MFM Daily Devotional 29 January 2019 – The Wonders of God’s Word(II)

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 29 January 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – The Wonders of God’s Word(II)

TOPIC: The Wonders of God’s Word(II) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 29 January 2019)

Bible In One Year: Exodus 21-22; Matthew 19

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Job 22:21-27

MEMORY VERSE: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” – Romans 1:16

The MESSAGE:

God’s word is the carrier of God’s power. The word of God opens new chapters for destinies. The word of God opens lives to new levels. That was the case with Joseph. When his word came, a new chapter was opened to him.

The word of God gives life. That is why the Bible talks about the life-giving water of the word. In addition, supernatural victory is domiciled in the word because God still upholds all things by the power of His word till now (Ephesians 6:17). The word of God produces signs and wonders (Matthew 4:1-4; Hebrews 1:3; Matthew 21:44). From the mystery of creation, we understand that God’s word truly creates solutions supernaturally (Genesis 1:1-3; Mark 16:20; Acts 14:3).

Beloved, the word of God is the believer’s divine panacea or cure all. The Bible says that God’s word is life to those who find it and health or medicine to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20-22). God sent His word, His word heals them and delivered them from their destructions. His word delivers; His word illuminates, guides and protect. His word empowers (Psalms 107:20).

For you to appreciate the innumerable benefits and wonders of God’s word, you must be born again. Study the word daily, obey God’s instructions from His word, memorise the word, meditate on the word and be a doer of the word. Finally, share the word with others and use it to win souls for Christ.

Everything you need for fulfilled life on earth and eternity in heaven is in God’s word. Become a word addict today. You will also become an environmental transformer, a world changer and a performer of signs and wonders in your generation.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
THE WORD OF GOD HAS THE CAPACITY TO TURN YOU TO A WONDER.

PROPHETIC WORD:
Your destiny helpers shall locate you by fire.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. O Lord, give me honey from the well, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Let the wonders of God’s word manifest in my life today, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Father, send Your word to perform miracles in my life today, in the name of Jesus.
    EVENING
  4. Father, I reject all that robs me of the joy of inheritance in Your kingdom, in the name of Jesus.
  5. Lord Jesus, begin a deep work within my heart today, in the name of Jesus.
  6. I reject every spirit of slavery and hardship, in the name of Jesus.

Seeds of Destiny 29 January 2019 Devotional – The God-Revolving Decisions and Actions

Topic: The God-Revolving Decisions and Actions [Seeds of Destiny 29 January 2019 Devotional]

Scripture: And this will we do, if God permit. Hebrews 6:3

Thought For The Day: Taking a God-revolving decision or action is key to success in life.

Destiny is a product of decisions and actions of life. Great destinies are birthed as a result of great decisions and actions; also, small destinies thrive on small decisions and actions.

Now, one of the secrets of great men like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses and even our Master Jesus Christ was that they all took decisions and actions that revolve around God. Therefore, taking a God-revolving decision or action is key to success in life.

Also, to live for God is to make decisions and take actions that revolve around our relationship with God. Let me give you a practical example: as a lady who is about to get married, when you take decision and action that revolve around God in the area of your marriage, you are not going to be carried away by any rich man you see. When someone who is rich comes to marry you, the questions to ask yourself are: Does he have a relationship with God? Does he fear God? Or is it just his money I want to marry? In the same way, as a young man, if you see a young girl to marry, you need to ask yourself: Does this lady fear or respect God? Does she have a spiritual stand with God? Or am I attracted to her because of her container? If you see a job, the questions you need to ask yourself are; will the job help me to serve God better? Or will it take me to hell?

Beloved, make up your mind to live for God and God only; take decisions and actions that revolve around God only and you would be distinguished in life.

Remember this: Taking a God-revolving decision or action is key to success in life.

Amazing Fact: Your eyes contain 7 million cones which help you see colour and detail, as well as 100 million cells called rods which help you to see better in the dark.

Assignments:

  1. Let all your decisions and actions revolve around God always.
  2. Draw closer to God always in order to know what He wants you to do.

Prayer: O Lord, I receive the grace to take decisions and actions that revolve around You, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna 29 January 2019 – Get The Cleaning First

Topic: Get The Cleaning First [DCLM Daily Manna 29 January 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Isaiah 6:1-8 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged(Isaiah 6:7).

MESSAGE:

Charles Spurgeon had a sinful habit of smoking cigarette. It became a concern to many of his followers who saw him smoke openly. One day, he invited a guest minister who spoke on the need for believers to shun “little foxes” such as smoking, adding that anyone who was still involved in the habit of smoking was not really a child of God. There was rowdiness in the congregation because they wondered why their pastor was into smoking. After the preacher ended his message, Spurgeon was said to have climbed the stage and in a bid to water down the effect of the message, said: “Brethren there are things which to men appear sinful, but to God they are not so; despite what Brother Pentecost has said, tonight I hope to smoke a good cigar to the glory of God.”

Within days, tobacco companies in the country used his picture to advertise their products. We are told that it was that sad experience that got him genuinely converted. He gave up the habit and was totally purged of it. He later accomplished a lot for God.

Prophet Isaiah had been living his life, dwelling among people of “unclean lips”; he never realised he had a serious limitation until the very day when he had a special visitation. For the first time, he “saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and his train fill the temple.”

He had an experience and encounter that changed his life completely. He had his mouth touched with a live coal by a messenger of God, a Seraphim. It was after that touch that his sins were purged and iniquity taken away. The presence of God should make us humble in worship like Isaiah.

Those who are still “undone” and of “unclean lips” have no business bearing the word of God to others. You need to be purged today.

Thought For The Day: A clog on wheel of revival we would be, unless we disentangle ourselves from yokes of limitations.

Our Daily Bread 29 January 2019 Devotional – Algae and Diatoms

Topic: Algae and Diatoms [Our Daily Bread 29 January 2019 Devotional]

Bible in a Year: Exodus 23–24; Matthew 20:1–16

Stop and consider God’s wonders. – Job 37:14

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Job 37:14-24

“What’s a diatom?” I asked my friend. I was leaning over her shoulder looking at pictures on her cell phone she had taken through a microscope. “Oh, it’s like algae, but it’s harder to see. Sometimes you need a drop of oil on the lens or they have to be dead to see them,” she explained. I sat amazed as she scrolled through the pictures. I couldn’t stop thinking about the intricate detail God put into life that we can only see with a microscope!

God’s creation and works are endless. In the book of Job, one of Job’s friends, Elihu, points this out to Job as he struggles through his loss. Elihu challenges his friend, “Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God’s wonders. Do you know how God controls the clouds and makes his lightning flash? Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonders of him who has perfect knowledge?” (Job 37:14–16). We, as humans, can’t begin to understand the complexity of God and His creation.

Even the parts of creation we can’t see reflect God’s glory and power. His glory surrounds us. No matter what we’re going through, God is working, even when we can’t see it and don’t understand. Let’s praise Him today, for “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted” (Job 5:9).

Today’s Reflection
Lord, thank You for the detail You put into creation and for being at work even when we can’t see it.

Liberty Counsel Files Suit Against Maryland for Banning Gender-Confusion Counseling

Liberty Counsel Files Suit Against Maryland for Banning Gender-Confusion Counseling

Christian religious freedom group Liberty Counsel is suing the state of Maryland, arguing that the state’s ban on gender-confusion counseling violates the constitutional rights of counselors, parents and youth.

Liberty Counsel Assistant Vice President of Legal Affairs Roger Gennam said that the Maryland law makes it illegal for counselors to meet with youth to discuss gender identity conflicts.

“In other words, if a 17-year-old experiencing same-sex attraction wants to get some counseling to overcome or get through with it in order to confirm with that 17-year-old’s sincerely held religious beliefs, the state of Maryland says that’s illegal and it will go after the license of the counselor who provides any such counseling,” he said.

Liberty Counseling has asked for a preliminary injunction, which keeps the law from being implemented until the lawsuit is settled.

According to WND.com, Liberty Counsel is representing Christopher Doyle, a licensed professional counselor in Maryland.

The Maryland law went into effect in October 2018.

California and New Jersey are two other states that share a similar law, but last year, the Supreme Court rejected those laws in those states.

“With the Supreme Court’s rejection of Pickup and Brown, the therapy bans in California, New Jersey, and other jurisdictions are subject to constitutional…

Kenneth Copeland Devotional 29 January 2019 – Just Do It

Topic: Just Do It [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 29 January 2019]

And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. – Luke 13:14

Religion is dangerous. Religion would rather debate about healing than see somebody healed. Religion would rather argue about deliverance than see someone set free.

You can see an example of that in Luke 13. Jesus healed a woman who had been bowed over for 18 years. Think of it, a dear old woman—a daughter of Abraham Jesus called her—set free after being bound by the devil for nearly two decades. You’d think the temple rulers would have been rejoicing at what Jesus had done. But, no! They were angry because He’d done it on the wrong day.

Do you know what’s worse? Those very same religious leaders who criticized Jesus for healing on the Sabbath could have ministered healing to that woman themselves on any of the other six days of the week if they’d cared enough to do it.

That’s why Jesus was so indignant with them. They had the same covenant of Abraham that Jesus was ministering on. But their religion had kept that woman bound instead of setting her free. It always does.

Remember that next time someone tries to get you sidetracked into a religious debate about healing or deliverance. If someone needs to be delivered from a demon, just do it! Don’t get all hung up on theological questions about where the demon is.

“Is it in his body? Or his brain? Or his spirit? Or his pocket?” While you’re arguing about questions like that, the demon will be driving the poor guy up the wall.

The question isn’t, “Where is the demon?” The question is, “Why haven’t we gotten this man delivered? He’s our blood brother in the Name of Jesus and he ought to be free!”

Once you start asking that question, you won’t care whether that demon is inside or outside, hovering over or sitting under. All you’ll care about is getting that person free!

That’s the difference between religion and the love of God. Religion argues. Love acts. Choose love today.

Andrew Wommack Devotional 29 January 2019 – Sharing Our Faith

Topic: Sharing Our Faith [Andrew Wommack Devotional 29 January 2019]

John 1:41, “He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.”

Text: John 1:37-42

Andrew was the first disciple of Jesus to share his faith and bring another to Christ. And look who it was that he brought.

Peter became one of the greatest apostles of Jesus. He preached on the day of Pentecost and saw 3,000 born again. He healed a lame man at the gate of the temple and 5,000 were born again as a result. He raised Dorcas from the dead, introduced Christianity to the Gentiles, and wrote two books of the Bible which have ministered to millions of people through the centuries.

Just think of how many millions of people Peter touched, and Andrew was responsible for it all. The accomplishments of Peter recorded in scripture, far outnumber those of Andrew, and yet without Andrew, Peter would not have known Jesus.

In the eyes of God, what Andrew did was just as important as what Peter did. As the one who introduced Peter to Jesus, Andrew had a part in every exploit of Peter. In the day when we receive our rewards from the Lord, Andrew will share in every reward that Peter receives.

Very few of us will shake our world as Peter did his, but all of us are called to share our faith with others as Andrew did. And who knows? One of those that you reach could be the next Peter.

Billy Graham Devotional 29 January 2019 – Share What He Has Done

Topic: Share What He Has Done [Billy Graham Devotional 29 January 2019]

I will declare thy name unto my brethren . . . — Psalm 22:22

There are those near you in your own community who need the regenerating power of Christ. You can call them by name. I suggest that you make a list and begin by spending time in prayer for them.

Ask God to show you how to witness to them and how to win them. Their lives can be transformed by the message you give them. You are to share this Gospel you have received. If Christ has done anything for you, then share it. In so doing, you are showing mercy! As you have received the mercy of God by the forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal life-thus you are to show mercy! And in showing mercy you will not only receive mercy but you will find a stimulating happiness!

Prayer for the day: As I close my eyes in prayer, let me see the faces of those who need to know You, beloved Savior.

Cully Pratt and Mark Lillis Share How They Are Working to Help At-Risk Communities

Cully Pratt and Mark Lillis Share How They Are Working to Help At-Risk Communities

Cully Prat and Mark Lillis sat down with Billy Hallowell for the PureFlix podcast where they shared how they are working to change the hearts of man in order to turn communities around.

Mark Lillis is the founder of The Leaven, a mentorship and learning center that works to help kids in “high density, high crime neighborhoods” have better lives. The learning centers are intentionally placed in the middle of struggling neighborhoods and they work to provide kindergarteners through fifth graders with a safe and productive place to spend their time after school and during the summers.

Lillis said, “We established a tutoring center within the neighborhood and it’s kindergarten through fifth grade because we were told by the Department of Education that, at the third-grade level, if a child is behind, there’s a high, high probability that they will be dropping out of high school.”

At the centers, kids are not only studying their school curriculum, but they are also being taught life skills such as healthy eating, active living and college preparedness, and being given the chance to meet and develop relationships with first responders.

Pratt, who has worked in law enforcement for some 16 years, said this is the best program he knows of that allows him to develop relationships with at-risk kids. Pratt told Hallowell, “This is one of the best programs…

Open Heaven 29 January 2019 – From Above or From Abroad?

Open Heaven 29 January 2019 Tuesday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – From Above Or From Abroad?

Topic: From Above or From Abroad? (Open Heaven 29 January 2019)

Memorise: “My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”- Psalm 121:2

Read: Psalm 121:1-8 (KJV)

1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Bible in One Year: Luke 8, Isaiah 28:1-13

Open Heaven 29 January 2019 Tuesday MESSAGE:

Some people miss their blessing, breakthrough or victory in life because their attention is focused on the wrong thing. For pilgrims heading towards the temple in Jerusalem, distraction was not an option, which is why they sang the song of Psalm 121. Through this song, they declared what their attention was focused on, saying in Psalm 121:1-2:

1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”

To seek help from above is to seek help from the God of heaven. He alone can guarantee that you will not be disappointed, because only He has all the power in the whole universe and never sleeps nor slumbers. On the other hand, to seek help from abroad means seeking help from man or human institutions. More often than not, the promised help of man fails and causes those who rely on it great heartbreak and shame. I have learnt to trust God for all the help I need in the ministry that God has committed into my hands, and also for my personal and domestic needs. In fact, it is an ordinance in our church that we will not seek help from man; rather, we consider Jesus to be our unfailing Source. In the Redeemed Christian Church of God, our help comes from above, and I am happy to announce to you today that Jesus has never failed us. Years ago, I was confronted by some journalists in Britain on how the Festival of Life we hold there was being funded. I boldly told them that God supplies our needs through my children in Africa without any recourse to the British economy, and God has been faithful in doing this.

Beloved, I want you to look up to God for that miracle you are expecting – be it provision, victory, healing or whatever. Be like David who boldly declared in Psalm 23:1:

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

He will not fail you, because He is God and not man. Underneath you are the everlasting arms that guarantee your victory. King Hezekiah knew this, and so he focused his attention and faith on what God could do to save him and Judah (2 Chronicles 32:7-8). Are you a head of government of a nation putting your trust in “world powers” for territorial or economic protection? Remember that power belongs to God alone. Therefore, put your trust in the God of Israel and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will help you, and you will not be put to shame in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 29 January 2019 Tuesday Prayer Point:

Father, I put my trust in you; please don’t let me ever be put to shame.

Open Heaven 29 January 2019 Tuesday Hymn 8: My Faith Looks Up To Thee

  1. My faith looks up to Thee,
    Thou Lamb of Calvary,
    Saviour divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
    Take all my guilt away,
Oh, let me from this day
    Be wholly Thine!
  2. May Thy rich grace impart
    Strength to my fainting heart,
    My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
    Pure, warm, and changeless be,
    A living fire!
  3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
    And griefs around me spread,
    Be Thou my guide;
    Bid darkness turn to day,
    Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
    Nor let me ever stray
    From Thee aside.
  4. When ends life’s transient dream,
    When death’s cold, sullen stream
    Shall o’er me roll;
    Blest Saviour, then in love,
    Fear and distrust remove;
    Oh, bear me safe above,
    A ransomed soul!
