Memorise: “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31

Read: 2 Chronicles 20:15-17

15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

16 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.

17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

Bible In One Year: 1 Kings 14-15, John 1:1-28

MESSAGE:

While some believers are still being tossed here and there by every wave of threat, only few are beyond threats. A lot can happen in 24 hours. In Acts 12:5-11, God sent an angel to deliver Peter from prison 24 hours to his execution. God turned the critical Samaritan dryness into abundance within 24 hours (2 Kings 7). This is why Jesus says you should not be worried or anxious about tomorrow. Your tomorrow will definitely be alright.

Your life is not in any man’s hand, but God’s. Your promotion, success and victory are all in Christ. Nobody can kill you before your time. If they have tried for so long to kill you, they can never succeed. Only pitch your tent in Jesus, the Source and Owner of your life. As a child of God who fears God, you have no one else to fear (Psalm 27:1). If you however refuse to fear God, the devil and his agents will cause you to fear them through unpleasant situations. You can live beyond threats and intimidation if you can submit to God completely.

Key Point: Stay connected to God at all times and the devil will have no hold on you.

Hymn 6:

  1. Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
    And our eternal home:
  2. Under the shadow of your throne
    Your saints have dwelt secure;
    Sufficient is your arm alone,
    And our defense is sure
  3. Before the hills in order stood
    Or earth received its frame,
    From everlasting you are God,
    To endless years the same.
  4. A thousand ages in your sight
    Are like an evening gone
Short as the watch that ends the night
    Before the rising sun.
  5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
    Soon bears us all away;
We fly forgotten, as a dream
    Does at the opening day.
  6. Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Still be our guard while troubles last,
    And our eternal home!

Memorise: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”- 2 Timothy 4:2

Read: 2 Timothy 4:1-5 (KJV)

1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Bible in One Year: Exodus 7-8, Jeremiah 31:31-40

Open Heaven 7 May 2019 Tuesday MESSAGE:

Preaching is a divine instruction to be obeyed, not only by evangelist and pastors, but by all born again children of God. It is simply telling people about the saving power of Jesus and persuading them to embrace the spiritual gifts He freely gives. Committing this great work into our hands and declaring us to be Christ’s ambassadors, the Holy Spirit says in 2 Corinthians 5:19-20:

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

In today’s Bible reading, He instructs us to preach the word in season and out of season. In other words, we are expected to preach the word when it is convenient and when it is not convenient. He also tells us how to preach, saying our message should rebuke, reprove and exhort. Although the gospel is a message of love, it is not devoid of correction for those on the path of destruction, as some people erroneously believe. Any gospel that does not reprove its hearer is incomplete. The good news is supposed to convict those on the part of perdition to make a U-turn onto the path of life and righteousness. This gospel is also not devoid of rebuke for all men. Indeed, our God is love, but some people forget that He is also a Consuming Fire to the ungodly. John the Baptist did not mince words in his preaching about the kingdom of God. In Matthew 3:1-8, he rebuked the Pharisees and Sadducees of their hypocrisy and asked them to repent. The message of our Lord Jesus Christ also contained rebuke. In Luke 13:2b-3, He said to His audience:

2b Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

He also rebuked His church at Ephesus, warning them that they had neglected their first love and exhorting them to repent (Revelation 2:1-5). Lastly, the message of our preaching should also exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. We must exhort in doctrine in order to raise mature Christians who are grounded in the ways of God. Some preachers claim to have been called to preach and not to teach doctrine. One wonders where they got their theology from. Any sermon that is void of doctrine is a lifeless oration. People cannot do the will of God they don’t know, and they only get to know the will of God through exhortation in doctrine (John 7:17). Beloved, you must go out there to preach, so that sinners can embrace the love of God and repent.

Open Heaven 7 May 2019 Tuesday Action Point:

Make it a point of duty to present the full gospel of Jesus Christ whenever you preach the word.

Open Heaven 7 May 2019 Tuesday Hymn 15: Must I Go, And Empty-Handed

1 “Must I go, and empty-handed,”
Thus my dear Redeemer meet?
Not one day of service give Him,
Lay no trophy at His feet?

Chorus:
“Must I go, and empty-handed?”
Must I meet my Savior so?
Not one soul with which to greet Him:
Must I empty-handed go?

2 Not at death I shrink nor falter,
For my Savior saves me now;
But to meet Him empty-handed,
Thought of that now clouds my brow.

3 O the years in sinning wasted;
Could I but recall them now,
I would give them to my Savior,
To His will I’d gladly bow.

4 O ye saints, arouse, be earnest,
Up and work while yet ’tis day;
Ere the night of death o’ertake thee,
Strive for souls while still you may.

You’re A Heavenly Being – Rhapsody of Realities 7 May 2019

Rhapsody of Realities 7 May 2019 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome – You’re A Heavenly Being

Topic: You’re A Heavenly Being

Therefore as we have borne the image of the earthly, let us bear also the image of the heavenly (1 Corinthians 15:49 DRB).

The Christian is a heavenly being; the Word of God shows us that. Our opening verse is a charge for you to walk as the heavenly being that you are—not when you get to heaven, but here and now—in the earth. Notice the juxtaposition in Apostle Paul’s argument: we’ve borne the image of the earthy, which is now passed away because we’re now new creatures in Christ. Therefore, let us now live as heavenly beings, as icons of Christ, associates of the God-kind.

You’re not an earthling; you’re heavenly. Become conscious of this every day; make it obvious in your communication and manner of life. Every so often, you declare, “I’m a heavenly being.” That’s the Gospel of Jesus Christ; He came to make you heavenly. He came to give you a heavenly life to live, not when you get to heaven but here in the earth. This is important because if you don’t have a heavenly life here in the earth, you’ll never go to heaven.

Heaven is for heavenly beings; those who have a heavenly life in the earth. No one can go to heaven without a heavenly life. There’re only two legal ways someone can be granted entry to a country; any country. It’s either you’re a citizen of that country, bearing the passport of that country, or you’re issued a visa into the country. You must possess either or both before you’re granted entry.

Now, this is true for virtually every country, and heaven is a country. Philippians 3:20 NIV tells us that we’re citizens of heaven. No man will go to heaven who’s not “qualified” to be in heaven. And the way to qualify is being born again; having the life of Christ, the life of heaven in you here in the earth. Then, when He comes, because you’re already a citizen of heaven, because you already belong to Him, you’ll go with Him at the rapture. Hallelujah!

Be glad that you’re born again, and therefore a citizen of the Kingdom. Remind yourself continually that you’re not of this world. You’re heavenly; born from above with the life and nature of God in you.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for my glorious association as a fellow citizen with the saints, and a vital member of the household of God. I’m not of this world, neither am I subject to the depravities and corrupting influences of this present world. As an icon of Christ, and a comrade of the God-kind, I live far above all earthly and mundane influences, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Abby Johnson Shows 4D Ultrasound of Her Unborn Baby’s Heartbeat in Time Square

Abby Johnson Shows 4D Ultrasound of Her Unborn Baby’s Heartbeat in Time Square

On Saturday, thousands of protestors huddled around a stage to hear Abby Johnson, subject of the pro-life movie Unplanned, amplify her unborn baby’s heartbeat.

“This is a baby. This right here is a baby,” Johnson said while patting her stomach after her ultrasound, according to Fox News. “Life is winning. We will see a day when abortion in this country is unthinkable.”

Retired NFL player Benjamin Watson voiced his support, too. “That’s where is starts,” Watson said from the stage. “It doesn’t start when the baby is out. The relationship you have with the mother, the relationship you have talking to that child in utero. Fatherhood begins in the womb. There are millions of reborn children and courageous, precious mothers that are depending on us men to be men. So let’s do it.”

The Focus on the Family event, called “Alive From New York”, featured the heartbeat, as well as live music and inspirational abortion survivor speakers, as a message to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

“We wanted to make a statement. Gov. Cuomo has said something along the lines of pro-lifers aren’t welcome in New York,” Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life, told Fox News. “Well, here we are in Times Square and life should be welcomed wherever we are, and from what we’ve heard pro-life New Yorkers are really appalled by this legislation and they want to…

‘We Will Chop off Their Heads’ for Allah, Kids at Philadelphia Islamic Center Sing in Disturbing Video

‘We Will Chop off Their Heads’ for Allah, Kids at Philadelphia Islamic Center Sing in Disturbing Video

In a shocking video shared to YouTube, children at the Philadelphia Islamic Center sang about fulfilling Allah’s promise by leading an army and chopping off the heads of unwarranted people.

“We will defend the land of divine guidance with our bodies, and we will sacrifice our souls without hesitation,” the young children sang. “We will chop off their heads, and we will liberate the sorrowful and exalted Al-Aqsa Mosque. We will lead the army of Allah fulfilling His promise, and we will subject them to eternal torture.”

The disturbing video was shared to YouTube by the Middle East Media Research Institute, also known as MEMRI a Middle Eastern watchdog group, who wanted to uncover what was taking place in Philadelphia.

“These are not isolated incidents; they are happening in major centers of the country – including in Pennsylvania,” MEMRI said in a statement to Fox News about the video.

MEMRI originally stumbled upon the video on The Muslim American Society (MAS) Islamic Center in Philadelphia, when the group shared the video to their Facebook page in honor of “Ummah Day.”

The day was celebrated by children wearing traditional Palestinian scarves, singing, and poetry readings, which mentioned killing for Allah, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

In just the short video alone, multiple children are heard saying…

Renowned Pastor Warren Wiersbe Passes Away at 89

Renowned Christian author and pastor Warren Wiersbe passed away on May 2 at the age of 89, just two weeks shy of his 90th birthday.

The author of more than 150 books, the “pastor’s pastor” is known for his “Be” commentary series which dive into the central themes of most books of the Bible.

According to Christianity Today, Wiersbe – who came to Christ after hearing Billy Graham preach at a Youth for Christ rally – became an ordained minister in 1951 from the Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard, Illinois.

After receiving his ordination, Wiersbe began pastoring at Central Baptist Church in East Chicago, Indiana until 1957.

From 1961 to 1971, Wiersbe pastored at Calvary Baptist Church in Covington, Kentucky before becoming the pastor at Moody Memorial Church in Chicago from 1971 to 1980.

While at Moody Memorial Church, Wiersbe’s sermons were broadcasted on the church’s radio station, he regularly wrote for the church’s newsletter, and the prolific pastor began to teach and develop a curriculum for a DM in preaching at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. During this time, Wiersbe also began to mentor up and coming pastors.

According to the Baptist Press, after leaving Moody, Wiersbe continued writing, sharing his sermons via radio and teaching.

Democratic Rep. Harasses Pro-Life Protester, Threatens to Find Her House, Calls Her ‘Old White Lady’

Democratic Rep. Harasses Pro-Life Protester, Threatens to Find Her House, Calls Her ‘Old White Lady’

A Pennsylvania state representative is being criticized after posting a video showing him chasing and harassing a pro-life protester, calling her an “old white lady” and threatening to demonstrate outside her house.

Rep. Brian Sims, a Democrat, posted the eight-minute video Thursday. It has received more than 400,000 views and thousands of comments – most of them negative. The pro-life group Live Action also re-posted the video on its Twitter feed.

The woman, apparently Catholic, was holding rosary beads and praying in front of a Planned Parenthood when Sims began the video.

“She is an old white lady,” Sims told the audience before directly confronting her. “…How many children have you clothed today? I’m sorry, I missed your answer, how many children have you clothed today?”

The unidentified woman tried keeping her back to the camera, but Sims circled her to ensure viewers could see her face.

“How many children have you put shoes on their feet today?” he asked. “Have you fed any children today or have you just…

Hamas Agrees to Ceasefire after Sending 700 Rockets into Israel

Hamas Agrees to Ceasefire after Sending 700 Rockets into Israel

After a weekend of violence, Hamas has agreed to a ceasefire with Israel.

According to CBN News, Israel also lifted its restrictions for civilians living in the area. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, however, the country was still ready to defend itself.

“Over the last two days we struck Hamas and Islamic Jihad with great force. We hit over 350 targets. We struck at terrorist leaders and operatives and we destroyed terrorist buildings,” Netanyahu said.

“The campaign is not over and it demands patience and sagacity. We are prepared to continue. The goal has been – and remains – ensuring quiet and security for the residents of the south. I send condolences to the families and best wishes for recovery to the wounded,” he said.

Over the weekend, Israelis fled to bomb shelters as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad launched some 700 rockets at southern Israel.

“Those rockets are dangerous. Those rockets can be deadly. Those rockets are being fired by Hamas toward the civilian population here in Israel,” said Israel Police National Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.

During the attacks, a 58-year-old man was killed, according to reports.

The Iron Dome intercepted more than 150 rockets and struck back at about 350 targets.

“The unfortunate situation is Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad are able to smuggle into the Gaza strip as well as…

80 Percent of World’s Persecuted are Christians, New Report Says

80 Percent of World’s Persecuted are Christians, New Report Says

An estimated 80 percent of all persecuted religious believers around the world are Christians, according to new British report that also says the level of persecution in some areas “is arguably coming close to meeting the international definition of genocide.”

The report was prepared by a panel headed by Rt. Rev. Philip Mounstephen, bishop of Truro within the Church of England, and commissioned by British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.

The worldwide persecution of Christians, the report says, is only worsening.

“Christianity now faces the possibility of being wiped-out in parts of the Middle East where its roots go back furthest. In Palestine, Christian numbers are below 1.5 percent; in Syria the Christian population has declined from 1.7 million in 2011 to below 450,000 and in Iraq, Christian numbers have slumped from 1.5 million before 2003 to below 120,000 today.

“Christianity is at risk of disappearing, representing a massive setback for plurality in the region.”

Christians are fleeing some countries, the report says, due to persecution that is nearing genocide levels.

“In some regions, the level and nature of persecution is arguably coming close to meeting the international definition of genocide, according to that adopted by the UN,” the report says. “The eradication of Christians and other minorities on pain of ‘the sword’ or other…

‘His Mother Should Have Aborted Him,’ Ala. Dem. Says of Trump Jr.

‘His Mother Should Have Aborted Him,’ Ala. Dem. Says of Trump Jr.

The Alabama representative who shocked both sides of the abortion debate by saying either “you kill” kids “now or you kill them later” isn’t backtracking.

Democratic Rep. John Rogers, in a follow-up interview with WVTM-TV, took a swipe at President Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., for comments the latter made about Rogers. Trump Jr. had said “every Democratic running for president” should be asked where they stand on Rogers’ comments.

“Him being born, that’s proof right there [that abortion should be legal],” Rogers told WVTM. “That’s a very, very good defense I have for abortion.”

Rogers called it “an honor” to be criticized by Trump Jr. because, Rogers said, the president’s son is never right.

“His mother should have aborted him when he was born and he wouldn’t have made that stupid statement,” Rogers said.

“He’s evidently retarded [or] crazy. Donald Trump’s son, I know there’s something wrong with that boy,” Rogers added.

The controversy started last when Rogers rose to oppose an Alabama House bill that would ban most abortions in the state, as Christian Headlines previously reported. It passed,…
