Kenneth Copeland’s daily devotional April 13, 2017 – Leaving the Pain Behind

Topic: Leaving the Pain Behind [Thursday April 13, 2017]

Love…is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. – 1 Corinthians 13:5, The Amplified Bible

Have you ever tried to forgive someone…and found you simply couldn’t do it? You’ve cried about it and prayed about it and asked God to help you, but those old feelings of resentment just failed to go away.

Put an end to those kinds of failures in the future by basing your forgiveness on faith rather than feelings. True forgiveness doesn’t have anything at all to do with how you feel. It’s an act of the will. It is based on obedience to God and on faith in Him.

That means once you’ve forgiven a person, you need to consider them permanently forgiven! When old feelings rise up within you and Satan tries to convince you that you haven’t really forgiven them, resist him. Say, “No, I’ve already forgiven that person by faith. I refuse to dwell on those old feelings.”

Then, according to 1 John 1:9, believe that you receive forgiveness and cleansing from the sin of unforgiveness and from all unrighteousness associated with it—including any remembrance of having been wronged!

Have you ever heard anyone say, “I may forgive, but I’ll never forget!”? That’s a second-rate kind of forgiveness that you, as a believer, are never supposed to settle for. You’re to forgive supernaturally “even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32).

You’re to forgive as God forgives. To release that person from guilt permanently and unconditionally and to operate as if nothing bad ever happened between you. You’re to purposely forget as well as forgive.

As you do that, something supernatural will happen within you. The pain once caused by that incident will disappear. The power of God will wash away the effects of it and you’ll be able to leave it behind you once and for all.

Don’t become an emotional bookkeeper, keeping careful accounts of the wrongs you have suffered. Learn to forgive and forget. It will open a whole new world of blessing for you.

Billy Graham’s daily devotional April 13, 2017 – Looking for a cause?

Topic: Looking for a cause? [Thursday April 13, 2017]

Brethren . . . present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. — Romans 12:1

In a book called “The Age of Longing” we read that an American girl married a radical revolutionary in Paris. She had lost her faith at an American University—lost all the religious faith she had, and all the things her parents had told her. She was asked why she married him. She said, “He’s the first person I have ever known who believes something strong enough to die for it. Although I don’t believe exactly as he does, I was attracted to this man who had found a cause.” I find that young people today are looking for a cause, and they are not looking for something easy.

Some time ago a university student in Moscow told one of my colleagues, “You Christians say that you are going to win the world, but we’ve done more in fifty years than you’ve done in two thousand years. And do you know why? It is because you are not committed. We are. We will win, you’ll see.”

Prayer for the day: I look at my dedication to You, Jesus, my Lord and Savior, and am ashamed—You gave everything for me. May I always live totally committed in love to You.

Dunamis’ Daily Devotional April 13, 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche – Accessing Supernatural Supplies

Topic: Accessing Supernatural Supplies [Thursday April 13, 2017]

Scripture: And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. Matthew 15:36-37

Thought For The Day: To believe is to see the goodness of the Lord.

Some time ago, one of our church members went to the bank to withdraw some money. The amount of money she requested for was given to her but when she got home, she discovered that instead of the cashier giving her the money in same denominations per bundle, she found higher denominations sandwiched between the denominations given to her. So, the amount of money was multiplied many times. But for integrity sake, she went to the bank and narrated her experience thinking the cashier who paid her made a mistake. After diligent check, they said to her, ‘No! We paid you what we were meant to pay you.’

We serve a God who is committed to supplying limitless resources to His covenant people even in critical times.

Now, how can we access supernatural supplies?

One of the ways we can access supernatural supplies is through faith in God. There is a connection between faith and supernatural supplies. Psalm 27:13 says, I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord….

So, to believe is to see the goodness of the Lord.

Beloved, if you want to access supernatural supplies even when there is scarcity in the world, believe God’s Word concerning your prosperity and act in line with His Word.

Remember this: To believe is to see the goodness of the Lord.

Assignment(S):

1. Determine to be committed in your tithing.

2. Ask God to open your eyes to see where your wealth is.

3. Believe everything God has spoken concerning your prosperity.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: FAITH FOR SUPERNATURAL SUPPLIES.

Prayer: O LORD, I believe that You are the Source of my supply. Please grant me access to the realm of supernatural abundance as I walk in covenant with You, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

Daily Reading: Joshua 7:16 to 9:2, Luke 16:1 to 18, Psalm 82:1 to 8, Proverbs 13:2 to 3.

Quote: The vehicle of the supernatural is run by the fuel of faith. Culled from 365 WISDOM CAPSULES by Dr Paul Enenche.

Amazing Fact: The Mississippi River once started flowing backwards after an earthquake.

Today In History: 13/04/1960 – The United States launches Transit 1-B, the world’s first satellite navigation system.

Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), is a powerfully anointed church, headquartered at Abuja, Nigeria, with Dr Paul and Dr Becky Enenche, as the Senior Pastors. It is a power-packed arena where God’s Presence, Principles and Power are at work for the salvation, healing and restoration of human destinies and dignities.

Winning Wisdom: See… Listen … Act

Topic: See… Listen … Act [Thursday, 13th April 2017]

Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds. Proverbs 27:23 KJV

Ask anyone, ‘how are you?’ The most likely response you’ll get is, ‘I am fine’. But then, truth is, that isn’t always true. A true friend will ask you, ‘how are you?’ will not just only  wait to hear but will also listen to your response and then looks into your eyes to see that your response is actually true. It is very important that we pay attention to people’s countenance from time to time. It is wrong to always assume that they are fine simply because they said they are, especially when you are accountable for them as a parent, teacher, leader, spouse, sibling, pastor or just as a friend.

It won’t be out of place to say that the prophet who died in 2 Kings 4 falls into the category of people we assume are doing great, where as they have lots to deal with that is locked in their hearts. But then, the Bible says, one day the wife of a man from  the guild of prophets called out to Elisha, “your servant my husband is dead. You well know what a good man he was, devoted to God. And now the man to whom he was in debt is on his way to collect by taking my two children as slaves” (2 Kings 4:1 MSG). Now, we should ask, ‘was there nobody heading that group?’ ‘Did he never talk to anyone about his problems?’ Perhaps they heard but didn’t listen; looked but didn’t see!

It is rather surprising to find a contrast of that possible scenario with an unbeliever king in Nehemiah 2. “Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart…”

(Nehemiah 2:2) As Christ-refined, we need to pay attention to people’s countenance, listen to the silent details in their comments, see beyond the feigned smile on their faces and show them you care. You will be surprised how much healing you can do just by doing that. And need I say that you don’t have to be a psychologist? No, you don’t. And you just might be pulling someone out of the claws of depression and even suicide if you can just see, listen and act.

Keep winning daily.

Wise Action:

Start taking note of even the least of changes in people around you: It could just be the tone of their voice over the phone, but pay attention. See, listen intently between the lines and take appropriate and wise action.

7 Signs You're Consuming Too Much Sugar

How much sugar is too much for your body? Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency shares 7 ways your body might be telling you your sugar intake is becoming excessive.

Higher Incidence of Acne on Your Skin

Eating too much sugar tends to wreak havoc on your skin. There is a relationship between a high-sugar diet and severe acne and a high sugar intake tends to result in severe acne issues.

Experiencing Energy Slumps

Especially after eating sugary foods lacking in satiating proteins, fiber and fat, you are likely to develop a pounding headache or feel extremely lethargic. This is because a high sugar diet, rather than a balanced nutritious diet, makes your blood sugar level unstable, with you constantly switching from ‘sugary high’ to ‘lethargic low’. You end up feeling very weak and sluggish throughout the day.

Cavities

Cavities are more often than not, a glaring sign of a sweet tooth. Cavities are painful and more importantly avoidable, and the key to avoiding them is to brush your teeth well after meals and eat foods that will keep your teeth healthy.

High Blood Pressure

One of the factors that contribute to a diagnosis of high blood pressure is a high-sugar diet. A high-sugar diet can push your blood pressure off the normal threshold. Limiting sugar intake is just as important as reducing your sodium consumption when it comes to a healthy blood pressure.

Exercising is Getting Extremely Hard for You

Whether fat, chubby or even thin, if exercise seems to be getting harder and harder for you to do, a high-sugar diet might be to blame. If you  have a high blood sugar level and engage in activities that involve intense effort or physical extension, you’ll likely end up feeling very fatigued and quite miserable. You also tend to get exhausted very easily and quickly while exercising.

Weight Gain

Weight gain can be caused by a number of different factors and one of those factors is a high sugar diet. This is because a high sugar diet does not make you feel full (which makes you eat more) and does not compensate for total energy, that is, they do not displace other foods, so they add to your total calorie intake. A high sugar diet also tends to make exercise or physical activity hard, so it’s unlikely you’ll be able to burn off the excess calories through that route.

Nothing Tastes As Sweet As It Used To

Eating too much sugar basically bombards your taste buds and eventually this excessive sugar intake causes your taste bud sugar tolerance to build up and increase, as a result you need more and more sugar to satisfy your sweet craving. This is bad and you should at this point cut back (regardless of how tough it might be at first), so that you can lower your tolerance and once again be content and satisfied with minimal sugar.

A Troubled Night

Author: Emode Victor

A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: A Troubled Night [13/04/2017]

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:44. Read: Mk 14:32-36

It was a night different from other nights. Other nights, He separated Himself to commune with His Father in prayer. But the eve before His crucifixion was an agonizing one. A night in which His soul was sorrowful unto death. A night in which He bore the sin of the whole world upon His shoulder. A night His human side surfaced and wished the Lord took away the cup of death from Him, not His Will but God’s will be done. A night He knew that His Father will leave Him not permanently but momentarily, but that moment came with excruciating pain. A night He was between the options of either going to the cross or denying it. But for our Salvation, He endured the humiliation from sinners whom He came to die for. They spat on Him, mocked Him and ridiculed Him. Oh, what a night!

He knew His Father would leave Him at the moment He bore my sin and yours upon Himself because God cannot behold iniquity (not even upon His only begotten Son) Hab 1:13, He took along His intimate human friends, but they disappointed Him when they could not watch with Him for an hour. What a troubled night for my Saviour!

He Came For You And I

A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: He Came For You And I [12/04/17]

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14. Read: Jn 1:10-18

A song writer wrote a song and said, in heaven, God called a meeting that comprises of both the angels and the Son and asked, who shall go to the earth and die for the sin of humanity? He called angel Michael, he told God that humanity is not qualified for him to die for. Angel Gabriel said the same thing. Then Jesus stood up and said to His Father, I will go and die for them because of my love for them. I must save them from the impending judgment.

Jesus left the splendour of His throne to the earth to bear upon Himself your sin, my sin and that of the whole world. Jesus didn’t come to the earth to die for Himself, His Father or the angels but humanity. He felt the pains we feel, He ate what we eat and walked the earth just like you and I. The Love of God towards us all is immeasurable, incomparable, unquantifiable, endless and everlasting. Wouldn’t you rather reciprocate this amazing love of Christ? Your respond to this eternal love is to surrender your life to Jesus Christ today and experience the power behind this divine love of God

5 Surprising Signs of Intelligence

Unfortunately, we very often belittle ourselves and fail to recognize how intelligent we are. Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency, shares 5 surprising signs that confirm intelligence.

You Don’t See Yourself as Smart

This phenomenon is called the Dunning-Kruger effect. It’s a cognitive bias in which people who are actually smart and intelligent, or in other words high ability individuals, tend to underestimate their intellect, ‘under-sell’ themselves and erroneously assume tasks which are easy for them are easy for others (until they of course find out it isn’t so).

You Have a Good Sense of Humour

You might not be able to pull off stand-up comedy, but you do have a good sense of humour and people tend to find your comments, statements or actions humourous. This is considered a sign of intelligence. Intelligence and a good sense of humour are strongly correlated because humour requires a high level of verbal skills, critical thinking and creativity. It also reveals a good ability to relate with others.

You Had a Reading Habit as a Child

People who had the habit of reading as a child are considered intelligent. This is because children with good average reading skills tend to have higher than average verbal reasoning as they age. They also tend to do well in non-verbal tests and perform well in abstract thinking, general cognition and pattern finding.

You’re Musically Inclined

Research has shown that musicians have structurally and functionally different brains from non-musicians. The areas of the brain used to process music in musicians (be it for a singer, instrumentalist etc.) are more active. The effect of music on cognition and intelligence is so profound that even just learning to play a musical instrument can change the neurophysiology of the brain which can help your mood, memory and ability to learn languages.

You’re Internet Savvy

Knowing your way around the internet to source for needed information and answers to questions is another sign of intelligence. Most experts believe that the internet benefits intelligence and tends to make people smarter, as long as it is used productively.

David Abioye's Daily Devotional April 12, 2017 – Capture Your Night To Release Your Day

Topic: Capture Your Night To Release Your Day [Wednesday April 12, 2017]

Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. Psalm 19:2

What you do with your night determines what becomes of your day.

A good day begins with a good night, just as a poor day begins with a poor night.

Invest in your night and you will earn the dividend of a good day.

Sow into the night and you will reap it in the day.

Capture your night to release your day.

Sleepy eyes will birth slippery hands.

Things easily slip off the hands of those who have sleepy eyes.

Stay awake at night to gain command of the day time.

Joyce Meyer's daily devotional April 12 2017 – High Praises of God

Topic: High Praises of God [Wednesday April 12, 2017]

Let the saints be joyful in the glory and beauty [which God confers upon them]; let them sing for joy upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their throats and a two-edged sword in their hands. — Psalm 149:5-6

We should form a habit of thanking and praising God as soon as we wake up each morning. While we are still lying in bed, let’s give thanks and fill our minds with Scripture.

Praise defeats the devil quicker than any other battle plan. Praise is an invisible garment that we put on and it protects us from defeat and negativity in our minds. But it must be genuine, heartfelt praise, not just lip service or a method being tried to see if it works. We praise God for the promises in His Word and for His goodness.

Worship is a battle position! As we worship God for Who He is and for His attributes, for His ability and might, we draw closer to Him and the enemy is defeated.

We can never be too thankful! Thank God all day long and remember the many things He has done for you.

God never loses a battle. He has a definite battle plan, and when we follow Him, we will always win.
