‘Bates Motel’ Season 3 News, Spoilers: Where is Annika?

Christian Post Report – The highly anticipated third season of the hit suspense and thriller drama TV series “Bates Motel” kicked off with last Monday’s episode titled “A Death in the Family” and it left the fans wondering what Norman (Freddie Highmore) had done with their new guest.

For those who missed it, the previous segment saw the infamous Bates peeking in the room of Annika (Tracy Spiridakos) as she changes clothes. This, by the way, is the scene that pays homage to Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller classic “Psycho.”

The mentally fragile Norman then showed Annika the town. But the viewers may have already seen the hints that Norman could be up to something as his expression changes when the latter revealed her previous profession.

The eerie premiere episode culminated with Norman driving home without the hotel guest. If ever he is responsible for Annika’s disappearance, does this mean that Norman is already going all out being Psycho?

Executive producer Kerry Ehrin informed TVGuide that fan should really expect “the worst” as the season progresses.

“I think that you should always assume the worst because it is Bates Motel. There’s no reliable narrator and the audience often has to interpret or project what they think something is. The ending was very much designed for that.”

The scenarios will be witnessed as this week’s episode titled “The Arcanum Club” is teased to feature Norma (Vera Farmiga) getting upset with her son over Annika’s disappearance.

To further heighten the anticipation, the publication further shared a sneak peek revealing a young woman’s dead body floating in the tidal floods. Is it Annika?

More questions will be answered when “Bates Motel” airs this Monday, Mar. 16 at 9 p.m. on A&E.

‘Fantastic Four’ Cast News, Update: Miles Teller Says Reboot Has Some Humor, Teaser Promo Pics Revealed

Fantastic Four Youtube/file

The cast of Fantastic Four takes a selfie to mark end of filming for the reboot of the movie. Shown here are Kate Mara, Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell.

Christian Post Report – Over the weekend, a slew of promo pictures for the upcoming reboot of the superhero film “Fantastic Four” have surfaced online. Excluding Jamie Bell’s the Thing and Toby Kebbel’s Doctor Doom, the series of photos tells why this title could be something to look forward to in the big screen.

Total Film shared four new images featuring Kate Mara suited up as Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan getting prepped on his suit by a group of people wearing protective garments, and Miles Teller as Reed Richards.

Speaking of Teller, the 28-year-old actor recently sat down with MTV News to dish out some information suggesting that the forthcoming blockbuster won’t exactly be that “too serious” as what those skeptics have made out from the first preview trailer.

The “Whiplash” star seemed to imply during the interview that 2015’s “Fantastic Four” does contain some mix of humour scattered all over.

“You should have some laughs in there. You want to see some enjoyment and The Thing better say ‘it’s clobbering time,'” he told MTV.

The discussion went on to indicate that although the Josh Tank-helmed “Fantastic Four” is expected to tread on the “Ultimate” comic book plot line, this doesn’t mean that it will be a direct adaptation of the canon.

“We were looking to kind of put our stamp on it,” Teller clarified. “We were looking to pay respect to the history of the characters but to bring them up to date.”

“Fantastic Four” is slated to open in theatres this August 7, 2015.

‘Suicide Squad’ Cast News, Update: The Joker and Deathstroke Details Revealed

Suicide Squad YOUTUBESCREENSHOT

Some of the characters included in DC Comics Entertainment’s “Suicide Squad”

Christian Post Report – Two new rumours pointing out to David Ayer’s upcoming big screen offering “Suicide Squad” reveal details of two of its iconic characters: The Joker and Deathstroke.

Latino Review indicated in their report that Jared Leto’s The Joker won’t appear like what he did in the comic books, which is lanky and seemingly weak. Leto’s sinister character will be based on The Dark Knight Returns’ version which is “lean and scarred” and his “suit does have broad shoulders.”

“Joker works out in his cell like an inmate when he is interrogated by Amanda Waller. He’s doing hand stand push ups so it makes sense that Jared Leto said he is putting on weight. He’s definitely not skinny, but in fact more muscular,” LR wrote.

The publication further dished out that the face of Leto’s Joker would be “bleached” and not heavily laden with make up.

Other than the Joker, the media outlet went on to reveal details about another “Suicide Squad” member named Deathstroke. It was revealed that the infamous hitman is working “with/for” the villain network ONSLAUGHT.

It was also found out that the villain turned government operative has otherworldly sharpshooting skills but is devoid of any superpowers.

“They’re going for a pre-super villain Deathstroke. He’s a huge part of both of the major set pieces of the film. His introduction is INSANE!” the site said.

The tactical character is also set to amaze long-time fanatics and newbie viewers alike.

“The running gun battle that sources are describing is something else. His suit is very stealth oriented. They used an actual US military tactical outfit for the basis. He’s armed to the teeth, uses a sword and automatics. In concept artwork he has two eyes. The mask is there and it’s the iconic one,” Latino Review further detailed.

“Suicide Squad” is slated to hit the big screen on August 5, 2016.

Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen presents the ‘Ipanema-Gisele Bundchen’ sandals collection in Paris April 8, 2010

Christian Post Report – Supermodel Gisele Bundchen recently announced that she’s retiring from the runway after having spent more than 20 years of her life on her modeling career.

The 34-year-old style icon will do her one last final runway next month for Colcci during the Sao Paulo Fashion Week in Brazil before keeping her towering heels for good, Brazilian news outlet Estadao said.

Although the Sao Paulo fashion event will be her last catwalk gig, the wife of New England Patriots’ QB Tom Brady will still model and appear in ads endorsing top of the line products like that of Chanel, David Yurman, and Under Armor, particularly for their “I Will What I Want” campaign.

The news of Gisele’s runway retirement comes just a few weeks following Victoria’s Secret Angel Karlie Kloss announcing her retirement, SMNWeekly indicated.

The Brazilian native has been named one of the world’s highest paid supermodel by Forbes. In 2013, she raked over $47 million in earnings.

Considered by her peers like Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell as the “only remaining true supermodel,” Bundchen was thought to have pioneered the “horse walk,” a stomping movement wherein a model is seen picking her knees up high and quickly kicks her feet out in front.

By 2009, the United Nations Environment Programme named the mother-of-two as the Goodwill Ambassador. She is also a supporter for a number of charities including Save the Children, the Red Cross, and Doctors Without Borders.

Christian Post Report – After the eventful 2015 Mobile World Congress unveiling of Samsung’s latest flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and its dual-curved screen device variant Galaxy S6 Edge, tech consumers have been wondering as to when the devices will arrive in the U.S. Here’s what we heard:

A report from Phone Arena cited the publication’s trusted insider saying that the current-gen smartphone will see its launching into the country on Saturday, April 11 for all the four major U.S. carriers AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

“Our source tells us that Samsung reps are currently on the road, visiting retail locations with demos of the Galaxy S6,” the site claimed.

In connection to this, Tech Times said that the abovementioned mobile carriers as well as U.S. Cellular are already creating “pre order registration pages” for customers who are interested in grabbing the South Korean tech giant’s newest gizmos.

The publication stated that Verizon was the first carrier to announce that they are already accepting pre-orders for the two phones.

The Reviving Word of God

Therefore, I will always remind you about these things–even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught.
— 2 Peter 1:12

Greg Laurie, senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California and Harvest Orange County in Irvine, California, shares the Gospel with a sold-out crowd of 19,000 for Harvest America at the American Airlines Center and Victory Park in Dallas, Texas, Oct. 5, 2014.

Christian Post Report – It’s amazing how the Word of God can revitalize the heart. You can be going into a tailspin of doubt and fear when someone will quote a Scripture verse that suddenly pulls you out of your discouragement. No matter how long you have been a Christian, you need to be reminded of spiritual truths.

That is why Peter wrote, “Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught. And it is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live” (2 Peter 1:12–13).

When we lose sight of spiritual truths, the Word of God corrects us. It revives us. As Psalm 19:7 says, “The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul.”

The two discouraged disciples on the Emmaus Road had lost all hope after Jesus was crucified. They didn’t realize that He had risen. Then Jesus began walking with them, but they didn’t recognize Him. He began to open the Word of God to them and pointed them to all of the Scriptures that alluded to His death and sacrifice. Afterward they said, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32).

God’s Word revives us. It brings us back to life again. If you are not interested in being revived, if you have no interest in being transformed, if you don’t want to grow spiritually, and if you don’t want direction or purpose in life, then don’t read the Bible.

But if you wish that your life had focus and purpose and direction, then start reading it. Contemplate it. Ponder it. Let it sink in. The Word of God revives us.

Love Thy Muslim Neighbor!

Love Thy Muslim Neighbor!

Every day seems to bring appalling new reports of Islamist terrorism—against Christians, but also against anyone in favor of free speech, even other Muslims. The evil of the Islamic State or ISIS or ISIL, tempts us to write off and fear all Muslims.

Christian Post Report – Well, how should Christians respond? First, a lot of people are saying this, but it bears repeating: Not all Muslims share the literalist, barbaric, pre-medieval theology of ISIS. Second, Jesus instructed us to love our enemies, to pray for those who persecute us, and to put our lives in the hands of a just and loving God. In fact, Jesus commanded us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Yep, even those Muslim neighbors.

ISIS Built ‘Guantanamo’ to Mentally Torture Western Captives With Mock Executions by ‘Jihadi John,’ Ex-Hostage Says

ISIS Beheading (Photo: Screen Grab via TKList)

A former Islamic State hostage revealed Sunday that ISIS held a group of Western hostages in a compound near Aleppo in northern Syria where its British militant “Jihadi John” staged mock executions to replicate the prison in Guantanamo, Cuba, for jihadist combatants.

Christian Post Report – The ISIS terror group, also known as ISIL, held about 22 European, American and Latin American journalists and humanitarian workers in a village north of Aleppo and repeatedly subjected them to mock executions by three militant guards, former hostage Javier Espinosa, a Spanish journalist, wrote in El Mundo newspaper Sunday.

The trio included “Jihadi John,” who has appeared in ISIS videos of beheading released in the recent months. The prisoners called the brutal guards “The Beatles,” according to Agence France Presse.

“The Beatles … loved this sort of theatre. They had me sat on the floor, barefoot, with a shaven head, a thick beard and dressed in the ‘orange’ uniform’ that had made Guantanamo, the American prison, famous,” Espinosa wrote, according to Scotsman.

“Jihadi John wanted maximum drama. He had brought along an antique sword of the kind Muslim armies used in the Middle Ages. It was a blade of almost a meter in length with a silver handle,” added Espinosa, who was kidnapped on Sept. 16, 2013 and freed on March 29, 2014.

ISIS’ masked executioner “Jihadi John” was recently identified as Mohammed Emwazi, a Kuwaiti-born Londoner.

“He caressed my neck with the blade but kept talking: ‘Feel it? Cold, isn’t it? Can you imagine the pain you’ll feel when it cuts? Unimaginable pain,'” the Spanish journalist narrated. “After finishing with the sword he holstered his pistol, a Glock. He placed it against my head and pulled the trigger three times. Click. Click. Click. It’s called a mock execution. But not even this terrifying intimidation seemed to satisfy them.”

Espinosa also wrote about what he’d been told by American journalist James Foley, who was executed last year, according to AFP.

“‘They had this project for a long time. The [head guard] told us at the beginning they wanted to intern Westerners in a high-security prison with cameras and lots of guards.’ ‘They told us that we would be here for a very long time, because we were the first ones they captured,'” Foley told him.

The militants also showed them images from the execution of Russian engineer Sergei Gorbunov, who was supposedly killed with an exploding bullet fired to his head.

“You may wind up like him,” a guard told Espinosa. “Or maybe we will make you unearth him and dig another grave so you can sleep with him.”

Espinosa said he waited for about a year to share his experience because he had been warned that other hostages would be killed if he did so. Now, almost all his fellow captives have either been released or killed.

A U.K.-based Muslim advocacy group, CAGE, claims that British security agencies harassed Emwazi between 2009 and 2012, suggesting that his treatment caused him to become a dreaded terrorist.

However, not many have believed CAGE’s theory.

An ex-ISIS fighter, identified as Abu Ayman, told BBC recently that Emwazi wanted to appear in ISIS videos that have purported to show beheading of Western and other hostages.

Ayman, who met Emwazi in Syria about two years ago, said Emwazi appeared strange to him the first time he met him.

“He was cold. He didn’t talk much. He wouldn’t join us in prayer. He’d only pray with his friends,” Ayman was quoted as saying. “The other British brothers prayed with us, but he was strange. The other British brothers would say ‘hi’ when they saw us on the road, but he turned his face away. The British fighters were always hanging out together, but he wouldn’t join them.”

Asked how Emwazi turned into a brutal soldier of ISIS, Ayman said, “ISIS have professional psychologists. They know who to choose from the fighters and how to make them famous. Still, there was nothing special about Jihadi John… anyone could have become like him. The emirs give the orders – and in return you get promoted. Many brothers joined Isis for new weapons, luxury guns, to drive better jeeps and to show off.”

14 Killed in Two Pakistani Church Bombings Carried Out by Taliban Splinter Group; Christians in ‘Day of Prayer’ for ‘Martyrs’

People from the Christian community attend a protest to condemn suicide bombings which took place outside two churches in Lahore, March 16, 2015. Suicide bombings outside two churches in Lahore killed 14 people and wounded nearly 80 others during services on Sunday in attacks claimed by a faction of the Pakistani Taliban.

Christian Post Report – At least 14 people have been killed and nearly 80 others were injured in two church bombings carried out by a Pakistani Taliban splinter group on Sunday in the Christian neighborhood of Youhanabad, Lahore. The Catholic faithful are marking a “day of prayer for the innocent lives of the martyrs” on Monday to honor the victims.

Reuters reported that the death toll might’ve been higher, if it wasn’t for the quick actions of a security guard who attempted to prevent one of the suicide bombers from entering one of the churches.

“I was sitting at a shop near the church when a blast jolted the area. I rushed toward the spot and saw the security guard scuffle with a man who was trying to enter the church. After failing, he blew himself up,” said witness Amir Masih.

“I saw his body parts flying through the air.”

The bombings occurred minutes apart from each other other, and targeted one Catholic and one Protestant church that are located very close to each other.

People mourn as they surround the body of their relative who was killed in a suicide attack on a church in Lahore March 15, 2015.

BBC News noted that witnesses have said suicide bombers were responsible for both blasts, but police are still investigating the incident. A group described as an offshoot of the Pakistan Taliban, called Jamatul Ahrar, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Back in December, the Taliban carried out a school massacre in Peshawar, where it killed 148 people, including a number of students.

Christians in Pakistan make up less than 2 percent of the population, which is predominantly Muslim, and have accused the government of ignoring their plight and the injustices carried out against them.

Fides News Agency reported that His Exc. Mgr. Sebastian Shaw OFM, Archbishop of Lahore, announced that all Catholic schools and institutes will be closed on Monday.

“Their blood was not shed in vain and will bring peace to all citizens of Pakistan,” Shaw said.

He added that he prays that “peace and harmony prevail in the country” and called on all citizens to “openly reject violence and terrorism.”

His Exc. Mgr. Joseph Coutts, archbishop of Karachi and president of the Episcopal Conference of Pakistan, added: “The Catholic Church strongly condemns the brutal suicide attacks on churches in Lahore. We beg the government in Punjab and the federal government of Pakistan to take adequate measures for the protection of churches and religious minorities in Pakistan.”

The statement continued: “The government, political parties, religious leaders and every citizen of Pakistan are called to speak out against extremist forces, alongside their Christian brothers and sisters. Believers of all religions must promote peace and social harmony and protect each other from terrorism. The Catholic Church and other religious minorities in Pakistan are asking the government to take effective measures to guarantee freedom of religion in the country.”

Pope Francis noted that he felt “great pain” over the bomb attacks, and told the Vatican audience from St. Peter’s Square on Sunday: “These are Christian churches. Christians are persecuted, our brothers spill their blood simply because they are Christians.”

Christian Solidarity Worldwide, which has been tracking persecution of Christians in Pakistan and the surrounding region, called on the government to do all it can to bring the attackers to justice. CSW also recalled the deadly twin suicide attacks on All Saints Church in Peshawar in 2013, which killed 180 people.

“We extend our deepest condolences to those who loved ones and the many injured in today’s church bombings in Lahore. Lessons must be learned from the 2013 attacks in Peshawar; the perpetrators must be held to account and the Pakistani government must act swiftly to address the attacks on minority religious groups in the country and be proactive in ensuring protection for places of worship,” said CSW’s Chief Executive Mervyn Thomas.

Boston Bruins vs Washington Capitals Live Stream Free: Watch NHL Hockey Online (Start Time, Preview)

The Boston Bruins travel to the Verizon Center to face the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League on Sunday. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. ET, and a live stream of the game is available (details below).

Ovechkin Charles LeClaire, USA TODAY Sports

Christian Post Report – Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals

Despite only one win in their last four games, the Capitals are still in the race for the Wild Card spot in the playoffs.

They’re currently fourth in the Metropolitan Division and hold a 12 point lead over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Unfortunately, they have also been riddled with injuries, with five players listed as either out indefinitely or day-to-day.

Three players have been sidelined in March alone, with Michael Latta and Brooks Orpik out with lower body injuries, while Jay Beagle is the latest casualty, and is listed as day to day due to a knock on his shoulder.

Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom need more help from other guys as they are the only two players who have exceeded 50 points so far this season. John Carlson is the next after the two stars with 46 points from 10 goals and 36 assists.

For the Bruins, they are fourth in the Atlantic Division but have improved their form as of late. They are also trying to chase a playoff spot whether it be a Wild Card or through automatic inclusion.

Brett Connolly is out until at least April after a finger injury during practice required surgery. He underwent a successful operation and is optimistic that he will be able to return just before the postseason begins.

Set to meet three times this season, the two teams have only squared-off once so far, with Washington winning big at Boston.

Ovechkin scored twice in the first period to set the tone of the game, while Mike Green and Joel Ward added to the lead in the second and third periods respectively to get two points in a 4-0 victory.

After this meeting, the two squads are set to clash for the last time in April.
