Christian Post Report – 2015 is turning out to be a good year for tech manufacturers and techies as new devices have been released to great fanfare at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada on January and at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week.

Two of the most anticipated devices are LG’s G Flex 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S6. The G Flex 2 made its debut at CES 2015, and many were impressed with its ability to bend and flex just like its predecessor, but the phone features a lot of improvements on the previous model.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S6 launched at the 2015 MWC, and Samsung’s new flagship phone underwent a dramatic—and welcome—change in design and has amazing specs that could firmly place it on top of every best smartphone of the year lists.

Here, we compare the two handsets.

Design:
The LG G Flex 2 is lighter, thinner, and more flexible than its predecessor. Pushing down on the phone will cause it to flatten, but as soon as any weight or pressure is off the device, it springs back into its curved shape right away. The phone has a self-healing coat, making scuffs and scratches a thing of the past. The phone measures 5.9 x 3 x 0.4 inches and weighs 5.4 ounces. The handset comes in Flamingo Red and Platinum Silver.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S6 now has a metal body, very different from the previous plastic builds of past models. The phone is a tad smaller and lighter than the G Flex 2 as it measures 5.6 x 2.8 x 0.27 and weighs 4.9 ounces. It’s also available in more colors such as White Pearl, Gold Platinum, Black Sapphire, and Blue Topaz.

Features:
The G Flex 2 has a bigger display than the Galaxy S6, but the Samsung phone wins when it comes to screen resolution. The G Flex 2 has a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080p resolution and pixel density of 403ppi, while the Galaxy S6 has a 5.1-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and pixel density of 557ppi.

The LG phone comes in two storage options, 16GB and 32GB, which LG claims can be expanded up to 2TB with a microSD card. Samsung has done away with the microSD card slot for the S6, but it comes in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants.

The Samsung phone also dominates when it comes to cameras. The S6 has a 16MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter, while the LG phone has a 13MP rear camera and 2.1MP front facing camera.

Price:
Off contract, the LG G Flex 2 costs $699.60, while the Samsung Galaxy S6 will reportedly cost $855 for the 32GB model, $970 for the 64GB variant, and $1,085 for the 128GB model when it goes on sale in April.

“Friday. It’s gonna get real. Blood will be shed,” Lenkov went to his social media. “NOT 1 tearjerker – 3 in a row. LAUGHS & ACTION too.”

‘Better Call Saul’ Casting Rumors, Update: ‘Breaking Bad’ Actor Aaron Paul to Join Spin-Off?

Aaron Paul (Photo: Reuters/Fred Prouser)

Actor Aaron Paul, star of AMC’s drama television series ‘Breaking Bad’, arrives for the premiere screening for the show’s fourth season in Hollywood, California June 28, 2011.

Christian Post Report – Without a doubt, Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould’s spin-off to their hugely-popular “Breaking Bad” series, “Better Call Saul” is certainly a show that can stand on its own without getting overshadowed with the former’s success.

However, it can’t be helped that “Breaking Bad” fans yearn for someone from the show to appear in the Bob Odenkirk-led prequel.

Now, a recent casting report from Variety pointed out that Aaron Paul’s famous Jesse Pinkman might get a spotlight or at least appear in “Better Call Saul.”

Paul certainly “hopes that he can eventually guest star on ‘Saul.'”

“We always have fun having that discussion — Vince [Gilligan], myself, Peter [Gould], the writers,” Paul said. “We just have no idea how that would happen. But hopefully one day.”

The 35-year-old “Need for Speed” star meanwhile admits that he is a big fan of “BCS.”

“I love it,” he said. “It’s a little weird because it kind of looks like ‘Breaking Bad.’ It has somewhat of a little bit different tone, but I know everyone involved, and I’m not involved in it at all and it’s a little weird, a little sad, but it’s great.”

Executive producer of “Breaking Bad” Michelle MacLaren meanwhile pointed out the great possibility of seeing Paul and co-lead star Bryan Cranston (who played Walter White in the original series) playing a cameo role in the latest installment.

“I think it’s open to whoever Vince and Peter decide to bring in. I would imagine that everyone who would ask would say yes,” the showrunner said.

“Better Call Saul” airs Monday at 10 p.m. on AMC.

iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus Specs Rumors, News: Next-Gen Devices to Arrive a Much Higher RAM and a Pre-Installed SIM

iPhone 6 (Photo: Reuters/File)

A customer holds an iPhone 6 (R) and iPhone 6 Plus.

Christian Post Report – Fresh from the Apple rumors mill, recent news pointed out that the next-gen iPhone and its Plus variant will arrive with a higher amount of RAM and a pre-installed subscriber identity module.

A report from GSM Arena cited an unnamed person who claims to have some knowledge with “Apple’s future product plans” saying that the iPhone 6s and 6S Plus will likely be launched with a 2GB of RAM.

The Cupertino-based tech giant has been shipping 1GB of RAM since 2012 so this news could mean that the company is already on the way of upgrading their devices. Several websites even went to say that this could also imply that users can now let background apps and tabs in Safari left for longer time without comprising greatly the unit’s battery life.

“What is the benefit of additional RAM? Extra RAM enables your smartphone to handle multiple tasks at once,” Amit Chowdhry wrote for Forbes.com. “This means it can handle many more tabs in a browser and faster responses from apps since more data can be stored in the memory, thus reducing the need for the smartphone to constantly access the slower flash storage. The difference in RAM is especially noticeable when you are playing games on your device.”

Still another rumor indicated that the upcoming reiteration of the 6 and 6 Plus might come with a pre-installed SIM like that of the iPad Air 2.

In the case of the tablet device, the pre-installed SIM feature gives users quick access for data plan from any participating carrier company by just going to the Settings. This also eliminates the need for any contract signing while giving owners the freedom to switch carriers of their choice.

The newest versions of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus could be outed sometime in the middle of the year.

OnePlus One Youtube Screenshot/ file

Will the OnePlus Two prove to be as reliable and spec-heavy as its predecessor, the OnePlus One?

Christian Post Report – OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei revealed that his tech company is now preparing to enter into a new smartphone product category next month and has plans on “revamping the design” for the next OnePlus reiteration.

A report from Business Insider cited a source who claims to have knowledge with the issue saying that the Chinese company will be handing out a new look to its well-received mobile device.

As detailed out, the next-gen OnePlus phone will likely to sport a metal frame, consequently replacing the polycarbonate wrappings of their 2014 flagship.

The premium styling, according to the source, would also eventually make the OnePlus 2 arrive with a higher than expected price tag.

Launched in April, the first OnePlus phone series kicked off for $300 for its 16GB model. Phone Arena meanwhile speculates that the pricing will likely to remain a lot cheaper when compared to any of the giant flagship brands like Apple with their iPhones and Samsung with their Galaxy Ss.

The site however, noted that the redesigning plans are yet to be finalized.

Pei informed NDTV Gadgets about the future of the company now that it has already gained traction in an ever-competitive technology market.

“For our first year, we’ve focused on just one product, the OnePlus One. Next year, we’re looking into experimenting with different types of form factors and different types of products,” Pei said.

As for the OnePlus Two release date, Pei previously told the media that the device can be expected to be unveiled in “Q2 or Q3 of 2015.”

Christian Post Report – Following the massive discounts of the current-gen Microsoft Surface Pro 3, currently selling at $800, speculations arise pointing out to the arrival of the tablet’s next reiteration, the Surface Pro 4.

A report from the Inquistr cited PC Pro saying that the Redmond, Washington-based tech giant might have some groundbreaking device that it will unveil probably towards the mid-part of the year.

The site went on to say that the alleged Surface Pro 4 will likely to hit the stores in two variants: a 12-inch model and a 14-incher device. Both, according to PC Pro will have a 2160 x 1440 screen resolution and will house an Intel Core M Broadwell chip. Furthermore, it will be running on the latest Windows 10 OS.

Set to rival yet another popular productivity device, the Apple MacBook Air 2015, the Surface Pro 4 will have a 16 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 1 TB. Rumored to come out in the March 9 Apple Watch unveiling event, the 12.9-incher Retina tablet will meanwhile feature a sleeker, more streamlined design.

Another competition in the market would be that of the already outed Dell XPS 13 laptop which, according to IBTimes, houses a 13-inch full HD display, an Intel Core i5 processor clocking at 1.6 GHz, and a 4 GB of RAM.

It has also been found out that Microsoft is at the moment, working on other devices to add up in the Surface Pro line. IBTimes said that it could either be a Surface Pro Mini tablet or a Surface-branded flagship smartphone. It was claimed that the mini edition will be powered with Intel Atom processor.
