Satanic Ties or Godly Signs? Fans Question Use of ‘Occult’ Symbols By Christian Artists Toby Mac, Lecrae, Andy Mineo

Christian Post Report – Christian rapper Lecrae makes triangular hand gesture in KB’s “Sideways” music video. Fans accuse him of swearing allegiance to the occult.

Skulls, triangle-shaped hand signs sometimes depicting the all-seeing eye of Egyptian god Horus and other symbolic gestures which many conspiracy theorists interpret as occult imagery, have been showing up in the music videos and artwork of prominent Christian artists such as Toby Mac, Lecrae and Andy Mineo and fans are concerned that they might be affiliated with a secret society popularly known as the Illuminati – a shadow group they believe runs the world behind closed doors.

Lecrae triggered a frenzy online among Christian fans last month when he posed the triangular hand sign in KB’s “Sideways” music video that resembled Jay Z’s infamous Roc gesture. Conspiracy theorists such as YouTube’s The Vigilant Christian say this is a Freemason and occult hand signal and some fans says Lecrae has connections to the dark side.

“Why is Lecrae throwing that kinda symbolism???? @ 2:32. This is no coincidence anymore [because] he did the same thing in his album ‘Anomaly’,” said Bax Storm in the YouTube comments section for “Sideways.” “All these symbols are believed to be of satanism which they are. I’m not hating on Lecrae. I’m just concerned”

“I think it’s time to start questioning [Reach Records and Lecrae] even though they have Christian lyrics here and there,” said user Kevin Smith. “This one’s revealing of the wolf in sheep’s clothing”

Lecrae however laughed off the accusations in a recent Rapzilla interview.

“We’re always laughing because [we wonder what fans] are going to find in this to think it’s Illuminati. I was thinking [I was representing a] steeple [with my hands],” said Lecrae in an interview. “But I guess triangles represent secret society. So I’ve got to talk to my kids because they’ve been doing a lot of geometry lately. I wonder if the teachers are inducting them into some kind of Illuminati activity.”

The rapper also addressed the use of the symbols in a 2014 interview with CP Voice.

“[Symbols] either represent something or they don’t. What they represent is really in the heart and the mind and the eye of each individual beholder. So where as in one country [I can hold up the peace sign] and that means peace, but in another country this is a derogatory symbol. So for me, when I see art, I see art and if it doesn’t have a meaning it doesn’t. I don’t take it to mean some kind of cultish symbol. And maybe that was the creator’s intention, but that doesn’t have any weigh-in on my life,” he said. “I believe the Earth is the Lord’s and everything there in. God made everything. It’s ours for the taking to use however we want to use it as long as it honors him.”

Mineo and Toby Mac came under similar criticism for depicting the all-seeing eye on the artwork for their albums “Neverland” and “Eye On It”. The criticism forced a response from Mineo’s label Reach Records which justified the use of the questionable symbols with Scripture.

“The drawing of an eye, a skill, etc. are all good things that God is ultimately responsible for designing and are not made evil because of their association to evil,” Reach Records noted in January 2014 statement. “The world’s perversion of these things does not overcome the good intent of God’s craftsmanship. They work off of borrowed capital and should not have the final say on the things God has made.”

Mark Dice, a Christian Internet personality with 350,000 YouTube subscribers and author of “Illuminati in the Music Industry” said the accusations against Toby Mac aren’t new.

“I’ve certainly heard the allegations about Toby Mac being affiliated with [the Illuminati] simply because of the artwork on his album ‘Eye on It’, but this is just an example of how out of control this whole Illuminati in pop culture thing has gotten,” said Dice told The Christian Post. “The Bible says to judge people by their fruits, and most of the fruit from most mainstream artists is rotten and covered with maggots. Just because an artist uses a triangle or an eye in their artwork or music video doesn’t mean they’ve sold their soul to the devil or are working with the Illuminati.”

  • Eye of Providence
    (Photo: Screengrab)
The Eye of Providence seen on the U.S. 262 Bill.

Dice said however that Lecrae’s use of the triangular hand sign “signifies allegiance to the secret society.”

The society, he says, uses rap artists to promote hedonistic and materialistic lifestyles and represents “ultimate power.”

“The more wealthy and powerful the artists appear to the audience, the more the general public are going to put them on a pedestal and see them as virtually divine,” said Dice.

Despite the speculation about the Illuminati group however, there is no concrete evidence that the group even exists.

Brent Morris, director of communications at the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States told CP that conspiracy theorists like Dice, have interpreted the image of the all-seeing eye on the U.S. dollar bill as the eye of ancient Egyptian god Horus but it is an inaccurate interpretation.

“[The Eye of Horus], that’s not what the designers called it, and that’s not what the State Department calls it, that’s what ignorant people call it. The proceedings of the Continental Congress where they debated the design of the dollar bill is public information,” said Morris.

“Now you can assume the people that described it were lying, you can assume that the people wrote it down were lying, but what they said, they said and what was written down – it’s the Eye of Providence. [Its meaning is in the book of] Proverbs. The eye of God is on the wicked and the just. God is overlooking all of our actions,” he said.

Masonic Square and Compasses(Photo: Screengrab)An image that represents the Masonic Square and Compasses.

He explained that the Freemasons do use secret signs and passwords to identify each other, but they are primarily used in Masonic Lodge meetings.

“It looks like, as near as we can tell from history, sometime back in the 1600s the Guild of Freemasons needed to develop a way for their members to identify themselves,” Morris told The Christian Post.

“Because if you were a baker, a brewer or a miller you’d spend your entire working career in one village and never have to leave. If you’re a Mason, when they finished building the church or extension of the town hall or bridge, there’s not any Mason work left for you,” he continued.

“You’ve got to move to another job site. And so the trade guilds particularly in Great Britain seemed to develop [these] secret passwords where I would show up at the job site, you’d be the master Mason at the job site and I’d go up and whisper the secret password in your ear and you’d know I was a member of the guild,” he added.

Morris also clarified the meaning of the Masonic Square and Compasses which many conspiracy theorists believe the hand signal used by Jay Z represents.

“The square reminds us to square our actions by the square of virtue. The compass teaches us to circumscribe our passions. The G in the middle stands for geometry and God,” he said.

Acclaimed Christian Artist Matthew West Recalls How a Moment With a Recovering Drug Addict Validated His Purpose

Matthew West (Photo: The Christian Post/Scott Liu)

Christian Post Report – Four-time Grammy award-nominee Matthew West speaks to The Christian Post about XXXX in New York City on May XX, 2015.

Four-time Grammy Award-nominee Matthew West shared recently that hearing 40,000 stories of human suffering and adversity from around the world inspired his new album Live Forever, which debuted at No. 1 on the Nielsen Soundscan Christian & Gospel Albums chart in its first week.

The 11-track project, which marks West’s 6th studio album and the third in which every song was inspired by people’s stories, has been lauded by fans around the world since its debut last week. It features the album’s first radio single, “Day One,” an uptempo song that reminds the American Music Award winner of a memorable moment he once had with a recovering drug addict at one of his concerts.

Well, every single day Your grace reminds me/That my best days are not behind me/Wherever my yesterday may find me/Well, I don’t have to stay there, no,” West sings on the God-glorifying track.

During a recent interview with The Christian Post, West, who is currently in the midst of his 40-city Live Forever tour, recalled his touching encounter with the troubled teen.

“I get to meet people at every concert and when you read [those lyrics], the picture I have is the picture of a teenage kid who I had invited to [my] concert because he was going through a drug recovery program and we had invited the whole drug recovery program to attend,” West, 38, told CP earlier this week.

He continued: “This teenage kid, he had a nice shirt tucked in that had been given to him by the program and I was just encouraging him. I got to hang with him and I said, ‘Man you’re looking really sharp tonight … you know there’s girls out there [and] they’re probably going to want to get your number.’ I was kind of just joking around with this teenage kid.”

The downcast teen then lowered his head and said with absolute certainty in his voice, “‘Man those girls wouldn’t want anything to do with an addict like me.'”

The young man’s overwhelming sense of defeat and hopelessness saddened West, so in he decided to take the opportunity to uplift and reassure him, much like his lyrics in “Day One.”

“I got a chance to look that guy in the eyes – and here’s a young teenage boy who’s already so discouraged. I mean he’s defeated before he even walks out the door, so [I] said ‘Hey look, that may be who you were but that’s not gonna be who you are … this is just a chapter of your story called addiction and we all have chapters of our stories we wish we didn’t hav,e but those chapters don’t have to own us,'” West recalled.

“‘They don’t have to be the title of our story. They can just be chapters that go from broken to healed.’ And that’s what fires me up, when I see people like that young boy where a light appears in his eyes and he goes ‘alright maybe I’m not just an addict, maybe God put me here for more than that.'”

West, whose career spans over 20 years, began as an independent artist in 1997 and went on to become an internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter who is currently signed to Capitol CMG.

Six years ago while recovering from vocal cord surgery, the married father of two launched a campaign to collect true and heartfelt stories from around the world, and 40,000 letters later, Live Forever was created.

“So this song called ‘Day One,’ it’s about the promise of a new beginning every single day. What I was sensing in the stories I was reading from people is that so many of us get so discouraged by the chapters in our stories that are behind us and the ones that have already been written, the ones that if somebody gave us a do-over we might say, ‘yeah I want to do that chapter over again,'” West explained.

The acclaimed Christian singer and actor said that he hopes that his music can help people discover that the present moment is a gift from God.

“I wanted to write an anthem that says, ‘hey, the past is gone and how do I know that?’ Well the Bible tells me so: ‘forgetting what is behind I press on to a new tomorrow,'” West said citing Philippians 3:13. “And so the whole song is about how every morning God’s mercy is new (that’s Lamentations 3:22-23) and so I think that’s why it’s resonating with people because who doesn’t need a reminder? I need a daily reminder that God’s grace is a daily gift, it’s a well that never runs dry, it’s a gift that never stops giving.”

West is the recipient of many prestigious awards including ASCAP Christian Music Songwriter/Artist of the Year, an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award and a Primetime Emmy Award-nomination.

“I’m thankful for any recognition. Obviously to me what it points to hopefully is the sign that the music is resonating in people’s lives. You know there’s an interesting thing in my genre of music … you know faith-based music or contemporary music or contemporary Christian music – we don’t have MTV or tabloids and things like that, so there’s a certain anonymity that goes along with it,” said West.

“People might know my songs more than they would know my name. At the beginning of my career I had to come to grips with like ‘hey why am I in this?’ If at the end of my career, if people don’t remember Matthew West the name but they remember a song that impacted their lives, am I ok with that? And now more than ever, after six records, sitting here talking with you here today, I’m ok with that because the messages of those songs resonate in people’s lives and hopefully it helps people get from point A to point B. Whether they remember my name or I win an award or not, that’s not the point … so I’m excited for the recognition but I’m more excited when a song resonates in somebody’s heart.”

Christians ‘Under Bombs Every Day’ in Aleppo; They ‘Have No Weapons and Are Afraid’ Says Bishop

Syria (Photo: Reuters/Sultan Kitaz)

Christian Post Report – A civil defence member holds a rescued schoolgirl after what activists said was a barrel bomb dropped by forces loyal to Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad and hit a school and a residential building in Seif al-Dawla neighborhood of Aleppo, Syria, May 3, 2015.

The Chaldean Bishop of Aleppo has revealed that Christians are living “under bombs” every day in the war-torn city of Aleppo, Syria, and are among the most defenseless people because they have no weapons to fight back. The bishop warned, however, that factions trying to characterize the conflict as Muslims against Christians are often simply looking to take a hold of territory.

“We are under bombs every day. I think many Christians will flee from Aleppo and seek shelter in the coastal area, but they will do it when schools and universities close, after the exams. In the disaster in which we live, even this year schools and universities remained open in the central districts of Aleppo,” Syrian Jesuit Antoine Audo told Fides News Agency on Friday.

“Many still believe that studying is important for the future although one lives in a city that seems to have no future.”

Aleppo has suffered greatly in the five-year civil war in Syria, which has killed over 220,000 people, according to humanitarian agencies such as Oxfam International.

Last week, Amnesty International released a report detailing the “unthinkable atrocities” and hellish scenes taking place in the city.

A 30-year-old factory worker shared about the aftermath of an attack on the al-Fardous neighborhood in 2014: “After the bombing, I saw children without heads, body parts everywhere. It was how I imagine hell to be.”

Amnesty has accused both the government of President Bashar al-Assad and the various rebel groups fighting in Syria of carrying out war crimes, such as using barrel bombs that have decimated the civilian population.

“Civilians in opposition-controlled areas of Aleppo have been bombarded in their homes, hospitals, schools, public markets and places of worship in air attacks launched by government forces. The majority of attacks in this campaign have involved the use of ‘barrel bombs’ — large, improvised explosive devices, which are delivered from helicopters and consist of oil barrels, fuel tanks or gas cylinders that have been packed with explosives, fuel and metal fragments to increase their lethal effect,” the report stated.

Audo warned, however, that those seeking to characterize the conflict as one between Christians and Muslims, or between Shiites and Sunnis, are sometimes seeking to exploit the suffering and justify military presence in the region.

The Syrian bishop offered as an example an incident in April, where “heavy attacks were carried out by armed anti-government groups against targeted districts where Christian Cathedrals are concentrated and then also against Suleimanya district, home to many Christians.”

He said: “Perhaps the intention was just to impress international public opinion and justify military responses.”

Audo added: “Of course, Christians are the most defenseless group, they have no weapons, they are afraid. But certain slogans and certain driven interpretations only serve to hide the real reasons and the real dynamics of the war. There are those who want to divide the whole area into small sectarian entities, as they tried to do in Iraq, in order to continue to dominate everything.”

Aleppo also suffered heavy damage over the Orthodox Easter period, leading Christian leaders in the region to cry out at the ongoing slaughter of men, women and children.

“During the Easter period, our city and our people suffered intense pain, anguish and discomfort during the night when neighborhoods in the city were hit with rocket-propelled grenades, with a destructive capacity that we had never heard and seen before,” the heads of churches and Christian communities in Aleppo said in a statement.

They also asked whether Easter is “the time of the resurrection of the Savior or the funeral of his disciples?” and called on all “people of conscience” to stop the ongoing massacre in Syria.

The Blessing of a Praying Parent

Christian Post Report – 1 Samuel 2:1-10

    (Photo: In Touch Ministries)
    Dr. Charles F. Stanley (File).

Hannah experienced great sorrow prior to the birth of her son Samuel. Through that difficult time, however, she demonstrated a strong love for the Lord and a dependence on Him through prayer.

Samuel had a mother who loved God deeply. In fact, Hannah saw herself as the Lord’s handmaid, whose life was in service to Him (1 Samuel 1:11 KJV). Even when her misery was overwhelming, she acknowledged how important He was to her, and she modeled a godly lifestyle.

We are commanded to love the Lord with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30) and to give Him first place in our life (Deuteronomy 5:7). If we love God, we will make sure our children know about Him and understand the importance of a relationship with Him through Christ. Our lives, though flawed, will reveal the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

Samuel was blessed because Hannah was a woman of prayer. After telling of her petition, which stemmed from misery, Scripture records her declaration of praise, which came from a heart rejoicing over God’s answer to her cries. A praying mother gives high priority to bringing family concerns before the Lord. I remember my mom kneeling with me by my bed to pray. I can still recall the phrases she used and the things she talked over with Him.

Children need committed parents who 1) demonstrate love toward both the family and God, and 2) help them experience the power and joy of prayer (James 5:16). Even one parent can make a powerful difference when Christ is the center of the home. I know my mother did.

British PM David Cameron and Conservative Party Declare Surprise Election Victory

Christian Post Report – David Cameron on course to remain as British PM following the general elections on May 7, 2015.” title=”Christian Post Report – David Cameron on course to remain as British PM following the general elections on May 7, 2015.” name=”jpg” src=”http://images.christianpost.com/full/83538/david-cameron-on-course-to-remain-as-british-pm-following-the-general-elections-on-may-7-2015.jpg” class=”imgPhoto” width=”550″ height=”450″ /> <small class=(Photo: Reuters/Toby Melville)

Christian Post Report – David Cameron on course to remain as British PM following the general elections on May 7, 2015.

British Prime Minister David Cameron and his Conservative Party have reportedly won the general elections, with exit polls putting them on course for narrow-majority. Despite media predictions that the Labour Party would make for strong opposition and force a “hung parliament,” Cameron is now set to meet with Queen Elizabeth and accept the mandate to form a government.

The Conservative, also known as the Tory party, looks set to win 331 seats in the next Parliament, BBC News noted on Friday morning, while the Labour Party will have to settle for a projected 232 seats.

“This is the sweetest victory of all,” Cameron told supporters Thursday night. “The real reason to celebrate tonight, the real reason to be proud, the real reason to be excited is we are going to get the opportunity to serve our country again.”

Cameron strongly pushed for Scotland to stay a part of the U.K. during the national referendum in 2014, and saw that target become a reality when voters said “no” to Scotland breaking away. Cameron has also said the U.K. will go ahead with another referendum, this time deciding whether it will stay or leave the European Union.

“I want to bring our country together, our United Kingdom together, not least by implementing as fast as we can the devolution that we rightly promised and came together with other parties to agree both for Wales and for Scotland,” the British PM added.

“In short, I want my party, and I hope a government I would like to lead, to reclaim a mantle that we should never have lost – the mantle of One Nation, One United Kingdom. That is how I will govern if I am fortunate enough to form a government in the coming days.”

Labour leader Ed Miliband said that the blame for the results lies on his shoulders: “The responsibility for the result is mine alone.”

Fox News and other outlets called Thursday’s elections one of “the most unpredictable in decades,” and pointed out that opinions polls for months had failed to suggest a clear favorite. Almost 50 million people had registered to vote, though final numbers are yet to be released.

Cameron has talked about his Christian faith on a number of occasion during his time as U.K. leader. During his Easter message earlier this year, he called Christianity the “bedrock of a good society.”

His stance on social issues, such as his support for gay marriage, has clashed with conservatives, and with the Church of England, which does not support the practice.

Cameron has said that while he can’t call himself a “model church-going, God-fearing Christian,” he relies strongly on his faith, and argued that faith is an inspiration for millions of people to make a positive difference in their communities.

214 Women and Children Rescued From Boko Haram Are Pregnant

More than 200 women and children rescued last week by the Nigerian military from Boko Haram’s stronghold in the Sambisa Forest in Borno State, Nigeria, are said to be pregnant and two brave women from the group have spoken out about their harrowing experience with the militant Islamic group.

On April 28, 234 women and children were rescued from Boko Haram in northeast Nigeria and sent to a refugee camp in Yola where they are being treated and receiving aid. According to the United Nations Population Fund, which is providing support to the rescued hostages, at least 2 – 14 of them are visibly pregnant.

“A large number of girls and women rescued from Boko Haram have been found to be pregnant,” said Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. “We do not know yet the total number of pregnant girls among those rescued. The screening is still ongoing.”

A reported 677 women, most of whom were abducted in the past nine months, have been rescued from the Islamic militants in recent weeks.

Among them is Asabe Aliyu, a 23-year-old mother of four who was abducted from Delsak village in northeast Nigeria six months ago by Boko Haram. She recalled being raped repeatedly by different men on a daily basis and even being forced to marry one of her attackers.

“I was abducted six months ago in Delsak when our village was overrun by Boko Haram,” the pregnant and teary-eyed Aliyu, told Nigerian paper The Daily Times. “First I had sojourned from my village to a forest close to Cameroun, they turned me into a sex machine. They took turns to sleep with me. Now, I am pregnant and I cannot identify the father.”

Hundreds more, including 27-year-old Lami Musa, suffered the same ordeal and in addition to being physically and emotionally abused and tortured, she recalled being subject to deplorable living conditions at the Boko Haram camp in northeast Nigeria.

“They abducted the whole of my family and killed my husband at Kilkasa forest when I was four months pregnant. They took us to Sambisa forest, we were sleeping in an open field. For days, we went without water or food,” said Musa, while clutching her 3-day-old baby. “As I am talking to you, I cannot ascertain the status of her health. I have not had a bath since I was delivered of the baby. The baby is yet to be bathed too.”

In an interview with The Christian Post Thursday, pastor Laolu Akande, executive director of the Christian Association of Nigerian-Americans, said he believes the militants raped and impregnated the women out of sheer “evil-mindedness.”

“What this has shown us is the outright, evil-mindedness of the terrorists. They believe that when they impregnate women like that, they will produce children who will not be catered for in this society who will then grow up becoming disgruntled in society and ultimately become terrorists,” said Akande. “To them, it’s part of the enlargement of their evil ideological commitments to keep it going and raise children who will become terrorists.”

According to Akande, children of rape surviviors are often born into complex circumstances making them ideal targets for terrorist recruitment.

“It’s a very precarious situation to have somebody raped, many people can’t decide how they’re going to raise that kind of a child,” he said. “You look at the child and then you remember the evil that was done to you, so they were hoping that these children who would be raised of these very nefarious pregnancies, not that anything is wrong with the children, but their plan and their strategy is to raise children that will continue their [evil].”

Nearly 300 female captives were rescued from Boko Haram last week during raids by the Nigerian military and then transported to safety after three days on the road. Many are said to be traumatized and distressed and subsequently UNFPA is providing counseling to help them adjust back into normal society.

The U.N. agency is said to be providing aid in the form of donated food supplies, reproductive health kits and dignity kits to assist with childbirth at the Malkohi camp outside the city of Yola. In the last year, UNFPA has taken deliveries of over 16,000 pregnancies in northeast Nigeria, although it is unclear whether they are all related to the terrorist group.

“Boko Haram were cruel to them,” said UNFPA executive director Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin, according to Daily Mail. “They were denied food and denied sleep. They were used almost as slaves. They were forced to cook for the Boko Haram fighters and look after them. Sometimes they were used as sex slaves. At least 2 – 14 have been made pregnant and there are stories of rape.”

The rescue comes more than one year after the militant group abducted 276 female students from Chibok, Borno, prompting the global campaign “Bring Back Our Girls” to encourage their safe return. Officials have said the Chibok abductees were not among those rescued in the Sambisa forest.

“One year of captivity is a long time for anyone to bear,” said Osotimehin on the one year anniversary of the famous abduction. “It has been a year full of unimaginable suffering and anguish, not just for the girls, their families and their communities, but also for the world at large. It is time for the girls and all other abductees to resume their lives in peace. It is time for this nightmare to come to an end.”

For nearly six years Boko Haram has wreaked havoc in northeastern Nigeria and killed thousands of innocent civilians, mostly Christians, in the name of terrorism. Experts say the group, which advocates a strict form of Shariah law, is the second deadliest terrorist group in the world after Afghanistan’s Taliban.

‘A.D. The Bible Continues’ Returns With Intensified Persecution; ‘Beyond A.D.’ to Feature Kirk Cameron, All Sons & Daughters

AD NBC (Photo by: Joe Alblas/LightWorkers Media/NBC)

Christian Post Report – A scene from the new NBC series, “A.D.: The Bible Continues,” which airs on 12 consecutive Sundays beginning Easter weekend 2015.

“A.D. The Bible Continues” fans can look forward to both a brand new episode as well as an exciting edition of the hit series’ companion talk show “Beyond A.D.” featuring Kirk Cameron and All Sons & Daughters on Sunday.

Roma Downey and Mark Burnett’s follow up to the “Bible” series returns to NBC with more from the book of Acts, including stories about the early church and intensifying persecution against Jesus’ first followers.

All Sons & Daughters guitarist David Leonard spoke to The Christian Post about his reaction to “A.D. The Bible Continues” as well as his musical guest appearance on “Beyond A.D.” this week.

“I can’t help to be drawn to tears,” said the musician of NBC’s television series. “I avoid those things, sometimes I’m afraid of emotion. To see it on screen so beautifully just brings so many different emotions. Just to see the interaction between all the guys after Jesus is crucified and the doubts – there are moments of my own life when I ask, ‘Where are you, God you’re here,’ so much of that. I’m honored to have been a part of this in the small way [that] we have been, it’s been beautiful. People are being moved and changed by it.”

Leonard told CP that the overwhelming response to “A.D. The Bible Continues” represents a need for biblical content on television.

“People are looking for truth, they are looking for something they can simply connect with and be who they are, and Scripture allows that,” the musician continued. “What we see with [“A.D. The Bible Continues”] is truth. We are tied back to truth and things that we know, people [are] constantly looking for that and a place to express how they feel. The show allows them to feel those things, and feel in a different way than they have before.”

All Sons & Daughters is comprised of Leonard as well as lead vocalist Leslie Jordan, and the Christian duo will perform their song “Buried In the Grave” on Sunday’s episode of “Beyond A.D.,” available for streaming on NBC.com at 9 a.m. ET.

Hosted by Jason Kennedy, “Beyond A.D.” is taped before a live audience and serves as a discussion platform for plans, cast, producers and special celebrity and musical guests. In addition to the performance by All Sons & Daughters, Sunday will see “Fireproof” star Kirk Cameron join “A.D. The Bible Continues” actress Chipo Chung as they cover both the historical and spiritual topics depicted in the series.

Meanwhile, Sunday’s sixth episode of “A.D. The Bible Continues” will see Peter under pressure to look after Jesus’ flock as Saul begins to persecute the church. Furthermore, Caiaphas’s position comes under threat from both Antipas and his own family. Pilate plays them all against each other.

“A.D. The Bible Continues” episode six will air on NBC at 9 p.m. ET Sunday, May 10. The encore of last week’s episode five will air directly before the new installment.

Gospel Star Tina Campbell Quashes Suggestions of Rivalry With Sister Erica

Tina Campbel (Photo: AMC Networks)

Christian Post Report – Mary Mary’s Tina Campbell

Gospel star Tina Campbell, formerly of the music duo Mary Mary in which she performed with her sister Erica Campbell, has quashed suggestions that there is now a rivalry between her and her sibling since they both embarked on solo music careers.

Campbell,41, released her debut solo album “It’s Personal” and book “I Need A Day To Pray” May 7. Her sister Erica Campbell released her own solo debut album “Help” last March and received a number of awards for the project, including a Grammy award.

Since Tina is beginning her own journey into solo music territory, a number of people have been comparing the sisters on social media and suggested there may be an ongoing rivalry. Tina however has made it clear that the sisters are nothing but loving and supportive of each other’s solo work.

“Erica and Tina are each others biggest supporters. We are the best of sisters,” Tina told Parlé magazine when asked about the suggestions. “We love each other, we ain’t in competition with each other. I’m not Erica, I’m not trying to be Erica, she’s not me, she’s not trying to be me.”

She further suggested that people stop comparing them.

“The world can put us in competition with each other and do all those things but I would suggest that they don’t because that’s not our truth,” Tina told the magazine. “We’re real sisters who really support each other.”

Tina previously took to Instagram to reveal some of the well-known people that would be featured on her new projects, including her husband Teddy Campbell, sister Erica, brother-in-law Warryn Campbell, and mother Honey Atkins.

“Who’s on Tina Campbell’s solo album entitled it’s personal,” Tina noted on Instagram. “Stevie Wonder, Teddy Campbell, Erica Campbell, Warryn Campbell, Honey Atkins, Aaron Lindsey, The Underdogs, Eddie Brown, Jason White, Donald Lawrence & his singers, PJ Morton, Shanta Atkins, Allen Sides, Joel Osteen’s church choir, my kids, me, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost! U oughta buy it May 7th!!!”

Last November, the gospel singer created a special night where she previewed her upcoming book, solo music and testimony at her church called “An Evening With Tina Campbell.”

“I figured I would create the model or create the event, create what God gave me to give to the world and we’ll just see what He does with it. I mean, I really wanted to share with people what He’s done,” Tina told CP about the event in an earlier interview. “When people go through devastating scenarios in their lives they go through a great transformation. Sometimes I’m singing that, sometimes I’m saying that, sometimes I’m praying and confessing that.”

Christian Post Report – U.S. Olympic Track and Field athlete Lolo Jones poses at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports 2014 award show in Los Angeles. California, July 17, 2014.

Track and field star athlete Lolo Jones, recently defended her Christian faith to a Twitter follower who called her a hypocrite for admonishing people about the film “50 Shades Of Grey” but advocated for boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., a reputed domestic abuser.

“So I hear that @lolojones had an issue with 50 shades, which was fictional, yet preaches forgiveness for @FloydMayweather,” Twitter user @podunk69 said before questioning Jones, 32, on the social medium. “Hypocrite much?”

Jones retweeted the message for her more than 400,000 followers to see then defended her faith and a photo she posted of herself and Mayweather last week.

“Incorrect,” Jones responded to her critic. “If I were a Christian and didn’t preach/practice forgiveness or purity that actually makes me a hypocrite.”

Earlier this year, Jones warned people against watching the movie “50 Shades Of Grey,” the erotic drama with sadomasochistic themes.

“Funny how some people think there’s nothing wrong with 50 shades of Grey,” the track and field athlete tweeted. “God didn’t create sex for that purpose. Watch another movie.”

The tweet received backlash, but Jones stood by her beliefs. Three months later, the athlete drew the ire of some people when she posed with professional boxing champion Mayweather, ahead of his big fight with Christian pugilist Manny Pacquiao. Since Mayweather has previously been convicted for crimes involving domestic violence, many questioned why Jones would choose to pose with the boxer.

She defended her reasoning for doing so by letting it be known that her father had a history of domestic violence, and that it was her job to forgive and love people.

“God’s judgements reigns higher. So you can ask how can I post a picture with him,” she wrote. “And I say, ‘if I can’t take a picture with him I guess I should remove the pictures of my dad in my home as well.'”

Her first marriage to the father of her son Dean Knight ended in divorce shortly after she became a Christian. In 1989 she wed preacher and evangelist Randy White and the two founded Without Walls International Church in Tampa, Florida some two years later in 1991.

She divorced Randy White in 2007 and left Without Walls in 2011 after rumors of an affair between her and fellow televangelist and faith healer Benny Hinn surfaced in the National Enquirer in 2010. The tabloid published a photo of the two holding hands in Rome, Italy.

Hinn, who was married at the time the photo was taken said there was “nothing inappropriate or morally improper” about his relationship with White in a statement on his website.

White denied the affair with Hinn at a leadership conference hosted by T.D. Jakes in 2011.

“They’re going to talk about you and write … because it sells ragtag magazines,” she said. “They’re going to lie on you but God’s going to tell you to keep your mouth shut.”

She currently serves as Senior Pastor at New Destiny Christian Center in Apopka, Florida and succeeded its former leader Zachery Tims who died from “acute intoxication by the combined effects of cocaine and heroin” in 2011 in a New York City hotel room, according to the NYC chief medical examiner’s office.

White is Cain’s fourth wife. His first marriage was to singer Tane McClure.
