‘Outlander’ Episode 10 News, Spoilers: Book Character Duke of Sandringham Makes His TV Debut

Christian Post Report – Youtube Screengrab: Starz’s new TV series ‘Outlander’ based on the novel series of the same title written by Diana Gabaldon.

Starz hit historical fiction show “Outlander” returned last week with a bang and spoiler reports suggested that fans of the series should expect more of it when the next episode titled “By the Pricking of My Thumbs” arrives this week to their small screens.

One of the exciting highlights would be the introduction of the character Duke of Sandringham, played by Simon Callow, who will come in coercion with Claire (Caitriona Balfe).

Two new promo clips for the upcoming episode was released by the network where it featured the accidental time-traveller confronting the Duke regarding his friendship with Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies).

The Duke, as shown in the video, appears to be agitated with Claire and took the former’s statement as “libellous.” The monarch later concedes that even if such relationship existed, it certainly wouldn’t affect his reputation.

The other teaser, meanwhile showed Claire and Geillis (Lette Verbeek) strolling around the woods when they hear a baby crying. Eager to check on the infant, Geillis prompted Claire not to do so as the baby could actually be a “changeling,” creatures that belong to the fairies.

Meanwhile, E! Online’s Spoiler Chat segment indicated that the show’s upcoming Episode 11 will see “two jaw-dropping shockers” for those non-readers and followers of the TV series.

“A grown-up would tell you that it’s another fantastic episode, filled with brilliant acting and writing, and gearing up for episode 11 (airing April 18), which has two jaw-dropping shockers for anyone who hasn’t read the books. Two moments that change everything moving forward,” the site wrote.

For the meantime, “Outlander” Episode 10 “By the Pricking of My Thumbs” airs this Saturday, April 11, at 9 p.m. on Starz.

Christian Post Report – ABC’s “Revenge”

After about a week-long hiatus from the airwaves, ABC’s hit TV series “Revenge” will finally return with more suspense, intrigue and drama in the upcoming segment titled “Exposure.”

Spoiler reports indicated that the brand new episode will pick up from the events of last week’s showing titled “Clarity.”

Fans will find out that Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) won’t let Emily (Emily VanCamp) have a peaceful and “promising future” now that she has already revealed to everyone her real identity as David Clark’s (James Tupper) long-lost daughter, Amanda.

A synopsis from The Futon Critic indicated that the Grayson matriarch will bring more misery to Amanda’s life by uncovering “devastating new secrets” from her past. These new revelations could also threaten the things that the young Clark has accomplished as Emily.

Aside from Victoria, Emily’s close ally, Nolan (Gabriel Mann), seems devastated and at the same time disappointed with the events happening on Emily. Nolan has strongly disagreed with Emily’s big reveal plans from the start. Now that everything was left to the open, could this mean that their friendship will be affected?

To add to the list of people unhappy with Emily’s decision, Ben (Brian Hallisay) appears dismayed and might be having second thoughts of pursuing her romantic plans with the Hampton resident.

However, not everyone in Hampton is going against Emily. Christian Today said that her childhood friend, Jack, (Nick Wechsler) is “surprisingly happy” with Emily’s revelation. Will the turn of events be favourable in his part?

Find out when “Revenge” Season 4 airs this Sunday, April 12 at 10 p.m. on ABC.

‘Need for Speed 2’ News, Update: US-China Co-Production Sequel in Development

Need for Speed YOUTUBESCREENSHOT/ Need for Speed

Christian Post Report – Aaron Paul as Tobey in 2013 “Need for Speed”

Although the Aaron Paul-led street racing film “Need for Speed” had relatively low performance ratings in the U.S. theaters, the film, which is adapted from Electronics Arts game saw huge success in China by hitting over $65 million in box office sales.

With the said data, it wouldn’t really be a surprise when the movie gets a sequel. In fact, a report from The Wrap said that a development for a second film is currently being ironed out between China and the U.S.

The report indicated that a joint venture film project spearheaded by “China Movie Channel Program Center, Jiaflix Enterprises and 1905 Pictures” are now teaming with EA through their representative, UTA, on a second instalment to Scott Waugh’s high-octane action thriller film.

“We are excited to work with EA, one of the world’s most recognized creative companies. We are also delighted that much of ‘Need for Speed 2’ would be filmed in China, and we believe it will include much more Chinese talent and elements,” Yin Cao, chairman of China Movie Channel, told The Wrap.

“This venture is another great endeavor to bridge the cultures between China and the West through films. We look forward to cooperating with excellent films and filmmakers to thrill and entertain movie lovers internationally with more outstanding films with Chinese labels,” Cao added.

The project, however, is still on the lookout for a new director, a new writer and a new cast. Production for “Need For Speed 2” is “anticipated to begin later this year.” Creative and casting details are expected to be announced in the following weeks.

It was meanwhile revealed that as part of the partnership deal, the upcoming film would take place in China and would feature a “significant” number of Chinese actors.

Android 5.1 Update News: New Features, To Nexus, Xperia Z Ultra and Moto Availability

Android CREDIT: REUTERS/BECK DIEFENBACH

Christian Post Report – Android mascots are lined up in the demonstration area at the Google I/O Developers Conference in the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, May 10, 2011.

The Android 5.1 update is currently rolling out, and is now available for Nexus, Xperia Z Ultra, Moto, and other GPE devices.

Nexus 5, 7 and 10, Xperia Z Ultra and Moto G and X, the HTC One M8, and LG G Pad 8.3 devices, as well as other handsets running Google Play edition are getting their Android 5.1 update as it slowly rolls out across mobile devices.

Bumping up devices to version LMY47D, the update is 212MB and brings tweaks, changes, and bug fixes. It also modifies the way devices handle notification disruptions, and improves stability and performance.

Android 5.1 is Lollipop’s first major maintenance release. While appearing almost similar to the 5.0, it brings several subtle changes to the table, including a more polished quick settings panel that endows icons with new animation, and allows users to hop between Bluetooth and WiFi access points with the addition of dropdown arrows next to each setting.

Android 5.1 will provide users dual SIM support, and a revamped screen pinning feature with an App Pinning menu under Settings in Security. When users first pin an app, the upgrade will show which buttons need to be pressed to keep the device in pinned mode.

The update will also offer Device Protection to secure devices if they get lost or stolen. The feature prevents thieves from factory resetting a device, and effectively bricks a phone with the absence of the user’s Google account login details. When it rolls out to Nexus 6 and 9, the feature will also offer full disk encryption.

Android 5.1 won’t be providing a “mute” mode, but tweaks to the volume and interruption sliders make it easier for users to choose between icons labeled “None,” “All,” or “Priority,” complete with a specific time period.

Other changes include Clock app animations, removal of the covered overlay on contact profile photos, a bug fix for the effect that “sticks” the soft key glow when swiping, a new status bar icon indicating the absence of a SIM, and a default NuPlayer content streaming app.

iPad Mini 4 News: Leaked Photos Released, Upgrade Soon to Be Unveiled? (VIDEO)

iPad Mini 4 Reuters/File

Christian Post Report – Reuters claims Sharp has all but stopped producing iPad Retina displays.

Rumors have been circulating online over Apple’s reported update on the iPad mini, with photos of what is believed to be the iPad mini 4 leaked on the Internet.

Apple may be preparing to unleash a major upgrade on its iPad mini line with a new iPad mini 4, and images of the device’s aluminum case have been circulating online from an apparently leaked photograph.

Appearing to be thinner that its predecessors, the iPad mini 4 is likely to be more like an iPad Air 2 than the previous models. Based on photos of the leaked casing, the device will have a single row speaker grill on the bottom on both sides of the Lightning port, and it also dispenses with the mute/lock switch, just like Apple’s latest Air.

Other big changes that set it apart from the current gen iPad mini is its chassis which reveals a big antenna cutout at its top, with a SIM slot on its right side, the arrangement making the 7.9-inch tablet appear to be a cellular version of the iPad mini 3.

The iPad mini 4 will be a device a majority of iPad mini users may be anticipating given the lukewarm reception the iPad mini 3 received when it made its debut in October last year after no major changes really set it apart from the iPad mini 2 apart from Touch ID and another color option in gold.

With the leaked photos of the alleged iPad mini 4 shell, users may be expecting the next gen device to match the specs of the iPad Air 3 at the very least.

Last year, the iPad mini 2 received some a generous upgrade with performance improvements via its new and faster 64-bit chip A8X processor and an 8MP camera with 1080 video recording capabilities.

The iPad mini 4 may receive the same improvements, and speculations run to an A9 processor with at least 2GB of memory similar to the iPad Air 2.

Detailed information about the iPad mini 4 remains scarce as it is still early in the release cycle, but users can expect the device to make its debut by October this year at the latest with a starting price point of $399.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Phoenix Suns Live Stream, Start Time: Watch NBA Basketball Online

Christian Post Report – Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe

With the playoff race being decided down the wire, the New Orleans Pelicans need a big win against the Phoenix Suns when they meet at the Smoothie King Center. The match is on April 10, 2015 at 8 p.m. ET.

New Orleans are currently holding on to the eighth spot in the Western Conference as they are trying to hold off the Oklahoma City Thunder who are ninth.

Both teams are deadlocked with 42-36 records but the Pelicans hold the tie-break advantage over the Thunder.

Following a crushing loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Pelicans need to rebound with a win over the struggling Suns.

New Orleans secured the eighth spot with a big win over the West’s best team the Golden State Warriors.

In the 103-100 victory, Anthony Davis went for 29 points and 10 rebounds as the Pelicans overturned a double-digit deficit at the half to lead by one after three quarters. The victory was made sweeter as the Thunder lost big to the San Antonio Spurs which resulted in New Orleans’ entry to the playoff picture.

Meanwhile, the Suns have dropped their last two games and have lost a total of seven of their last eight. At one point, they were included in the discussion for the Western Conference playoff spot but poor form has resulted in their exclusion from the list.

Their last performance was a 107-104 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Phoenix had only eight players in rotation and the offense was led by Gerald Green who had 30 points. He also went 50 percent from beyond the arc, sinking five of his 10 attempts beyond the arc. Marcus Morris had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds but Phoenix fell short against Dallas.

They were also out-rebounded 47-37 and committed 12 turnovers in the game.

‘Left Behind 2’ Is Coming, and This Time It Will Not Water Down Christian Message, According to Producer

'Left Behind' Movie Project (Photo: CloudTenPictures)

A poster from the ‘Left Behind’ Movie project.

Christian Post Report – A distribution deal for the sequel to the recent “Left Behind” movie that starred Nicholas Cage has been struck and a producer of the film says it will stick closer to the books and will be aimed specifically at the Christian audience.

The film’s pre-production was confirmed Wednesday and will be released through Cloud Ten Pictures in the summer of 2016.

David Heimbecker, who works for the studio, commented on the original film’s reception and what they might do differently the second time around.

Heimbecker stated that the studio attempted to appeal to an audience beyond just Christians and with “Left Behind 2” they want to satisfy their core audience.

“What we tried to do with the first move was reach out beyond the current fan and try and get more people interested in End Times prophecy. And the problem with that is, we’re walking a line with core Christians. We weren’t following the doctrine as closely as they wanted to see it happen,” Heimbecker said in a statment to The Christian Post. “To more secular consumers of the film, it was religious propaganda. You’re walking a line and unfortunately, like we’re doing with the next one, we’re completely targeting Christians.”

Heimbecker agreed that the first film’s faith message and theology was watered down and claims this was done to reach a larger audience. However, he also admits that this approach failed.

“One of the problems with many Christian films is that they do well with people who are already core Christians, but we were trying to use [“Left Behind”] as an [evangelism] tool but it did not cross the line.”

Heimbecker hoped the original film would spark conversations with non-believers by presenting the Gospel in the different format of End Times fiction. And even though it wasn’t a massive success, many fans on social media admitted the movie sparked their interest in church and the Bible.

A screenshot from a video in an ‘Indiegogo’ campaign to fund a sequel to the 2014 film ‘Left Behind’ which features actors Nicholas Cage, Chad Michael Murray and Cassie Thomson.

“Clearly, the goal was to do that on a grander scale. And since it didn’t cross the line what we’re basically doing, moving forward, is following the books much more closely,” he continued.

In order to speed up the process of creating a sequel to “Left Behind,” Cloud Ten created an Indiegogo campaign to secure the final production costs to push the sequel’s production forward.

“The crowdfunding campaign is to bridge the gap,” he said. “We have investors who invested in the first film, but aren’t able to give up the money [for the sequel] until they recoup from the first one. In order to get started in pre-production that’s all this is about, is getting started now because it takes 12 to 18 months to shoot a film and get it to market. So we want to make sure we can do that and get it out by summer next year.”

Heimbecker was not able to confirm if Nicholas Cage would return as the lead in the film, but did state that some of the other actors are under contract for two sequels.

San Antonio Spurs vs Houston Rockets Live Stream, Start Time: Watch NBA Basketball Online

Spurs Photo/Reuters

Christian Post Report – Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs.

The San Antonio Spurs try to trade places with the Houston Rockets as second in the Southwest Division as they meet at the Toyota Center in the NBA. Tip-off is at 8:00 p.m. ET on April 10, 2015.

The Rockets are currently third in the Western Conference standings while the Spurs are sixth.

A Spurs win will definitely shake up the standings as it will boos them to third and bring Houston down the order.

They have met a total of three times this season, with Houston taking the season opener but San Antonio coming back to win the last two.

In their last meeting only a few days ago, the Spurs rolled to a 110-98 win at the AT&T Center. Tony Parker led the charge as he scored 27 points while shooting 13-of-18 from the field. He also had four assists in the game. Kawhi Leonard continued his steady contribution with 20 points but played excellent defense as shown by his four steals in 35 minutes on the court.

For the Rockets, James Harden led the team with 22 points but was only 2-of-6 from beyond the arc. Dwight Howard had a good game with 16 points and 11 rebounds in only 22 minutes on the court. Houston led at the end of the first quarter but San Antonio’s response boosted them to a double digit lead by the end of the third quarter. They had an answer for every attack that the Rockets gave them as they rolled on to the victory.

With this coming match having big repercussions on the outcome of the standings, expect both teams to come out swinging.

San Antonio is currently on a nine-game winning streak, while the Rockets have only lost twice in their last nine games in the league.

Brooklyn Nets vs Washington Wizards Live Stream, Start Time: Watch NBA Basketball Online

Derron Williams Reuters

Christian Post Report – Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams celebrates after a made3-point shot in 2013.

The Brooklyn Nets’ race for the playoff spot continues as they host the Washington Wizards at Barclays Center in the NBA. Tip-off is on April 10, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Brooklyn is currently eighth in the East while trying to hold off the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat with only a handful of games remaining. They have also been impressive in their last 10 games, winning seven of them.

Unfortunately, their last game was a 114-111 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Against the East’s top team, the Nets tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter but fell short after being behind for the entire game. Brook Lopez was dominant for the Nets with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Joe Johnson shot 60 percent from the field to contribute 21 points. Brooklyn’s shooting woes from beyond the arc was part of the reason they lost as they only converted 27 percent of their attempts from the three point line.

On the other hand, the Wizards are fifth in the league and are on a four-game winning streak. They were a disappointing 1-5 in their last six games prior to the four-game run, but have seemed to turn things around as they want to close out the regular season on a positive note.

Their most impressive performance in the winning streak was the 92-83 win over the tough Memphis Grizzlies. Washington got out to an early lead in the first quarter and it kept them afloat as Bradley Beal led the team with 20 points. John Wall added 18 for the win while going for 14 assists to go along with his six rebounds.

The Eastern Conference rivals have met three times so far this season, and the Wizards have the upper hand as they have won the last two meetings.

Washington beat Brooklyn the last time they were at Barclays, winning 99-90 behind six players scoring in double figures led by Nene with 20.

New York Islanders vs Pittsburgh Penguins Live Stream Free, Start Time: Watch Online NHL Hockey 2015

Pittsburgh Penguins' Sidney Crosby (PHOTO: REUTERS/Andy Clark)

Christian Post Report – Pittsburgh Penguins’ Sidney Crosby (R) takes part in a team practice in Vancouver, British Columbia October 5, 2011. The team was preparing for their game against the Vancouver Canucks to start the NHL hockey season October 6. Crosby is not expected to play.

In their final home game for the regular season, the Pittsburgh Penguins host the New York Islanders at Consol Energy Center. The match is on April 10, 2015 at 7 p.m. ET.

Metropolitan Division rivals, the Islanders and Penguins are separated by two points as the season winds down.

Currently, the Islanders hold the final qualifying spot in the playoffs while the Penguins are in the Wild Card slot of the Eastern Conference.

Both teams have two matches remaining and, depending on the outcome of this match, they may end up switching positions or even see themselves drop out of the playoff picture completely.

It has been a rough time for the Penguins as they have only won two of their last eight matches – and their current stretch is being winless in their last four. Their most recent performance was a 4-3 overtime loss to the Ottawa Senators where they squandered an early 3-0 lead to allow the hosts to take a point that could have helped them in their standing.

Pittsburgh is also going through many different injuries in their playoff bid as four players are listed as day-to-day. Christian Ehrhoff and Kris Letang have been nursing problems since March, while Steve Downie and Derrick Pouliot picked up knocks earlier this month.

Meanwhile, the Islanders can clinch a playoff spot if they beat Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, their performances lately have been poor and they have only won two of their last seven matches. They lost 5-4 to the Philadelphia Flyers in their last game as their comeback bid fell short. They were down 4-1 in the third period before three goals within 11 minutes leveled the score. With only three seconds left, New York allowed a goal to see them lose the game.

After their match against Pittsburgh, the Islanders close out the regular season with a home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
