Monaco’s Geoffrey Kondogbia scores their first goal against Arsenal in the 3-1 victory.

Christian Post Report – Arsenal will try to do what is almost impossible as they face Monaco at Stade Louis II in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League match on March 17, 2015. Kick-off is at 2:45 p.m. ET.

In their first meeting at the Emirates Stadium, Monaco completed the upset by winning 3-1, now getting an aggregate lead going to the return leg. Geoffrey Kondogbia started the scoring for Monaco in the 38th minute, converting a swift pass from Joao Moutinho. In the second half, Dimitar Berbatov doubled the vistors’ lead as he scored in the 53rd minute.

Arsenal seemed to get one back, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain netting one late in injury time, but the two-goal lead was restored after Ferreira Carrasco beat the Arsenal defense four minutes into stoppage time to end the game 3-1.

Now the Gunners must do what no other team has done in the Champions League era, score at least two goals in the away leg of the match after losing their home tie.

Injuries are abundant for both teams as Monaco will be without Lacina Traore who is suffering from a shin fracture, while Tiémoué Bakayoko has a hamstring injury. Defender Andrea Raggi has a knock on his knee and will not see any action as well.

For Arsenal, they will be without Oxlade-Chamberlain who has a hamstring pull, while Mikel Arteta, Matthieu Debuchy and Abou Diaby are also unavailable due to injury.

Monaco have been excellent in their last seven matches across all competitions. They have only lost once in that span, with their most recent result a 3-0 win over Bastia.

Arsenal have also been in excellent form, only losing twice in their last 14 games. Since their loss to Monaco, the London club have gone on and won their last four games, only conceding two goals in the process.

Christian Post Report – Chris Harrison is no stranger to drama as the 43-year old is the host of ABC’s “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.” However, Harrison is revealed to have bad feelings for a famous reality star as he tells Billy Bush and Kit Hoover of “Access Hollywood Live” that he is not a fan of Bethenny Frankel.

Harrison sat down with Bush and Hoover on Tuesday, March 10 to talk about the season finale of “The Bachelor” starring Chris Soules. Later, he was put into the hot seat as the hosts pulled a lineup of famous women in a game they called “Let’s Set Chris Harrison Up With One of These Famous Ladies.”

The pair presented the newly divorced Harrison with pictures of several famous single women, asking if he had any interest in them. Harrison, who split from his wife of 18 years Gwen Harrison, talked positively about his choices.

Harrison was presented a picture of Kris Jenner, and he described her as “a great friend” and “an awesome person.” Of Denise Richards, he said that “she’s great and I love her.” He also had affirmative and enthusiastic responses about Sandra Bullock and Kristen Wiig.

When presented with a picture of Frankel, Harrison was not pleased as he said, “I knew her dad and I loved her dad.”

“She didn’t love her dad. I loved her dad more,” he continued with a frown on his face.

It was reported that “The Real Housewives of New York” star feuded with her estranged father until the day he died in 2009.

“Her dad was a great Hall of Fame horse trainer,” said Harrison. “I didn’t like how she treated her dad after he passed away.”

Harrison’s dislike for Frankel was evident as he said, “No, no, switch,” when the hosts lingered on Frankel’s picture.

Hillsong UNITED Announces New Album ‘Empires’ Coming May 26

A photo from a Hillsong concert.

Christian Post Report – Hillsong UNITED announced a brand new album, “EMPIRES,” coming to stores this May.

The new album follows Hillsong UNITED’s 2013 release “Zion,” their fastest-selling album to date. Along with the album announcement, the band also unveiled the artwork for “EMPIRES,” including the album cover, from the stratosphere. Clues about the title and artwork for the album were shared on social media over the course of the past week, but thousands of fans were abuzz over a short video released from outer space on Monday.

“We thought if there was ever a place to launch our new album, it should be somewhere we’ve never been before,” lead singer Joel Houston explained. “In this world that desperately strives to reach new heights and searches for new highs, we thought to debut the ‘EMPIRES’ album cover as far and as high as we could naturally go. Knowing full well that where it will land and ultimately what this project and our lives are about, begins and ends where our knees hit the ground.”

Coinciding with the announcement from space to Earth, Houston said that the powerful theme of “EMPIRES” explores two different worlds.

“We wanted to create songs that first seek to listen, then speak the good news of Jesus and His Grace into the dichotomy, tension and hopeful-collision of this broken and fragile world we see here and now, and the unshakeable and mysterious reality of the Kingdom we can’t see,” the singer continued. “Our desire has been to simply create the most honest project we could.”

Hillsong UNITED is best known for their chart-topping songs that include “Hosanna,” “Lead Me To the Cross,” “The Stand,” and “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail).” The RIAA Platinum-selling group has also earned five GMA Dove Awards, including the coveted Artist of the Year and Song of the Year Award this year. Furthermore, the band will star in Relativity Films’ “Hillsong – Let Hope Rise,” expected in theaters everywhere on May 29.

Meanwhile, the band is comprised of 11 members who are each volunteers of employees of Hillsong Church. It is estimated that over 30 million churchgoers around the world sing Hillsong worship songs on any given Sunday.

Disney Greenlights ‘Frozen 2’

Disney's Frozen Reuters/File

Disney’s ‘Frozen’ surpassed the box-office success of ‘Toy Story 3’ with 640.063 billion tops and has joined the Top 10 list of the highest-grossing movies of all time.

Christian Post Report – Disney Studios has officially announced that it is developing a sequel to the successful animated movie “Frozen.” The announcement was made during a recent shareholders meeting by John Lasseter, Disney and Pixar’s chief creative officer, Disney Chairman Bob Iger and Josh Gad, who voiced the lovable character of Olaf in the movie.

According to Variety, the announcement was very much expected after the first movie became one of the highest-grossing animated films in history, earning $1.3 billion in the box office in 2013 and said to have “helped reinvigorate” Walt Disney Animation Studios. The merchandise developed after the movie continues to earn millions for Disney to this day.

“Frozen 2” will see the directors of the first film, Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, coming back to direct. Disney Producer Peter Del Vecho is working with the duo to develop the project.

Although Disney has not confirmed casting except for Josh Gad, who made the announcement with Disney’s big bosses, some reports are saying that both Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel will surely reprise their roles as Anna and Elsa respectively. Both actresses returned in the short sequel of sorts, “Frozen Fever.”

A report in Telegraph also says that Elsa and Anna will likely sport new dresses, which will be a good thing for merchandise sales. When “Frozen” came out, what followed was a frenzy for “Frozen” dolls and other retail merchandise.

No plot details have been revealed, but the Telegraph report bravely made some predictions about the sequel. One of these is that Disney needs to outdo itself if it wants the sequel to be as successful as or more successful than the first.

The first film produced a musical success with the song “Let It Go.” It is unclear whether the sequel will involve Robert and Kristen Lopez, the composers from the first film. Another prediction is about Olaf’s love life. The report says that the sequel may have Olaf finding a “snow soulmate.”

The announcement about the sequel comes after the recent release of “Frozen Fever,” which is being shown with the live-action adaptation of “Cinderella,” which opened in theaters this past weekend.

In addition to the Blu-Ray and DVD release on March 24, fans can enjoy “Legacy of Faith,” a bonus feature revealing 90 minutes of rich content from Zamperini, Billy Graham, and Greg Laurie.

“Louie Zamperini’s story has been an inspiration to tens of millions of people of faith, and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment is responding to this outpouring of support by creating a special bonus disc that celebrates his life and his testimony,” Matthew Faraci of Universal Home Entertainment’s faith outreach said in a statement.

“The special edition ‘Legacy of Faith’ bonus disc is loaded with 90 minutes of behind-the-scenes stories, heartwarming moments, and extra surprises that will delight everyone, providing the perfect resource for faith leaders seeking to continue the conversation and examine the lessons from this film,” Faraci continued.

“Unbroken” was adapted from Laura Hillenbrand’s best-selling book which chronicles Zamperini’s life, including competing in the 1936 Olympics as a long-distance runner and becoming a solider during World War II. After surviving 47 days lost at sea, as well as two years in a Japanese POW camp, Zamperini ultimately found peace, forgiveness and redemption through God.

“Unbroken” earned over $15.5 million at the box office as well as a nomination at the Academy Awards, and the film is available in stores on March 24. Available along with the Blu-ray and DVD, the “Unbroken” bonus disc highlights interviews and documentary footage of Zamperini with Billy Graham, who were introduced in 1949 when the war veteran met the then-little-known evangelist in Los Angeles. Before long, Zamperini knew the Holy Spirit was working within him, and the veteran was led to reconcile with his Japanese captors, offering them forgiveness as well as the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Christian Post Report – LG and Samsung have both come out with new devices this year as Samsung has recently unveiled its latest flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, while LG has launched its most innovative device to date, the G Flex 2. However, older devices from both companies are still getting a lot of interest due to their superb specs, as well as their marked decrease in price.

Thousands of Christians clashed with police and rioted on the streets in Lahore, Pakistan, on Monday, following suicide bombing attacks that killed 17 people in two churches on Sunday. Reports have said that two men suspected to have aided the attackers were beaten to death and burned in the riots.

The Associated Press reported that Christians, who make up only Christian Post Report – 2 percent of Pakistan’s population, clashed with police forces, blocked the highway and ransacked bus terminals, demanding the government start taking serious action to protect the persecuted minority.

AP and The Washington Post said that the Christian mob beat to death two people that were suspected to have been involved in the church bombings, after which they set their bodies on fire.

General Haider Ashraf, Lahore’s police deputy inspector general, said that police fired tear gas canisters on the mob after the situation deteriorated. City Commissioner Abdullah Sumbal Khan revealed that Pakistani paramilitary troops had been called in to restore order.

A Pakistani Taliban splinter group claimed responsibility for the bombings on Sunday, which left nearly 80 people injured. The blasts hit one Protestant and one Catholic church in Lahore located very close to each other.

Suicide bombings outside two churches in Lahore killed 14 people and wounded nearly 80 others during services on Sunday in attacks claimed by a faction of the Pakistani Taliban.

A witness told Reuters the death toll could have been even higher if it wasn’t for the actions of a security guard.

“I was sitting at a shop near the church when a blast jolted the area. I rushed toward the spot and saw the security guard scuffle with a man who was trying to enter the church. After failing, he blew himself up,” said witness Amir Masih.

“I saw his body parts flying through the air.”

Persecution watchdog groups, such as Christian Solidarity Worldwide, have said that Christians are demanding the government cracks down on violence against them. Previous deadly attacks, such as a bombing at All Saints Church in Peshawar in Christian Post Report – 2013, have gone unpunished.

“We extend our deepest condolences to those who [lost] loved ones and the many injured in today’s church bombings in Lahore. Lessons must be learned from the Christian Post Report – 2013 attacks in Peshawar; the perpetrators must be held to account and the Pakistani government must act swiftly to address the attacks on minority religious groups in the country and be proactive in ensuring protection for places of worship,” said CSW’s Chief Executive Mervyn Thomas.

Protesters in Lahore have said that they want justice to be served.

“We are on the roads to get justice, we want protection,” Maqbool Bhatti, a 50-year-old government employee, told AFP.

“There was no proper security on Sunday, the government should protect all churches,” he added.

Pakistani Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that the Taliban has been targeting places of worship as “soft targets,” because military operations have pushed it back.

“Due to military operation the noose has been tightening around militants and now it has significantly contained them,” Khan told a committee.

“They are now hitting the softest targets like churches, mosques and schools. It shows their frustration.”
