Christian Post Report – After more than a year without any new MacBook Air designs, Apple has now officially launched the 12-inch MacBook with Retina Display.
Compared to the Cupertino manufacturer’s other laptops, this will be the first time that it has used a 12-inch screen.
According to the report by GSM Arena, the ultraportable laptop packs a Retina display (2304 x 1440) resolution, as well as a much thinner frame. The device is 13.1mm thin at its thinnest point.
In the report, Apple has taken out most of the ports of the 11-inch MacBook Air and retained a single USB-C port that can now be used to charge the entire device. The 3.5mm headphone jack has also been retained to cover audiophile consumers.
In the design department, there are no huge changes aside from the all metal design and much thinner build caused by the new Intel M Broadwell chipset. The new chip does not have any fans, which enables Apple to develop a thinner and lighter laptop.
The new 12-inch MacBook with Retina Display only weighs 907 grams or just 2 lbs. The company’s well-loved keyboard has also been changed to a more precise design.
There are a number of possible pricing and specs options for the new MacBook. The 1.1GHZ/8GB RAM/256GB configuration costs $1299, while the higher end model (1.2GHz/8GB RAM/512GB) will be priced at $1599.
According to the report, the device will arrive in Apple’s usual color options: silver, space gray, and gold.
The new 12-inch MacBook with Retina Display will officially hit stores on April 10.
During Apple’s event today, the Cupertino manufacturer formally launched its Apple Watch as well.
