A gunman entered a Denver-area Walmart on Wednesday evening and carried out an attack. Three people were killed in the shooting.
According to FoxNews.com, the suspect, Scott Ostrem, 47, has been taken into custody after a manhunt was underway. Police located Ostrem about 10 miles from the Thornton Walmart where he carried out the deadly shooting.
Ostrem reportedly entered the Walmart just after six p.m. on Wednesday and “nonchalantly” began shooting at customers.
One shopper who was a witness to the shooting told FOX31, “I was just picking up my last item and about to head towards the checkout. Heard two slow pops that sounded like they were coming from the front checkout area and then started to run as about four more shots rang out a little faster. At that point everyone was just running and screaming.”
Several Walmart employees rushed to the back room of the store after the shots were fired, and then later escaped out the back door.
Another eyewitness recalled the chaos that followed the shooting: “The employees started screaming. Customers were screaming. They were running like crazy, and I ran out too because I didn’t want to get killed,” said Aaron Stephens.

Only 1.5 percent of Syrian refugees granted refugee status by Western countries in 2016 were Christians.
The charity Barnabas Fund said the United Nations has “failed miserably” to protect those refugees— of which many are Christians.
“This is shocking behavior by the U.N. and U.K. officials,” said Barnabas Fund’s Martin Parsons in an interview with Express.
“In 2005 the U.N. adopted the responsibility of states to protect citizens from genocide and crimes against humanity. These statistics show that it has failed miserably in this. Christians and other minorities have been treated shamefully by the U.N. And the U.K. has outsourced its own responsibilities in spite of repeated representations.”
According to figures recently released from the charity, Christians make up about 10 percent of Syria’s population.
In the United States, only 125 of the 15,479 Syrian refugees admitted into the U.S. were Christians.
In the United Kingdom, the country sheltered more than 8,000 refugees in 2015 and 2016, but only 70 were Christians. There were only 22 Yazidis, another religious minority.

His Most Godly Beatitude Theophilus III, who is touring the UK said that rules protecting the rights of Jews and Christians to live together and access holy places, are being undermined.
In a statement recorded at Premier, he explained what had prompted his visit.
He said: “We have been mandated by all the church leaders in the holy land to share our story and raise awareness of the challenges we are facing as a Christian community in Jerusalem.
“Recently we have seen the emergence of a trend that threatens to undermine the Christian presence and destabilise the peace of the holy city of Jerusalem.
“The ‘status quo’ rules, that has guaranteed the rights of Jews, Christians and Muslims to live, flourish and thrive together in Jerusalem for centuries is in grave danger. This code, that has safeguarded our religious freedoms and provided access to the most holy places for all people, is being dangerously undermined.”
He said members of the national legislature of Israel (Knesset), last July signed a proposed bill for debate in the Israeli parliament, which if passed, will severely restrict the rights of the Churches to deal freely and independently with their lands. He added that it could also lead to their land being confiscated.

It’s going down as one of the hardest fought, most thrilling World Series of all time, and Houston is celebrating. Fireworks and loud cheers lit up the city Wednesday night, as the Astros claimed their first World Series title in franchise history, defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7, 5-1.
CNN reports, “Houston started the game off fast, scoring all of its five runs in the first two innings off Dodgers starter Yu Darvish. The early run support was all the Astros needed.”
“We’re coming home a champion, Houston,” George Springer said after accepting the World Series MVP trophy named this year for Willie Mays.
The now famous Sports Illustrated cover of 2014, after Houston had lost more than 100 games for three straight years, proclaimed: “Your 2017 World Series Champs.” It featured a picture of Springer in a bright Astros jersey.
“The Astros hit rock bottom, and then some, before beginning one of the best turnarounds in memory,” notes CBSSports.com.

Leaders from the American Pastors Network (APN) are urging U.S. Christians to support Israel. The pastors are also planning a trip to the Holy Land.
According to .News.com, APN President Sam Rohrer, along with “Stand in the Gap Today” co-hosts Gary Dull of the Pennsylvania Pastors Network (PPN) and Dave Kistler of the North Carolina Pastors Network (NCPN), have made it a priority to inform their listeners of today’s news, especially as it relates to Israel.
“News from Israel should be extremely critical to Christians,” said Rohrer. “And the importance of Israel to today’s Christian leaders cannot be overstated. The simple reason we must support the state of Israel is because God does. The Jews are His chosen people, and He gave His promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that He would not only bless them but also bless every nation that blesses them and curse every nation that curses them. Throughout history, God has miraculously protected the Jewish people although the nations around them have sought to annihilate them.
