Kirk Franklin is continuing his mission to make God famous by bringing his Fo Yo Soul Entertainment record label to the South by Southwest music festival.

Christian Post Report – The South By Southwest (SXSW) film and music festival is entering its 28th year and will welcome gospel music sensation Franklin, 45. Franklin’s popularity is hard to ignore with his own Sirius XM radio station, Kirk Franklin’s Praise, television hosting gigs on The Game Show Network’s “The American Bible Challenge” and BET’s “Sunday Best.”

However, he took to Twitter to announce that his recording artists such as Tasha Page Lockhart and The Walls Group would join him at the festival in the form of a flyer on Twitter.

“We’re making God famous this year @SXSW pretty epic!,” Franklin tweeted.

Franklin and his gospel artists will be a part of the Kingdom Experience at the Promiseland Church in Austin, Texas, on March 20 for the SXSW experience. He previously spoke to The Christian Post about his goal to make God famous.

In a previous interview he discussed how much fun it is to be involved with his various projects, but revealed a deeper reason for taking on each endeavor.

“I’m always trying to find innovative ways to be able to keep God famous,” Franklin told The Christian Post. “For all the properties I’m involved in, that’s been my agenda. I think that sometimes we have compromised quality content for the fear of Christianity, and I think that they both can co-exist.”

The Walls Group, the quartet consisting of the Houston, Texas, based Walls siblings Darrel, 23, Rhea,19, Paco,18 and Ajah,16, have already experienced what it feels like to top the iTunes Christian/Gospel Charts and receive over one million views on Vevo with their first single “Perfect People.” While the group will be joining Franklin at the upcoming festival in their home state, they previously spoke to The Christian Post about receiving counsel from the legendary musician.

“One thing Kirk taught us is the fact that we are here to serve, not to be served,” Darrel previously told CP. “And we carry that with us. We never want to forget who it’s all about.”

HTC One E8

Christian Post Report – The Mobile World Congress was just a week ago and yet a number of upcoming devices are already preparing to make their way to the market.

One of the latest handsets to make an appearance through leaked images is the HTC One E9 (previously known as the A55).

In a report by GSM Arena, the Android-powered smartphone was spotted in Chinese regulatory website TENAA.

In the report, the high-end device gets showcased in several angles, including a rear view shot that highlights its massive primary camera.

Based on previous rumors, the device will boast the same 20MP camera of the One M9, although the image shows a much bigger sensor that can possibly work better in low-light conditions.

Other alleged specs of the device include a MediaTek chipset that supports 64-bit applications, 3GB of RAM, and a 32GB internal memory.

The “lower-end” model is also said to boast a 5.5-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, as well as a 13MP front shooter, if not the 4MP UltraPixel camera of recent high-end devices from HTC.

While the HTC One E9 is definitely a looker, its polycarbonate plastic build may turn off some consumers. It was probably a design choice in order to keep the pricing low for the Android device.

In the report, the One E9 will be officially launched either on March 11 or 17, based on the latest invitations the Taiwanese manufacturer sent out.

LeSean McCoy reuters.com

After being traded to the Buffalo Bills LeSean McCoy gets a big new contract

The Buffalo Bills traded for LeSean M McCoy. The star running back was reportedly upset with that move, so the Bills signed their new acquisition to a huge contract extension to help erase is unease with joining their roster. Even with a soft market for veteran backs the Bills went out of their way to make their new star happy.

Pro Football Talk is reporting the deal is for five years and it increases his 2015 compensation from $10.25 million to $16 million. That is a big number for a running back putting the contract into the realm of what Quarterbacks tend to make in the NFL (in terms of total compensation for 2015). McCoy’s agent released further details. There is a $13.125 million dollar signing bonus. The year one salary is $2.65 million with a $250,000 workout bonus makes his earnings $16 million in the first year of the new deal.

Due to the structuring of the deal McCoy will never count more than $10 million against the cap. That and the fact the base salaries do not spike at the end of the deal make this deal very cap friendly and one that is likely to keep McCoy in Buffalo for the entire length of the deal.

The base salary grows to just $6.175 in year five.

After their head coach essentially quite the Bills have made several big moves. They have hired Rex Ryan to take over the team, and help it build a new identity. They have traded for McCoy, and there is news that they have resigned pass rusher Jerry Hughes.

The Bills also brought in OL Richie Incognito. Incognito was a part of the bullying scandal while with the Miami Dolphins. The team has new ownership and beyond being committed to the Buffalo area, it appears they are committed to building a winner out of the Bills.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Christian Post Report – Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” is one of the reasons to look forward to this summer. Set to reprise MCU’s all-time favorite characters like Thor (Chris Helmsworth), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans), and many others, talks about the upcoming film are currently focused on its primary antagonist, Ultron.

Director Joss Whedon shed some details about the villain saying that the character, along with its powers, will have a different origin as opposed to the comic book canon.

“They reinvented him in Ultimates and stuff. At one point he was a beautiful woman … I’m not doing that one!” he told SFX magazine. “I loved him when I read the comics as a kid, because of the scope and the sci-fi and what the team was going through, but I never looked to Ultron himself in the comics for why I love Ultron.”

The character Ultron, voice-acted by “The Blacklist” star James Spader, is also being compared with the first Avenger’s enemy Loki (Tom Hiddleston).

“The thing that worked about Loki was that he was able to get inside everybody’s head a little bit, and Ultron, he’s got the same thing. He knows pretty much everything there is to know about these guys. The only way you can attack Earth’s mightiest heroes is from within,” Whedon explained.

Speaking about Spader, Whedon commended how the actor hit all the notes for the role.

“Everything I’ve ever given to Spader he’s just knocked out of the park,” the 50-year-old director said.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” premieres May 1, 2015.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for PC to be Released Sept.15

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain FACEBOOK/ Metal Gear Solid

Upcoming action-adventure stealth video game from Kojima Productions “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain”

Christian Post Report – Konami has announced that “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” game for PCs will be released on September 15, a few weeks after the version for consoles will be released on Sept. 1. This is not an unusual arrangement as when “Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes” was released in 2014, the PC version arrived nine months after the console version in March 2014.

The game is directed by Hideo Kojima and is said to be a sequel of “Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes,” which means that it continues the narrative from the events in that installment of the game. It is classified as “an open world stealth game” where players take on the character of mercenary Venom Snake, also known as Big Boss. The game is set in 1984 during the Soviet War where Snake is shown navigating through combat settings in Afghanistan and Africa, according to Gamespot.

Gaming sites offer detailed descriptions of the game’s features prior to its release. According to the game’s wiki on IGN, the open world in the sequel is “200 times the size of MGS: Ground Zeroes,” spanning Afghanistan and Africa. Some of the new features in the setting and terrain include “cracked walls” that are “climbable,” as well as weather changes that occur as time passes, which affect the player’s gameplay. The game’s creator also said that the game will feature a “new day-and-night cycle that runs in real time,” which means time zones will affect gameplay as well if the player travels through different time zones in the game.

Combat is still a crucial part of gameplay and the game reportedly offers many more options for players to use. According to IGN, the biggest new feature in terms of combat is “the emphasis on non-lethal takedowns,” which allows you to transport your enemies back to your Mother Base where they can be trained to become part of your army.

Mother Base, which serves as the center of operations, will be in the process of rebuilding in the sequel, because it was destroyed in “Ground Zeroes.” The base can be equipped with everything the player needs from men to transport and others through the game’s The Fulton System which “is rapid balloon airlift first implemented during the Vietnam War.”

As with the “Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes,” the sequel comes with Metal Gear Online where players can compete in 6 vs. 6 or 8 vs. 8 team combat.

Sony Xperia Z4 Release Date, Specs Rumors Round Up

Sony Xperia Z4 Youtube Screenshot/ file

Sony Xperia Z4

Christian Post Report – It has not been long since Sony unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z3, in September 2014. Soon afterwards, news began started circulating about its next flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z4. This is fuelled by an earlier claim that Sony intends to change its production cycle from its shorter six month cycle to a longer annual cycle.

The first rumored release date of the Xperia Z4 was during the recently concluded Mobile World Congress, but since that has passed, one rumored release date is summer or July 2015. Sony has already introduced the Xperia Z4 tablet which is supposed to be released in June or July so it makes more sense to have a smartphone that goes with it, according to Trusted Reviews. Another speculation, according to Android Pit, is that Sony may launch the full-sized Xperia Z4 in May and the Xperia Z4 compact in November 2015.

Design-wise, some reports are basing their guesses on alleged design leaks which show that the Xperia Z4 may not deviate much from the design of the Xperia Z3 which is based on what it calls the OmniBalance design. TechRadar says that the new phone will “have thinner top and bottom bezels as well as more rounded corners.”

There is also a rumor that Sony may come up with a Walkman version of the Xperia Z4 which will have better speakers, longer battery life and support for music playing, of course.

The phone’s display will also receive an upgrade, if the rumors are true. One report says that it will have a 5.5 inch screen with QHD (2560 x 1440). The Xperia Z3 only had a full HD display. Another report, however, says that Sony just might have a QHD version and a full HD version.

In terms of processing power, the new phone is said to have a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 810, a significant improvement from the Xperia Z3’s Snapdragon 801. It will also have a 4 GB RAM and at least 32 GB of internal storage.

The phone’s camera will be the same as the Xperia Z3, with a 20.7MP resolution, but supposedly equipped with a new sensor allowing the user to take better photos in lower light settings. It’s front-facing camera is said to be 4.8MP.

The battery will have a 3420mAh capacity. It’s also likely that the new flagship will have Android Lollipop pre-installed.

‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ News, Show Could Revolve Around Mysterious Cecil Hotel

Cecil Hotel Reuters/File

Firefighters emerge from Cecil Hotel, located in downtown Los Angeles, Cali., on January 31 after they remove the body of 21-year-old guest Elisa Lam who was found dead inside the establishment’s water tank.

Christian Post Report – Fans were already excited for another serving of the hit FX horror anthology “American Horror Story.” Earlier reports indicated that the upcoming chapter will be titled “Hotel.”

While there’s still little to zero available information on what “Hotel” will be about, several media outlets voiced speculation that Season 5 might be tied to a mysterious and real-life scary hotel incident.

Bloody Disgusting bringing out the theory that the new AHS might cover the recent mysterious death case at Cecil Hotel which took place in January 2013.

As stated, a 21-year-old Elise Lam was found dead in a water tank. What makes the case so bizarre is the fact that prior to the tank drowning, a hotel video surveillance footage caught Lam having (what appears to be) an elevator haunting issue.

The site went on to mention the shocking information referring to the alleged serial killers Richard “the Nightstalker” Ramirez and Jack Unterweger who, at one time, are inhabitants of the said hotel.

Other sources seem to suggest that the establishment has also been linked to a number of suicides and unexplainable death cases.

The publication also pointed out the hotel’s relevance to the case of Elizabeth Short, who was last seen in season one getting a “brand new smile” from a “doctor” residing in the basement.

Although the theories have somehow hit the notes, FX has yet to unveil the plot storyline in the coming months.

“American Horror Story: Hotel” is slated to air this October.
