6).
There are people who live for pleasure. These are people whose lives revolve around the transient fantasies of life.
iii. The world (1 John 2:15-17).
There are people who live just for this world. The world dictates and directs the lives of these people. They cannot take a stand for God because of what the world would say. They value the opinion of the world above the counsel of the Word of God.
Now, what does it mean to live for God?
It means:
i. Making God your most important reason for living: When you come to the point where your ultimate reason for existence is God, you are living for God.
ii. Making God your priority in the expenditure of your time: When you value your time with God more than any other thing, you are living for God.
iii. Giving God the glory in the management of your resources by touching lives and making impact for God.
iv. Making God the focus of your life’s pursuits: That is making passion for God the driving force behind all your endeavours in life.
v. Existence as a visible representative of the invisible God: That is living your life as a worthy ambassador of God and His Kingdom on earth.
Beloved, until you live for God, you can never end with God. You cannot live for yourself and find yourself with God accidentally in eternity.

MESSAGE:
When Jesus declared that He came to fulfil the law and the prophets, all He meant was that He came to offer a permanent solution to the uncleanness of sin in the world which leprosy in the days of Moses symbolised. As a priest was needed to take care of cleansing, so we need Jesus, our High Priest, to deal with the uncleanness and filth of man. No wonder, P.P. Bliss, a renowned songwriter wrote in one of his songs “More purity give me, More strength to o’ercome; More freedom from earth stains, More longings for home; More fit for the kingdom, More useful I’d be; More blessed and holy, More Saviour, like Thee”.
In the text, God declared any man with a running issue from his flesh unclean, including his beddings, clothes and the saddle he sits upon. Whatever and whoever he came in contact with was to be declared unclean and had to meet certain purification conditions to be clean again.
The suffering death of Jesus Christ on the cross was primarily meant to free mankind from the yoke of sin, diseases, sickness and oppression of all kinds. Far beyond the bodily benefits that modern medical sciences offer, God’s word has been proved for centuries to be health to the body (Proverbs 4:20-22). The healing of diseases and sicknesses forms an integral part of the package from Calvary.
The gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke tell how Jesus made “whole” the woman with the issue of blood when she touched the hem of His garment. The unclean was made clean by the touch of Christ. Absolute faith in Christ’s healing power will cleanse you from any form of uncleanness which may be as a result of sin and make you whole, spiritually and physically.

My heart bled for Sister Jane when she dragged her unemployed engineering graduate son to me for counselling to stop him from travelling abroad by any means available. Our young engineer had boasted that he was ready to drive taxis, do barbering or any menial job outside this country, because any job there is big money.
I appeal to our young people that the situation may not be as hopeless as you may think. All you need is patience, quite determination and the willingness to build.
In 2011, a major global investment firm identified Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey (abbreviated as MINT) as four countries likely to become part of the ten biggest global economies by the year 2050, because their large populations means there would be many young people and a strong work force. Nigeria’s numerous rich natural resources plus the oil and the well-regulated banking system, make it a good candidate for a strong economy.
My dear young people, why not learn a vocation in addition to your degree and start your own business? With Chinese products gradually becoming expensive, Africa can be the next factory to the world to replace China. We can become the world’s solar energy headquarters if we could develop cheaper solar panels using our local materials. With so much land available, farming for export is a wonderful opportunity. Our young people should consider converting the internet and social networking sites to forums for sharing best practices with their overseas counterparts on how to modernise artisan professions like building, mechanic, tailoring, textile design, farming, metal work, etc. The world is eagerly waiting for our products in the global market.
Beloved, the streets of America and Europe are not paved with gold. They were built over many centuries by men like us, who sacrificed by investing in themselves and their fellow countrymen. Their children are reaping the dividends today.
Young Christians, encouraged by parents, should spearhead a revolution of patient hard work, entrepreneurship, innovation and self-enhancement. We desperately need our dignity back. God says that wherever the soles of your feet tread, you shall possess. Like Joseph and Daniel, you can excel anywhere you find yourself.

Open Heaven 30 April 2019 Tuesday MESSAGE:
For various reasons such as worldliness, the pursuit of pleasure, and the desire for power, wealth, and fame, many Christians all over the world today no longer keep the second coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in focus. This nonchalant attitude towards His return coupled with unbelief, is largely responsible for the widespread spiritual decadence in the world and even among Christians today. Jesus knew this would happen when he give us the parable of the king who went to a far country, leaving his servants in charge of his kingdom to occupy till His return (Luke 19:11-27). Although we have waited for so long for His return, I can assure you by the infallibility of God’s word that our King is coming soon as He promised. He is coming to judge both the living and the dead. Don’t be deceived by the lies of the Devil or by current developments around the world to conclude that Jesus Christ will not come again. Do not fall for the deceit of those who suggest that He has already come in the Spirit. These are all lies of the Devil. The angels who addressed the early disciples after the ascension of the Lord declared in Acts 1:11:
“…Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”
Regardless of whatever anyone has to say about the rapture or the second coming, the truth remains that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming again to put the devil where he belongs. First in the bottomless pit and finally, in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:1, Revelation 20:10). The angels who fell with the Devil after his rebellion, now known as demons, will also share in his destiny (Matthew 25:41). Moreover, our King is coming to give reward to those who belong to Him, in accordance to their works. He said in Revelation 22:12:
“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”
He also declared in Luke 19:27:
“But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.”
Beloved, this will not be your portion in Jesus’ Name. However, you must always remember that the King of kings is coming soon. You must also be mindful of what He is coming to do so that you can fully prepare yourself in readiness for His return. Are you ready?

Funeral Held for Eight Christians Killed in Easter Procession in Nigeria
JOS, Nigeria, April 29, 2019 (Morning Star News) – Hundreds of family members and sympathizers on Saturday (April 27) attended a funeral in northeastern Nigeria for eight young Christians, six of them minors, who were killed when an off-duty security officer drove his vehicle into their Easter procession on April 21, sources said.
The officer, identified as Adamu Abubakar of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), reportedly had angry words with leaders of the Christian procession that delayed him and a passenger, off-duty police officer Murtala Hassan, from proceeding at a junction in Gombe, capital of Gombe state.
The Christian leaders of the Boys and Girls Brigade, and international, interdenominational Christian youth organization, let the two Muslim men pass through, but a survivor told Nigerian outlet The Daily Trust that the driver warned them he would return, made a U-turn, switched off his headlights and rammed the procession from behind.
“This incident, no doubt, is motivated by terrorist acts, as the driver deliberately crashed into the procession,” the chairman of the Gombe State Battalion Brigade of the Boys Brigade, Isaac Kwadang, told Morning Star News. “The driver of the vehicle is a Muslim and an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), while his passenger is a Muslim police officer.”
China Training Pastors to Preach on Communism, not the Bible
Officials in China’s third largest province are training pastors to include communist ideology in their weekly sermons, according to a new report from a religious liberty watchdog.
The same officials also are forcing pastors to affirm traditional Chinese beliefs – such as ancestral worship – that conflict with Scripture.
At issue is the approval of pastors within the Three-Self Patriotic Movement, the government-approved Protestant body that faces severe restrictions.
Pastors who failed a test on communist beliefs weren’t approved.
Last year the Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs in Henan province – the third-largest province with 94 million people – began applying Communist Party membership standards to screen Three-Self preachers, according to Bitter Winter, an organization that monitors religious liberty.
The assessment included two parts: a sample sermon and a questionnaire.
The Bureau told the pastors to write a sample sermon that must include “national policy, traditional culture and the core socialist values” in the text, Bitter Winter reported. Christian doctrines such as eternal life, heaven and hell were prohibited from being included.
“The preachers are worried that churches in China will eventually become the CCP’s political propaganda agencies,” Bitter Winter’s Jiang Tao wrote.
Video Shows Orb of Light When Sperm Meets Egg Sparking Conversation About When Life Begins
Scientists at Northwestern University in Chicago say they witnessed a burst of zinc fireworks at the moment when a human sperm joins an egg.
According to LifeNews.com, scientists believe the flash of light signals the moment human life begins.
“We discovered the zinc spark just five years ago in the mouse, and to see the zinc radiate out in a burst from each human egg was breathtaking,” said Dr. Teresa Woodruff, a professor at Northwestern. “It was remarkable.”
According to their research, the flash happens when the sperm enters the egg and triggers calcium that then releases zinc from the egg. To see the zinc, researchers added small molecule probes that lit under certain conditions.
“These fluorescence microscopy studies establish that the zinc spark occurs in human egg biology, and that can be observed outside of the cell,” said Tom O’Halloran, the study’s other senior author.
The research also said that “over the last six years this team has shown that zinc controls the decision to grow and change into a completely new genetic organism.”
Scientists also said the intensity of the flash of light could indicate the egg’s quality and the viability of the embryo. This could mean that doctors could use that research in the future to determine what eggs are best for in vitro fertilization.
Avengers: Endgame Included Marvel’s 1st Gay Character
The blockbuster film Avengers: Endgame broke nearly every major box-office record for a movie’s opening weekend.
It also made history in another way by featuring the first openly gay character in a Disney/Marvel film – even if it was in a minor role.
Early in the film, Steve Rogers/Captain America is seen leading a small support group for people who were not wiped out at the end of the previous movie, Infinity War. The scene takes place five years after the villain Thanos vanished half the population.
“So I went on a date the other day – the first time in five years,” an unidentified male character tells the support group. The man says he “didn’t know what to talk about” on the date and then describes what he and his date discussed, including “my job, his job.”
“I’m seeing him again tomorrow,” the man says.
Rogers tells the man: “That’s great. You did the hardest part. You took a jump [and] you didn’t know where you were going to come down.”
The remaining people on the planet, Rogers says, must “find purpose” and “move on.”
Co-director Joe Russo played the unidentified man.
