Topic: Secrets of Greater Glory [Seeds of Destiny 3 March 2019 Devotional]

There is no success without secrets; there is no possibility without responsibility.

SCRIPTURE: The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts. – Haggai 2:9

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is no success without secrets; there is no possibility without responsibility.

It has been established that greater glory is the Will of God for His children (Haggai 2:9).

Yesterday, we saw the dimensions of the manifestation of greater glory we are expected to see in our lives as children of God; we saw that God is willing to manifest His Fullness, Might, Light, Goodness, Honour, Wealth and Peace in our lives.

Today, we shall look at the keys to accessing the greater glory of God. This is because there is no success without secrets, and there is no possibility without responsibility. To know and apply the secrets of greater glory is to experience greater glory practically in life.

Now, what are the secrets of greater glory in life and destiny?

i. Passion for God (Exodus 33:18; Psalm 63:1-2)

Your passion for God determines your portion with God.

ii. Following God’s pattern or plan for your life (Exodus 40:33-35; 25:40; 22:9). Following God’s pattern attracts His glory. When you follow the pattern of God, you enjoy His glory.

iii. Praising God in the beauty of Holiness (2Chronicles 5:13-14; Ex. 15:11). The praise of God commands the glory of God. To praise God unconditionally is to see His glory abundantly.

iv. Unconditional obedience to God’s Word (John 2:5, 11)

To obey God is to see His glory manifested. Where the obedience of God is confirmed, the glory of God is on ground.

v. Faith in God’s ability (John 11:40)

Your faith in God will pull the manifestation of His Glory.

To see greater glory, you must operate in greater faith.

Beloved, my counsel is, if you must see the glory of God in greater dimensions, then you must make up your mind to practice the secrets of greater glory outlined above. When you practice the secrets of greater glory, you would enjoy the products of greater glory.

Remember this: There is no success without secrets; there is no possibility without responsibility.

Topic: Peace Like A River [DCLM Daily Manna 3 March 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Genesis 26:26-35 (KJV)

Key Verse: “That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD” (Genesis 26:29).

MESSAGE:

Imagine how the world would have been if every human inhabitant of it were peaceable and would go the extra mile to secure it. In such a state, there probably would be no need for the police. All the defense mechanisms and security measures that men have surrounded themselves with would have been needless. But such a world exists only in our imagination until the millennium reign of the Prince of Peace. In reality, peace is a scarce commodity all over the world.

The wickedness and contradictions of the world notwithstanding, the Christian is expected to “follow peace with all men” and as much as possible to live peaceably with all men. The Lord has so designed it that the man of peace attracts peace. “When a man’s way please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him (Proverbs 16:7). This was the case of Isaac in our text.

The visit of Abimelech the king of Gerar and his friends, whether borne out of feeling of guilt or feeling of fear of repercussion, was a peace mission. The result of that meeting was a covenant of peace between Isaac and the people which was sealed with a feast that Isaac made for them. Observe how Isaac readily forgave the people and was willing to forge a peaceful and neighbourly relationship with them. He did not continue to nurse the injustice earlier meted out to him. It was more than a coincidence that the same day Isaac entered a peace treaty with Abimelech and his company, he was rewarded with a new well.

No less an attitude is expected of a Christian. As you step out today, make up your mind to chart a course of peace. Be willing to pay a reasonable price to secure peace. If Abimelech, a pagan king, took the initiative to make peace with a wronged Isaac, you should have more grace to initiate peace overtures to anyone whose way you have crossed.

Thought For The Day: We may not hope to achieve world peace, but we can achieve peace around us.

Three Strange Scriptures:

1. Exodus 32:9-11 – An encounter between Moses and God. The Lord has taken a decision but Moses engaged in the mystery of prayer. Moses engaged in an instrument that seems to tie the hand of God but God says, let me alone: as if Moses tied His hands. The only system that can achieve that is the “Mystery of Prayer”.

2. 1 Kings 18:42 – Elijah had prayed, closed heaven with his prayer, if its now time to open it. The first kind of prayer he prayed was different from the second prayer he prayed.
He put his head in between his knees to pray. It is appearing to me that the people of old understand this kind of prayer but this generation do not understand it. The awesomeness and kind of prayer of old is strange to this generation.

They do not know the geography, science and mystery of prayers.

There are prayers that can open, there are prayers that can close.
When God opens a door, no man can close it.
When God closes a door , no man can open it.

3. Acts 4:31 – They prayed to a level that their prayers starts to shake the building. If prayer is shaking the building, who is the witch or wizard that can stand it?

Prayer can uproot,

Prayer can disable,

Prayed can resurrect,

Prayer can revive,

Prayer can reverse,

Prayer can abolish,

Prayer can terminate,

Prayer can kill,

Prayer can build,

Prayer can destroy,

Prayer can fast forward,

Prayer can reorganise,

Prayer can plant,

Prayer can destroy, after all Jesus came to destroy, for the cause, the son of God was made manifest.

Prayer can recover, it can pursue, overtake, terrify, animate, blind (There are occasions in the bible, that blind prayers were said). Elisha, Paul, prayed blind prayers.

Prayer can pull down, create, recreate.

Prayer can rebrand, it can repackage, prayer can isolate, it can demote, it can reveal, prayer can decode, prayer can constitute, prayer can sanitize, prayer can legislate, prauer can authorize, prayer can dismiss, prayer can raise up, Prayer can dominate, it can judge, it can can acquit, prayer can bury, discern, prayer can dissolve, prayer can withdraw things, it can approve, it can disapprove, prayer can jump, it can incubate, prayers don’t die.

Prayer can echo, prayer can paralyze, prayer can arrest, Prayer can punish, prayer can diagnose, prayer can cloth, prayer can glorify, prayer can polish, prayer can ignite and prayer can activate.

Many pray, many don’t understand, a man can be faced with 5 battles because he does not have a prophet, he cannot discern this is battle 1, battle 2 e.t.c. He prays general prayers and life remains stagnant.

The awesomeness of the power of prayer is yet to be revealed to this generation.

The time will come, that the most important thing you need in this world is for God to answer ur prayers.

The tragedy of our days is not unanswered prayers: It is unoffered prayers!

Prayer is the greatest power on earth.
Prayer is the key to good treasure house.
Prayer is the only thing that we do in church the devil cannot do.

Prayer don’t die
A man who prays has nothing to fear.
Prayer is a unnatural activity.

Gods’ power can only flow to people who can pray

Exodus 17:8 – Moses prayed while Joshua fought.
God’s prevailing power is released through prayer.

Prayerless people are overwhelmed, prayerless people are over run, prayerless people are pushed around and defeated by the enemy.

Nothing is too great to pray about.
Nothing is too hard to pray about.

Prayer has won victory over the earth.
Prayer obtain a thing that seems impossible.

Prayer makes the sun to stand still.
In the bible, prayer brought fire from the sky.
Prayer never perish.

The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much. There must be righteousness in your prayer.

[God] comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. – 2 Corinthians 1:4

Today’s Scripture & Insight: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7

When Siu Fen discovered she had kidney failure and would need dialysis for the rest of her life, she wanted to give up. Retired and single, the longtime believer in Jesus saw no point in prolonging her life. But friends convinced her to persevere and go for dialysis and trust in God to help her.

Two years later, she found her experience coming into play when she visited a friend from church with a debilitating disease. The woman felt alone, as few could truly understand what she was going through. But Siu Fen was able to identify with her physical and emotional pain and could connect with her in a personal way. Her own journey enabled her to walk alongside the woman, giving her a special measure of comfort others couldn’t. “Now I see how God can still use me,” she said.

It can be hard to understand why we suffer. Yet God can use our affliction in unexpected ways. As we turn to Him for comfort and love in the midst of trials, it also empowers us to help others. No wonder Paul learned to see purpose in his own suffering: It gave him the opportunity to receive God’s comfort, which he could then use to bless others (2 Corinthians 1:3–­5). We’re not asked to deny our pain and suffering, but we can take heart in God’s ability to use it for good.

INTRODUCTION:

A man is incomplete without his eyesight. He finds it difficult to dominate or fulfill purpose(s). Gen 1:28. The eye is a very important part of the body because it is the body’s camera. In addition to vision, the eye also provides depth perception and contributes to the man’s balance. — Matt. 6:22.

1. TYPE AND USEFULNESS OF THE EYES

The eyes can be categorised into three. The first is the physical eyes attached to the body. Anyone without the physical eyes is seriously handicapped because the eye is the light of the body (Luke 11:36; John 9:1). The second is the eye of the soul, also known as ‘the eyes of understanding’ (Ephesians 1:18). These eyes are so vital that they could make the difference between salvation and perdition. When the Gospel is preached, many people find it difficult to understand how the death of ‘someone’ over 2000 years ago could secure eternity in Heaven for them. To believe that salvation is not by works but free is because your eyes of understanding is enlightened.

The third category is the spiritual eye which enables you to see into the realm of the spirit. It makes you see what no ordinary eye can see (2Kings 2:11-12). Those who see into the realm of the spirit receive impartation and get what they desire. Usually, the physical eye sees problems, while the spiritual eye sees the solution (2 Kings 6:15-17, John 11:22-23). If you are always seeing in the physical but never see in the spiritual, you will be far from solutions (Job 2:9). Those whose spiritual eyes are opened always see solutions right within the problem (Job 19:25). In 2Kings 2:11, Elisha would not have received the double portion of anointing from Elijah if his spiritual eyes were not opened. Any believer who is spiritually blind will not be able to see into the realm of the spirit and have a glimpse of Heaven (Isaiah 6:1-6, Luke 9:32-33).

2. DANGERS OF NOT HAVING COMPLETE EYESIGHT

It is dangerous to be without physical sight like the man in John 9:1-7. The blind cannot enjoy the beauty of nature. Walking is seriously hampered and collision is inevitable. Many times blind people remain on the same spot (Mark 10:46, John 9:8). They may be hindered from fulfilling the purpose for which they were born. When the gospel is preached, those whose eyes of understanding are darkened will find it difficult to believe that Jesus is God and through Him they can find everlasting life (Acts 28:26-28, Ephesians 1:18). Their end is death.

CONCLUSION
Without a complete eyesight, you cannot have total vision. The race of such a Christian will be tedious and unexciting. If your spiritual eyes are always open, not only will your problems be solved, you will become an answer to the problem of others.

12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

Open Heaven 3 March 2019 Sunday MESSAGE:

Several times in the Bible, virtue or power is transferred from a source to a recipient through a touch. We also see through the Bible that there are different kinds of touches. There is the touch of life, and there is the touch of sin and death. We also find the touch of healing and the touch of sickness. For example, when God’s breath of life touched the lifeless body of the man whom He formed out of the dust of the earth, he became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). In like manner, when the devil was permitted by God to touch Job with the touch of sickness, Job became grievously sick to the point of death. Thank God that the touch of healing was given to override the touch of sickness. Are you sick in your body? The Lord will touch you with His healing touch today in Jesus’ Name. The Lord Jesus in John 10:10 said:

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

In other words, the devil came to touch humanity with all kinds of sicknesses, but Jesus came with His healing touch to recue us from them all. Praise God! However, it is amazing that some children of God do not know their Father the way they ought to know Him. They trust Him for all manner of things, including the most costly of them all, which is the salvation of their souls, yet they find it difficult to trust Him for the healing of their bodies.

With the prevalence of several incurable diseases, children of God need to begin to trust God for His healing touch. This is necessary because from time immemorial, man’s best efforts to cure diseases and sicknesses have always been limited in impact, and millions are still suffering incurably today. The woman with the issue of blood is an example of someone who suffered a great deal from an incurable disease. Mark 5:25-26 says this about her:

“25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,”

She remained in this condition until her touch of faith drew the healing touch of the Master into her life. Today’s Bible reading tells of another woman who was sick for eighteen years. She encountered the healing touch of the Master and was made whole. Beyond this, today’s memory verse assures us that if only we believe, we can even graduate from being healed to becoming agents of healing. I pray that this will be your testimony in Jesus’ Name.
