Alabama Pastor Warns about a “Spirit of Witchcraft” Attacking President Trump

An Alabama pastor called on Christians to pray for President Trump because of the “witchcraft” coming against him. John Kilpatrick, the pastor of Church of His Presence in Daphne, issued the call during a sermon on August 19th.

In the sermon clip, which has now been viewed over 250,000 times, Kilpatrick read 2 Kings 9:22 told his congregation, “When Elijah faced Jezebel, he was facing witchcraft…What’s happening right now in America, is witchcraft’s trying to take this country over. It’s witchcraft that’s trying to take America back over.”

Then Kilpatrick issued his call to pray for the President, saying, “I am not being political, but I don’t see how President Trump bears up under it. He is as strong as I’ve ever seen a man be. But here’s what the Holy Spirit said to me last night and what He said for me to tell you. He said, ‘Tell the church that so far, Trump has been dealing with Ahab. But Jezebel’s fixing to step out from the shadows.’ That’s what the Lord said to me.”

Kilpatrick continued to tell what he says the Holy Spirit told him, “He said, ‘Pray for him now, because he said there’s about to be a shift, and the Deep State is about to manifest, and it’s going to be a showdown like you can’t believe.’ So, I’m coming to you as a prophet, as a man of God, and I’m telling you, it’s time to pray for the president.”

Church closes after enduring months of Islamist attacks

Pastor Moreen Sanyu of Greater Love Church – just outside Uganda’s capital Kampala, told Morning Star News about being left unconscious when she was hit by a stone thrown through the church’s window.

“I fell down and became unconscious. When I woke up, there were only a few members who surrounded me – the rest of the church members had fled in different directions.”

She had to spend two days in hospital as a result of her injury before she was discharged.

Sanyu said no one turned up to the church’s service the following Sunday as they were afraid.

The church is based in a predominantly Muslim area and Sanyu explained, before the attacks began, up to 400 people used to join her to worship at the church.

An Islamic teacher told the news service that covers the persecution of Christians why some of the Islamic community do not tolerate the church.

“We cannot watch our children joining infidels’ church,” said the sheikh, who requested anonymity.

“The pastor has no respect for other people’s religion, especially our innocent and immature children in Islamic faith.”

Uganda’s constitution and other laws provide for religious freedom, including the right to propagate one’s faith and convert from one religion to another.

Muslims make up less than 12 per cent of Uganda’s population.

Is the “Big One” coming?

A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Oregon yesterday.

The earthquake followed an intense week of seismic activity in which the “Ring of Fire” was rocked by sixty-nine quakes in just forty-eight hours. (The “Ring of Fire” stretches 25,000 miles clockwise around the Pacific Ocean from New Zealand to the southern part of South America.)

Whenever such seismic activity occurs in the region, journalists speculate that the “Big One” may be coming. This is a reference to an earthquake of 8-magnitude or higher that is expected to occur along the San Andreas Fault. Such a quake could strike San Francisco, Los Angeles, or other populated areas on the West Coast.

Seismologists say we’re overdue for such a disaster. One states, “There is a 99.9% chance that there will be a damaging quake (magnitude greater than or equal to 6.7) somewhere in California in the next 30 years.”

“The whole world lies in the power of the evil one”

If you don’t live along the California coast and think such warnings are irrelevant to you, consider these facts:

I live in Dallas, Texas, where we are at risk from everything on the list. Are you exempt from natural disasters where you live?

When such tragedies strike, people always want to know why the God who made our planet allows such calamities to afflict his creation. We can respond with the fact that our world is broken as a result of sin (Romans 8:22), remembering that there were no natural disasters in the Garden of Eden. We can also point out that “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19), an enemy who “comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10).

But the skeptic is likely to counter: Why…

Pastor Brunson’s lawyer says he’ll appeal Turkey’s decision to not release him

Brunson has been detained in Turkey since October 2016, accused of trying to overthrow the Turkish government. He denies all charges and is currently under house arrest.

However, the pastor has now become somewhat of a political pawn in international relations – being seen as a bargaining chip between America and Turkey amidst retaliatory tariffs and sanctions and Turkey’s desire for the release of their own political figure, Fethullah Gülen.

America first imposed sanctions on Turkey for the release of Brunson, which caused the Turkish currency, the lira, to lose a third of its value against the American dollar.

Over the weekend, America rejected an offer from Turkey to release Brunson because it was on the condition of them bailing out the Turkish bank Hallbank. Turkish President Erdogan said he believes the US are targeting their economy deliberately.

The court rejected a release request last week from Brunson’s lawyer Ismail Cem Halavurt.

Halavurt told Turkey’s Hurriyet newspaper that once that decision was in writing he would pursue the route of appeal and possibly take it to the European Court of Human Rights.

“We are hopeful regarding the constitutional court, but if it is rejected there, we will go to the European Court of Human Rights without hesitation,” he added.

Jeremy Corbyn meets Christian asylum seekers facing deportation

Mr Corbryn has called for Somer and Areeb Umeed Bakhsh, who attend Possilpark Parish Church, to be allowed to stay in Glasgow with their family.

“Let’s put the h word – human – into our processes,” he said.

“Somer and Areeb are wonderful boys, have made great achievements in school and have wonderful parents.”

On Wednesday Mr Corbyn and Scottish Labour Party leader Richard Leonard spent around an hour with the boys and their parents, listening to their story, and those of many other asylum seekers supported by the Church of Scotland.

Almost 83,000 people have signed an online petition calling on the Home Office  not to deport the 15-year-old ad 13-year-old.

They fear they will be killed by Islamic extremists if they are forced to return to Pakistan.

Somer and Areeb have lived in Glasgow with their parents since their family fled the Muslim country in 2012 after their father was subjected to death threats due to his Christian faith.

However, according to the Church of Scotland, the UK Government has repeatedly rejected the family’s plea for asylum, largely because officials do not believe they would be at risk.

Pakistan carries the death penalty for blasphemy.

“I urge the Home Secretary to stop the hostile environment and recognise the human value of those who have decided to make their homes in this country because of the oppression they face back…

How Run-down Facilities Can Exacerbate the Decline in a Church

SUBSCRIBE TODAY: iTunes • RSS • Stitcher • TuneIn Radio • Google Play

Facility issues can stall or hinder church growth. Today, we discuss five reasons church facilities can cause decline in your church.

Today’s Listener Question:

FROM MATT

I’m a bivocational pastor at a normative size church. The church has grown a little and we’re to the point where we have to decide if we bring on more bivocational staff (music and kids ministries are volunteer led) or use funds to start upgrading facilities. My gut reaction is that we upgrade the facilities, keep growing, and then hire the staff, but some of my deacons say the opposite. Staff first, then facilities. Help!

Episode Highlights:

  • A run-down church facility tells the community that “we don’t care.”
  • Families will be turned off by run-down or dirty church facilities because they will be worried about the safety of their kids.
  • Churches should be a place of hope in their communities.
  • Do what it takes to get rid of the distractions in your church facility so that people can focus on worship and discipleship.

The five reasons we discuss are:

  1. It communicates to the community “we don’t care”
  2. Parents are fearful of bringing their children
  3. It creates ill will in the neighborhood
  4. It demoralizes the congregation
  5. It is a distraction to the congregation

Joyce Meyer’s Daily 23 August 2018 Devotional — A Wondering Mind

Topic: A Wondering Mind [Joyce Meyer’s Devotional Thursday August 23, 2018]

In the morning, when they were passing along, they noticed that the fig tree was withered [completely] away to its roots. And Peter remembered and said to Him, Master, look! The fig tree which You doomed has withered away! And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly]. Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. — Mark 11:20-24 (AMPC)

When you say the words, “I wonder,” they sound innocent and honest. They also represent the way we avoid certainty in making decisions.

Suppose you’re the CEO of a business. Every day twenty people come to your office and ask you to make decisions. Yours is the final answer on everything that goes on in the corporation. Instead of giving decisive answers, you rub your chin, stare out the window, and say, “I wonder. I wonder what we should do about that?”

An indecisive CEO wouldn’t stay in that position very long. The position is much too important to the overall success and well-being of the organization and all who are associated with it. You are not in that position to wonder—you’re there to act.

Too many of us forget that this is the way it is with the Christian life, as well. Too often, instead of choosing what we need to do, we avoid facing the situation and say, “I wonder.”

I know because I’ve done it. In times past, when I’ve been invited to a party or to be the featured speaker at a banquet, I’ve said, “I wonder what I should wear.” It’s easy for me to waste a lot of time looking through my closet, considering the color and style, as I try to choose just the right outfit for a particular occasion.

This may seem like such a small thing—and it really is. The problem, however, is that if we allow enough of these “wonderings” in our lives, we not only fail to accomplish the things we need to do, but wondering becomes the normal way our minds function. Being indecisive keeps us from moving forward and can eventually defeat us.

In the verses quoted earlier, the incident started with a fig tree that wasn’t bearing fruit. The disciples could have wasted time wondering about the particulars of why the tree didn’t bear fruit. They could have wondered if it hadn’t received enough sunlight or water. They might have wondered why the owner hadn’t cut it down since it wasn’t productive. But wasting time wondering really wasn’t necessary.

When Jesus spoke and doomed the tree, He put a stop to any mental speculation. He used the incident as an object lesson for the disciples, encouraging them to believe. He wanted them to understand that if they truly believed, they could have whatever they asked of Him.

Sometimes God’s people are reluctant to ask boldly for big things. But Jesus has given us permission to step out in faith and ask boldly. And yet some still waste time just wondering. They wonder what it would be like if God would give them a better job. They wonder what it would be like if God would give them a larger house.

I can tell you that wondering is a waste of time. So, stop wondering and start acting! That’s one of the most important things I’ve learned about the wondering mind. Rather than wondering what I should wear to a banquet, I look at my clothes and I decide. God gave me the ability to make wise choices, so I can just do it instead of wasting my time wondering.

Wondering and indecision can become strongholds in our minds that can leave us feeling confused, insecure, and ineffective. But that’s not God’s plan. He wants us to overcome the wondering thoughts by believing and then receiving the answer to our prayers from God, by faith.

Notice that Jesus did not say, “Whatever things you wonder when you pray, you will have.” Instead, He said, Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].

Prayer Starter: Lord Jesus, help me to overcome any wondering tendencies that keep me from moving forward in Your good plan. In Your name, I ask You to help me reach out in faith, boldly asking for what I need. Then help me to believe it and receive it. Amen.

Activists urge Church to change tack on LGBT issues

Launching the Equal Future campaign in Dublin to coincide with the beginning of the World Meeting of Families (WMOF), campaigner Tiernan Brady said he wants to highlight the damage being done to children and young people.

The campaign is the largest global initiative of LGBT groups, including 60 countries worldwide.

Mr Brady said there is a “clear message” that members of the LGBT community were not welcome at the WMOF event in Dublin.

“We want to highlight the damage that is being done to children and young people as they grow up thinking that to be LGBT would be wrong, a disappointment or just bad luck but none of those are true,” he said.

“The sad truth is there is a clear message they are not welcome at the World Meeting of Families.

“LGBT looked to have stands and they were denied.

“Images of same-sex families were removed from all the material and I can’t think of a clearer message to show LGBT people you are not part

of this and you are not wanted in here.

“That’s not what Catholic people feel and it’s about time the upper management caught up with this.

“No child should ever grow up feeling they are less than others if they are or were to discern they are LGBT.”

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 23 August 2018

TOPIC: Christ First (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Thursday, 23 August 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 14:26-33

MEMORY VERSE: “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” – Matthew 16:26

The MESSAGE:

The average person is concerned with love for self, family and possessions. Anyone who places these before the Lord Jesus cannot be His disciple. Love for self is innate and is the primary concern of an unbeliever, but true disciples are devoted to Christ. You cannot claim to be a true disciple if it has not cost you something substantial. Every other thing becomes secondary while Christ becomes top priority. Jesus did not hide from those who wanted to follow Him, what it will cost them and what the grace of God would accomplish in a believer. He did not promise eternal life, which resides dormant in the human heart. He offered God’s grace, which brings a complete change by putting Christ’s new life in man. The old nature, which puts self, family and possessions first, is put off by a new nature. Christ comes to dwell within us so that our old Adam’s nature will no longer have uncontested control, even though it is not eliminated completely. Paul had this struggle between the victorious nature of Christ within him and the sin that still dwelt in him. This is why he said, “It is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me” (Romans 7:17).

When an unbeliever understands what will automatically take place in his or her life as a result of salvation, he or she may be honest enough to reject it as the rich young ruler who came to Jesus did (Matthew 19:16-22; Mark 10:17-22; Luke 18:18-23). Jesus told him what must happen in his life for him to receive Christ’s grace or eternal life: he must be willing to give up his possessions. Jesus knew that was not what the man wanted to hear, but that did not change His declaration of truth. Therefore, the man remained rich materially, but spiritually poor. He failed to put Jesus first.

When Jesus saves a person, He is expected to be first in that person’s life. Family and possessions can come later, and the person must be available for the use of God. The Lord Jesus Christ commands us to put Him first after which He will take care of us when He said, “But seek he first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you” ( Matthew 6:33). If we put Him first in our hearts and lives, we will always be winners. When Jesus Christ is first, you will be fully enjoy your family, your possessions and yourself. Put Jesus first today and let Him take care of you.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
THE LORD NEVER TAUGHT RECKLESS ABANDONMENT OF SELF, RELATIVES OR POSSESSIONS.

PROPHETIC WORD:
You will enjoy a life of physical and spiritual prosperity.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Power to set my priorities right, fall upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
2. Lord, I will love You with great deal and dedication, all the days of my life, in the name of Jesus.
3. Lord Jesus, give me the grace to carry my cross and follow You daily, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. I’ve made up my mind, I shall never turn my back against Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

Open Heavens 24 August 2018 – An Agent of Miracles?

Open Heavens 24 August 2018 Friday Daily Devotional by Pastor E A Adeboye – An Agent of Miracles?

Topic: An Agent of Miracles?

Memorise: “17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”– Mark 16:17-18

Read: Matthew 10:1-8 (KJV)

1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;

4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Bible in One Year: Psalm 57-63, Matthew 25:14-30

Open Heavens 24 August 2018 Friday MESSAGE:

We need to fully comprehend what our Lord meant when He said “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). More often than not, we think of giving as being limited to material things, and so we lose sight of the fact that we can also give spiritual blessings to others and make spiritual impact. The early apostles realised this truth and that was why Peter and John were not intimidated by their financial limitation (Acts 3:6). They gave from the spiritual deposits God placed in their lives. One of the attributes our Lord Jesus Christ bestowed upon His early disciples was the ability to perform miracles, and we should not be different. They were specifically commissioned by the Lord to go and perform miracles, Matthew 10:7-8 says:

“7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.”

It is a thing of unspeakable joy to receive a miracle. After I gave my life to Christ, the first notable benefit I received from God was victory over malaria that had hitherto plagued my life almost every month. The first month I did not fall sick was a month of celebration in my family. However, the joy of this cannot be compared to the joy I had the day the Lord first performed a miracle of healing through me. I almost jumped out of the window for joy when a dumb child spoke after I prayed for healing. Ever since then, the Lord has made this a continuous experience in my ministry. Countless miracles that may sound unbelievable have been performed by Him through our ministry. You cannot imagine the joy experienced by an agent of miracles, after God uses him or her to put smiles on the faces of several thousands of women who had been considered barren. Many times, some of my children would organise a dinner or luncheon for me, not only because they want to be generous to me, but because of the miracles that would follow from the encounter. I am full of joy when this happens. My prayer is that you also will become an agent of miracles today in Jesus’ Name. All you need to do is to surrender your life to Jesus and leave the rest to Him. He knows how He turned a fisherman into a fisher of men and an agent of miracles (Matthew 4:18-19, Acts 5:14-15). He also knows how He turned a person who was a danger to the Church into an apostle, whose apron could cast out demons (Acts 19:11-12). If you desire to graduate from being a consumer to an agent of performing miracles, He will fulfil the desire of your heart. Only believe!

Prayer Point: Open Heavens 24 August 2018 Friday

Father, please make me a channel of blessings and miracles today in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heavens 24 August 2018 Friday Hymn 18: Conqueror and Overcomers Now Are We

1. Conquerors and overcomers now are we,
Thro’ the precious blood of Christ we’ve victory
If the Lord be for us we can never fail,
Nothing ‘gainst His mighty power can e’er prevail.

Chorus
Conquerors are we, thr’o the blood of Jesus
God will give us victory, thro’ the blood of Jesus
Through the Lamb for sinners slain,
Yet who lives and reigns again,
More than conquerors are we,
More than conquerors are we.

2. In the name of Israel’s God we’ll onward press,
Overcoming sin and all unrighteousness;
Not to us but unto Him the praise shall be,
For salvation and for blood bought victory.

3. Unto Him that overcometh shall be given,
Here to eat of hidden manna sent from Heaven,
Over yonder He the victors palm shall bear,
And a robe of white, and golden crown shall wear.
