Christian Post Report – Fast & Furious 7 finally announces its release date.

Following the record box office success of “Fast and Furious 7,” one of the movie’s stars is already talking about a sequel. Vin Diesel recently hinted on a new storyline for the next movie as well as a new character. Rumors have also started circulating that Paul Walker’s younger brother Cody is interested in continuing the role that his brother played if he is considered.

During an interview on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show, Vin Diesel talked about the role that the actor Kurt Russell played in the recent movie. He hinted that the next movie’s setting will be in New York City and that Kurt Russell’s character will play a major part in the sequel.

“You know I always think of these films multiple pictures in advance. I think of them as trilogies. Kurt Russell came in for this movie, but he was really, we really hired him because of a story that follows this. That takes place in New York,” he said.

Another cast member, Dwayne Johnson, was said to have confirmed that he will reprise his role in the movie. He also mentioned a conversation he had with Diesel about “raising the bar” not only in terms of action but also in story and characters.

On the issue of who will play the role that Paul Walker left if there will be a sequel, reports are saying that his younger brother who is also an actor, Cody Walker, has indicated his interest. He was the one tapped to finish his brother’s scenes in the “Fast and Furious 7” after Paul’s death. Cody’s manager said that “Cody might be keen on working in Fast and Furious 8 if the producers were interested in signing him on.”

These reports are unconfirmed.

Universal Pictures has yet to confirm reports about a sequel in the works.

Christian Post Report – Actress Sarah Jessica Parker poses at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles June 1, 2008.

Sarah Jessica Parker has been announced to star in a new TV show on HBO over a decade after the popular “Sex and the City” aired its series finale.

Sarah Jessica Parker of “Sex and the City” fame, is returning to HBO for a new comedy show, “Divorce,” a departure from her fashionista columnist character Carrie Bradshaw from her previous award-winning series.

While fans of “Sex and the City” may expect a crossover of the popular show, the new series will present a different storyline and set of characters altogether.

“Divorce” tells the story of a long and drawn-out separation between spouses, played by Parker, 50, and “Wings” actor, Thomas Haden Church, who plays her husband.

Parker will take on the role of Frances, who, after making a lengthy evaluation of her life and marriage, decides to make a clean break from her husband, Robert (Church) in order to start fresh, but finds the whole process more difficult than she expects it to be.

Like “Sex and the City,” “Divorce will be set in New York, and has a cast of characters that include Talia Balsam as Dallas and Molly Shannon as Diane, two of Frances’ close friends. “Flight of the Conchords” actor Jermaine Clement has also been signed for a part in the new series.

“Divorce” was written and created by actress Sharon Horgan, who also penned “Pulling,” “Angelo’s,” and “Dead Boss.”

The new HBO series was greenlighted for a pilot in February, and while no further information on a premiere date has been set, the show is likely to get an 8 to 10-episode run for the first season.

Parker, who was last seen on TV in three episodes of Glee’s season four where she played Isabelle Wright, has just completed filming “All Roads Lead to Rome,” which is slated for release this year.

Changes and Upgrades for ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Costumes Revealed (VIDEO)

Avengers Age of Ultron Avengers: Age of Ultron/Facebook

Christian Post Report – Avengers: Age of Ultron. Facebook image. March 1, 2015.

New changes in superhero costumes have been announced just two weeks before “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” hits the big screen.

While audiences have viewed a number of different trailers and movie posters for “The Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Marvel has just released the details of characters’ costume changes since the last installment was released.

With superhero costumes considered a constant work in progress, wardrobe designers have added several changes over the years, and costumes for Marvel’s Avengers have not been made exempt from the upgrades.

Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow suit received the most alterations for “Age of Ultron.” The suit came with a big battery pack the actress had to drag around with her wherever she went to accommodate the firing of electrical blasts of energy at the enemy. Added to her pregnancy during the shooting of the movie (Johansson gave birth to a baby girl in September last year), her suit had to be modified to hide her growing stomach, making it the most uncomfortable wardrobe to wear on set.

Chris Hemsworth had his metal scale sleeves removed from his classic Thor costume, unveiling his muscled arms, a sight his female fans in the audience are likely to appreciate when the movie premieres on May 1. A grateful Hemsworth told Kevin Polowy of Yahoo Movies in an interview the sleeves were “ridiculously hot and uncomfortable.”

Paul Bettany, who plays J.A.R.V.I.S. come to life in the person of Vision, also complained about the heat in his first costumed role.

Mark Ruffalo, who escaped being costumed throughout the movie as his Hulk character is a CGI-version of him, was at first envious of his co-stars until he saw then carrying portable air conditioners around the set.

“I’m like, ‘I’m kinda stoked I don’t have to wear a costume. But no, I want a superhero suit, though,” He told Yahoo!

Björk Sings About Healing in 2015 Album, ‘Vulnicura’

Bjork (Photo: Wikipedia/File)

Christian Post Report – Björk performing at the Biophilia Tour in 2013.

Björk released a new album, “Vulnicura” earlier than previously announced because the album leaked prior to its release. The album came out in January, two months earlier than its planned March release.

The eighth studio album is a personal journey for the Icelandic artist as she previously shared in her Facebook posts. Björk shared that she penned the six of the nine songs in “Vulnicura” and that is “a complete heartbreak album” with an “emotional chronology” to it.

The album’s track list includes:
1. “Stonemilker”
2. “Lionsong”
3. “History of Touches”
4. “Black Lake”
5. “Family”
6. “Notget”
7. “Atom Dance” featuring Antony Hegarty
8. “Mouth Mantra”
9. “Quicksand”

The singer hopes that the song would serve as a universal message of how the process of heartbreak can be a biological one: “The wound and the healing of the wound. Psychologically and physically, it has a stubborn clock attached to it.”

The album’s title “Vulnicura” translates to “Cure for Wounds” (Vulnus + Cura). It’s about what may come to a person at the end of a relationship. It talks about the dialogues we may have in our heads and in our hearts, the healing processes.”

The album debuted No. 20 on the Billboard Top 200. Co-produced with Arca, who is also Kanye’s producer, “Vulnicura” is the singer’s first album in four years after her 2011 album “Biophilia.” She shares that it was in the summer of 2013 that Arca approached her and dropped a possibility of working together. The Venezuelan producer describes working with Björk as a form of “healing.”

“The way she exists as a human being is a big influence on the way I exist as a human,” he added.

Björk also opened her Museum of Modern Art exhibition last March 7 in New York. The exhibit featured a visual narrative of Björk’s singing career.

There is no news yet, if the eccentric singer will go on a full tour for “Vulnicura” but Björk has had intimate shows in New York.

‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ News Trailer and Release Date (VIDEO)

Star Wars Battlefront YouTube Screengrab

Christian Post Report – Star Wars Battlefront is set for release on November 17.

EA recently released the teaser for its action video game “Stars Wars: Battlefront” a few days after the release date leaked from the game’s official website.

Electronic Arts and EA Digital Illusions CE released a cinema-quality trailer for the latest entry in its “Star Wars: Battlefront” series after news inadvertently leaked over its Nov. 17 release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The sci-fi multiplayer action game is set to launch just before “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” premieres in theaters, and EA played the realistic teaser trailer for the game at the Star Wars Celebration Friday at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.

Six years after waiting for a third game, fans and players of the series were treated to Storm Troopers in hot pursuit of rebel speeders in the forest of Endor, while dogfights between X-wing and TIE fighters explode in the skies, and an AT-AT takes a hit and falls.

A black glove with a red lightsaber announces the appearance of Darth Vader, and the scene shifts to another battle taking place in the snow-covered hills of Hoth, which segues to a dogfight over stony cliffs, and TIE fighters zooming out of a ship’s hangar.

EA did not specify whether the teaser contained actual game footage or pre-rendered scenes from the game’s engine itself, but impressed the convention’s audience with the realistic clip and sound effects.

“Star Wars: Battlefront is set up to support up to 40 players divided between the forces of the Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance battling it out using Star Wars weapons and vehicles like blasters, jetpacks, AT-STs, AT-AT war machines, speeder bikes, snow speeders, X-wings, TIE fighters, and even the Millennium Falcon, among many others.

Players of the multi-shooter game will be able to traverse a number of locations, including Endor, Hoth, Tattoine, and the previously unexplored planet of Sullust in missions where they can opt to play alone, or with a friend via split-screen.

Pre-orders for “Battle of Jakku,” a “Force Awakens”-themed DLC for the game starts Dec. 1 this year, for players who prefer to receive the downloadable content a week before its official Dec. 8 launch.

Viva Forever! Mel B. Hints of Spice Girls Reunion

Christian Post Report – Spice Girls perform at London Olympics 2012

Could the fans of the phenomenal all-girl band Spice Girls sing “Wannabe,” “Mama,” and “2 Become 1” once again as the group reunite for their 20th anniversary?

In a recent interview with E! News, Mel B hinted of a possible reunion with the girls.

“I mean, we got together for the Olympics and nobody thought that we were going to get together for that,” the 39-year-old said. “Next year is our 20th anniversary so we’ll see. Maybe we’ll do something. Who knows?”

Mel B., who judges “America’s Got Talent,” shares that she recently talked with Geri Haliwell and of the upcoming little reunion that they would have in England.

“We talk a lot and we text and we Facetime. I was just Facetiming Geri the other day, she’s about to get married so we’re going to go over to England for her wedding,” she said.

Mel B. isn’t the only Spice Girl who welcomes the idea of coming together for another show.

“It’s funny isn’t it because people are saying it’s the 20 year anniversary of The Spice Girls, and we did get together in ’94, but Wannabe wasn’t released until ’96 so we don’t really see it until ’96,” Mel B. “And you might see a few of us having a little dance about on stage, no plans, but we’ll see what we can do for you.”

Emma Bunton said, “I was with Geri and Mel B just recently, we love each other and we love performing together…It’s just when the timing is right because we all have our own careers now and we have families, it’s just about getting five schedules together and that’s all it is.”

The group had a well-received reunion tour in 2007, “The Return of the Spice Girls” and they recently performed during the 2012 London Summer Olympics.

Will the group ask their fans, “Say You’ll Be There” on their much awaited reunion?

Sadie Robertson shared a photo on Instagram on April 15, 2015.

Christian Post Report – Sadie Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” is praying that “The Duck Commander Musical” inspires audiences upon the production’s premiere in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

The 17-year-old reality television star joined her entire family at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino to celebrate the opening night of “The Duck Commander Musical,” which is based on the best-selling book, “The Duck Commander Family,” written by Sadie’s parents, Willie and Korie Robertson.

“We laughed, we cried, and then we laughed so hard we cried,” Robertson wrote on Instagram along with a photo taken after the show. “So proud of my mom, dad, and whole family. So amazing.”

Furthermore, Robertson shared a prayer for “The Duck Commander Musical” in hopes that the Broadway show reaches audience members.

“Thanking God for it all & praying to God this musical touches people’s life,” the teen added. “It sure did touch mine.”

Robertson and her family rose to fame on A&E’s “Duck Dynasty.” The reality series follows the family from their West Monroe, Louisiana home and the family’s hunting company, Duck Commander. While Sadie revealed her prayer for the musical, her father Willie described the show as a “positive option” for Las Vegas tourists.

“There are a lot of things in Vegas, and our musical gives somebody something to do that they know they can trust,” the Duck Commander CEO said while speaking to The Christian Post. “They can know that they can go to [The Duck Commander Musical] with their families and spouses and not be embarrassed. I remember seeing a show just amongst friends – we saw things that were inappropriate, but you can go to the musical and it’s safe.”

Meanwhile, the new musical has garnered largely positive reviews from critics, and the production director Jeff Calhoun assured audiences the new musical will move you.

“Fans will be pleasantly surprised how personal the story is – it goes behind the scenes of the family with real emotional depth, hardship, and redemption,” he explained. “The show has a great score with lots of comedy and lots of heart. I only like to do shows with lots of heart.”

Sickness, Discomfort and Death: the Fate of Families and Children With No Access to Clean Water (CP in Zambia – Part 1)

Editor’s note: The Christian Post was invited by World Vision Zambia to meet with locals who’ve been impacted by the organization’s water, sanitation and hygiene program. This is the first of a series of articles on that trip, which took place March 22-28.

Christian Post Report – Mira Buumba, 55, could have died. Or so it seemed when she became severely ill from a bout of diarrhea. Unable to take care of herself, much less do common household chores, Buumba’s grandchildren had to skip school to help take care of her. Neither Ms. Buumba nor her family had any idea what had made her so gravely ill, further complicating the situation. They did not realize, until later, that the cause of her sickness was the very water that her family and neighbors had been using everyday to cook, clean and keep themselves hydrated.

“If you saw her photo you would be shocked,” World Vision Zambia Communications Officer Collins Kaumba, serving as a guide and translator, said relating her previous condition.

But Ms. Buumba was not the only one who had fallen sick, experienced discomfort, or, in the case of one of her grandchildren, suffered a strange eye infection.

The residents of Bulanda village in Hamaundu in southern Zambia, specifically those at the Buumba homestead, used to fetch their water from a dam and nearby pond. The pond was their most recent source, as well as the water source for dogs and pigs. In one instance, a dog had drowned in the pond. But the girls, regularly tasked with fetching water, did not discover the dead animal in the water until its body had started to rot and burst open.

Their only option was to remove the dog carcass and continue using this water source. The only other source for them was the dam, where people would fish — and also relieve themselves.

School girls in Bulanda village explain how they used to draw water from this pond, where they once found a dead dog. This photo was taken on March 24, 2015, in Zambia.

But Bulanda village now has a borehole and a water pump, which was officially opened to the community in October 2014.

Ms. Bummba said that before the borehole, “I never used to think I’d ever have a future or even think that I would be here today. Because I was one of those who was always sick. Now that they’ve brought this borehole and they started drinking from that borehole, I realized that everything changed. That made me realize that actually, that water was causing the problems.”

“For this borehole, now we can safely say we have a friend who really loves us,” she said, before adding a brief prayer. “Together, with you and us, we pray in the name of Jesus that we continue moving together.”

World Vision Zambia Communications Officer Collins Kaumba speaks with school girls on March 24, 2015, at a village in Bulanda in Hamaundu, Zambia.

Ms. Buumba contributed her emergence from death’s door to the work of World Vision Zambia during a visit with The Christian Post at Bulanda village in late March. CP had traveled to Zambia for a week-long visit at the invitation of the Christian nonprofit.

World Vision, founded in 1950, provides relief, development and advocacy assistance to economically-challenged children, their families and their communities. World Vision states on its website that it works “in nearly 100 countries, serving all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.”

The organization began its work in Zambia in 1981, by directing its attention to three community programs in one district. By 1995, World Vision Zambia had introduced what it calls Area Development Programs, or ADPs. These ADPs, currently numbering 39, spanning 29 districts and affecting more than 2 million people, provide service and education in the areas of health, nutrition, education, livelihood security and economic development.

This CP reporter, along with another journalist, a blogger, a D.C.-based World Vision media relations manager, and local World Vision Zambia staff, visited various villages and communities between March 23 and 27 to see and hear what differences, if any, clean water had been making in the lives of their members.

One particular program that CP saw the effects of up close, the one which Ms. Buumba praised, is World Vision Zambia’s initiative called WASH, an acronym that stands for water, sanitation and hygiene. Based on what CP observed during time in the field with local staff and villagers, success of World Vision Zambia’s many other programs seem to rely heavily on whether communities embrace and implement WASH.

As seen with the Buumbas, villagers reliant on unsanitary water for bathing, laundry, cooking, cleaning and for drinking expose themselves to everything from diarrhea to typhoid, and bacterial diseases that are especially crippling for children.

The infant mortality rate is 70 for every 1,000 births, which places Zambia on the list of countries with the highest rate of deaths of children under the age of 1. More than 5,000 children die every year due to diarrhea, while other deadly factors include malnutrition and HIV and AIDS, according to UNICEF. The United Nations organization also reports that 4.8 million people (36 percent of the population) do not have access to clean water, while 6.6 million lack access to proper restrooms — factors present also at schools. Zambia’s population numbers around 14.5 million people.

Drinking dirty water day in and day out not only exposes one to sickness, disease and death, and disrupts a child’s education and potential for future mobility, but dirty water also kills cattle, which puts another dent in the livelihoods of villagers who rely on farming and herding to put food on the table and money in their pockets.

Ms. Buumba was so grateful for the radical change that a clean water source had brought to her health, and the well-being of her family and of the Bulanda community, that she broke out in song after a blogger in the visiting party asked, “What are their hopes for their children and their grandchildren?”

A dozen or so children, sitting under the shade of two trees, a handful of men sitting on their right, and a handful of women on their left — all representing about 10 families that had gathered at the Buumba homestead to share their stories — were quick to join Ms. Buumba in her song when the matriarch stood to her feet, opened her arms and then opened her mouth.

The video below gives a glimpse of Ms. Buumba singing and dancing, while the audio player beneath it provides a full clip of her song, and Kaumba’s translation.

“We sing this song to show our joy when we saw that borehole,” Ms. Buumba said after finishing her song, as translated from the Tongo by Kaumba. “We’re actually thinking and trying to relate how we used to live. The moment we saw the borehole we felt a bit strengthened, and from that point when we started using the water we no longer suffered from diarrhea again.”

She added, “We were very excited because one of the challenges we had was that these children could not go to school because they used to spend time to take care of us whenever we were sick most of the time, as a result of diarrhea. Because of that borehole, we believe now that these children have a future and will help us have a future too.”

Sarah Jessica Parker Back on HBO With New Series ‘Divorce’

Sarah Jessica Parker (Photo: Reuters/File)

Christian Post Report – Sarah Jessica Parker is shown in this file photo.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker, star of the iconic HBO series “Sex and the City,” is returning to the network that made her a major star. HBO welcomes Parker back as the star of an upcoming series simply entitled “Divorce.”

The new series will also be a comedy and will star Parker as Frances, a woman who is desperately trying to start anew after the end of her marriage. Her soon-to-be ex-husband will be played by Thomas Haden Church and in her personal journey, she will be surrounded two friends, the “uptight one” to be played by Molly Shannon and one called “Dallas” to be played by Talia Balsam. According to a report in Vogue, the comedy will once again be set in New York and will “tell the story of a long-gestating separation.”

Parker, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight Online with Melissa Rivers, explained why she was interesting in doing the project which she is also producing.

“It was an area of particular interest for me because I’m married, and I love being married, and I’m happily married,” she said. Parker has been married to actor Matthew Broderick since 1997.

In addition, she said that she wanted to create “a portrait of divorce” which stems from her belief that marriage and divorce means different things for different people.

“I think marriage is wonderfully complicated and wonderfully interesting, and everybody conducts their marriage differently. We know almost nothing about people’s marriage, because even those who we’re most intimate with in friendships, we don’t always share the good or the bad. And I just think that at a certain point, some people feel alone and lost,” she said.

The story of divorce, she also said, was something most people may be able to relate to, as some of them may have experienced it already, or are about to experience it.

Sharon Horgan is penning the new show. The series will start production in New York later in the year.
