How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. Psalm 104:24

As an amateur photographer, I enjoy capturing glimpses of God’s creativity with my camera. I see His fingerprints on each delicate flower petal, each vibrant sunrise and sunset, and each cloud-painted and star-speckled sky canvas.

My camera’s powerful zoom option allows me to take photos of the Lord’s creatures too. I’ve snapped shots of a chattering squirrel in a cherry blossom tree, a colorful butterfly flitting from bloom to bloom, and sea turtles sunning on a rocky, black beach. Each one-of-a-kind image prompted me to worship my marvelous Maker.

I’m not the first of God’s people to praise Him while admiring His unique creations. The writer of Psalm 104 sings of the Lord’s many works of art in nature (v. 24). He regards “the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number” (v. 25) and rejoices in God for providing constant and complete care for His masterpieces (vv. 27–31). Considering the majesty of the God-given life around him, the psalmist bursts with worshipful gratitude: “I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live” (v. 33).

While reflecting on the Lord’s magnificent and immense creation, we can look closely at His intentional creativity and attention to detail. And like the psalmist, we can sing to our Creator with thankful praise for how powerful, majestic, and loving He is and always will be. Hallelujah!

Topic: Sold Out To God! [DCLM Daily Manna 19th August 2018 Daily Devotional]

Text: Numbers 18:1-7 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation” (Numbers 18:6).

MESSAGE:

When the children of Levi separated themselves unto Moses in Exodus 32:26, little did they know they were becoming God’s property. From that moment onward, God became their Father, Master and Portion. What a blessing that was!

In our reading today, God charged Aaron, his house and the whole house of Levi to bear the burden of the sanctuary. With this, they strictly belonged to Him and were to mind the things related to His service. God’s service requires total commitment. He does not want strangers to be involved in divine service; except those who have sold themselves to Him at will.

Like the house of Levi, New Testament believers are to be fully consecrated to God without reservations. We are now “Levites”, separated unto God the Father, by accepting the death of His Son, Jesus. When compared to the Old Covenant, the New Covenant is a better covenant. God is not expecting less from us, having given His best (Jesus) on the cross at Calvary.

Every believer must wholeheartedly give his best to the One who never withheld His best from us. At creation, He gave man the best and made him the crown of His creations with all things subject unto him. At Calvary, He gave His only begotten Son to pay for man’s highest debt. And He will finally give believers who endure to the end, the best of places – heaven. No price is too much to pay; and nothing can ever equal the best God has given to us.

Thought For The Day: If God has given us His best, we must give Him our all.

Topic: Maintaining the Right Association for Destiny Fulfilment [Seeds of Destiny 19 August 2018 Daily Devotional]

Thought For The Day: Love everybody but relate with people who are positively influential to your life and destiny.

Yesterday, we looked at the impact of association on destiny. We saw that your association determines the people you can access in life. Association also affects your motivation. One can be motivated or demotivated in life by the kind of association he keeps. Therefore, it is very important to reject the wrong association and embrace the right one in order to have a quality destiny.

Now, how can you maintain the right association?
i) Associate with the right people for your destiny
There are superior, lateral and subordinate kinds of relationship. Superior relationship is when you look up to someone higher than you; this includes your father, pastor or mentor. Lateral relationship is the relationship that exists between you and someone on the same level with you and the subordinate relationship is the one that exists between you and people who look up to you in life. In all these kinds of relationship, ensure you relate with the right people at all levels.

ii) Disconnect from the wrong influence
Bishop Abioye once said that we have been commanded to love but never commanded to be friends with everyone. Love is a command but relationship is a choice. Love liberally but relate wisely; love everyone but relate with people that are positively influential to your life and destiny.

iii) Ask God to send the right people into your life on a consistent basis
Prayer is necessary because a thousand good friends are not too many but one bad friend is too much.
Beloved, as you carry out the outlined actions above, I decree that God shall connect you with the right influences in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Love everybody but relate with people who are positively influential to your life and destiny.

1. Associate correctly.
2. Disconnect from wrong influences.
3. Ask God to send the right people into your life.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the grace to associate correctly and disconnect from every wrong influence in my life. Send the right people into my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: How Far Can You See [TREM 19 August 2018 Daily Devotional]

“For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.” Genesis 13:15

God called Abraham out of darkness and decided to bless him. But Lot went with him. Lot was not called. Lot was like an attachment. Lot went with him and suddenly they started having problem and they decided to separate. Then Abraham said to Lot, look we don’t need to quarrel, we are family. The land is before you, choose anywhere you want and I will choose whichever one you leave. That should not be the right thing to do because it was Abraham that God called. But when you know who you are, you don’t struggle. When you know what you carry, then you know it’s not about location. It’s about whose you are.

God is eternally committed to your success and wellbeing. So as far as being successful is concerned, it’s a done deal. Lot looked at the place and got greedy. He took the good part and Abraham was left in a dry land.

Then God said unto Abraham after Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thy eyes and look from the place where thou art”. Look from where you are northward, southward, eastward and westward for all the land which thou seest to thee will I give it and to thy seed forever and I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth so that if a man can number the dust of the earth then shall thy seed also be numbered, arise walk through the land and the length and breadth of it, for I will give it unto thee (Genesis 13:14-17).

Look from where you are. What are you seeing? It is what you can see you will have. Abraham eventually possessed the land including where Lot was. Beloved, this is your season of new and glorious things. Speak out your expectations and order what you want. It is what you order that will be delivered to you.

Topic: One Flesh [Andrew Wommack 19th August 2018 Daily Devotional]

Matthew 19:5 “And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?”

Text: Matthew 19:3-5

What does it mean for a man and a woman to become “one flesh?” The act of sexual intercourse between a man and a woman produces this one flesh relationship. Whether or not the man and woman ever cleave to each other in marriage; the physical act still binds them together as one flesh.

This is the reason that sexual relationships outside of marriage (whether extra-marital or pre-marital) are so damaging. Whether or not individuals get caught, pregnant or ever hurt anyone else with their sin, they are doing a lot of damage to themselves. There is a relationship that takes place through the sexual act that makes us one with that person. There is no such thing as just a “night on the town” or a “one night stand” and that’s all there is to it. Alcoholism, child abuse, hatred, and a thousand other things that are certainly wrong, are not grounds for divorce but fornication is. That shows that there is something very powerful that takes place in the physical act and explains why Satan has exploited this area so much.

Becoming one flesh with someone (sexual intercourse) is not marriage. Marriage includes, but is even beyond, becoming one flesh. This can be seen very clearly in John 4:17-18. Jesus said the woman He was speaking to at Jacob’s well had five prior husbands and the man she was currently living with was not her husband. It is certain that this woman was having sexual relations with the man she was living with but that didn’t make him her husband. Marriage involves more than sexual relations. It is a covenant or commitment between a man and a woman that corresponds to the cleaving to each other that Jesus spoke of here.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. — Colossians 3:16

Christians are to rejoice. To do that, you need only to think of the great things God has done for you. Then we are told not to be anxious, but in our prayers to make our requests known to God. In your biggest problems you have One to whom you can go; and before Him you can pour out your heart with the assurance that He will not leave you without an answer to that great problem. Then we are to fill our minds with those things that are good. They are mentioned in the Scriptures as being things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, of good report, and of virtue. It is upon these things that we are to think. Live positively, not negatively. Once you learn that secret, God will have given you the victory.

Prayer for the day: You know what troubles me today, Lord Jesus. In faith, I give it all over to You and now praise You, knowing Your love will not fail.
