Swimming Bacteria Defy Darwin’s Theory

Tiny biological motors that give bacteria the power to swim possess a complexity that baffles scientists and undercuts Darwin’s theory of evolution. A recent study in Scientific Reports claims the existence of the motors shows evolution produces inevitable and creative ideas, terminology that sounds more like the work of God than of natural selection.

“Natural selection is supposed to be blind, random, and uncaring, but not here,” Discovery Institute experts wrote on the organization’s blog.

Each of the proteins involved in the bacterial motor’s function is essential. The motors could not have worked before all the right accidental mutations required by natural selection took place, but with no survival benefit, natural selection would not choose them.

Charles Darwin himself admitted that the discovery of such irreducible complexity would destroy his assumptions. “If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down,” he wrote in On the Origin of Species.

Nevertheless, the researchers said a biological “quantum leap” spurred the evolution of bacterial motors. Lead researcher Morgan Beeby likened the quantum leap to what would happen if the necks of giraffes suddenly increased in length because a giraffe gave birth to offspring with necks a meter…

Open Heavens 20 January 2018: Saturday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Sacrificial But Profitable Living

Open Heavens 20 January 2018: Saturday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Sacrificial But Profitable Living

Topic: Sacrificial But Profitable Living [Open Heavens Saturday 20th January 2018]

Memorise: Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.Ephesians 3:13

Read: Luke 5:8-11 (KJV)

8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:

10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

Bible in One Year: Genesis 42-43, Revelation 18:19-19:10

MESSAGE: Open Heavens 20 January 2018

When Peter left the object of his breakthrough in life – the big catch of fishes – to follow after a nomadic teacher, it was a sacrificial decision. However, that singular decision brought purpose and meaning to his life. I often credit Peter as one of the most popular men who ever lived, because in every continent of the world you will find at least one edifice or another named after him. How did he achieve this? He chose to live a life that was profitable to his Maker, even though it required a lot of sacrifice in the beginning. In like manner, it took a lot of sacrifice for Apostle Paul to abandon his doctorial title in law for the sake of evangelising the Way which he once opposed so vehemently. Open Heavens 20 January 2018

A life that is profitable to God begins with the second birth. A fellow who gives his or her life to Christ is saying, “The marvellous grace of God which Jesus Christ paid such a high price for, will not go to waste over me”. If you haven’t given your life to Christ, you have to start a profitable life today by surrendering your life to Him. Peter did this at the Lake of Gennesaret, in Luke 5:8:

“When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.”

Paul also did the same thing on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:3-6). Beloved, God is also calling out to you. These are His words to you today:

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;” – Acts 3:19

However, if you are born again, you need to know that a life of sacrifice is what is expected of a disciple of Jesus Christ. The Lord expects you to be ready to give your all, and if required, lay down your life for the sake of the gospel. Here is His promise to those who do this:

“…Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” – Mark 10:29-30

May the Lord help your decision in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point: Father, please help me to live a sacrificial and profitable life for You through the help of Your Holy Spirit in Jesus’ Name.

Hymn 12: Take My Life, And Let It Be

1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise,
Let them flow in endless praise.

2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee,
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3.Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose,
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee,
Ever, only, all for Thee.

President Trump is First President to Address National March for Life

“I’m honored and really proud to be the first president to stand with you to address the 45th march for life,” declared President Trump during his live addressto the March for Life in Washington D.C. on Friday, January 19th, 2018.

President Trump is the first inaugurated President of the United States to directly address the March for Life in Washington D.C. from a live satellite feed. Life Site Newsreported that the rally is in honor of the 60 million children killed in the womb since abortion become legal on January 22, 1973. In the historic Roe v. Wade case, the Supreme Court ruledthat women have the right to an abortion under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. The March for Life proceeds up Constitution Avenue to the Supreme Court and Capital Building.

Pope accuses sex abuse victims of slander

Francis said that until he sees proof that Bishop Juan Barros was complicit in covering up the sex crimes of the Reverend Fernando Karadimas, such accusations against Mr Barros are “all calumny.”

The pope’s remarks drew shock from Chileans and immediate rebuke from victims and their advocates.

They noted the accusers were deemed credible enough by the Vatican that it sentenced Karadima to a lifetime of “penance and prayer” for his crimes in 2011.

A Chilean judge also found the victims to be credible, saying that while she had to drop criminal charges against Karadima because too much time had passed, proof of his crimes was not lacking.

“As if I could have taken a selfie or a photo while Karadima abused me and others and Juan Barros stood by watching it all,” tweeted Mr Barros’ most vocal accuser, Juan Carlos Cruz.

“These people are truly crazy, and the pontiff talks about atonement to the victims. Nothing has changed, and his plea for forgiveness is empty.”

The Karadima scandal dominated Francis’ visit to Chile and the overall issue of sex abuse and church cover-up was likely to factor into his three-day trip to Peru that began late on Thursday.

Karadima’s victims reported to church authorities as early as 2002 that he would kiss and fondle them in the Santiago parish he ran, but officials refused to believe them.

Only when the victims went public with their…

Government Shutdown Looms if Lawmakers Can’t Agree on Spending Bill

Government Shutdown Looms if Lawmakers Can’t Agree on Spending Bill

A government shutdown could be on the way— the first one in more than four years.

House Republicans voted Thursday to keep the government open, but many are worried that the Senate will not be able to agree on a proposed spending plan.

A vote could come today.

“These are hard issues, there’s a lot of disagreement. Not just on substance but how to proceed to it. And everybody’s trying to gain leverage,” said Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.).

House Republicans voted Thursday on a spending plan that would keep the government open for another four weeks.

The vote was 230-197, with 11 Republicans in opposition to the plan and six Democrats voted in favor of the plan.

In the Senate, the bill needs 60 votes to break a filibuster.

Meanwhile, some Republican senators have said they already intend to vote against it because they believe the short-term funding will harm the military.

“I’m not going to vote for 30 days more of chaos,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

Some Democratic senators have also said they plan to vote against the plan because it does not address the issue of the thousands of immigrants would face deportation.

Federal funding runs out at midnight Friday. If no spending plan is approved by then, the federal government will begin to shut down non-essential operations.

Young Mother on Verge of Suicide Says Visit to Craig Groeschel’s Life.Church Saved Her

(Screenshot: Twitter/Life.Church)Britny Richardson in a video for Life.Church posted on January 15, 2018.

A young mother, who one day was on the verge of suicide as she felt she was unable to care for her children, has shared her inspirational story of speaking to God during a visit to pastor Craig Groeschel’s Life.Church, which she says saved her.

“I didn’t realize what being a single mom would be like. There are days where I couldn’t afford to feed myself, and I would ask my mom to please feed my kids before they came home after I got them from work,” Britny Richardson says in a video posted by Life.Church on Twitter earlier this week.

“I got so depressed, and I decided that I was going to sign my kids over to their dad, and I was just going to end my life,” Richardson adds.

She says that she went to church one more time and that she remembers asking God “please help me.”

“And God showed me His grace, and His love, and His mercy,” she states, which was followed by video clips of her recieving a water baptism.

“It’s amazing to see what God’s doing in so many lives through this church, and I get to be one of them,” she comments.

The video noted that there have been 1,554 baptisms at the 24 locations of the Edmond, Oklahoma-based megachurch.

The topics of suicide and mental…
