Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, who is facing federal investigations, will step downfrom the Trump administration by the end of the year.

President Donald Trump announced the change, saying on Twitter: “Secretary of the Interior @RyanZinke will be leaving the Administration at the end of the year after having served for a period of almost two years. Ryan has accomplished much during his tenure and I want to thank him for his service to our Nation.”

His replacement will be announced next week and then the Senate will vote to confirm the post.

According to CNN, possible replacements include Deputy Interior Secretary David Bernhardt and Nevada Republican Sen. Dean Heller.

Meanwhile, Zinke is facing inquiries into his actions in office, including his department’s “handling of a Connecticut casino project, whether the boundaries for Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument were redrawn to benefit a state lawmaker, and conversations between Zinke and Halliburton Chairman David Lesar about a land development project in Zinke’s hometown of Whitefish, Montana.”

He says the allegations against him are “false.”

The parents of a Michigan teen who took his own life were left in shock after a Catholic priest used the teen’s funeral as an opportunity to condemn his actions. Maison Hullibarger committed suicide on December 4, and his family scheduled the funeral to take place on December 8 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Father Don LaCuesta, the family’s local priest, was set to preside over the service.

Shockingly, however, Father Don LaCuesta took the opportunity to slate Maison as a sinner for committing suicide and even asked whether the teen had “repented in the eyes of God.” On multiple occasions, the priest bluntly doubted that the enthusiastic football player had managed to reach heaven following his death. The family expressed their discomfort with his remarks, but the minister continued on his awful rant.

The parents of the University of Toledo freshman, Jeff and Linda, met with LaCuesta before the service to indicate what they wanted him to say at their son’s service. When he decided to instead preach a sermon emphasizing the sinfulness of suicide, Jeff was quick to react. The hurt father approached the priest in the middle of his condemning sermon, pleading “Father, please stop.” LaCuesta did not halt the sermon, but continued to fling words of conviction.

Public schools across the U.S. are incorporating meditation practices in the classroom and placing children who don’t wish to participate in the hallway, according to a religious liberty legal group.

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) says the practice is “similar to anciently established Buddhist and Hindu practices” and violates the U.S. Constitution.

The schools use a program called Inner Explorer. 

“By allowing inherently religious programs, like Inner Explorer, into the classroom, public schools are promoting a religion in violation of the Establishment Clause of the Constitution,” ACLJ’s Christina Stierhoff wrote in a story on the organization’s website. “Parents need to be assured that they can trust public school systems to properly educate their children, not indoctrinate them.”

Inner Explore says on its website its mission is to “provide mindfulness in schools for PreK-12 classrooms, helping children develop self-awareness, self-control, resilience and compassion.” 

“Each series contains 90 audio-guided practices that can be used every day by simply logging in and pressing play,” the Inner Explorer website says. “Students and their teachers participate together in the brief (5-10 minute) daily practices. No prep, planning or curriculum changes required.”

Students in one United Kingdom city now will be taught that boys have periods, too, as part of new curriculum recommendations approved by the city council.

The report for students in Brighton & Hove recommends that “language and learning about periods is inclusive of all genders, cultures, faiths and sexual orientations.”

Teachers are to use language such as “girls and women and others who have periods,” according to the report.

The Brighton & Hove city council approved the recommendation, according to The Telegraph.

“By encouraging effective education on menstruation and puberty, we hope to reduce stigma and ensure no child or young person feels shame in asking for period products inside or outside of school if they need them,” the city council said in a statement. “We believe that it’s important for all genders to be able to learn and talk about menstruation together… Our approach recognises the fact that some people who have periods are trans or non-binary.”

Feminine products will be available in boys and girls restrooms.

But the report has plenty of critics. David Davies, a members of Parliament, told The Mail it was “insanity” to teach children that boys have periods.

“Learning about periods is already a difficult subject for children that age, so to throw in the idea girls who believe they are boys also have periods will leave them completely…

A Minnesota Muslim Democrat Congresswoman took to social media Tuesday to mock Vice President Mike Pence’s Christian faith. 

Congresswoman-elect, Ihlan Omar posted a photo of Pence to during Tuesday’s Oval Office meeting to Twitter. According to WND, Pence, who was in a meeting where President Trump, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer were arguing over the U.S.-Mexico border crisis, was photographed with his eyes closed.

Omar took this opportunity to post the photo of the Vice President to Twitter and captioned it, “Jesus take the wheel!” She also included in the caption “#BorderWall.”

While Omar may have found the comment to be comical, many found the photo offensive. Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch wrote, “Just imagine the establishment media uproar that would ensue if Pence had mocked Omar’s faith. But in this case, leftist ‘journalists’ will just join in with Omar and mock Pence themselves.”
