Topic: Aaron – The Chosen Priest [DCLM Daily Manna 5th August 2018 Daily Devotional]

Text: Numbers 17:1-13 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not“ (Numbers 17:10).

MESSAGE:

The tussle for leadership is as old as the world itself. These tussles are attributable to the fallen nature of man. Surprisingly, this evil manifests among the people of God too.

In our text, due to constant murmurings of the Israelites against Aaron’s priesthood, God decided to put the matter to rest by instructing each tribe to bring a rod with their names written on them, including Aaron’s rod representing Levi, to be laid up in the tabernacle overnight. The rod which the Lord chooses “shall blossom”. This was done, and in the morning, Aaron’s rod budded. Thus, his priesthood was confirmed.

The prerogative of choosing leaders is with God. No man therefore, has the right to question His choice. As a Sovereign and Omniscient God, He knows the end from the beginning.

Today, Christ, as the Head and Owner of the Church, has the exclusive right through the Holy Spirit to appoint leaders over His Body – the Church. He decides and gives “some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints and for the work of the ministry and for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11,12).

The Church must accept and cooperate with all leaders as appointed by God, without preferring one to another. The leaders appointed too should understand the importance of their calling and do all things “without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality …showing [themselves] a pattern of good works” (1 Timothy 5:21; Titus 2:7,8). When things are done God’s way, the Church stands strong.

Topic: The Necessity of the Blessing [Seeds of Destiny 5 August 2018 Daily Devotional]

Scripture: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26.

Thought For The Day: The Blessing causes the blessed to exist as a difference maker.

The Scripture makes it clear that a major thing God gave to Adam after creation in order for him to fulfil destiny was the Blessing. This is because the Blessing of God is indispensable to the life and destiny of man even from the beginning of creation.

Now, one necessity of the Blessing is that the Blessing imparts the supernatural force that positions people for generational influence and impact.

Now, what does this mean?
1. The Blessing is necessary for existence as a generational gap and vacuum filler
The Blessing makes you a generational space occupier; it makes you a person of timber and calibre; it processes you into a person of substance and stature.

2. The Blessing processes the blessed into a generational problem solver and solution provider
The Blessing makes a person an answer in his place of work, family, community or nation. This was what Joseph and Daniel had that made them provide answers to Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar.

3. The Blessing causes the blessed to exist as a difference maker
This is when you do not just exist but live to make a difference.

Now, I give you one key to activate the Blessing of God amidst other keys:
1. Obedience to God and righteousness of life (Deuteronomy 28:1-2). Righteousness will give you the Blessing but crookedness will deny you the Blessing of God.

Beloved, my counsel is, make up your mind to activate the blessing of God in your life.

Remember this: The Blessing causes the blessed to exist as a difference maker.

1. Desire the blessing of God in your life.
2. Ask God to release His Blessing on your life

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the impartation of the Blessing upon my life. Help me, Lord, to connect the Blessing through covenant practice and the prophetic cover over my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: The Faith To Forgive [Andrew Wommack 5th August 2018 Daily Devotional]

Luke 17:5 “And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.”

It is very interesting to note that the apostles asked Jesus to increase their faith after He spoke of forgiveness. They observed all of the wonderful miracles Jesus performed and yet that never inspired them to ask for greater faith. Truly, walking in love and forgiveness with each other takes as much faith as any miracle we will ever believe for.

The basis of forgiveness is the love and mercy of God. It is only because God first loved and forgave us that we can love and forgive others. If we aren’t walking in the forgiveness of God, we won’t minister it to others. He forgave us before we repented or asked for forgiveness.

The scriptures admonish us to forgive as Christ has forgiven us. God offered His forgiveness towards us while we were yet sinners. Therefore, forgiveness was offered to all unconditionally. But only those who receive the offered forgiveness through repentance and faith are received as sons of God.

Likewise, we are to forgive others their trespasses, just as God has forgiven us our trespasses. We forgive whether or not the other person repents or wants our forgiveness. But we cannot restore such a person to complete relationship until there is repentance on his part. Failure to distinguish between forgiveness and restoration with their different conditions, has caused some people to make themselves vulnerable to unscrupulous people and suffer tragic results. In marriage, we should forgive our mate for anything, even adultery. But If there is no true repentance on our mate’s part, it would be foolish to trust him or her in a sexually tempting situation. We should forgive a business partner for stealing from us whether or not he repents, but that doesn’t mean we ought to put ourselves in a position to let him do it again. Complete restoration is dependent on repentance. Walk in forgiveness today.

I received a letter from a man in Charlotte, North Carolina. He said that, until our Charlotte Crusade, he was filled with hatred, bitterness, and prejudice toward people of another race. He had joined one of the extremist organizations and was on the verge of engaging in violence. Out of curiosity he came to the meetings, and one night he was gloriously converted. He said, “All bitterness, hatred, malice, and prejudice immediately left me. I found myself in the counseling room sitting beside a person of another race. Through my tears I gripped the hand of this man, whom a few hours before I would have detested. My racial problem has been solved. I now find that I love all men regardless of the color of their skin.”

Only Christ can solve the complicated racial problem that is facing the world today. Until people of all races come to accept Christ as Savior, they do not have the ability to love each other. Christ can give supernatural love, which enables you to love even those whom you otherwise could not love.

Prayer for the day: Heavenly Father, fill me with that supernatural love of Jesus that enables me to reach out to the myriads of people who, in and of myself, would be impossible to love.

Open Heavens 5 August 2018 MESSAGE:

In the course of our reflection yesterday, the Holy Spirit revealed to us some unexpected things that happen when God comes visiting. One outcome of divine visitation is amazing testimonies of sudden turn around, which are so mind-boggling that they lead to laughter. Today’s Bible reading describes this experience. At one of our events, one particular man had a divine visitation and received his own amazing testimony of sudden turn around. This young was born with only one testicle. With the aim of rectifying this problem, his parents took him to a native doctor who ended up destroying the only testicle he had. This ended any possibility of this young man ever having a child of his own. However, God had a plan to bring laughter back to his life. It was the very first programme I held as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God at Rowe Park, Lagos Nigeria. In the course of this programme, the young man felt that something sensational was going on between his legs and he checked to see what was happening to him. He discovered that he had received two brand new testicles! The day he came to visit me in my office after this miracle, he came with his wife and she was pregnant. In his joy and excitement, he said to me, “Sir, do you want me to show you the testicles?” I responded that there was no need for that because I could see the evidence of the new testicles on his wife. God will visit you, and creative miracles will be your portion today in Jesus’ Name.

Another of such testimonies is that of a young man brought to my office by one of his friends several years ago. This young man said to me, “Sir, I have a big problem.” We found out that his wife had literarily run mad and was roaming the streets completely naked. It is culturally believed by the Yoruba tribe, which he belongs to, that a mentally unstable person that is still within the house can be cure, but once the spirit of madness takes such a fellow to the market place naked, such a person would remain mad for life. As at the time they came to my office, this woman had been bundled off to an herbal treatment home in Kwara State, Nigeria. I was given the address of the place, and I went there to pray for her. Her husband was informed after I left that I had been there to pray, but he was disappointed that the prayer did not last more than five minutes. “How can a five-minute prayer deal with this serious madness”, they wondered out of doubt. So they took the woman to the psychiatric hospital. As God would have it, the specialist there said to them, “Let us observe her before we know what to do.” After two weeks of observation, they sent for the husband and told him, “Sir, if you say something is wrong with this woman, then something must be wrong with you, because even though we have not given her any medication, this woman is as normal as any normal human being can be.” A divine visitation of less than five minutes brought laughter back to the family of this young man. I decree that in the Name that is above every other name, this month shall be your month of laughter.

Prayer Point: Father, through your visitation, reverse the irreversible in my life today in Jesus’ Name.

LESSON INTRODUCTION:
Marriage, in this context, symbolises the union between Christ and the Church. (Ephesians 5:22-32). It is, however, important to note that the Marriage Supper of the Lamb is the next event after the second coming of Christ for the saints. May the Holy Spirit teach us and bless us richly as we look at this topic in details. (Daniel 7:13; 1Tim. 6:14; Acts 1:10-11).

A. IMPORTANCE OF THE MARRIAGE
i. To assemble the saints for the last supper with Christ Matt. 26:29

ii. To present the just of all ages to God, the Father and fulfill their main eternal purpose. John 17:12

iii. To wipe away tears from the faces of the saints. Rev. 7:17; 21:4

iv. To take away the saints from the earth before the activities of the anti-Christ and the tribulation. Isaiah 57:1

B. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE MARRIAGE
i. Those who belong to Christi Cor. 5:17

ii. Those who frequently desire His second coming and are watchful Matt. 25:1-13. Whose patience and visions are not darkened.

iii. Those who do not get distracted and lose focus completely before the Bridegroom comes.

iv. Those whose holiness has not been polluted and whose garment of righteousness has not been stained. Rev. 21:8, 27; Heb. 12:14.

v. Those who obey His commands and whose citizenship is in Heaven. Rev. 22:14-15; Eph. 2:14- 16; Matt. 7:21-23.

CLASS ACTIVITY 2
Members should discuss the kinds of preparations they should engage in towards the marriage of the Lamb.

SUMMARY
i. The marriage of the Lamb had been scheduled by God himself.

ii. The true brides know themselves (whether young or old).

iii. There is opportunity for those who want to join the true bridal train.

CONCLUSION
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb, like all biblical prophecies, will be fulfilled. You cannot afford to miss it. Pray to God to keep you standing in Him and count you worthy of this great and unique event.

CLOSING PRAYER
Father, help me never to miss the great Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
