10 Items Under $20 That Every Church Tech Booth Needs

One of my favorite places to be is in our church’s tech booth. If you work with video, audio, lighting, or any other kind of church media, you probably feel right at home in your production space, too.

After serving in church media roles for many years, I’ve discovered a few must-have items that make my job easier on Sundays. Having them within arm’s reach is part of what makes our production booth feel like home.

There’s nothing particularly fancy about these tools, but I’d recommend them to anyone working behind the scenes making their church services happen.

Here are 10 items that I believe are essential for a church tech booth:

1. A Power Strip With USB For Powering Your Gear

Having a couple of power strips throughout your booth is important, but having one easily accessible next to your workstation takes it to the next level. I love having the USB options for phones and tablets, too. This power strip is available from Amazon for $20

2. A Flash Drive For Quickly Transferring Files

There are many moments that will call for a quick file transfer from one computer to the next. I like to keep a couple of these in various sizes handy for presentations, videos, etc. This flash drive is available from Amazon for $13

The brightest supermoon of the year: A Holy Tuesday invitation to risk-taking faith that changes eternity

Many of us are praying for British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to recover from COVID-19 after he was moved to intensive care yesterday. As of this morning, he is not yet on a ventilator but is receiving oxygen support.

Meanwhile, the “biggest, brightest supermoon of 2020” is rising tonight. April’s full moon is a supermoon, meaning that it is full while also in perigee (its closest approach to us). During a supermoon, the moon is about 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than a normal full moon.

The April full moon is called the “pink moon” because it coincides with the blooming of the moss pink wildflower. The best time to view it will be tonight after the sun goes down.

A trick question and a transforming answer

On Holy Tuesday, Jesus returns to the now-cleansed temple to teach the people. His enemies cannot find a way to arrest him due to his popularity, so they try to lure him into committing blasphemy and defaming himself before the crowds.

Among their attempts is this question asked by a lawyer: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” (Matthew 22:36). If Jesus names one of their 613 laws, they will accuse him of rejecting the others.

Our Lord replies: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets” (vv. 37–40).

Focusing our moon on the Son

What does Jesus’ answer on Holy Tuesday have to do with the “biggest, brightest supermoon of 2020” that will appear tonight?

Tonight’s moon is a full moon because the sun, earth, and moon are on a direct line in that order so that the moon is fully visible to us. It is a supermoon because it is especially close to us, reflecting the sun’s light even more brightly onto our planet.

When we…

The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (RRT) is sending crisis-trained chaplains to New York City, to serve in conjunction with the Samaritan’s Purse Emergency Field Hospital that is being set up to treat COVID-19 (coronavirus) patients. According to a press release Franklin Graham, president of BGEA and Samaritan’s Purse, and his son Will Graham, who is vice president of BGEA, will both be on-site at BGEA to pray with the chaplains before they depart for New York City.

“People are dying from the coronavirus, hospitals are out of beds, and the medical staff are overwhelmed,” said Franklin Graham. “I’m thankful for all the companies and individuals across this country that are pulling together and doing their part in this battle.”

“The Real” Co-host Jeannie Mai and Rapper Jeezy Are Engaged

Jeannie Mai and Jeezy are engaged!

PEOPLE can exclusively reveal that the rapper/philanthropist popped the question to The Real co-host on March 27.

Jeezy (born Jay Wayne Jenkins), 42was originally planning to propose to Mai, 41, sometime in April during a previously planned trip to Vietnam. But due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which has restricted travel around the globe, he decided to surprise her with a proposal during a special date night at his home in Los Angeles.

“Jeannie and Jay were set for a trip to Vietnam this April. What Jeannie didn’t know is that Jay was planning to propose,” Mai’s rep tells PEOPLE. “Instead, Jay decided to bring Vietnam to Jeannie with a surprise quarantine date night in his home filled with Vietnamese food and decor.”

The couple, who met on the set of her daytime talk show, began quietly dating in November 2018 but didn’t take their romance public until the following August, when they walked the red carpet at a gala for his non-profit, Street Dreamz, arm-in-arm.

“We both went through enough in our life to connect on the understanding that love should feel safe, honest, and pure,” Mai told PEOPLE in November. “Immediately that was a magnetic attraction. We are very attracted to each other’s passions to serve. So because we have a mutual joy of having purpose, we’re going to find a way to do that together.”

The stars also spent Thanksgiving together for the first time in his hometown of Atlanta, where Mai mingled with Jeezy’s extended family and gave back by working with two local nonprofits.

“It was so wonderful to meet his family and be able to spend time together,” she said on The Real at the time. “It was special.”

PODCAST: Easter and the Plague: Nothing Has Changed About the Easter Story — Just Your Story, Part 2 with Daniel Whyte III

TEXT: Luke 19:28-40.

And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.

And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.

And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.

And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.

And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?

And they said, The Lord hath need of him.

And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.

And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.

And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.

And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

My friend, let me strongly urge you not to make the mistake of rejecting Jesus Christ – the King of glory. Don’t let the King pass by without you responding to him properly. If you have never responded to Jesus Christ, if you have never opened your heart to His gift of salvation, then you are still on your way to hell because somebody has to pay for your sins. Either you can pay for your sins in hell or you can receive the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ who died on the cross for your sins.

If you want to be delivered from your sin and the eternal punishment of sin, allow me to share with you from God’s Word how you can accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead to give to you.

John 3:16 reads, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

“For God so loved the world” means that if you are in the world, God loves you. No matter who you are, where you are, or what you have done, God loves you.

God loves you more than you love yourself. He loves you so much “that He gave His only begotten Son.” His only begotten son is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and for mine, He was buried, and on the third day, He rose from the dead.

“that whosoever believeth in Him”, whosoever means anybody at anytime, and of any race, any color, or any socio-economic status can believe on Jesus Christ.

“should not perish, but have everlasting life.” if you believe on Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you will not perish in hell, instead you will have everlasting life in heaven with God.

The Bible also says in Romans 10:9 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Dear friend, if you are willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, please pray with me this simple prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you believed in your heart that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, was buried, and rose again, allow me to say, congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour! For more information to help you grow in your newfound faith in Christ, go to Gospel Light Society.com and read “What To Do After You Enter Through the Door”. Jesus Christ said in John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

If you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior today, please email me at [email protected] and let us know. There is some free material that we want to send you. If you have a prayer request, please e-mail that to us as well, and we will pray for you until you tell us to stop.

God loves you. We love you. And may God bless you.

African Children’s Choir Founder Ray Barnett Calls for United Prayer for an End to Coronavirus Plague

As the world continues to deal with the unprecedented impact of the coronavirus outbreak, African Children’s Choir Founder Ray Barnett says it’s vital that believers come together in united prayer for a solution to this crisis.

“We need all Christians to pray for wisdom for doctors and nurses and for government officials. Pray for those who are scientists who are working for an antidote to the virus,” explains Ray.

He added: “This is critical and could lead to those who are in the medical field getting wisdom and knowledge in what to do.”

Ray, aged 83, who was raised in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, founded the African Children’s Choir in 1984. After hearing a radio broadcast discussing the 150,000 children starving to death in Northern Uganda, he felt compelled to help, and headed out to the affected area to see how he could make a difference.
