Abortion Doctor Compares Abortions to Miscarriages, Says, ‘God Performs Way More Abortions than I Do’

Abortion Doctor Leah Torres took to Twitter on Saturday to say, “God performs way more abortions than I do.”

The doctor, who according to WDN, was in hot water last year for “boasting” that she cuts unborn babies’ vocal cords to prevent them from screaming, took to twitter over the weekend to seemingly respond to tweets that were sent to her.

Referring to her career choice, Twitter user Jake Highwell asked Torres, “I wonder what God thinks?”

The doctor from Utah responded saying, “Everyone seems to assert they know what god thinks, so have at it.”

“God performs way more abortions than I do, so there’s that,” she added seemingly implying that miscarriages are God’s abortions.

The Tweet, which went viral, was met with some support, but mostly it was met with disbelief and frustration.

One Twitter user, Toni, commented on the post saying, “Except most miscarriages are because of an issue with the pregnancy/ non viability & most abortions are viable pregnancies. But you know that.”

What Mitt Romney’s niece thought of his editorial on Trump

Conflicting values are generating many of today’s headlines.

For instance, Mitt Romney wrote a Washington Post op-ed advocating decorum in the White House and claiming that President Trump “has not risen to the mantle of the office.” His niece, Ronna Romney McDaniel, chairs the Republican National Committee. She responded in a tweet claiming that her uncle’s editorial “feeds into what the Democrats and media want and is disappointing and unproductive.”

In other political news, President Trump and congressional leaders met yesterday afternoon, but the two sides could not reach an agreement to end the partial government shutdown. The president insists on funding for the border wall; Democratic leaders offered a package of bills without such funds. Talks will resume tomorrow.

Our culture is locked in an ongoing conflict between those who value “civil rights” for LGBTQ persons and those who value religious rights for Americans who affirm biblical morality. Pro-choice advocates value the woman’s right to choose; pro-life advocates value the unborn child’s right to life.

We all view life through the prism of our values. Which leads to the question: What does God value most?

“The seventh day still continues”

Each day of creation ends with the refrain, “And there was evening and there was morning” (cf. Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31). However, after God created the seventh day and “rested from all his work that he had done in creation” (Genesis 2:3), we find no such closing refrain. According to the English Standard Version Study Bible, this fact “prompt[s] many to conclude that the seventh day still continues.”

Across Scripture, God kept working within the universe he created so long ago. He judged sin through the Flood, spoke to Moses in a burning bush, liberated his people from Egyptian bondage, and established the Jewish nation in the Promised Land.

Then the One through whom “all things were created” (Colossians…

Former private school chaplain to stand trial on indecent assault charges

Gary Dobbie is accused of assaulting the young boy on several occasions while he was a teacher at Christ’s Hospital School in West Sussex.

The 67-year-old, who was a head of house at one point and lived in the school grounds, denies three charges of indecent assault between 1986 and 1991.

Now living in Albi, France, after having previously lived in Hereford, he is set to stand trial in April, Sussex Police said.

Prosecutors decided not to proceed with allegations made against him by another of the school’s former pupil, a police spokesman said.

Before his arrest, Dobbie was teaching at the independent Shrewsbury School in Shropshire.

Christ’s Hospital is one of the oldest boarding schools in the country, dating back to the 16th century when it was founded in London by King Edward VI, who signed a Royal Charter for it just 11 days before his death in 1553.

The Queen is a patron of the site, now based in Horsham.

Today it has 830 boarders who are charged fees of up to £31,500 a year, alongside 70 day students.

In a nod to tradition, pupils still wear a Tudor-style uniform of a long blue coat and high yellow socks.

Famous alumni include poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Sir Barnes Wallis, inventor of the bouncing bomb.

Northern Ireland church attacked for third time in a year

The Ballyclare Free Presbyterian Church had its windows smashed in the latest incident.

It is believed to have occurred overnight between 28th and 29th December.

While no arrests have been made, the police have discussed anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in the town centre with members of the community.

In a Facebook post, an officer asked: “Parents, do you know where your young ones are of an evening?

“Please have a word before we end up with an arrest charge and court appearance.”

Anyone who saw suspicious activity around the church in recent days should contact police on 101.

Dealing with the Regret of Successful Revitalization

SUBSCRIBE TODAY:
iTunes • RSS • Stitcher • TuneIn Radio • Google Play • Spotify

When revitalization takes place in a church, a church changes. Those changes create pain points in the church and sometimes people want to go back. Today, we explore this and discuss how to combat it and move forward.

This Week’s Question:

FROM TERRY — I have pastored my church for 8 yrs. When I took the church the congregation acknowledged its need for revitalization having only 6 attending members. We now have between 25 and 40 depending on time of year. Some now regret the revitalization and want to scale back services by cancelling one or both evening services a week. Their reason is the workload is too much but they reject any offer of assistance. Any suggestions?

Episode Highlights:

  • As churches grow, sometimes they need to remove things from the schedule rather than adding them to keep the focus on reaching others with the gospel.
  • When it comes to paring down programs in churches, choose to keep the ones that are truly making disciples.
  • A church mission statement should be actionable and inspirational.
  • Church membership classes need to focus on information, expectations, and assimilation.

The six keys that we cover are:

  1. Evaluate the “why” behind their attitudes
  2. Evaluate the “why” behind your current schedule
  3. See if your have a true and clear process of discipleship
  4. Conduct a church health survey
  5. Review your new members’ class
  6. Conduct a ministry survey

Resources mentioned in this…

Joyce Meyer Devotional 3 January 2019 — The Power to Do Good

Topic: The Power to Do Good [Joyce Meyer Devotional 3 January 2019]

Come close to God…and He will come close to you… — James 4:8 (AMP)

I heard a story about former New York City mayor Fiorello LaGuardia. One winter night in 1935, LaGuardia paid a visit to night court in the poorest section of the city. He told the judge to take the night off, took his seat on the bench, and presided over the night’s cases himself.

Soon a tired, despondent elderly woman appeared before him because she had been charged with stealing a loaf of bread. In her own defense, she said, “My daughter’s husband left her. She is sick, and her children are hungry.”

The storekeeper had no mercy. With a sigh, LaGuardia said to the woman, “The law is clear. I have to punish you.” He fined her ten dollars. As he was pronouncing the woman’s sentence, LaGuardia was simultaneously reaching into his pocket to pull out a ten-dollar bill. He dropped it into his hat and said:

“Here’s the ten-dollar fine, which I now remit, and furthermore, I’m going to fine everyone in this courtroom fifty cents for living in a town where a person has to steal bread so her grandchildren can eat. Mr. Bailiff, collect the fines and give them to the defendant!”

The total collected for the grandmother was $47.50.

I like the fact that the mayor of New York City used his position of authority to influence others to help the poor grandmother. Any time we can inspire or provoke others to do good, we need to do so.

Prayer Starter: Lord Jesus, help me to use my influence to help others to do good. Let my heart break with compassion for those in need. Help me to always stand up for the rights of the innocent. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Thanksgiving & Praise Secure God’s Presence in Your Home (Part 4) By Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Thanksgiving & Praise Secure God’s Presence in Your Home (Part 4) By Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Topic: Thanksgiving & Praise Secure God’s Presence in Your Home (Part 4)

Dear Reader,

We have come to the concluding part in this teaching series, I believe you have been working in the light of God’s Word as He unveils it to you. So far, we have seen what thanksgiving and praise means and how it can secure God’s presence, peace and protection in the home. Today we shall be exploring: Thanksgiving and Praise as a Guarantee for God’s Provision. When thanksgiving and praise becomes your lifestyle, you enjoy bountiful provision in your home. The truth remains, God is the great provider of our needs, and He wants us to thank Him for all He has provided. The Bible says: In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Are you in the habit of complaining about what to eat, clothes to wear and the house to live in? Stop it! You must be grateful for what God has given you. Remember thanksgiving and praise benefit us not God. God owes you nothing for He has done all things well; rather you owe Him thanksgiving and praise. As you thank and praise Him, you won’t need to struggle for your needs to be met anymore because they will be met on their own accord. The Bible says: Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us (Psalm 67:5-6). Jesus came as our supplier and provider; He was made poor so that we through His poverty might be rich. There is no lack and want in heaven, when you thank and praise God, you ascend to the realms of the heavenlies, where you can access everything that praise has to offer; your supernatural provision inclusive.

However, you must understand that until you thank God for what He has provided, you do not qualify for more of His provision. Think of this, most of us would not consider giving thanks if we had only five loaves of bread and two fishes to feed a multitude. Instead, we may murmur and complain, thereby missing out on the miracle of provision. The Scripture says: Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude (Luke 9:16).Today I want you to focus on those things you have, not on things you don’t have and immensely thank God with a sincere heart for it, and as you do, you will experience the miracle of provision in Jesus name!

The testimony below is remarkable:

A sister got home from Church one night and there was nothing for her and her children to eat. We were in the month of not asking God for anything, but rather thanking Him and giving Him praise for everything. So, the Holy Spirit spoke to her heart, to pour water in a bowl and dish it out to everyone.

Strange though it seemed, she obeyed. She dished out the water, they all gave God thanks, drank the water and went to bed joyfully.

The following day, someone came and gave her 4,000 naira and then there was so much to eat! The way she sounded, it was like she had never handled such a large sum of money in her life.

God is fearful in praises! Every time thanksgiving and praise is given its rightful place, strange occurrences take place. Do you want to see the wonders of supernatural provisions? Now ask God to show you how to stay in praise. Thanksgiving and praise work anywhere, anytime and any day! Until you stop questioning God and start thanking and praising Him, you may never experience the God of supernatural supplies. Now put on the garment of praise!

Your thanksgiving and praise will only be acceptable to God after you are born again. If you are not yet born again and you desire to do so right now, please pray this prayer with faith in your heart: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom. Congratulations!

If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21). With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace in Jesus’ name!

TREM Devotional 3 January 2019 – Sin Shall Not Have Dominion Over You

Topic: Sin Shall Not Have Dominion Over You [TREM Devotional 3 January 2019]

“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law but under grace.” Romans 6:14 KJV

So early in this year, the Lord is settling the issue of our relationship with Him. This is because the devil is ever ready to rob you of what belongs to you when you walk in ignorance.

Over the years, many have struggled with the good news – the message of salvation which is over the top good news and too good to be true, yet it is true. Man, in the fallen nature is so consumed with sin that when he accepts Jesus into his life, he carries that sin consciousness into the new birth. But beloved, you cannot put the new wine into the old wineskin.

You must be clear about what Jesus did for you on the cross. He did not pay the price for His own sin – because He was totally sinless. He walked through this earth sinless; so He had nothing to pay for. But the Bible says in Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death. So when He died, whose sin was He paying for? Yours and mine. If He paid, why do you want to pay again?

I am sure the question you are asking is: ‘what if I make a mistake; what happens?’ Beloved, your past, present and future sins have all been paid for. So, sin does not have the power to have dominion over you. You are no more a servant to sin, you are now a son of God and when a son misses it, what does he do? He runs into the loving arms of the father because he knows that the father will forgive him. In the same vein, as a child of God, when you miss it, don’t run from God, run to Him. His arms are open to receive you. Talk to Him as your Father and receive strength from His presence to please Him.
