Venezuelan activist and TikTok star Elizbeth Rogliani is likening the toppling of statues in American as part of the Black Lives Matter movement to the Venezuela Socialist movement.

“Why do I even worry about some silly statues coming down? Or some silly little street names changing? Why do I care? That’s because the last time I didn’t care about this I was a teenager,” Rogliani said on TikTok, citing her personal experience.

 “I have already lived through this thing when I was living in Venezuela. The statues came down … Chavez didn’t want all that history displayed and then he changed the street names, then came the [scool] curriculum, and then some movies couldn’t be shown on certain TV channels and so on and so forth,” Rogliani asserted

According to CBN News, Venezuela was one of the richest and most democratic countries in South America before being taken over by socialism.

“You guys think it can’t happen to you … I’ve heard this so many times, but always be on guard,” Rogliani cautioned. “Never believe something can’t happen to you. You need to guard your country and your society, or it will be destroyed.”

“We didn’t believe it could happen to us,” she continued. “Cubans warned us, yet it happened. And there’s clearly a lot of people wanting to destroy the US.”

In an interview with Fox News, Hawk Newsome, the head of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York, claimed Jesus was “the most famous black radical revolutionary in history.”

On Wednesday evening, Fox News Host Martha MacCallum had Newsome on her show The Story to discuss his thoughts on violence and the Black Lives Matter Movement

MacCallum started out the interview by noting that Newsome has previously made comments about the necessity of violence in certain situations. MacCallum then asked the activist, “What exactly is it that you hope to achieve through violence?”

Newsome retorted by citing how America “is built upon violence,” adding, “for any American to accuse us of being violent, it’s extremely hypocritical.”

Newsome also noted that the BLM movement is about “saving lives”, not “abusing police officers.”

“We are talking about protecting lives and there is nothing more American than that,” he asserted.

Newsome also cited the Second Amendment and how it was hypocritical for Americans to look at Black people as violent when they talk about “arming themselves and defending themselves.”

“But when White people grab assault rifles and go to our nation/state capitals, it’s all good,” Newsome added.

In a post to his blog, Ligon Duncan, chancellor of Reformed Theological Seminary, encouraged the Mississippi legislature to take down the current state flag.

Asked for his opinion on the state’s flag by Mississippi’s Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann and Speaker of the House Philip Gunn, Duncan shared that while he sympathized with those who wish to keep the history of Mississippi alive, he loves his neighbors and wants “all of us, together, to be able to be proud of our State Flag.”

Duncan recalled his family’s Confederate history, noting that his ancestors fought for the Confederacy and “their descendants have been re-fighting ‘The War’ ever since.” He also shared that he grew up reading Lee’s Lieutenants as a child and served as a U.S. Senate Page under J. Strom Thurmond, who opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Despite his family’s ties to the Confederacy, Duncan asserted that the “1894 Flag” was created as a symbol of “opposition to equal civil rights for our fellow Black citizens.”

China has been gradually returning to normal life with restrictions lifting across the country, but citizens are still very wary of a potential second wave of coronavirus cases, particularly in the original epicenter, Wuhan. Senate Democrats blocked a policing reform bill this week.

According to CBN News, the vote was 55-45. The Justice Act, which was proposed by Republican senators, needed 60 votes to pass.

“My hope, my prayer, is that after this bill fails today … we can start on the path of bipartisanship,” Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said.

The proposal comes after weeks of protesting and demonstrations calling for a change in police policy and acts of racism.

The proposal would create a national database of police use-of-force incidents, restrict police chokeholds, and develop training practices and commissions to study policing and racism.

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) said he was disappointed that the bill did not advance and challenged Democratic senators to propose changes to the bill.

“If you don’t think we’re right, make it better, don’t walk away,” Scott said.

He later tweeted that he offered Democratic senators the ability to make at least 20 amendments, but “they walked out.”

“Don’t let anyone convince you this was about debates or amendments. It’s about politics, and a refusal to find a solution,” he tweeted.
