Open Heaven 18 February 2019 – Principle of Divine Multiplication

Open Heaven 18 February 2019 Monday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Principle of Divine Multiplication

Topic: Principle of Divine Multiplication (Open Heaven 18 February 2019)

Memorise: “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”- 2 Corinthians 9:6

Read: Genesis 26:12-14 (KJV)

12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

Bible in One Year: John 18-19, Isaiah 42:1-17

Open Heaven 18 February 2019 Monday MESSAGE:

From the beginning of creation, multiplication has been central to the purpose and agenda of God for humanity. The Lord in His infinite wisdom specifically chose His words when He proclaimed His first blessing upon mankind in Genesis 1:28, saying:

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

God deliberately started His proclamation with “Be fruitful”. What does it mean to be fruitful? Fruitfulness is actually a form of multiplication, because when a single seed of corn or a tiny portion of some other crop is planted, at the time of harvest it usually brings forth multiple folds of what was planted. Amazingly, after God proclaimed “Be fruitful”, He thereafter commanded the multiplied fruits to be multiplied again, culminating in what is known as progressive multiplication. Surprisingly, God didn’t stop there; He went ahead to make another related decree, saying “Replenish the earth”. This implies that after getting to the end of a process, there is a need to make preparations for beginning the process all over again. To replenish the earth is to nourish and prepare the ground to produce and accommodate future harvests successfully.

Consequently, God’s principle of divine multiplication can be said to be multidimensional. Let’s consider a few of the dimensions that can usher one into the realm of divine multiplication. The first of these is thanksgiving. If you want to be blessed, learn to offer quality thanksgiving to God for His love and mercy, goodness and favor. Sing praises to God for who He is: the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Ancient of days, and the Lord of Hosts. You cannot praise and worship God enough; therefore, keep spending quality time praising Him. The second aspect of the principle of multiplication is giving. Giving involves providing for the less privileged in our society, paying tithes and offerings, sponsoring the propagation of the gospel of Jesus, and getting involved in the work of ministry. Giving is a time tested aspect of the principle of multiplication, confirmed by the Lord Himself in Luke 6:38. The third dimension of multiplication is to be a diligent worker. God promised in several passages of the Bible to bless the work of our hands (Deuteronomy 12:7, Psalm 1:3). God does not bless emptiness (Proverbs 21:25, 2 Thessalonians 3:10)! Christians must have a livelihood and be committed to working hard before they can hope for multiplication. The fourth dimension of the principle of multiplication is holy living and prayer (Philippians 4:6). Finally, do not be satisfied with the grace that you already have. Be thankful for it but don’t go to sleep over past successes. Believe God and serve Him in holiness, and God’s principle of progressive multiplication will begin to operate in your life today in Jesus’ Name.

Father, let Your principle of progressive multiplication begin to work for me in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 18 February 2019 Monday Hymn 1: There Shall Be Showers Of Blessings

1. There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.

Chorus:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

2. There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

3. There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.

4. There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

5. There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.

Rhapsody of Realities 18 February 2019 – Speaking Wisdom

Rhapsody of Realities 18 February 2019 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome – Speaking Wisdom

Topic: Speaking Wisdom

Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect…we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory (1 Corinthians 2:6-7).

God expects you to constantly renew your mind with the Word, so you can think, talk, and live the higher life in Christ. In this higher life, we speak wisdom; and the wisdom of God is the Word of God.

For example, you may be feeling stressed or faint, yet you affirm, “I have the life of God in me!” The people of the world and the spiritually immature can’t get in on this kind of talk; they don’t understand the wisdom of God that we speak, because it’s not in their plane.

Consider this: God said to Abraham, “Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee” (Genesis 17:5). The man knew those words were the wisdom of God for it was naturally impossible for him to have a child, being almost one hundred years old, with an equally old, barren wife.

Nevertheless, he immediately aligned his confession with the wisdom of God and started introducing himself to everyone by his new name, “Abraham,” which means “father of many.” He didn’t care if the people laughed him to scorn; he maintained his confession of God’s wisdom and sure enough, Isaac was born.

As you meditate on God’s Word, continue to declare the things He has said concerning you, irrespective of the prevalent natural circumstances. It makes no difference if the theorists have said the disease is incurable; keep affirming, “Christ is my life! Christ makes me whole; Christ makes me sound! Christ in me means divine health! His divine presence makes me indomitable, refreshed, invigorated, and energised.”

Do this every day, interjecting it with speaking in tongues; and I guarantee you, that sickness will pass out of your body in no time. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I’m what God says I am! I’m like a tree planted by the riverside, bringing forth fruits in and out of season! I’m more than a conqueror, because the greater One lives in me. Christ is my life, and His glory is revealed in, and through me. Hallelujah.

Pray for Bethel Baptist Church

Location: Oakway, South Carolina

Interim Pastor: Tony Smith

Weekly Worship: 10:00 AM, Eastern

Fast Facts: Bethel Baptist Church is a part of the Oakway, SC, community and hosts an outstanding Vacation Bible School each summer for children through adults. They celebrate the kickoff of Vacation Bible School with a community-wide fireworks, hotdog, and bouncy house event that we also pair as their Independence Day celebration. Please pray for the church leadership team as they get closer to voting on some changes they are looking to make. Their biggest prayer is for the revitalization they are in the midst of. The church has seen significant decline in numbers and is working hard to facilitate change in a traditional church. Please pray for them during these uncertain times that they may have joy and press on toward what God is revealing to them

Academics to look into why Choral Evensong is so popular

Although there are often stories of the rural church being in decline, the popularity of cathedral attendance, particularly at Christmas, has increased.

The most recent statistics on Church of England Cathedrals specifically from 2017 show midweek service attendance changed from a total of 7,000 people attending per week in the year 2000 to just over 18,000 people per week in 2017.

A survey to look into the reasons why people are attracted to evensong has now been launched by University of Oxford musicologist Kathryn King.

The doctoral researcher at Magdalen College will be asking: “Who is going to Choral Evensong? Who’s not going? What does it mean to them? What does it do for them? Why now?

“And what can understanding these motives and experiences add to our understanding of the role of cathedral music in the 21st century?”

She cites an increase of 35 per cent in evensong attendance since 2007 and the listener data for BBC Radio 3’s Choral Evensong, showing its highest audience levels in the programme’s 92-year history, as a catylist for her curiosity.

Her research methods will combine insights from music psychology, using the congregations of two cathedrals and an Oxford college; interviews and focus groups and a programme of psychological and physiological ‘experiments’.

Her project will include an immersive Evensong experience, which…

Christian leaders in Cuba under pressure to endorse new constitution

The referendum is due to happen on 24th February.

High ranking communist party officials summoned Christian, Yoruba and Masonic leaders in Santiago on Tuesday for assurance that they and their congregations would all be voting to adopt the new constitution.

Religious leaders elsewhere in the country have told the freedom charity Christian Solidarity Worldside (CSW) that they had been summoned to similar meetings in the past week.

They are concerned about supporting it as the draft looks like it could significantly reduce protections for freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) and it weakens references to freedom of conscience.

One church leader told CSW that “all [the Communist Party of Cuba leaders] wanted was to intimidate us because they thought that we were going to openly promote a no vote. In my eyes, it was a meeting to attempt to pressure us, I think they are very worried.”

These meetings occured after several church denominations have criticised the new constitution openly.

The Eastern Baptist Convention, the Methodist Church of Cuba and the Assemblies of God, as well as from the Cuban Catholic Bishops Conference have all said they have concerns about freedom of conscience potentially being taken out.

The Catholic bishops wrote: “we regret the absence of recognition of the diversity of political opinion (see article 40), as well as the need to…

‘The Perfect Sunday’ doesn’t include church

The ‘Perfect Sunday’ compiled by people’s answers in a survery by Onepoll, involved: waking at 8:30am to the smell of breakfast cooking, a cuddle and three hours of television.

A quarter of Brits thought an ideal weekend morning starts with a full English breakfast in bed and a third wanted to start their Sunday morning with a cup of tea or coffee, before pottering around the house for an hour.

The perfect roast is said to be best served at 3:15pm with, ideally, four people.

Other activities Brits enjoy doing on Sunday include reading a book, listening to music and doing some gardening.

Nearly one in 10 said they spend their Sunday afternoon at the pub, while one in seven think Sundays are made for doing the big food shop to keep the cupboards stocked for the rest of the week.

Attending church did not appear in the poll, Graham Nicholls from Affinity, a network of evangelical churches, told Premier: “I suppose I was sad that attending a gathering of God’s people, in a church, wasn’t kind of anywhere on the majority of people’s lists.

“The sad thing for me is not just that it means that they’re not hearing the gospel, they’re not coming to an encounter with God, but it’s also that churches are great places for taking our famililes, for making friendships and for learning who we are and why we’re here,

“I’d love it if, included in the list of things we want to do on…

Global church urged to pray for students

Student Sunday, known internationally as the Universal Day of Prayer for Students, is one of the oldest global ecumenical days of prayer and recognises the contribution of students to the life of the church.

It aims to highlight the specific challenges facing students and their need for prayer and practical support.

Alex Ackhurst, a third year music Christian student at Durham University and member of the National Student Movement told Premier why students’ unique time in life needs prayer: “When I came to university I’d never really lived in a city before and I was quite a homebird…some people come to university from another country or in another culture, or perhaps they come to a town where accessibilty is a problem,

“It is a time of transition and actually the whole period, if you take the life of an undegradute, and even someone who’s going on to post graduate studies, it’s never a completely settled period, it’s a time of change and transformation”.

Ackhurst said it was a chance to challenge and discover things about oneself but that also made it a vulnerable period.

“I think certainly in our student Christian groups we try not to shy away from difficult issues and issues of faith and theology but I don’t know whether it’s necessarily a difficult place to be a a Christian or whether it’s a difficult place and a difficult time to be a person”.

Hilary Topp, National Coordinator of the Student Christian Movement added: “Students have a vital role to…
