John 6:61, ‘When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?’

John 6:60-69

This scripture, as well as Matthew 15:12, reveals that people will be offended by the Gospel. As much as possible, however, we should make sure that it is not ourselves that are offensive. But we cannot labor under the deception that everyone will receive the Gospel, even if the truth was presented properly. We know that Jesus represented His Father perfectly and yet most people rejected His message.

In these two instances, when Jesus realized He had offended the listeners, He didn’t apologize and try to make concessions to gain their acceptance. Instead, He got harder. This hard message of commitment is not only beneficial to those who receive it, but it serves a dual purpose in that it exposes the ‘tares among the wheat.’

It is important to be aware that the children of the wicked one are placed among the true believers. We should be very careful about putting just anyone who professes Christianity into any position of authority (1 Tim. 3:10). Our best defense is to preach the Word of God without watering it down. False brethren will not endure sound doctrine (2 Tim. 4:3). They leave when the Word, which is sharper than any two-edged sword, begins to expose the thoughts and intents of the heart. There will still, however, be those who are deceived and unaware that they are not born again, remaining among the Church until the end of this world.

As long as Jesus was in the world in His physical body, He was lighting the way to the Father. He now shines through our lives. It is our responsibility to be a witness. The purpose of a light is to dispel the darkness. So ‘let your light shine before men….’ (Matt. 5:16).

School Renames Mother’s Day Event: ‘We No Longer Subscribe to a Binary World’

School Renames Mother’s Day Event: ‘We No Longer Subscribe to a Binary World’

An Australian school renamed a Mother’s Day fundraiser this year and plans to do the same with a Father’s Day event because, the principal says, the world has changed.

Brunswick East Primary School in Melbourne traditionally holds a fundraiser each May called a “Mother’s Day stall” where homemade food is sold. This year’s stall, though, was re-named the “Appreciation stall.”

Children were encouraged to purchase the food and use it as gifts on Sunday.

“I sincerely hope that this change in name will show that we as a community recognize that our families are not made up of any particular combination of people and that we no longer subscribe to a binary world,” principal Janet Di Pilla wrote to families in a newsletter, according to the Melbourne Herald Sun.

She also apologized to families who were offended by the previous name.

“I am sorry that in the past we have offended some members of our community and I hope that this acknowledgment goes some way to address any hurt which has occurred in the past,” Di Pilla wrote.

She added there had been a “lot of discussion about the reason we celebrate these days and the naming of the celebration.”

“I believe that days like this are important because we do need to stop and show gratitude for those around us,” the principal said, according to the newspaper. “The…

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love . . . — Romans 12:10

Living creatively for Christ in the home is the acid test for any Christian man or woman. It is far easier to live an excellent life among your friends, when you are putting your best foot forward and are conscious of public opinion, than it is to live for Christ in your home. Your own family circle knows whether Christ lives in you and through you. If you are a true Christian, you will not give way at home to bad temper, impatience, fault-finding, sarcasm, unkindness, suspicion, selfishness, or laziness. Instead, you will reveal through your daily life the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, and all the other Christian virtues which round out a Christ-like personality.

Prayer for the day: My family, Lord, knows the real me—they deserve so much more. May I live so close to You that Your love will flow through me to them.

Written by Billy Graham, Founder of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association(BGEA). BGEA exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by every effective means and to equip the church and others to do the same.

Christ Is Your Life – Rhapsody of Realities 14 May 2019

Topic: Christ Is Your Life

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory (Colossians 3:3-4).

Being born again, your life is hid with Christ in God; Christ is your life. You received eternal life; a supplanting of your natural human life by His divine life when you were born again. What you have in you now is the Christ-life.

The Lord Jesus took the depraved, defeated, destroyed and broken human life away from you. The life of sin, failure, defeat, rejection and shame was taken away from you, and in replacement, He gave you a life of righteousness, honour, peace and glory. You were dead, but now alive in Him.

Think about it: if Christ is your life, then everything about your life is Christ. How then could you be said to have cancer? How could you have a blood disease or sickness of any kind in your body? It’s not possible!

Satan has lied to many and deceived them into believing that nothing really has changed even though they’re now born again. No; the problems, the darkness, misery and pains that were associated with your natural human life; the infirmities that were there before you were born again, have all passed away.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” The word, “behold” means to see or reckon. God wants you to see that you’re now a new man; you’re now in Christ, and Christ is in you. Christ is your new environment and home. Therefore, it makes no difference the infirmity or deformity you might have been born with; you have a new life now.

Romans 8:10 says, “And if Christ is in you, though your body be dead because of sin, but the Spirit gives it life because of righteousness.” It therefore doesn’t matter what happens or has happened to your body, Christ in you makes you whole, well, and sound. Have and walk in this consciousness. Walk bold and fearless, full of faith and confidence, because Christ is your life. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I’ve got the life of Christ at work in my spirit, soul and body. It’s working in every fibre of my being, in every cell of my blood and in every bone of my body. No sickness, disease or infirmity can thrive in my body. I’m absolutely impregnable and indestructible because Christ is my life!

Conservative Leaders Implore the White House to Oppose the Equality Act Which Threatens Religious Freedom

Conservative Leaders Implore the White House to Oppose the Equality Act Which Threatens Religious Freedom

In a statement on Friday, nearly 100 conservative leaders requested that the White House oppose the Equality Act, which many organizations say seriously threatens religious freedom.

The Act passed the House Judiciary Committee earlier this month and is now facing a floor vote. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has pledged to make the act one of her top legislative priorities, according to CBN News.

The bill “prohibits discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity in areas including public accommodations and facilities, education, federal funding, employment, housing, credit, and the jury system. Specifically, the bill defines and includes sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity among the prohibited categories of discrimination or segregation,” according to a summary on Congress’ website.

Many organizations, including the Family Research Council, March for Life, Heritage Action for America, the Media Research Center, Judicial Watch, and American Values signed the statement.

“The titles of these bills belie their consequences, which will undermine parental rights, and the pro-life and conscience rights of medical professionals, make environments inherently unfair, unequal, and unsafe for women and curtail religious freedom for both religious organizations and people of faith,” the statement…

Rugby Player Found Guilty of ‘High Level’ Breach of Contract for Posting Bible Verse on Instagram

Rugby Player Found Guilty of ‘High Level’ Breach of Contract for Posting Bible Verse on Instagram

Australian rugby player Israel Folau has been found guilty of breach of contract by Rugby Australia for posting a Bible verse on homosexuality.

As Christian Headlines previously reported, Folau, who was contracted with Rugby Australia until 2022 and was paid over $1M a year, was fired for posting 1 Corinthians 6:9, warning that drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists, and idolaters will go to hell.

Despite his termination, Folau requested a three-person independent hearing, according to the BBC. The hearing determined his breach of contract and will consider written statements from both parties before deciding Folau’s punishment.

Folau had been warned about his posts previously. “At its core, this is an issue of the responsibilities an employee owes to their employer and the commitments they make to their employer to abide by their employer’s policies and procedures and adhere to their employer’s values,” Raelene Castle, chief executive of Rugby Australia said.

The rugby player has since lost two of his major sponsors since the post. As reported by CBN News, both Land Rover and Asics have let go of his contracts. “We champion inclusivity and diversity,” Asics wrote in a statement. “While Israel Folau is entitled to his personal views, some of those expressed in recent social media…

‘Heartbeat’ Abortion Bills Advance in Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana

‘Heartbeat’ Abortion Bills Advance in Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana

Legislative proposals that aim to ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected are on track to becoming law in three southern states. Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia are all on course to pass the bills, which would make abortion almost completely illegal and protect the most vulnerable in our society – the unborn.

The fetal heartbeat is usually detected at around six weeks, meaning that abortion will be close to completely outlawed if the bills succeed.

In Georgia, a proposed fetal heartbeat bill has earned the signature of state Governor Brian Kemp and will go into effect at the start of next year. “Our job is to do what is right, not what is easy,” Kemp said at the signing ceremony, according to the New York Times. “We are called to be strong and courageous, and we will not back down.”

“This is a historic day for Georgia,” added Catherine Davis of the pro-life organization, Human Coalition following the momentous occasion. “This is a day that many of us who have been in the pro-life fight for years and years and years didn’t really think it would be possible, in light of the politics of the issue.”

Georgia’s bill is set to go into force on January 1.

The pro-life cause has enjoyed sweeping successes this year, with governors from Mississippi, Ohio and Kentucky all signing fetal heartbeat bills and lawmakers in South Carolina and…

King of Jordan pays to restore Church of Jesus’ tomb

King Abdullah II of Jordan has contributed to the repairs of a number of holy sites in the Holy Land, including the place of Jesus’ baptism at the Jordan River and the Edicule, or ‘little house’, over Jesus’ tomb.

The Jordan News reported that Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem has expressed his gratitude on behalf of himself, the members of the Holy Synod, the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre, and the clergy and members of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem towards the King for his continued commitment to the care of the historical sites and the constant effort of the Hashemite royal family in Jordan to promote unity between Islam and Christianity.

In a press release issued on Monday, Patriarch Theophilos III said: “His Majesty’s donation is a practical implementation of the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and reflects the King’s personal commitment to the security and future of the holy city,”

Parents Keep 700 Students Home to Protest LGBT Elementary Curriculum

Parents Keep 700 Students Home to Protest LGBT Elementary Curriculum

Two days after a California school board approved new curriculum that includes LGBT history, parents of more than 700 students kept their children home in protest.

The Rocklin School District Board OK’d the curriculum May 1 by a vote of 3-2, requiring students in kindergarten through fifth grades to learn about the contributions of key LGBT figures in history and social studies curriculum, according to the Sacramento Bee. Rocklin is about one-hour northeast of Sacramento.

A group of parents known as the Informed Parents of Rocklin had urged the board not to include the curriculum in elementary grades.

The board’s action was in response to a new state law requiring schools to include the contributions of “lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans” in history lessons.

Unlike sex-ed, there is no opt-out for parents in the law.

Parents of more than 700 students kept their children home on May 3, according to Sacramento’s Fox 40.

“We believe that anyone who has made a significant contribution to society should, of course, be included in our history textbooks,” Rachel Crutchfield, spokeswoman for Informed Parents of Rocklin had said earlier in the week. “However, the concept of sexual orientation is far too complex of a topic for elementary-aged children to be introduced to at school. … Let’s let kids be kids.”

Thousands join pro-life march in London

The march comes as pro-choice campaigners increase pressure on Westminster to introduce abortion on demand in Northern Ireland and to make changes to abortion legislation in England and Wales.

The march finished in Parliament Square where the crowd was addressed by a line-up of keynote speakers including abortion survivor Melissa Ohden and president of Culture of Life Africa Obianuju Ekeocha.

Melissa Ohden, speaking to the crowd in Parliament Square, said: “I am standing here with you today as a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a Master’s level prepared social worker, and yes, as an abortion survivor.

“You would never tell by looking at me today, but 41 years ago, I survived a ‘failed’ saline infusion abortion.

“In my work as the founder of The Abortion Survivors Network, I have had contact with 286 other abortion survivors, including five from the U.K. four of whom are still alive today.

“Despite the miracle of my survival, the doctor’s prognosis for my life was initially very poor.

“My adoptive parents were told that I would suffer from multiple disabilities throughout my life.

“However, here I am today, perfectly healthy. Whether I had lived with the expected disabilities or not, my life still deserved to be protected and respected, I still was worthy of the love that my family freely offered.”
