Even a Planned Parenthood-Backed Study Acknowledges Lower Abortion Rate


A study undertaken by the federal government and the Planned Parenthood-associated Guttmacher Institute has shown that the abortion rate has dropped significantly in recent years.


OneNewsNow.com reports that the study revealed that the abortion rate dropped 25 percent between 2008 and 2014.


Pro-life advocates, of course, rejoice at this good news, but they also point out that abortion supporters fail to recognize the impact of the pro-life movement and instead attribute the lower abortion rate to improved contraception use.


Instead, pro-lifers point out that there is renewed commitment to preserving the life of the unborn, which has resulted in such measures as parental involvement and informed consent legislation, as well as health safety regulations for abortion clinics.


“We’ve dropped across the board in every single demographic group,” said Dr. Randall K. O’Bannon of the National Right to Life Committee regarding the decreasing abortion rate, “whether it’s by age, whether it’s by race or whether it’s by education, whether it’s by economic level. And that’s good news so we’re encouraged by that part.” 


O’Bannon added, however, that abortions among minorities, and particularly African-Americans, still remain at high levels.

The nephew of Benny Hinn, who is a pastor in Southern California, is criticizing his uncle’s prosperity theology and teaching, explaining how it cost him personally as a member of the Hinn family. The theology his uncle espouses is “twisted,” he said.

In an HLN exclusive interview with Carol Costello, Costi Hinn described growing up in the Hinn family as a hybrid of being a “royal family” (lavish riches) and the “mafia” (strict enforcement of the mafia).

“You keep to your own, you defend your own. You never, ever, regardless of what the truth might be, do anything to harm or expose at the expense of family. It’s just a tight-knit, tight-lipped community,” Hinn explained.

He recounted that the first time he ever said anything publicly about his family — as people had been asking — he got a phone call from a family member who told him “you need to pipe down, don’t talk about family.”

Hinn further explained that the luxurious way of life that he had was “living the dream,” with flights on a G4 or G5 private gulfstream airliners, layovers in Monte Carlo, and stays in a fancy hotel suites that cost $25,000 per night.

Christian chocolate factory launches children’s advent contest

The company’s asked for children to design the front of an advent calendar by taking inspiration from the Gospel accounts of the birth of Jesus.

David Marshall, director of the Meaningful Chocolate Company said the contest was inspired from their Real Easter Egg Campaign which asked entrants to depict the resurrection.

He told Premier: “We got some amazing pictures. We just thought it would be very interesting to see if they got the chance to design an advent calendar what they would include.

“It’s quite difficult because there are so many secular calendars out there.

“What we want to do is put the nativity characters on the front of an advent calendar… something you don’t find in the 99p Barbie advent calendar.”

The competition is open to schools, churches and children’s groups.

Marshall said since it’s open to everyone he hopes it will also serve as an evangelism tool.

He told Premier: “We’re hoping that in reading the Bible and the Gospels around Christmas that they will encounter the Christmas story.

“We know for example that quite often advent calendars are the first time children will encounter the Christmas story

“During those 24 days they’re learning more about advent, about Christmas, and at the end of those 24 days the children have learned something, and also quite often the parents go on the journey as well.

“So these advent calendars they sound quite superficial but actually they’re a great teaching tool.

Leading Vegetable Supplier Pulls Out Stocks from Supermarkets Due to Contamination Risks of Bacteria

Mann Packing, a leading vegetable supplier in California, has taken upon itself to recall its products that might have been contaminated with listeria.

According to reports, Mann Packing’s decision to recall its products has affected the stocks of multiple supermarkets across USA and Canada, including Walmart, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Meijer, Albertson’s and Safeway.

While there have been no illnesses linked to the recalled products, which were listed as “best if used by” October 11 to October 20, Mann Packing decided to pull out the products after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency picked up their contamination risk, thanks to its random sampling.

According to Food Safety, listeria is a type of bacteria found either in soil or water. However, it can also be present in some animals, especially in poultry animals and cattle. It can also be found in raw milk and food products made from which, and even in food processing plants where it can contaminate processed meats.

Unlike other bacteria, listeria displays a certain extent of resilience as it can even grow in cold temperatures, and the only way to kill it is through cooking and pasteurization.

Reports claim that, based on the records of U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), around 1,600 people in the United States get infected with listeria each year and around 260 from those infected dies. Although the symptoms of the bacteria are similar…

ISIS Targets Christian Town, Killing Scores of People, Including Children


Islamic State soldiers have reportedly killed “scores” of people, including women and children, in Qaryatayn, a town that was once predominantly Christian.


Syrian troops recaptured the city over the weekend, but found that ISIS had killed many civilians.


“These are people who don’t know God, they don’t know anything. They killed children and women with knives, they beat women, broke their arms,” a town resident said, speaking on condition of anonymity.


It’s unclear how many were killed. The Associated Press said 67 were killed, while Homs province Governor Tala Barazi told Reuters that “more than 60 were dead” and more than 100 are missing. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said some 128 people were killed.


Abdullah AbdulKarim, a former resident of the city, said the latest slaughter was revenge killing. His own uncle and two of his cousins were shot.


“They came into town with a hit list,” he said, adding that soldiers went door to door for weeks looking for people.


According to International Christian Concern, Qaryatayn was a predominantly Christian town until about 2015 when ISIS first captured the city.


The town has been recaptured and taken back between Syrian and ISIS forces many times. The town was finally recaptured again by ISIS earlier this month.

Christian rap artist tops the Billboard charts

The artist, whose real name is Nathan Feuerstein has said in a previous interview that he does not consider himself to be a Christian rapper. In an interview with HipHopDX, he said “I don’t know what a Christian rapper is.

“I’m just an artist who makes music for everybody.”

His music has featured on various TV shows including Empire, Chicago PD and Love & Hip Hop.  He dedicated his song “How Could You Leave Us” to his mother after she overdosed on drugs.

This accolade adds to his recently awarded Dove Award for the Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year for the song “Oh Lord”. The award winning track featured lyrics such as:

“Don’t ever tell me there’s no God.

“And if there isn’t then what are we here for?”

Similarly, American Christian hip hop artist Lecrae released Anomaly in 2014 which topped the Billboard charts in 2014 and went gold after selling the equivalent of half a million copies and earned him a Grammy nomination. He also preferred to describe himself as a rap artist who is a Christian rather than a Christian rap artist.

    A new book and movie showcases the irreplaceable effect a father has on his children, told from the perspective of a Texas man well-acquainted with the intense pain of being fatherless.

    John Finch, 49, was raised in a Dallas suburb with two older brothers, and lost his father to suicide when he was just 11. He spent his youth and young adulthood looking for fatherly affirmation through several worldly avenues, creating a false persona to try to heal the wound.

    This father-wound, he would come to call it, would govern his life for close to 30 years. Craving the blessing he never got from his dad, he pursued lucrative careers and making money, and had become a social alcoholic. All of it left him empty.

    Yet on Feb. 20, 2009, Finch had what is sometimes referred to as a “come-to-Jesus” experience when he surrendered everything to God.

    “I had just been struggling,” Finch said of that moment in a phone interview with The Christian Post about his book The Father Effect: Hope and Healing From a Dad’s Absence, which he co-authored with Blake Atwood.

    “My life had just really imploded. I say that God took to me to a place of brokenness. He took me to my knees.”
