Christian Post Report – More doses of intrigue and creepiness are to be expected as the hit thriller drama TV series “Bates Motel” continues on its third season this week.

Tthe show’s lead star, Freddie Highmore, talked about his character, Norman Bates, and his gradual evolution to becoming the man it was known in “Psycho” which connects to how its relationship with its mother, Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga), will be played out for the rest of the season.

“I think the way that Norma and Norman’s relationship evolves in the third season is very much one of these equals of two adults battling it out, as opposed to Norman being the son,” Highmore told The Sydney Morning Herald. “I guess there’s always been hints of this sort of husband/wife relationship that Norma and Norman share. And I think it goes a lot more in that direction in the third season.”

“Norman is certainly more grown-up and can manipulate her a lot more than perhaps he would in the past,” he explained. “He stands up to her a lot more control in their relationship, as opposed to merely being led by his mother. He starts to try and lead her.”

Meanwhile, spoiler reports for the upcoming segment titled “Unbreak-able” pointed out that Norman and Emma (Olivia Cooke) will be taking a day off from the motel. This occasion will perhaps tackle more on the Norman-Emma issue.

Furthermore, this episode will also delve deeper into the two counts of mysterious deaths happening in White Pine Bay which will be carried out by the ever-curious Sheriff Alex Romero (Nestor Carbonell).

Will the shady mother-and-son tandem be linked to the cases?

Find out when “Bates Motel” Season 3 airs this Monday, March 30 on the A&E Network.

Christian Post Report – Following last week’s announcement that Fox has already given the needed green-light for the revival of the ’90s phenomenal sci-fi TV series “The X-Files,” the internet once again took off when more information about the upcoming revival show was served by none other than its lead star, David Duchovny.

Playing as the FBI special agent, Fox Mulder, Duchovny was recently interviewed by The New York Times about his new series “Aquarius.” The talk expectedly segued to “X-Files” which he admits wasn’t “really a cult show.”

“It was actually a big hit. People call it a cult show because of the subject matter,” he said.

He went on to confirm that the new take of the story will be consisted of six episodes and will follow on its “Monster of the Week” set-up as well as its expansive mythology.

“We’re gonna do both. I’m pretty sure it’s gonna begin and end with the mythology,” he revealed.

He went on to say that filming for the new segments would happen in Vancouver which, as CBR said, would take advantage of the location’s “misty atmosphere” that will help bring out the show’s signature “spooky tone.”

The 54-year-old New York native further insisted that the new “X-Files” will be the same as before.

“We’re still trying to do the same show. It’s not like were trying to make it 2.0, or whatever the.0 is now. 3.0. We’re gonna make the same show. But it’ll be interesting because Gillian and I are older. I don’t want to act like it’s 20 years ago,” he added.

Tekken 7 new characters Jin Kazama, Devil Jin, and Josie Rizal

Christian Post Report – “Tekken” executive producer and game director Katsuhiro Harada revealed three characters for “Tekken 7.”

Both Jin Kazama and Devil Jin have returned to the series and will be added to the game on March 31st and April 7, respectively.

Kazama has improved moves with more powerful punches and strikes, and his fighting style is similar to that of a professional boxer. Meanwhile, Devil Jin has laser-fire eyes and though the character looks a lot like Kazama, it has a different fighting style.

Meanwhile, the new character which Harada introduced is named Josie Rizal, the series’ first fighter of Filipino descent. Designed by Mari Shimazaki of Bayonetta fame, the character’s name is a nod to the Philippines’ national hero, Jose Rizal. The character’s clothing is also based on the Philippine flag’s colors, which are red, blue, yellow with a bit of white detailing, and she specializes in both kickboxing and Eskrima, with a bit of muay thai thrown in.

Last year, it was announced that the game will introduce other characters from different parts of the world, and new characters Katarina Alves (Brazilian) and Shaheen (Saudi Arabian) were added to the roster, and both are designed as beginner friendly characters.

Several characters will also be speaking in their native languages, so Leo and Lili will be speaking German and French respectively for the first time in the series, while Claudio, Katarina, and Shaheen will speak their native Italian, Portuguese, and Arabic respectively.

“Tekken 7” has already been released in arcades in Japan on March 18 and the game reportedly has already gained a steady fan base. Bandai Namco has yet to announce when the game will hit other platforms in other territories. The game is expected to make an appearance at EVO 2015.

‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Season 7: Episode 19 ‘Drama Detox’

Real Housewives of Atlanta Bravotv/ The Real Housewives of Atlanta

The ladies do some yoga while on a retreat in the Philippines in The Real Housewives of Atlanta

Christian Post Report – On last Sunday’s episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” the ladies take Dr. Jeff’s advice to go on a retreat to fix their relationships and they fly to the Philippines, and Nene stays behind as she meets with the creative director of Broadway’s “Cinderella.”

Nene is in New York and meeting with the creative director of “Cinderella.” In a mock British accent, Nene reads her lines and later, when she’s told that she has to improve, she tells him, “I will bring it.” She also said that she would like to use two accents for her character. He tells her that she better “bring it” because her name is on the marquee.

After a 16-hour flight, Claudia, Kenya, Porsha, Demetria, Kandi, Cynthia, and Phaedra arrive in the Philippines. Claudia takes them to a vegan detox resort, and she assigns the biggest room to Phaedra because she’s been having a hard time lately, and Phaedra is openly touched by the gesture. The rest of the ladies are also impressed with their accommodations.

The next morning, Claudia invites Phaedra to lunch so that Phaedra will know that “this isn’t a set up.” Claudia tells her that she too went through a painful divorce.

“I dealt with it in not a great way,” said Claudia. “I drank a lot of wine. I was depressed. I had suicidal thoughts.”

Phaedra appreciates her support, but is not quite willing to talk about Apollo yet. However, she’s glad that Claudia sincerely reached out, and the two of them ended up connecting well and laughing.

Later, Phaedra and Kandi meet for pedicures. They talk about how they both got hurt over miscommunications, but in the end they agree that they’re true friends and that they should stick together. Kandi also hopes that Phaedra can find it in her heart to forgive Kenya.

Over a group dinner of smuggled chicken and alcohol, Claudia tries her best to help others mend fences. Cynthia tries to apologize to Phaedra for confronting her about Mr. Chocolate a few weeks ago, but Phaedra ignores her. This causes Porsha to giggle.

Claudia calls Porsha out for giggling, and Kenya and Demetria accuse Porsha of undoing all the efforts the other ladies made so far. Exasperated, Claudia stands up and clinks a glass with her spoon to get their attention, but she ends up breaking it.

Later, Kenya says that she wants to mend her relationship with Phaedra after Apollo lied about Kenya sending him flirty text messages. Phaedra still has her doubts, so Kenya asks her if she’s willing to have a private conversation, and Phaedra agrees. The women cheer and toast to “doing the work.”

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

Selena Gomez posted this picture of her and Zedd on her Instagram account and captioned it “The Harry to My Sally”

Christian Post Report – Not a week goes by without an update on how Hollywood’s popular couple, Selena Gomez and DJ Zedd, has been going on with their dating lives and this recent information from gossip site, Hollywood Life, might point out that the two music artists might already be singing a serious tone in their relationship.

A report from HL said that the 22-year-old “The Heart Wants What It Wants” singer considers the 25-year-old DJ as a “great husband and father.”

“Selena definitely wants to have kids one day. She thinks Zedd is marriage material and perfect dad material. They’ve talked about kids and both of them want a big family,” an insider for Hollywood Life said. “Selena says wherever they go, babies and little kids always gravitate towards Zedd because he’s so silly and fun to be around. Christian Reconstructionism Is Not ‘America’s ISIS,’ Says Religious History Expert Molly Worthen

ISIS (Photo: Reuters/Stringer)

Militant Islamist fighters waving flags, travel in vehicles as they take part in a military parade along the streets of Syria’s northern Raqqa province, June 30, 2014.

Christian Post Report – An expert on the history of American evangelical denominations is taking issue with the claim by some that Reconstructionism, a strict faction within conservative Christianity, is America’s version of the Islamic State.

Christian Reconstructionism, which calls for the application of biblical law in society, has been compared in recent months to the Middle Eastern terrorist group that’s best known in the United States as ISIS.

Molly Worthen, an assistant history professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is an expert on religious and intellectual history in North America.

In an interview with The Christian Post, Worthen explained that it’s “grossly misleading” to call Christian Reconstructionists “America’s ISIS.”

“To state only the most obvious difference, most Reconstructionists — even those very few who endorse, in theory, reprehensible practices like the stoning of gay people — have not called for terrorism or the violent overthrow of legitimate government,” Worthen explained.

“Reconstructionists have usually called for Christians to use the institutions of liberal democracy to elect and empower likeminded leaders.”

  • Rushdoony
    (Photo: Chalcedon Foundation®)
Rousas John Rushdoony, considered the father of the Christian Reconstructionist Movement.

Worthen added that comparison of the two entities “misunderstands the goals, character, and origin of both movements.”

Founded by Calvinist philosopher and writer Rousas John Rushdoony, Reconstructionism is also known as Dominionism or Theonomy.

The movement became organized during the 1970s courtesy R.J. Rushdoony’s magnum opus, The Institutes of Biblical Law.

Ever since ISIS garnered headlines for its brutality and growing strength, some have compared Reconstructionism to the Islamic extremist organization.

Last September, a blog entry on the website The Pink Flamingo described Reconstructionism and ISIS as “two peas in a pod.”

On the Americans United for Separation of Church and State’s blog “Wall of Separation,” Rob Boston also argued that the two movements are comparable.

“When you read the platform of the Reconstructionists, you can’t help but notice its similarities to the goals of ISIS, the Taliban and like-minded bands of extremists,” Boston wrote.

“In both cases, there is great hostility to ideas like women’s rights, LGBT rights, pluralism, democracy and religious freedom. The irony, of course, is that both factions would consider the other ‘heathens’ or ‘apostates’ worthy of death.”

Boston added that, unlike ISIS, the Reconstructionists “have nothing like their own party and (thankfully) no military arm.”

While ideological opponents have occasionally accused conservative Christians of supporting or being influenced by Reconstructionism, Worthen told CP said influence “has been minimal.”

“If by ‘Reconstructionism’ we mean self-conscious followers of Rushdoony who actively seek a theocratic regime governed by Mosaic law, we are talking about a tiny number of people whom most Christians view as extremists,” Worthen continued. “I believe journalists have generally exaggerated the importance of the personal connections between Rushdoony and his acolytes and more mainstream Protestant activists.”

Worthen did add, however, that Reconstructionism is important when understood as “the far right-wing expression of a broader, more diffuse impulse in conservative Christianity, a backlash against the values of Enlightenment secularism and cultural pluralism, and a desire to reassert the Protestant establishment that governed American culture for so long.”

“In this sense, Christian Reconstructionists are not a tiny group of extremists, but a group of activists and thinkers whose platform should compel other Christians to think through their own assumptions about the role of Christianity in American culture and law,” Worthen added.

In the present, organizations that promote the ideology of Reconstructionism include the American Vision, the Institute for Christian Economics, and the Chalcedon Foundation.

Mark R. Rushdoony, president of the Chalcedon Foundation and son of the-late R.J. Rushdoony, told CP that he believes “Reconstructionism has grown quite a lot” in recent years.

“Its growth is not readily apparent. I think the influence has grown even though the number of prominent individuals associated with us is not what it was in the 1970s,” Rushdoony said. “So I think it is somewhat lacking in leadership right now, but the ideas of the movement are more prevalent now than they have ever been before.”

Regarding the ISIS comparison, Rushdoony told CP that “the comparison of Christian Reconstruction, or Theonomy, to Islamic fundamentalism is an old charge by our critics.”

Rushdoony added that he believes a major difference between ISIS and Reconstructionism is that the latter “is a very libertarian type of philosophy.”

“My father believed that the basic government is the government of the individual. So he very much believed in liberty and limiting the power of the state, which was the intent of our Constitution,” Rushdoony emphasized.

“He did not believe in imposing biblical law on an unbelieving society, he believed biblical law was the direction, the marching orders for the people of God.”

Rushdoony further asserted that people “mistook my father’s position as a political agenda” when his “primary audience” was “the individual Christian.”

“Modern man is really statist, so he thinks in terms of the ultimate organization of society as being at the government level,” he continued.

“My father was a very bottom-up thinker and he held that the kingdom of God is from the bottom-up. It’s the kingdom of God displayed in the individual that is going to greatly impact the future.”

New ‘Jurassic World’ Trailer Features Brutal New Hybird Dinosaur, Indominus Rex (VIDEO)

Jurassic World Universal Pictures/file

Jurassic World, which stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, will be released on June 12, 2015.

Christian Post Report – Universal Pictures just released its latest trailer for “Jurassic World,” putting the spotlight on a new breed of dinosaur, Indominus Rex.

Sci-fi adventure film, “Jurassic World” just gave audiences their first look at a brutal new hybrid dinosaur called Indominus Rex in the latest trailer released for the “Jurassic Park” franchise.

The movie, based on the best-selling novel by Michael Crichton, will be bringing theater goers back to the infamous Isla Nublar when it premieres in theaters on June 12 this year.

The upcoming film features an improved and fully functional dinosaur theme park which realizes the dream initially envisioned by the original owner and InGen founder character, John Hammond from the first film.

With the park’s development, Masrani Global Corporation, who now owns the attraction, has created a new genetically modified dinosaur as a novel animal to bring up the park’s sluggish attendance. As with all “Jurassic Park” films, the new hybrid, revealed to be a faster, smarter, more dangerous, and ultimately brutal lizard, inevitably escapes confinement and wrecks violent havoc on Isla Nublar.

The trailer shows a preview of just how deadly the Velociraptor hybrid, Indominus Rex is after it eats its sibling during feeding time.

It also ups the ante on the violence that’s been showcased so far by the past films in the franchise that previewed relatively mild attacks. “Jurassic World” won’t be concentrating on just a rampaging T-Rex or a couple of ravenous Velociraptors this time around, and audiences should expect screaming tourists picked up at random by swooping Ptrerosaurs, and various body parts flung and fed on by other escaped carnivorous residents of the park.

“Jurassic World” will be starring “Guardians of the Galaxy’s” breakout star, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Irrfan Khan, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, B.D. Wong, Omar Sy, and Brian Ty. Produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, it is helmed by Colin Trevvor of “Safety Not Guaranteed” fame.

4-Inch iPhone Rumors: Apple to Release Smaller Model This Year?

iPhone 6C Gizmodo UK/Twitter

Alleged leaked images of the new 4-inch iPhone 6C model Apple is planning to unveil along with two other iPhone handsets this year. Twitter image. March 30, 2015.

Christian Post Report – With escalating rumors about Apple’s reported intent to launch three new iPhone models this year, a leak of an alleged iPhone 6C has been released online pointing towards a possible 4-inch screen smartphone in the works.

A host of speculations have been surrounding Apple’s supposedly unveiling of three new handset models for 2015. Among the smartphones said to be in development is a 4-inch iPhone 6C variant, whose alleged rear shell image has been leaked on the Internet.

Smartphone users are expecting refreshed new versions of Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in the latter half of 2015. According to reports that have emerged lately, the company will be unveiling a smaller 4-inch handset, as well.

News of a smaller model has been deemed more credible as the Cupertino, California multinational’s iPhone 4C has just reached the two year mark and is due for an upgraded version. While Apple gained new customers and broke their six-month sales records by upping screen size for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, respectively, insiders say the company doesn’t intend to abandon their 4-inch screen handset line entirely.

Images leaked of a smaller smartphone’s rear view featuring a colorful plastic shell has been making the rounds of the Internet. According to rumors, the new 4-inch iPhone will still be imbued with full specs comparable to its larger counterparts.

It is likely to be equipped with NFC connectivity and Apple’s new standard of TouchID sensor. With a plastic shell instead of the metal chassis sported by the company’s other higher-range models, the 4-inch iPhone 6C variant may fall in the mid-range level.

Based on the leaked photos, the 4-inch iPhone features a number of cutouts in its new shell, making a departure from the iPhone 5C. It displays a pill-shaped new cutout reminiscent of the iPhone 6C, and eight instead of four speaker holes at the bottom, just to the left of its Lightning port.

While the leaked images of the rear shell remain unconfirmed, it is still quite possible Apple is developing a new iPhone 6C that may make a possible debut at the Electronics Entertainment Expo 2015 this June.
