Over the weekend, Pope Francis stressed the importance of fellowship between God and one another in a message of unity and gratitude.

“Now more than ever the claim to focus everything on ourselves is illusory – to make individualism the guiding principle of society has proved to be illusory,” Francis said on Saturday at the Vatican, according to the Catholic News Agency.

His audience included those hit the hardest by COVID-19 in Italy: physicians, healthcare workers, clerics, civil authorities and representatives of the mountain infantry from Lombardy.

The Pontifex cautioned that it would be easy to return “into this illusion” of individualism following the pandemic.

“It is easy to quickly forget that we need others, someone who takes care of us, who gives us courage. Forgetting that we all need a Father who holds out his hand,” he shared.

Francis then asserted that praying to God is “not an illusion.”

He added, “Prayer is the soul of hope.”

The Pope then urged the people to rebuild together on a foundation of love.

“In this way, we will be able to get out of this crisis spiritually and morally stronger; and this depends on the conscience and responsibility of each of us,” he stated. “Not alone, however, but together and with the grace of God.”

One man from Texas is calling for a change in America that goes beyond protesting.

Jerry Roberts, who works as a facilities maintenance manager at a farm in Texas, recently shared a message titled “What are you talking about?” on his Facebook page which has garnered more than 4 million views at the time of this writing.

“Protesting isn’t going to change anybody. Protesting is not gonna change anything,” Roberts asserted in the video, according to CBN News.

President Trump warned supporters Saturday during a rally in Tulsa, Okla., that Joe Biden will fund abortion with taxpayer money and nominate “extreme” justices to the Supreme Court if elected.

It was the first political rally since the coronavirus outbreak for Trump. He spoke about an hour and 45 minutes and covered multiple topics, including social issues and free speech.

Dr. Voddie Baucham, who currently serves as the Dean of Theology at African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia, addressed the current issue of social justice on Glenn Beck’s program on Thursday.

Beck, who learned of Baucham through his message entitled “Ethnic Gnosticism,” discussed the matter further with Baucham in a Skype interview.

Faithwire reports that Baucham’s coined phrase “Ethnic Gnosticism” is similar to Gnosticism which is derived from the Greek, “gnosis” or “having secret knowledge.

He explained to Beck that “Ethnic Gnosticism” is defined as the “idea that black people (and other ethnicities including white people as well) have the ability to possess secret knowledge of motive, intent, and goals in specific situations such as the recent cases involving police officers and black men.”

 For Baucham, he believes that the term contradicts The Gospel as “our knowledge comes from God,” who is the source of all knowledge.

Baucham also noted that Scripture must be the source we use “to understand truth” and how “we look at the world.”

The Trump Justice Department sided in court Friday with a new Idaho law that prevents biological males who identify as female from playing on girls’ teams.

The new Idaho law, called the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, requires biological sex – and not gender identity – to be used in determining who plays on high school and college teams. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is challenging the law in court.

The Justice Department filed a Statement of Interest in federal court Friday defending the law, saying it aligns with the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause because it ensures female athletes are on a level playing field with males.

“The Equal Protection Clause does not require States to abandon their efforts to provide biological women with equal opportunity to compete for, and enjoy the life-long benefits that flow from, participation in school athletics in order to accommodate the team preferences of transgender athletes,” the Statement of Interest says. “Put differently, the Constitution does not require Idaho to provide the special treatment Plaintiffs request, under which biological males are allowed to compete against biological females if and only if the biological males are transgender.”
