Trump Administration Opens Office to Protect Healthcare Workers’ Conscience Rights

The Health and Human Services Department (HHS) unveiled a new division Thursday to help ensure healthcare workers can do their jobs without being forced to violate their faith.

The new Conscience and Religious Freedom Division falls under the Office for Civil Rights. Federal statutes protect freedom of conscience and religion but have lacked enforcement over the years. This new wing of HHS seeks to preserve the rights of Americans who do not want to participate in abortion, assisted suicide, or other practices that violate their religious convictions.

“Laws protecting religious freedom and conscience rights are just empty words on paper if they aren’t enforced,” said Office for Civil Rights director Roger Severino.

HHS logged 10 complaints regarding religious freedom violations between 2008 and November 2016, Severino told reporters Wednesday.  Since President Donald Trump’s election, the department recorded 34 complaints to the Office of Civil Rights as more and more healthcare workers feel coerced.

“No one should be forced to choose between helping sick people and living by one’s deepest moral or religious convictions, and the new division will help guarantee that victims of unlawful discrimination find justice,” Severino said.

Former HHS Secretary Tom Price resigned in September and the Senate has yet to confirm Trump’s chosen…

Our Daily Manna January 20, 2018: ODM devotional: Lord Let Every Evil Hand Wither!

Our Daily Manna January 20, 2018: ODM devotional: Lord Let Every Evil Hand Wither!

Topic: Lord Let Every Evil Hand Wither! [Our Daily Manna ODM Saturday, January 20th, 2018]

Basic Scripture: 1 Kings 13:1-10

In 1 kings 13, a man of God went from Judah to bethel to carry out his ministry assigned by God and this is what the enemy tried to do with his EVIL HAND through king jeroboam see VS 4: so it came to pass when king jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, who cried out against the alter in bethel, that he stretched out his hands from the alter saying “Arrest him!” Then his hand, which he stretched out towards him, withered, so that he could not pull it back to himself.”

Ah this is what will happen to any evil hand that will be stretched out to arrest any area of your life this year. Note:” THEN HIS HANDS WHICH HE STRETCHED OUT TOWARDS HIM, WITHERED” I prophesy: Any evil hand stretched out this year to ARREST YOUR DESTINY or resist, oppose and battle against decoration, promotion fruitfulness, job, open doors, favors and marital testimony shall wither by fire in this fasting programme and beyond in Jesus name.

Ezekiel 30: 19-22 declares “thus will I execute judgments in Egypt: and they shall know that I am the LORD….. I have broken the arm of pharaoh king of Egypt, and lo it shall not be bound up to be healed, to put a roller to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword…… Behold I am against pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms the strong and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

Did you get that? The LORD says that this year 2018 He will break the hand of pharaoh and cause the sword to fall out of his hand! Oh! I am dancing already because you will dance this year! Just like the hand of jeroboam withered, your God will stretch forth his mighty hand and break and cut off every EVIL Hand and make their swords (their plans) a disappointment to them in Jesus name!

Determine to complete this fast and sow your” EVIL HAND JUST WITHER SEED” also called the CHANGE OF GARMENT DECORATION SEED in this fasting programme and be at the WORLD ANOINTING CHANGE OF GARMENT DECORATION NIGHT with your prophetic dress/garment/shirt which you will tear that night (not the one you wear to the programme)! Get ready! And pray the DECORATION PSALM that will be sent to you after sowing! WHATSAPP AND EMAIL ARE BETTER AND CONTAIN FULLER PRAYERS than just texts! See page 29 for your account details. This is your year!

TODAY IS DAY 15 OF THIS FASTING PROGRAMME! turn to “WAR AGAINST HAMAN 13” and pray today’s prayers. Then be at the TBS Lagos on Friday January 26th 7pm for the change of garment world anointing night! Bring a second dress that you can afford to tear after prayers! It will be great!

Prayer Points: Take song 2: My hope is built…..

Thank God for today’s word and pray as you are led

LORD LET EVERY EVIL HAND stretch forth against my life, family career business, ministry, wither by fire in Jesus name. Decree that your year will be great and you will not miss the anointing night.

Seeds of Destiny 20 January 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Accessing The Wisdom Of God

Seeds of Destiny 20 January 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Accessing The Wisdom Of God

Topic: Accessing The Wisdom Of God [Seeds of Destiny Saturday January 20th, 2018]

Scripture: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5

Thought For The Day: The man who is present with God is a candidate for the wisdom of God.

The Scriptures make it clear that wisdom is a very essential and non-negotiable ingredient to success in the journey of life and destiny. No one on earth can maximize his or her life or fulfil destiny without the operation of the spirit of wisdom.

Therefore, it is very essential to look at the source of wisdom. It is one thing to know what wisdom is all about, it is another thing to know how to acquire it. Knowing the importance of a thing without knowing how to get it leads to frustration in life.

Now, how do we access the wisdom of God?

1. The Presence of God

One major source of the wisdom of God can be accessed is the Presence of God. In other words, the Presence of God is the depot of wisdom. The man who is present with God is a candidate for the wisdom of God.

The scriptures make it abundantly clear that our God is a God of wisdom. He created the world by wisdom and set the heavens in place by the operation of the same wisdom. He does everything by His wisdom. In fact, He is Wisdom Personified (1 Corinthians 1:30). That is why men who walk with God are men of wisdom. Association with the Almighty God brings about the impartation of wisdom.

2. The Lives of people who walked with God

Another source of wisdom is the lives of people who walked with God. This means that walking with God is walking in wisdom; men who walk with God walk in wisdom. To access the wisdom of God, it is important to follow the footsteps of such men.

Remember This: The man who is present with God is a candidate for the wisdom of God.

Assignments:

1. Make up your mind to live in God’s Presence.

2. Study the lives of men who walked with God in the past and follow their footsteps.

Prayer: O LORD, I ask that You draw me to Your Presence in order to learn Your wisdom for living, in Jesus’ Name.

Billy Graham’s Daily 20 January 2018 Devotional: The Real You

Billy Graham’s Daily 20 January 2018 Devotional: The Real You

Topic: The Real You [Billy Graham’s Daily Saturday January 20th, 2018]

For he knoweth our frame . . . — Psalm 103:14

It is significant that our first astronauts, while being trained for their moon flights, were required to give twenty answers to the query, “Who are you?” Take the same test yourself. When you have made your list and run out of things to add, ask yourself if you have truly answered. Do you really know who you are? Scientists agree that our desperate search leads all humans to seek heroes and to imitate others, to “paste bits and pieces of other people on ourselves.”

We make love as some actor would. We play golf in the style of Jack Nicklaus. Part of this process is natural, for we learn by imitating others. The tragedy is that the person we assemble is not genuine. “Who am I?” you cry as you roam the world looking for yourself. Consider this: there are three of you. There is the person you think you are. There is the person others think you are. There is the person God knows you are and can be through Christ.

Prayer for the day: Lord, help me to break through the façade and know myself as You do.

Andrew Wommack’s Daily 20 January 2018 Devotional: Spiritual Warfare

Topic: Spiritual Warfare [Andrew Wommack’s Daily Saturday January 20th, 2018]

Matthew 2:16, “Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.”

Text: Matthew 2:16-23

Satan was the real motivator of Herod’s actions. Ever since the Lord first prophesied that a man would bruise his head, Satan has been seeking out this “seed” of the woman (Gen. 3:15).

It appears that Satan is able to perceive when the Lord is making a major move in the earth. In the days of Moses, Satan moved Pharaoh to kill all the male children of the Israelite slaves, and here he motivates Herod to kill all the male children in Bethlehem. No doubt he was seeking to eliminate this “seed” who was going to bruise his head.

Once again, we see children being slaughtered today. This time it’s through abortion. Our youth are also being attacked in unprecedented ways. Is it possible that Satan thinks this is the generation that is to bring in the second return of the Lord? Is he, in desperation, trying to stay off his doom by destroying this generation?

We need to have enough spiritual perception to recognize that just as in the days of Moses and Jesus, this slaughter of the innocent children today is an indication of an even more important struggle in the spiritual realm. We might be the generation that sees the Lord come back. Praise the Lord!

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily January 20, 2018 Devotional: Believe the Love

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily January 20, 2018 Devotional: Believe the Love

Topic: Believe the Love [Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, Saturday January 20th, 2018]

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. – 1 John 4:16

One day as I was walking along a highway through a park praying, I asked a simple question, “Lord, what do You want me to tell Your people?” Without a moment’s hesitation, these words came ringing through my spirit and my mind:

Tell them how much I love them.

They were so filled with love and compassion that it defies words to express it. For days afterward all I could think of was 1 John 4:16. “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.”

We’ve read about God’s love. We’ve heard about it. But I don’t think many of us have really believed it. If we did, it would totally change everything about us and everything around us.

It’s that love that caused Jesus to lay down His life for us and to experience for Himself all the pains and weaknesses we experience. It’s that love that says to us, even when we feel so unworthy, Come to Me and get what you need. Don’t be shy about it. I’ve been there. Come boldly to the throne of grace that you may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Think about it. God is in love with you—so in love, He’s given you everything He has! He’s given you all the healing, all the wisdom, all the wealth, all the strength you could ever need.

“But what about my terrible past?”

That’s what His mercy is for! It’s taken care of your past. It’s covered every sin and failure you ever had. All you have to do now is believe and receive His love.

What a shame it is that people suffer at the hands of sickness and disease and every other cursed thing just because they can’t believe the love God has for them. Don’t let that happen to you. Learn to believe the love.

Believe the love God has for you. It’s already been released in the blood of Jesus.

Believe the love. It’s already been released in Jesus’ Name.

Believe the love. It’s already been released in His Word.

Meditate that scripture over and over. Say it to yourself again and again all day, “I believe the love Jesus has for me.” Once it gets down into your heart, you’ll never be the same again.

Our Daily Bread 20 January 2018 Devotional – My Help!

Our Daily Bread 20 January 2018 Devotional – My Help!

Topic: My Help! [Our Daily Bread 20th Saturday January, 2018]

Read: Psalm 121, Bible in a Year: Genesis 49–50; Matthew 13:31–58

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:2

For decades the renowned Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir has blessed multitudes through their soul-refreshing gospel songs. One example is their recording from Psalm 121 titled “My Help.”

Psalm 121 begins with a personal confession of faith in the Lord who brought all things into existence, and He was the source of the psalmist’s help (vv. 1–2). Just what did this mean? Stability (v. 3), around-the-clock care (vv. 3–4), constant presence and protection (vv. 5–6), and preservation from all kinds of evil for time and eternity (vv. 7–8).

Taking their cues from Scripture, God’s people through the ages have identified the Lord as their source of “help” through their songs. My own worship experience includes lifting my voice with others who sang a soulful rendition of Charles Wesley’s, “Father, I stretch my hands to Thee, no other help I know; if Thou withdraw Thyself from me, ah! whither shall I go.” The great reformer Martin Luther got it right when he penned the words, “A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing; our helper He amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing.”

Do you feel alone, forsaken, abandoned, confused? Ponder the lyrics of Psalm 121. Allow these words to fill your soul with faith and courage. You’re not alone, so don’t try to do life on your own. Rather, rejoice in the earthly and eternal care of God as demonstrated in the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ. And whatever the next steps, take them with His help.

Prayer: Father, how grateful we are that Scripture and song remind us that You are our source of help. Help me to not forget that this day.

The Maker of the universe is the helper of God’s people!

Insight:

All male Jews were to come to the temple to observe three annual feasts (Deuteronomy 16:16). As the pilgrims made their way up the highlands where Jerusalem is located, they sang from a collection of songs known as the “pilgrim psalms” (Psalms 120–134). The Hebrew title marks these psalms as “songs of ascents.” Psalm 121, the second of the pilgrim psalms, has been called “The Traveler’s Psalm.” The psalmist addresses our need for safety and protection as we journey through life, assuring us that our God will help us and keep us safe. In Psalm 124, David continues this same theme, deliberating the possible disastrous outcomes “if the Lord had not been on our side” (vv. 1–2). Undeniably, if God does not help us, we will not survive! (vv. 3–5). Concluding his deliberations, David assures us that God has not abandoned us. God is our defender and deliverer. With confidence we can say, “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth” (121:2).

How does Psalm 121 help you when you feel threatened by life’s journey? K. T. Sim

Thousands of Frozen In Vitro Babies are Waiting for a Chance to Live

Thousands of Frozen In Vitro Babies are Waiting for a Chance to Live

As pro-life advocates gather in Washington, D.C., this week to give a voice to the unborn on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, one large group of unborn children may be forgotten in the fight: the hundreds of thousands of embryos currently frozen at fertility clinics across the country, at least some of whom belong to Christian, pro-life families.

It’s not uncommon for me to meet Christian, pro-life mothers who admit they currently have embryos waiting in the freezer that they don’t know what to do with. My friends Josh and Angie faced a similar dilemma. After suffering through years of infertility, they decided to pursue in vitro fertilization in 2008 and ended up with many more embryos than they wanted to give birth to and raise.

When they realized how many little lives were at stake, they peppered God with questions: “Haven’t we already gone through enough? What do we do now?” Could they have avoided the situation by having their doctor fertilize fewer embryos? Surely. But they knew that life, no matter how it begins, isn’t an accident, and that God doesn’t make “extras.”

A few years later, I gave birth to my first child and my husband and I discovered that we are carriers for a terrible genetic disorder. We knew we wanted to expand our family and turned to embryo adoption as a possible option. When we told our pastor about our adoption hopes, he…
