Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. — Proverbs 4:25

Are you enjoying the life and blessings of God in your everyday life? Or have you made a series of choices resulting in disappointment, pain, or feeling that everything you do requires great effort and produces little reward? Don’t spend your time and energy mourning all the bad decisions you have made; just start making good ones. There is hope for you!

The way to overcome the results of a series of bad choices is through a series of right choices. The only way to walk out of trouble is to do the opposite of whatever you did to get into trouble—one choice at a time.

Maybe the circumstances of your life right now are the direct result of a series of bad choices you have made. You may be in debt because you have made a lot of bad choices with money. You may be lonely because of a series of bad choices in relationships or in the way you treat people. You may be sick because of a series of unhealthy choices: eating junk food, not getting enough rest, or abusing your body through working too much and not having enough balance in your life.

You cannot make a series of bad choices that result in significant problems and then make one good choice and expect all the results of all those bad choices to go away. You did not get into deep trouble through one bad choice; you got into trouble through a series of bad choices. If you really want your life to change for the better, you will need to make one good choice after another, over a period of time, just as consistently as you made the negative choices that produced negative results.

No matter what kind of trouble or difficulty you got yourself into, you can still have a blessed life. You cannot do anything about what is behind you, but you can do a great deal about what lies ahead of you. God is a redeemer, and He will always give you another chance.

Trust in Him If you have a situation that is too big for you to solve, then you are material for a miracle. Invite God to get involved, trust in and follow His directions, make one good choice after another, and you will see amazing results.

Prayer Starter: Father, thank You for Your wisdom and guidance to make good choices for my life. Please help me to leave past disappointments behind and begin, one by one, to make decisions that will bring a harvest of good things into my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

TOPIC: The Hope of Resurrection

READ: 1 Corinthians 15:12-28 New King James Version (NKJV)

1. Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
2. But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen.
3. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.
4. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise.
5. For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen.
6. And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!
7. Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
8. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.
9. But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
10. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.
11. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
12. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.
13. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.
14. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
15. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
16. For “He has put all things under His feet.” But when He says “all things are put under Him, ” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted.
17. Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

THE MESSAGE:

Paul, in today’s passage, is gradually getting to the conclusion of this first letter to the Corinthian church. But he still had a very critical issue to address: the resurrection of the dead. It appears the Christians at Corinth were becoming increasingly confused about what happens after death. Many of them were beginning to be deceived by the lie of the devil that life on earth is all there is.

The danger, therefore, was for people to begin to live lives anyhow, assuming that there will be no judgment after death since there is no resurrection of the dead!
God inspired the Apostle Paul to address this matter. God’s verdict is very clear: if Jesus Christ rose from the dead (and He did), then definitely humanity will also rise from the dead – some to honour, some to dishonour (John 6:39-54; Matthew 16:24-27).

The truth is that if life were to end only on this earth, Jesus would not have bothered to come and to lay down His life for the world. But He died so that we who trust in Him might have hope, not only for this life, but also for the life after resurrection.

Let us, therefore, live each day as a rehearsal for the life to be spent in eternity with Christ.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the sacrifices of Your Son, Jesus Christ for me. Help me to live each day with eternity in mind.

“Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.” 1 Samuel 16:13. KJV

Saul tried many times to destroy David. He insisted that David would not be on the throne. He used every available opportunity, but he could not stop him. For every attempt he made, God created a way of escape for David. In the name that is above every name, you will escape from your enemies. Their plans against your life will never succeed. All the traps that they have laid against you, you are coming out of them. Whosoever digs a pit for you shall fall into it and whoever rolls a stone against you, it shall be rolled back against him. For every evil they have sown against you, they would reap a hundredfold. The enemy will not cut your life short. Every promise God has made shall be accomplished. Your life will glorify God!

God made sure that at the appointed time, David sat on the throne. Beloved, in Christ you are pleasing to God. And when your life pleases God, He makes even your enemies be at peace with you. He will even use those that you least expected. You know what happened? God was orchestrating things in the life of David. Right in the bedroom of Saul, God raised up a Jonathan. Now if you read it so fast you may miss the whole point. Who was Jonathan? The heir apparent! In other words, he was next in line to Saul from the human standpoint.

Beloved, the Bible says, promotion cometh not from the east, west, or south but from God. He is the Judge; He sets down one and lifts up another. You don’t promote yourself! Saul said to his son Jonathan: “Is something wrong with you? You are the heir apparent!” Jonathan said, “I have enough sense to know that God’s hand is upon David, I don’t want to occupy the seat a is not my own.” No one will occupy your seat.

MESSAGE:

There are two things anyone who will remain relevant in God’s vineyard must do, and they are self examination and self purging. 2 Corinthians 13:5 says:

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”

The word of God is a mirror, but unlike the physical mirror that can only show the physical image, it shows the spiritual image of the fellow in front of it. When you look into the mirror of the word of God, it reveals your impure thoughts, your hidden motives, and your bad ways, it then shows you how to correct them all and become more like Jesus. The more of God’s word you read and practice, the closer and nearer to Him God draws you.

Prayer Point: Ask God to give you the grace to make every correction the mirror of His word shows you.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Living in joy is living with strength, but living in depression is invitation for both oppression and affliction.

One of the greatest assets of any human being is the asset of health. That is why it has been said that health is wealth. It does not matter how much money you have, if you are not healthy, it is a waste of wealth.

Living in Divine health is God’s Will for His children. Divine health is living free of sickness or living in the state of health by the Power of God.

As children of God, there are things we need to do in order to enjoy Divine health from God. One of them is living in Joy.

It is medically proven that when joy increases in the body, there are some hormones that are produced referred to as ‘happy hormones’ that improve the health and wellbeing of the body.

Living in joy or merriment is living on spiritual medication because joy has curative or therapeutic power. Living in joy is living with strength, but living in depression is invitation for both oppression and affliction (Psalm 42:11).

Determine to maintain your joy at all cost. Enjoy where you are to get to where you are going. Kill depression at all cost. Do not wait for anyone to celebrate you, celebrate yourself!

REMEMBER THIS: Living in joy is living with strength, but living in depression is invitation for both oppression and affliction.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Maintain the atmosphere of joy around your life all the time.
2. Reject and desist from anyone and anything that seek to steal your joy.

Many Christians are naive in business because of the ugly side of doing business. But, a Christian should be encouraged to participate in business so as to gain more people (especially the unbelievers) to Christ when they do legitimate business with them in truth and sincerity.

The Bible says, “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God; for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” To get riches and wealth in business legitimately requires the hands and touch of God. So as a Christian in business, you should give all the glory and honour to God as you make progress in business so as to establish his covenant of prosperity and open heavens upon your life and totality.

Beloved, the plan of God for you especially in business is to succeed and to be productive and He will surely bring it to pass if you obey Him and do His will without lying and usury. God promises stand sure for you as a child of God to bless you and enlarge the coast of your business beyond your reasoning and thinking.

The Scriptures says in Number 23:19, “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Believe in God’s word and you will not be put to shame.
