Text: Job 22:1-20 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry” (Job 22:7).

MESSAGE:

Nothing hurts more than an unfair criticism or unkind words from someone you think is sufficiently so close as to understand and empathise with you when in a difficult situation. Shakespeare, in one of his great classics, Julius Caesar, pointed out this fact when Caesar, the brave Roman warrior and king stoutly confronted the conspirators but became weak and feeble when he discovered that Brutus, one of his most trusted confidants, was among the conspirators. He subsequently gave up the ghost and died with a feeling of betrayal, muttering, “et tu Brute?”

The passage reveals the words of Eliphaz, the Temanite, one of Job’s close friends at a very difficult moment in his life. His comments were no doubt harsh, sharp, unfair and untrue about the person of Job. This reflects the experiences of many in the world in terms of how people see them when things go awry.

Eliphaz simply concluded that Job was suffering for his great wickedness and several iniquities. Situations like this have led some to have severe psychological trauma such as depression, loss of self-confidence and self-esteem while some have become withdrawn or even stopped trusting others. Some have even taken the most extreme step of suicide in order to avoid shame and ridicule. The good news, however, is that there is a “friend that sticketh closer than a brother”, a Friend that loves to the end no matter your circumstances. He is Jesus Christ. He laid down His life for His friends. He knows your sorrows and pains.

Have you been going through pain because those you trusted stabbed you at the back? Or you think you have been used and dumped? Do not give in to discouragement or bitterness. Come to Jesus with your heavy heart and burden and He will take everything away and replace your sorrow with joy and your guilt with pardon.

Thought For The Day: Jesus is the Friend who never fails.

TOPIC: Who Needs Deliverance? (II)(Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 10 May 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 10-12; John 1:29-51

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:31-37

MEMORY VERSE: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” – Revelation 12:11

The MESSAGE:

We have seen how evil flow from parents into a life. Now let us look at the life of the individual to see where the doors of life can open to the devil. Since life starts from the womb, whatever happens from babyhood affects the life of the individual. So who needs deliverance?

A person who was starved when his or her mother was pregnant because of poverty, or ate the food from herbalists. A person whose delivery was in a native doctor’s house or somebody was chanting incantations to bring the person to this world. If you were dedicated or covenanted to an idol before you were born or your 8th day. If, as a child, you were abused physically, psychologically or spiritually. If you were sexually abused or exposed to pornography or sexual perversion or intercourse in any form as a child. If you were always sick as a child, or has imaginary playmates that only you could see. If you witnessed a fatal accident, or murder or war. If you ran away from house as child, or had perpetual bad dreams or was a chronic liar or thief. If you were stubbornly disobedient or rebellious as a child.

In adulthood, do you have a deep unexplainable sadness within you? If you are into drugs, alcohol or are drawn to bad friends, you need deliverance. If you are involved in masturbation or any form of sexual perversion, including sex with animals, you need deliverance. If you are lazy or cannot get or keep a job, you need deliverance. If you are a perfectionist or are dirty and filthy, not caring about your appearance, you need deliverance. If you have had an abortion or miscarriages or are barren, you need deliverance. If you are always being disappointed in love affairs, you need deliverance. If you have had your head washed in a running river or slept or had sex in the cemetery, you need deliverance. If you have eaten concoctions prepared by herbalists, you need deliverance. If you have ever carried a sacrifice to a cross road or been involved in any satanic cult or gang or had your star read by stargazers, you need deliverance. If you have killed a person, even accidentally, you need deliverance.

As a Christian, have you ever felt like cursing God? Do you find it hard to read your Bible or pray alone? Are you afraid of death? If your answers to these questions are in the affirmative, then you need deliverance.

Beloved, this is just a glimpse into the numerous ways the devil can cleverly create open doors to demons to enter into our lives and alienate us from God. Let us be grateful for the ministry of reconciliation that the Lord Jesus Christ came to initiate on earth.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
JESUS SAYS, IN THE WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TRIBULATION, BUT YOU SHOULD NOT BE TROUBLED BECAUSE HE HAS OVERCOME THE DEVIL.

PROPHETIC WORD:
Receive the anointing of an overcomer.

Seeds of Destiny 10 May 2019 Devotional – The Word as the Fuel for Character

The Word of God is a major tool for character reformation; the entrance of the Word is the doorway to illumination.

SCRIPTURE: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Word of God is a major tool for character reformation; the entrance of the Word is the doorway to illumination.

It is an established fact that a Christian is supposed to be a standard bearer for his or her generation. He/she is instrumental to setting the standard for the world to follow. The Christian is designed to be a road pointer and a pace-setter for their generation. We are meant to set the pace and not keep the pace. Our upright character is meant to convict sinners and draw them to God.

So, in a degenerate world, how do we maintain upright character?

We maintain upright character through the Word of God (Psalms 119:130).

The Word of God is a major tool for character reformation; the entrance of the Word is the doorway to illumination. When we access the Word, light comes; and when light comes, darkness checks out.

The Word of God molds our character by revealing Divine precepts and principles. The Word of God is the container of the Ways of God (Isaiah 55:7-9). You cannot be in touch with the Ways of God and be a wayward person. You cannot follow the Ways of God and end in the traps of the enemy. As you hear the Word of God, the nature of God is transmitted into you. The more you receive the Word, the more like God you become.

REMEMBER THIS: The Word of God is a major tool for character reformation; the entrance of the Word is the doorway to illumination.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Determine to read and study the Bible habitually, consistently and diligently.
  2. Ask God to change any negative character you have at the place of prayer

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask that You deliver me from any negative character or tendency. Let my character speak positively for me, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts. – 2 Peter 1:19

So many times when we need insight into a problem, we try to get it by focusing our attention on that problem. We study it. We ponder it. We examine it from every angle. But the Apostle Peter gives us a different approach. He says we should take heed (or focus our attention) to the written Word of God until the answer to that problem dawns on us through the light of revelation.

We use the term seeing the light in the natural all the time. We say, “Have you seen the light on that yet?” meaning, “Do you have insight into that situation?” Well, the entrance of God’s Word into our hearts brings light (Psalm 119:130). It brings the insight we need.

Have you ever been in a dark room and tried to find your way out? Or been lost outside in the night? What is the first thing you look for in these situations? Light!

It could be coming from under the door or shimmering from a lamp in a house far off. But either way, you head straight for it. You don’t waste your time studying the darkness. You don’t focus your attention on that. You fix your eyes on the light because you know its brightness will drive out the confusion of the darkness and orient you to your surroundings.

If you need insight on some problem or situation you’re facing, pay attention to the Word. Head for the Light and the answer you need will dawn on you.

John 6:28, ‘Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?’

John 6:24-29

All throughout history, mankind has been seeking ways to do the works of God. Everyone has a knowledge within them of the reality of God (Rom. 1:18-20), and a desire to be right with Him. However, just as with these Jews, few agree with the Lord as to how to do it. These Jews were willing to do something to obtain salvation, but they were not willing to commit themselves to Jesus and accept His gift.

This is one of the major differences between Christianity and the religions of the world. Religion is willing to make sacrifices to obtain right standing with God, but Christianity recognizes our complete inability to ever do enough to save ourselves and calls for total faith and reliance on what Jesus did for us.

No one deserves salvation. It cannot be earned by what the Bible calls ‘dead works’ (Heb. 6:1; 9:14). Dead works include all religious activities, good deeds, or charity that one may do as a means of being justified before God.

Faith towards God and what He has done through Christ Jesus is the only means of receiving His free gift of salvation. He only asks us to believe.

Everything comes from God alone. Everything lives by his power, and everything is for his glory. To him be glory evermore. — Romans 11:36 (TLB)

Have you ever wondered why God placed us on this planet? What our purpose is in being here? It is because God is love. There may be life on other planets, but I believe man is unique in the sense that he was created in the image of God. God created on this planet as it were “little gods” whom He could love and who would return love to Him. Reverently speaking, God was lonely. He wanted someone to love and who would return love to Him. That sounds incredible, but the Bible tells us that God loved, and so He created and put us on this planet.

Prayer for the day: Freely I love You, divine God, who daily brings joy to my soul.

Written by Billy Graham, Founder of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association(BGEA). BGEA exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by every effective means and to equip the church and others to do the same.

Salvation through Christ – Open Heavens for Teens 10 May 2019

Topic: Salvation through Christ [Open Heavens for Teens 10 May 2019]

Memorise: “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” – Matthew 1:21

Read: John 1:11-12

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Bible In One Year: 1 Kings 21-22, John 3:1-21

MESSAGE:

A common mistake made by many is to blame others for their misfortunes. Some blame the devil, their parents, teachers or even their friends. But do you know that you can be your own worst enemy? Way back in the Garden of Eden, everything was in order until Adam and Eve sinned. When God visited them and began to ask questions, they laid a bad precedent which many still follow today; blaming someone else for their wrongdoing. No one can force you into doing anything wrong, even if you are pressured, it all boils down to your decision to partake of what you are being pressured to do.

No matter how tempting sin is, with Christ, you have the power to resist it. This is the beauty of Salvation. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says that with every temptation, God provides a way of escape and you cannot be tempted beyond what you can bear. Dear child, do not allow the devil to lie to you that you are too weak to resist a temptation. In Christ, you have immeasurable power that even the devil cannot withstand. When that temptation to sin comes, draw on the power and say a resounding ‘NO’.

Key Point:

If you do not stand up and make use of the authority you have in Christ, you will always be bullied by the devil and his agents.

1 Wonderful story of love;
Tell it to me again;
Wonderful story of love;
Wake the immortal strain!
Angels with rapture announce it,
Shepherds with wonder receive it;
Sinner, 0 won’t you believe It?
Wonderful story of love.

Chorus:
Wonderful! Wonderful!
Wonderful, Wonderful story of love.

2 Wonderful story of love,
Though you are far away;
Wonderful story of love;
Still He doth call today;
Calling from Calvary’s mountain,
Down from the crystal bright fountain,
E’en from the dawn of creation,
Wonderful story of love.

3 Wonderful story of love:
Jesus provides a rest;
Wonderful story of love;
For all the pure and blest,
Rest in those mansions above us,
With those who’ve gone on before us,
Singing the rapturous chorus,
Wonderful story of Love.

Memorise: “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.”- Proverbs 11:14

Read: Genesis 41:33-40 (KJV)

33 Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

34 Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.

35 And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.

36 And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.

37 And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.

38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

Bible in One Year: Exodus 13-14, Jeremiah 32:26-44

Open Heaven 10 May 2019 Friday MESSAGE:

In our daily lives, we need godly counsel. More importantly, people in power need to realize that they need godly counsel in order to rule well. Godly counsel is vital for the success of any human endeavor. I pray that you will never suffer the famine of godly counsel all the days of your life in Jesus Name.

In today’s Bible reading, Pharaoh demonstrated the character of a wise king. He dreamt a dream which he could not interpret, and he sort counsel to get its interpretation. Amazingly, it was Pharaoh’s cupbearer that offered him counsel that led to his problem being solved. The counsel offered by the cupbearer was the result of his encounter with an oracle of God in prison. There are many lessons we can learn from this story, first of which is not to despise those whom God has placed around us, and not to ignore their counsel. Pharaoh could have dismissed the cupbearer’s counsel as coming from a uneducated person taking undue advantage of his access to the king. Furthermore, who would have expected to find a genuine and accurate interpreter of dreams in the prison yard? It was indeed the “God factor” that made the king seek after Joseph, for all odds were against him. The most interesting thing in the story is Pharaoh’s decision to put Joseph charge of the massive project that resulted from the dream’s interpretation. How unsearchable are the ways of God!

A lot of godly counsel has been dismissed by people in leadership, leading to their downfall. This has also had destructive effects on the people they lead. Godly counsel can lead to wise decisions that will bring prosperity to communities, cities, nations and organizations. Leaders in all spheres of life should also learn from how Pharaoh placed a round peg in a round hole to achieve good governance. Pharaoh could have insisted on appointing an indigenous Egyptian to be in charge of the enormous project to be undertaken. He could also have appointed his own child or relative, and that would have bastardized the divine arrangement that God had put in place to save the whole of his empire. Beloved, where do you seek counsel from? Do you go to God and his servant or to the devil and his soothsayers? Remember, only godly counsel can produce wise decisions in your life’s endeavor regardless of the vessel God uses to deliver it. The Lord has on several occasions used my children in the Lord to give counsel that has taken our ministry to the level where it is today. This is why I cherish all the children that the Lord has given to me in the faith, and why I endeavor to train them in the ways of the Lord, so that they in turn can be channels of godly counsel to me and those I set them over. This has worked and is still working for us.

Open Heaven 10 May 2019 Friday Prayer Point:

Father, help me to recognize and accept the godly counsel You send my way, in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 10 May 2019 Friday Hymn 3: Trust And Obey

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2 Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3 Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4 But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5 Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Chinese Officials Warn: Christianity Causes ‘Enormous Harm’ to Society

Government leaders in China’s third most-populous province held a seminar last month to warn communist officials of the “enormous harm” Christianity poses on China’s security, according to China Aid, which promotes religious freedom within the country.

The seminar in Hebi, Henan, for members of the Communist Party of China encouraged the members to “maintain ‘correct views’ in regards to the religion and avoid being persuaded by its ideology,” China Aid reported

The seminar was titled, “Christianity’s Enormous Harm on China’s Security.” With an estimated 94 million people, Henan ranks No. 3 in population among China’s provinces.

“The Chinese government often views religions, including Christianity, as foreign attempts to undermine its rule, even though there is no evidential basis for such a claim,” China Aid said. “As a result, they often try to suppress religious adherents, and they openly forbid Communist Party members from practicing a religion.”

The Catholic news site UCANews reported it was a government telecommunications agency — the Hebi Municipal Radio Administrative Bureau within Henan — that hosted the seminar.

“[China] fears that the number of Chinese Christians exceeds the number of party members and poses a threat to its one-party dictatorship,” a Chinese Catholic identified as “Paul”

Candace Cameron Bure’s 19-Year-Old Son Preaches to Thousands on Leading by Example

Candace Cameron Bure is singing her son’s praises this week after he preached at a Los Angeles church in front of thousands.

She wrote on Instagram: ”What a blessing @levvbure you are to me and the thousands of people you shared with today at church and online!! My son had an opportunity to preach the word at @shepherdchurch this weekend along with 4 other young men and women. They are our future leaders and God anointed their words as they spoke truth, love, encouragement and a call to action to all of us. Thank you @dudleyrutherford for giving them this opportunity, believing in them and trusting them. I’ve put a link my bio (insta) and have posted more on my story. I hope you’ll get a chance to watch online. #Proudmama #GlorytoGod.”

As a student at Shepherd Church’s Bible college, Lev Bure joined four other young men and women at Shepherd Church to preach on 1 Timothy 4:12 which says “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”

Bure, Caleb Walden, Nolan Jones, Michael Johnson, and Adriana Cervantes shared for seven minutes each on how to lead by example in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity.

Bure was tasked with preaching on the “conduct” portion of 1 Timothy 4:12.

While standing before his church Bure said, “In Matthew 5 verse 16 Jesus…
