College Women Should Have Abortions to ‘Stay on Track,’ Calif. Bill Says
A California bill that would force public universities to provide women easy access to the abortion pill so they can “stay on track” passed a legislative committee Wednesday.
The bill, SB 24, passed the state Senate education committee 5-2, three weeks after it also passed the Senate health committee, 7-2. Its next stop is the appropriations committee.
If passed, it would require “each student health care services clinic” on a “California State University or University of California campus” to “offer abortion by medication techniques,” according to the bill’s text. Each campus would receive a grant of $200,000.
There are more than 400,000 female students within California’s public university system.
“The state has an interest in ensuring that every pregnant person in California who wants to have an abortion can obtain access to that care as easily and as early in pregnancy as possible,” the bill says. “When pregnant young people decide that abortion is the best option for them, having early, accessible care can help them stay on track to achieve their educational and other aspirational life plans.”
Abortion, the bill says, is a “constitutional right and an integral part of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care.”

Ingratitude is a character trait that manifest itself as a lack of appreciation or thankfulness due for a favour received. The Bible tells us that it is important for believers in Christ to appreciate and show gratitude to God for the manifold blessings that He gives daily. It is especially important for us to appreciate God for who He is and constantly give Him thanks for the salvation of our souls, the redemption of humanity, the favour He surrounds us with, and for the glorious future that awaits us. In Psalm 136, the Holy Spirit emphasizes the importance of gratitude and gives reasons why we should appreciate God. In Psalm 100:4, He also says:
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18 teaches us that giving thanks in all situations is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus.
If you only praise and worship God whenever you are in a congregation or whenever you are told to so, then your praise is not overflowing from a heart of gratitude – you are just following orders. Always remember that God does not want people to give Him thanks because they are told to do so; He wants people whose heart would rise joyfully and spontaneously everyday with gratitude to him whenever they remember His numerous benefits in their lives. I pray that God will always ensure you have reasons to praise Him in Jesus’ Name. The Bible contains examples of people who showed ingratitude to God in spite of all the blessings and gifts He bestowed on them. The story of today’s Bible reading is one of such examples of the ten lepers that Jesus miraculously healed, only one returned to glorify God. The question is, are you among the nine ingrates?
In the beginning the Lord in His infinite wisdom created man in His image and in His likeness, for the purpose of showing forth His praise. Revelation 4:11 says God created all things, including human beings, for His pleasure. Isaiah 43:21 further says:
“This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.”
Ingratitude to God is therefore considered an act of wicked rebellion against Him (Romans 1:21). No wonder it is listed as one of the evil traits that men will manifest in the last days (2 Timothy 3:2). May the heart of genuine appreciation to God develop in you today in Jesus’ Name.

‘God Is Moving,’ Sadie Robertson Says after Visiting College Campuses on Tour
This past week, author and Live Original founder, Sadie Robertson, shared an encouraging note about the faith of college students on Instagram after visiting a few college campuses.
In her post to Instagram, Robertson shared with her 3 million followers some uplifting news: there is a stirring of the holy spirit on college campuses.
“I’m blown away by what I saw, what I experienced, and all the conversations that I had,” she shared.
Robertson visited three colleges that week – the University of Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi State – and saw the same hope on each campus.
A hope for revival, a hope for stepping into the grace of God, and a hope for real change in their hearts. Robertson explained that she saw a desire for authenticity on the campuses, a real craving for truth.

A study has raised concerns that social care is at a crisis point as fewer people are getting the care they need.
Research by the King’s Fund think tank found 13,000 fewer people received aid last year as requests for support among adults rose by 2%.
The report suggests that a rise in the older population has placed increasing strain on the care system, with 22% saying they need support but don’t get it.
Carl Knightly from Faith in Later Life, an umbrella charity that works with The Salvation Army and Pilgrim’s Friends Society, told Premier: “Community engagement is really important and churches are ideally placed and have a biblical mandate to serve and honour our older folk.
“There are many benefits to society that come with and through older people and church can be at the centre of supporting and empowering older people in a variety of ways, as well as inviting them into Christ-centred community.”
The data shows a drop of £700 million in local authority spending over the past nine years, revealing that the need for healthcare is not being matched by government provision.
The report comes as the Labour Party announced plans for more home care packages that provide help getting in and out of bed, bathing and preparing meals.

It is wonderful to be able to share God’s Word with you once more in this column. So far, I have taught you the mystery of two becoming one, the mystery of ‘two people one life’, the concept of oneness, and today, I shall be sharing with you on the subject which I titled: Not good to be alone. Marriage is not a necessary evil; your perspectives of it make it what it is to you. God designed and programmed your marriage to work, but how you see it will determine whether it works for you or not. You must agree with God that when you enter into holy matrimony, you are stepping into a better way of life. Most couples lack this understanding; so, they groan about marriage, instead of enjoying its covenant benefits. You shall not fail, in Jesus’ name!
At the time of creation, the Lord God emphasized the need that mankind has for companionship. Man and woman are not created to live in isolation, but to live in relationship with each other. The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.’ …Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man (Genesis 2:18/22).
To provide a suitable partner for the man, God created a woman from his rib, thereby highlighting the closeness of the relationship between the sexes, and providing a symbol of the one-flesh union that is created at marriage. Notice that it is God Himself who gave the woman Eve to Adam as if He is the father of the bride. The man was overjoyed with the woman, his God-given marriage partner. Adam recognized the closeness of the relationship to his new wife, and described her as …bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man (Genesis 2:23). By referring to bone and flesh, Adam was showing that he understood that his wife was a part of him, that she was his flesh and blood, for she was taken out of him. Indeed, the true definition of a woman is one who is taken out of man. Adam then named her woman, signifying the role of the man as the head of the family. Later, after the fall, Adam named his wife Eve (Genesis 3:20), because she would become the mother of all the living.
Following the introduction of Eve to Adam, God laid down the principles that are to govern all future marriages. ‘For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh’ (Genesis 2:24). The Scripture explains the reason for marriage: it is because of the fundamental unity between man and woman. God has created male and female to complement each other.

The woman is created to be a suitable partner for the man; she is created from the body of the man and is of the same flesh and bone as the man. The joining together of male and female in marriage creates the fundamental unity of humanity. By joining together in sexual intercourse, the husband and wife create a new life which is the natural fruit of their marriage union. It is God’s will that children are born into the family created by the one-flesh marriage union. Husband and wife, through the fruitfulness of their marriage union, become father and mother to the children born as a result of their one flesh union. Both Jesus, in the gospels of Matthew and Mark, and the Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 5:25–33, referred to Genesis 2:24 to explain the mystery of the one flesh union created by marriage.
At the heart of marriage is the idea that a man leaves the family into which he was born and forms a new family with his wife. This point is of fundamental importance and needs to be clearly understood. Marriage creates a new family as husband and wife leave the family of their parents and start a family home together. A man must let go of his parents, with the view to establishing his own home and family.
In order to cement this unity, the man leaves his father and mother so that he can give his full devotion to his wife. The husband and wife take their marriage vows in front of witnesses and make clear their intention to live together as a family for life. It is public knowledge that the man and woman are committed for life and are not available to others.
The word cleave is used in the older translations of the Bible and means to cling to or keep close to, implying loyalty and affection. Cleave suggests that marriage involves a partnership commitment to which the husband and wife must be loyal; the biblical concept suggests the idea of being super-glued together – bound inseparably by a commitment to a lifelong relationship.
The power to fulfill your marital responsibility only comes from God. If you desire this power, you need to surrender your life to Christ if you are not born again. This means accepting Jesus as the Lord and personal Saviour of your life. If you desire to surrender and be born again, say this simple prayer in faith: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

50 Percent of Americans Believe Christians Face Discrimination
Some 50 percent of Americans believe that Christians face some level of discrimination, according to a survey from the Pew Research Center.
The survey of more than 1,500 adults found that many Americans think discrimination is growing against certain groups such as Evangelicals and Jews.
In 2016, the same study found that 42 percent believed Christians faced discrimination.
According to Christianity Today, evangelicals have pointed to experiences where they say they’ve been unfairly treated, such as when Twitter deleted the account for the pro-life film Unplanned and when a student government representative at Berkeley was asked to resign for refusing to vote against her Christian beliefs.
“There’s more explicit hostility toward Christians in some sectors of power—that is real and not imagined,” Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, told CT in 2017. “There’s always a tendency to have a siege mentality and to imagine that people hate us, when they’re just not thinking about us at all. But I do think there are several examples where that’s the case.”
Also in the study, Pew found that Republicans are about twice as likely as Democrats to say that evangelicals, whites and men face discrimination.

On Wednesday Father Martin Magill, the Parish Priest at St John’s Parish, Belfast, told the packed St Anne’s Cathedral: “Why in God’s name does it take the death of a 29 year old woman with her whole life in front of her to get us to this point? As Christians recalled the death of Jesus on the cross, we remembered that his death was not in vain but was for us the doorway to eternal life. I dare to hope that Lyra’s murder on Holy Thursday night can be the doorway to a new beginning.”
Fr Martin received a standing ovation and on Friday it was announced that there will be new talks to re-establish power sharing at the Northen Ireland assembly.
Reverend Brian Anderson, who is a Methodist minister in Belfast, says Father Martin Magill may have played a significant role in finding a way to end Northern Ireland’s political deadlock.
The Northern Ireland Assembly collapsed more than two years ago, and talks up until this point have failed to restore it. Northern Ireland’s two biggest political parties have failed to reach an agreement that would allow the Assembly to reconvene.
Rev. Anderson is hopeful the reaction to Lyra’s death, and Fr Martin’s words at the funeral, will help create an opportunity for political progress: “In some ways, what he said will allow them off their hooks and out of their corners – because there’s a momentum now.
And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church (Ephesians 1:22).
1 Corinthians 15:25 declares: “For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.” This isn’t about Jesus reigning in heaven; rather, it’s about Him reigning on earth. Legally, God has put all things under the feet of Jesus (Ephesians 1:22). Isaiah 9:6 says, “…and the government shall be upon his shoulder….” This is so powerful, because it introduces our connection to it. If He had said, “…And the government shall be upon His head,” that would have meant the Lord Jesus, since He’s the head, and we’re His body.
Therefore, the government being upon His shoulder means His reign, His rulership, and authority are upon the Church; it’s borne by us. Hallelujah! This means even if you were the least in the Church—the smallest toe of the left foot—you’re still above all things, because all things have been placed under His feet. This is a settled fact in heaven. God already said so, and nothing can change it. The Lord Jesus, through the Church, must reign over all things.
What this means is that in these last days, you’re expected to arise, take up the arms of faith, and be strengthened in the things of God. Speak the Word with boldness and see it come to pass. The world and the fullness thereof have been given to you. Therefore, be bold and possess the earth. Exercise dominion and take charge of your life; command every contrary storm to be calm in the Name of Jesus! Refuse to be sick, poor or defeated. Rule over circumstances. Hallelujah!

Do you ever have seasons in your life when it seems like every time you go to church and every time you spend time in prayer and every time you open the Bible, you receive a revelation from God? I do. Spiritually, everything will be going great. I’ll be higher than a Georgia pine. Then, suddenly, something starts to happen. I start drying up in spiritual things.
It seems like it doesn’t make any difference what I pray or how much I read the Word, I can’t get anywhere spiritually. I’m so dry my spirit’s creaking!
That used to baffle me. I didn’t know what the cause was. I didn’t have any sin in my life. I’d taken care of that. I was still praying. Still meditating. Still acting on and confessing the Word. But instead of getting results, I was getting nowhere. I’d stand in front of my mirror and confess faith over and over again and the only thing that happened was that my voice got tired!
If that’s ever happened to you, may I make a suggestion? Backtrack and find the last thing God told you to do that you didn’t do—and do it!
It’s probably nothing big. Just a seemingly small thing. But, believe me, those minor disobediences will dry up the flow of the Spirit just like the major ones will.
Most of us don’t realize that. We’ll get on our knees and say, “Oh Lord, I want to go to China for You. I’ll go to Africa. I’ll go to Russia.” But when God says, Go next door, we just shrug it off.
“I can’t do that,” we’ll say. “That guy next door doesn’t like me. Besides, I want to be like Brother Schambach and get a big tent.”
If you’ve done something like that, repent. Then pick up where you left off and do what God directed. And from now on, remember, no matter how insignificant God’s instructions may seem, obeying them is no small thing! It’s those simple acts of obedience that will make your spiritual house stand…or fall. All the small things combined become the direction of our lives.

Persecution is an inevitable part of the Christian life. Persecution is from Satan and is designed to uproot God’s Word in our lives by taking our eyes off Jesus. We should not think it is strange to be persecuted. ‘All that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution’ (2 Tim. 3:12). We can actually rejoice because we are being persecuted, for Jesus’ sake, knowing that the Lord will be with us in the midst of the persecution and that there will be more than ample reward when we stand before Him (Heb. 11:26).
Persecution is an indication that the ones doing the persecuting are under conviction. They realize that they are not living what your words or actions are advocating and so, in defense of self, they attack the ones whom they perceive to be the source of their conviction. If this is understood, it makes persecution much easier to take. They aren’t just mad at you; they are convicted. When the Gospel is presented in the power of the Holy Spirit, there will always be either a revival or a riot, but not indifference.
There are many forms of persecution. Having your life threatened because of your faith in Jesus is one way you can be persecuted, but it is not the most damaging. History shows that the Church has always flourished under persecution with increased numbers and zeal. During intense, life-threatening persecution, people’s priorities get straightened out and the Lord assumes His rightful place. This always works for our good, regardless of what our outward circumstances might be. Remember it is not you that they are persecuting, but rather Christ in you.
